I am writing about this topic not only because of my interaction with the Nairalander @MrPresident1, but because of my observations on Nairaland and the lived experiences of my contacts with people who profess to be Christians, especially the Pentecostal varieties.
I have attached a screenshot of our conversation, and you will notice how he immediately resorted to insults and abuses. This is someone who goes by the title of “born again,” has more than 200 topics on the Rapture, and is quick to quote Bible verses.

Now to the crux of the matter: does going to church, being born again, or religion in general lead to any change in life in a positive direction? Are the spiritual encounters we experience in our churches mere emotional manipulations with no tangible positive life changes?

This is not only related to this individual alone; I see lots of Bible-touting pastors resort to insults and curses when challenged or countered. I am proud to say I have never been to any church, read the Bible for more than two years now, and will never do so in the future.
Believe me when I tell you these people will speak in tongues in the morning and physically fight and curse you in the evening. I am unchurched, and I am well-behaved and more in control of my emotions than over 99% of these people.
Are the change of life experiences or being born again a big scam?

people claim what they are not and it's by their character you know them, but instead of looking at others let us look at your own claim

Does that mean telling someone to "get a life" and you speaking confidently like you are absolutely sure, "my dog feeds better than you"

Why not reevaluate your own evaluation of yourself first. Are you not justifying yourself claiming to be in control of your emotions with a baseless claim of doing than over 8billion or more people on the planet, I don't know how you calculated your 99%. Don't you see that hypocrisy, to condemn others while justifying and elevating yourself.

That's why you need to submit to God and bear the fruit of humility. Forget others first, and focus on your own soul.

Because in truth there are those who claim to come in the name of Jesus and say they are anointed, they do all kinds of miracles and wonders and yet they also do all manner wickedness and pride, these ones are false men of God, false anointed ones but if there are fakes and false ones it means there are real ones.

But forget them all, even me as well, let's focus on the real Jesus, the son of God, giving your life to God won't make you perfect overnight, you are still in your flesh but it will give you the spirit of God and the strength to fight and overcome the pressure to be proud, selfish, look down on others, easily hate and be angry, true joy and peace that doesn't come from things nor this word, a joy that gives you strength to continue to love.

You can either accept God's help in humility or belief you are good enough yourself, accuse others and feel you are better than them or receive God's grace and be a light that men will glorify your Father in heaven

We care about the baby because her mother is not mentally stable. How do I know this? She is preaching about one of the thousands of gods in the world, exposing her baby to serious threat. It's just as if someone out there is with a baby and preaching about Mohammed, Zeus or Odin. What will you think of such person?

When millions decide not to read and study their Bibles. How do I know, grew up there, not many in the branches and HQ I have been to do, and those who do and have questions are not answered but told no time or given silly excuses.

My stand isn't the denial of God's son and God's spirit in their role towards our salvation but denying that they are God which goes contrary to what God said

Faith gives us confidence to hope for what God has promised us, because faith is obedience to God who cannot lie, who cannot change his mind and who cannot fail.


Great faith is realizing that compared our brother and Lord Jesus Christ, we are his servants, Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed!

Faith comes from humility to completely submit to God our Father the sovereign YHVH

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Jesus will do what he was been doing. They will do even greater things than these, because Jesus is with the Father. And what did Jesus do, he obeyed and submitted and God worked through him.

Should I speak of the begger who kept pleasing till he was heard and healed, because with faith we can cast out demons and mountains of obstacles. With faith we overcome storms and trust that with God our lives are secured. With faith we believe even though we have not yet seen, we obey even though we are yet to be rewarded.

With faith we overcome fear and worry, with faith we please God and love God absolutely, with faith we become responsible and righteous with the things of God. For from faith in God comes out righteousness and deliverance

Let us not forget it is God that gives us the strength to make wealth 😊 👍

Those who have faith overcome obstacles to reach Jesus Christ, son of the living God

Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a sleeping mat. They tried to push through the crowd to Jesus, but they couldn't reach him. She believed in God goodness even if God didn't send the savior to the gentleness, even if the Messiah ignored her, even if the disciples didn't want her, she refused to be discouraged, even when seen as a dog despite her worship to the lamb of God and accepting him as Lord. Her faith made her stay and wait, her faith made her persevere even though the testful word were painful. She did not relent and remained.


Faith doesn't care about the laws of moses or the religions of men, faith doesn't care about the circumstances or the humiliation involved, faith is focused fully focused on believing that God is good and He will do good to me, He will forgive me, He will help me, He will save me, no rule can stop God, no law can, no one can. There is nothing impossible for God to do even things we don't deserve God can let us have them because He is merciful and kind.

So faith comes from listening to the message and commands from Christ.

For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
Take a firm stand against the devil, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.

If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.

For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.

What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

All of these people we have mentioned who had faith and acted received God's approval because of their faith, yet none of them received ALL that God had promised. For God had far better things in mind for us that would also benefit them, for they can't receive the prize at the end of the race until we finish the race.

So you see, it isn't enough just to have faith. Faith that doesn't show itself by good deeds is no faith at all--it is dead and useless.

You see, Abraham was trusting God so much that he was willing to do whatever God told him to do. His faith was made complete by what he did--by his actions.
So you see, we are made right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.
Rahab the prostitute is another example of this. She was made right with God by her actions--when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. Just as the body is dead without a spirit, so also faith is dead without good deeds.


It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute did not die with all the others in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.
It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God's promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac,...

Nightmares are dreams and dreams have been scientifically proven to be part of the brain natural neurological activities..

Everything you don't understand is supposed to be part of some supernatural weird stuff..

I didn't say they were not, but how can you be tormented by a dream even though your physical body is comfortably sleeping.

They have "explanation" for a lot of things but very few solutions to anything.

You call it supernatural weird and comfort yourself with their "explanation" you can go ahead with your life and not disturb yourself that "it is just a mere reoccurring dream" that doesn't affect your physical life.

They also have explanations for coma, brain dead, and for some reason they study and investigate the existence of the soul. Why would they whom you claim to listen to try to understand the very things you call "supernatural weird stuff"

You deceive yourself first by denying what you experience and if you can do that then will you even believe what is real if it causes you the same discomfort.


Honestly like I said initially the existence of hell shouldn't be a disturbance to any good person honestly. Like do you go about your daily life as "an upright citizen" being afraid or scared of prison.

If it exists what can you do about it
If it doesn't would that make you feel free to be wicked
Or are you looking to make a contract with hell.

Concern yourself more with if heaven is real or not, if those who do good would be rewarded

I tell you to flee God's wrath and coming judgement, repent and do what is right, seek the kingdom of God and receive the gift of God, the Holy Spirit our assurance for eternal life.

You want proof there is hell then go there through death. You think justice began with humans, do you see justice among animals? You want a physical picture of a place you don't go with your physical body.

Do you know what a nightmare is, when a person who is asleep on a fine soft bed yet they find themselves tormented somewhere else.

A beautiful grave will not comfort a soul in hell

2Tim.4.3 - For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to right teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever they want to hear. (4)- They will reject the truth and follow strange myths.

Matt.23.15 - Yes, how terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn him into twice the son of hell as you yourselves are.
Matt.23.33 - Snakes! Sons of vipers! How will you escape the judgment of hell?

Whoever converted you, and into whatever you were converted into if they were of the devil you had better run to God now before you end up in hell where they are heading
