Christianity Etc › Happy Father's Day: Roles Of Fathers by gohf(op): 9:26am On Jun 15, 2025 |
As we celebrate the heads and leaders of our various homes today, let us read some of the things that makes us a godly father from the bible.
1. A trustworthy leader who is responsible for the upbringing of his children:
Gen.18.19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
Joshua 24:15b as for me and my house we will serve the Lord
Deut.6.7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Prov.22.6 Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.
2. Teach his children to be respectful and obedient
1Tim.3.4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (NIV)
Titus.1.6 An elder must be well thought of for his good life. He must be faithful to his wife, and his children must be believers who are not wild or rebellious.
Jer.35.6 But they replied, "We do not drink wine, because our forefather Jonadab son of Recab gave us this command: 'Neither you nor your descendants must ever drink wine.... Jer.35.8 We have obeyed everything our forefather Jonadab son of Recab commanded us. Neither we nor our wives nor our sons and daughters have ever drunk wine....
Prov.13.24 If you refuse to discipline your children, it proves you don't love them; if you love your children, you will be prompt to discipline them.
Prov.4.1 Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding. 4 My father told me, "Take my words to heart. Follow my instructions and you will live.
3. Provide for his home and family
1Tim.5.8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Matt.7.9 You parents--if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?.. NO
4. In training should not provoke his children astray nor drive them into sin
Eph.6.4 And now a word to you fathers. Don't make your children angry by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction approved by the Lord.
Col.3.21 Parents, don't come down too hard on your children or you'll crush their spirits.
Lev.19.29 "'Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.
5. A father should be forgiving Luke 15:11-32 the Father welcomes back his repentant son
Mal.4.6 He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse."
6. A Father should be encouraging 1Thess.2.11 - 12 And you know that we treated each of you as a father treats his own children. We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you into his Kingdom to share his glory.
7. A father should pray and bless his children
1Tim.2.8 I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.
Num.6.24 - 26 `May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.'
Gen.49.26 Your father's blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, than the bounty of the age-old hills. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers.
God bless all fathers who follow after our heavenly Father. Happy Father's day 💐 |

honesttalk21: Gen 4:26 as most parts of Genesis is said to be written by Moses and the event in Gen 4:26 happened fairly well before Moses was.
I don't succumb to Allah being same as YHVH as this will limit the uniqueness of Allah.
Allah simply means the one and only God..
Allah is the unique, eternal, and all-powerful being who created and oversees everything so your answer is no Allah is not YHVH, and your explanation is because that would be you succumbing and limiting Allah, basically put you are also claiming that Allah is greater than YHVH the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that Israel say they worship according to the bible. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Beware Of These Set Of Pastors by gohf: 6:52pm On Jun 12, 2025 |
Ken4Christ: Giving is accepted according to your faith. We are still growing. And Jesus knows that. So, while we are still babies in our faith walk, his mercy covers us. But the ultimate goal is to grow up to the measure of the fullness of Christ. At that point, it won't be difficult to give all. But start from somewhere. Anything less than 10% is unacceptable. God is even very lenient. Most government tax is from 30% and above. They don't even ask your permission to collect it. In most developed countries, it's 50% and above and no one is protesting. well you are right those churches are a more merciful government, they don't collect 100% 50% or 30% but a mere 10%, some are even more merciful they don't even add the threat of curses or hell to it. |
Islam › Re: Is Allah YHVH? Yes Or No by gohf(op): 7:53am On Jun 09, 2025 |
honesttalk21: Quite out of the scope of my direct questions. Was Moses not Hebrew? Did people and prophets before Moses call God YHWH?
What really is the meaning of YHWH anyway?
I have told you before that Allah is not a compound of Al and lah but a single name Allah is a unique, indivisible name, not a title or derived form.
Allah is the proper name for the one true God in Islam. It's a unique term that isn't a combination of Al (the) and Ilah (god)
However you always remain obstinate. so Allah is not the god. Noted. So what does Allah mean? |
Islam › Re: Is Allah YHVH? Yes Or No by gohf(op): 7:52am On Jun 09, 2025 |
honesttalk21: There in your answer you ignore to answer if Moses was or wasn't Hebrew?
Oh you with a concept of God that communicates with his prophets in ways they do not understand? How confusing?
You claim YHWH was not a name for God amongst Hebrew speakers before Moses? Please read and understand your scripture.
Not surprised that you belittle your creator and make comparison to mortals. Tell me is Donald Trump now your creator or comparable to him?
What does Genesis 4:26 say? Gen.4.26 And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of YHVH. The question is simply simple is YHVH Allah? Yes or no |
Islam › Re: Is Allah YHVH? Yes Or No by gohf(op): 7:49am On Jun 09, 2025 |
honesttalk21: The issue really isn't there unless you create it.
Is YHVH same as Ubangidi, Chukwu or Oluwa of Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba language. Maybe we may never know for certain being that so far there doesn't seem to be a documented revelation in any of these languages to prophets from these tribes.
The almighty God in Arabic, the language in which the Quran was revealed to prophet Muhammad pbuh is Allah. It shouldn't be confused with Illah that means the god.
Pre-islamic Arabs recognised Allah as the almighty God though they had their polytheist ways. They claimed worship of their idols as a means to reach the almighty God.
Perhaps you should also investigate if Adonai, HaShem, Kyrios also refer to the same being YHVH refers to? so after all your verbose rhetoric what's the answer, is Allah YHVH? Yes or no |
Christianity Etc › Re: Beware Of These Set Of Pastors by gohf: 7:46am On Jun 09, 2025 |
Ken4Christ: Because not everyone has the faith to meet up with the demands of our Lord Jesus. The early church did it on two recorded occasions. So, we should at least start from the least requirement and step up over time. God loves a generous and cheerful givers. But I must say here that the administration of money received through tithe is faulty. The G Os spends most of it on himself while staffs working with them are poorly paid.
Besides, most of these churches don't reach out to the poor, fatherless, orphans and widows. This is what I mean by the administration of tithe received. so is reducing the demands of Jesus now justified even though he said his yoke isn't budersome? And do you justify a theft if he is a giver (proper administrator) of what he scammed off people? |

Ken4Christ: Jesus collects 100%. He said we should sell all that we have and give alms. So, the one who gives such instruction could not be condemning tithe.
What we should focus on is the administration and not the collection. you mentioned and brought up collection and tried to legitimize it. if you know God desires you all why reduce it to a paltry one tenth |

Dogalmighty17: OP going by your list, you have described ALL Nigerian pastors. Which is why these days I just stay at home on Sundays. I found out that church uses people and takes advantage of them. not all churches do though, I guess there's a reason Jesus said the narrow way few find it, if it's difficult to find them don't expect it to be popular and easy to spot without you committed to searching for it |
Christianity Etc › Re: Beware Of These Set Of Pastors by gohf: 10:08am On Jun 08, 2025 |
Steep: Actually there are evidences in the Bible that shows eternal security is true. The hyper grace teaching is actually license and has nothing to do with the grace of Jesus christ which lead to shun fleshly lost and pursue Godly life. I didn't read where ken4christ said eternal security is not true, as he clearly emphasized eternal security with responsibility but you left that part out, why? |

ebubeson: The first question I will ask is: are you ashamed of carrying physical paper Bible to Church? If you have electronic bible on your device, do you use it to Church because you are ashamed in carrying physical paper Bible or you just use it because of easy and convenience? Lastly, do you go to church totally without any form of Bible?
If you feel carrying physical paper Bible will affect your swagger then you are ashamed of Jesus Christ.
Please tell Jesus to forgive you for being ashamed of Him and for all sins you have committed, and let Him come into your life today in Jesus name. Amen.
Happy Sunday to you. Visit a bible-believing church today. when Nigerian was still good, scratch that, better than now. JimRohn: Thank you for your honesty in acknowledging that Jesus never explicitly said the Holy Spirit is God or that God is a triune being. This is precisely the point I am raising.
From an Islamic perspective, we affirm that true monotheism (Tawheed) must be based on clear, unambiguous teachings from God's messengers. If the doctrine of the Trinity—which defines God as three co-equal, co-eternal persons—is such a fundamental tenet of Christian faith, then it is reasonable to ask for explicit statements from Jesus himself affirming this.
If Jesus never said that the Holy Spirit is God or that God is a triune being, then the formulation of the Trinity appears to be a later theological development, not a direct teaching of Christ. That raises an important question: should central doctrines about God's nature be based on theological interpretation, or on the direct, clear words of God's prophets?
As Muslims, we respect Jesus as a prophet and messenger of God, and we follow what he clearly taught: the worship of the One true God. If he never claimed divinity for the Holy Spirit or described God as triune, then we have every reason to remain with the pure monotheism he preached.
BibleInterpreta AntiChristian TenQ CreativeOrbit gofh honesttalk21 NairaLTQ MaxInDHouse it doesn't justify you questioning the authenticity of what is written because of your observation of the some ambiguous theological claims which doesn't align with what's written. What you call foundational tenet is a mere fabrication that is obvious to those who read the text and research what the first church believed and taught, except one is too lazy to do that. But are you different from them, they take part of what is written and accept that to be true and you do the same, in directly calling it all into question. They claim Jesus is God which is an error, you claim that Jesus isn't the son of God which is also an error, non of which the Tanakh nor the Bible agree to. Proving a lie is a lie doesn't make another lie true |

so there are no direct quotes in all gohf said where he mishandled the scriptures
Based on the information provided, that is correct. There are no direct quotes from Gohf's statements where he explicitly quotes Islamic scriptures and then mishandles them. The analysis has been based on the general themes and potential areas of misunderstanding. |
