You just proved that you have no idea what your saying, do you think the electric is free anywhere in Europe?, do you know what you pay as an electric bill in naija is chicken change to what people pay for electricity for a month in the UK or US ? As a cleaner in the US lets assume you earn $800 a month ( you'll think that's a lot). First of all you pay your rent of about $500 ( you have 300 left) you pay an electric bill of like $100, then water bill of $90,(you have 110 left) you still have to pay for gas off about $50, then you'd budget at least $50 for a cell phone bill every month...... I have not even started talking about food or any other luxury and the whole salary is way spent. So my brother you have no idea what your saying, the cost of living in Nigeria is way cheaper than that of Europe.

Please in which abroad can a cleaner afford a three bedrooms en after ten years, who even told you it's easy for them to save? Is virtually impossible even if that person has two to three cleaning jobs......and there are many factors that come to play in the kind of three bedroom that cleaner is affording.....probably one in some ghetto area where they'd be paying 300-600 dollars a month if they can even afford it...

The fact is, a lot of Nigerians especially the ones in diaspora do not believe in the growth of the country. Nevertheless when you say "Nigeria is the most corrupt country in the world" or that "Nigeria has the most malnourished children" they jump and say " yes that is true!!", I find that utterly irritating and despicable. Yes, it's a fact Nigeria grew at a rate of about 7.8 percent and from Ngozi Okonjo Iweala's statement, She with the help of the FG aim to reach double- digits of growth in the oncoming years. Nigerians should understand the Rome wasn't built in a day, these things take time. We have seen a huge growth since after Abacha's regime. Corruption is a curse Nigeria is plagued with but this does not prevent growth in the country. I still see Nigeria as the Giant of Africa and no one can argue the fact that Nigeria is amongst the backbones that hold up Africa.

So many people are quoting the bible saying " spare the rod and spoil the child" .Nigerians or rather most Africans take this too literally, for me I feel the rod signififies discipline. You don't necessarily have to use a cane, belt or whatever on a child before you impact discipline to them. Although as I child I was flogged by my mum occasionally and rarely smacked by my dad, but fortunately my secondary school prohibited flogging, nevertheless juniors were flogged by seniors and you generally didn't want to be a whimp and tell on them so you just eat it up. I just believed that roughed us up because taking the heat of the belt without moving or flinching was seen as being manly. In countries like Uk, Canada and US it's illegal to even slap your child, but without flogging they still raise well mannered children. So I really don't support the flogging of children because a lot of parents, teachers and guardians abuse it.

The truth is, no one knows who is lying, and although there is an atom of truth in every rumor, nobody knows exactly how much the building cost. As for the ones saying he should have taken the criticism better, do you expect him to disclose the amount he spent buying a property? Just because he is a government official? People should know that this man acted for over a decade, and may have won different contracts in the process, bottom line he was not in any way living like a poor man before he got into politics. secondly people should understand that these politicians earn salaries( a commissioner earns anywhere N800k-N1.5m monthly) in a year that's N9.6m-N18m......pretty decent money. He can definitely afford a mortgage for that sort of house if this is true. People should stop lookin at the negative aspects of things.....not all politicians steal!

Its Nigeria and definitely Abuja, I could tell from the bus way in front. I don't get why some people are here blabbing crap, about politicians and government workers, and the poster even said " our money".....please, which your money? ..... There are so many self made billionaires in that country that can use N400m to buy a car if they choose. And most of these people worked diligently for their money. There are always rich and poor people in every country and people go to bed hungry in almost every country...poverty is a disease every country is trying to fight everywhere in the world. If someone buys a Bugatti, that's their business...... Don't hold a grudge against them because there are poor people in the community but it should be a sign that there's opportunity for growth .

Personally, I don't care what's going on with RIM and I'm not all that crazy about owning a BB, I use a Bold 9900 and I just love the phone. Frankly I dislike androids and I'm not so big on iPhones because I don't like full touch screen phones, I prefer the QWERTY keyboard cos I find it easier and faster to type on. Yea some people take BBs as a highly rated phones but that's because a new BB is not cheap and people who use the iPhone 4 or 4s would do the same cos these machines are quite expensive relative to their size. A new smartphone cost anywhere between 400-800 dollars, that's N65,000-N120,000. So whoever feels like carrying their noses up because of their BB, it's their business, I really don't see it as a big deal.

Nevertheless, i feel both Countries are striving for a change in the depiction of Africa as a whole.By checking on Forbes to have a look at the very accomplished entrepreneurs in the African continent, you would notice exactly what I am saying.
