If we apply Occam's Razor, the simplest explanation is that the church was built with fire-resistant materials, whereas the surrounding homes were not. That's not a divine intervention, is it? Just basic physics and architecture.

Again, if god were indeed responsible for sparing the church, why did he not prevent the fire from occurring in the first place? Or, at the very least, why did he not protect the surrounding homes and businesses?

Can you provide any evidence to support the claim that the church's survival was a divine miracle, rather than a result of its physical properties?

Like I said in my last post, this year, I would like to read the entire Bible and right now, I'm almost done with Genesis. However, there's something that concerns me.
Everybody says Genesis was written by Moses (the popular claim is that the first 5 books of the Bible have Moses as their author), but how can we be sure?
1. Was Moses present during the events that happened in the book, or were they just Hebrew oral traditions that were passed down all through the times and Moses just happened to be the one that finally put it to writing (remember they were slaves for 430 years in Egypt)?
2. And sometimes it seems like more than one person is talking in Genesis. For example...
Genesis 26:34-35;
" At the age of forty, Esau married two Hittite wives: Judith, the daughter of Beeri, and Basemath, the daughter of Elon. But Esau’s wives made life miserable for Isaac and Rebekah."
Genesis 28:6-9;
" Esau knew that his father, Isaac, had blessed Jacob and sent him to Paddan-Aram to find a wife and that he had warned Jacob, “You must not marry a Canaanite woman.” He also knew that Jacob had obeyed his parents and gone to Paddan-Aram. It was now very clear to Esau that his father did not like the local Canaanite women. So Esau visited his uncle Ishmael’s family and married one of Ishmael’s daughters, in addition to the wives he already had. His new wife’s name was Mahalath. She was the sister of Nebaioth and the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son."
Genesis 36:1-3;
"This is the account of the descendants of Esau (also known as Edom). If Moses was the only one writing, did he somehow forget the names of Esau's wives? From chapters 26 and 28, we can see Esau had three wives, Judith, Basemath and Mahalath. But in chapter 36 we see Adah, Oholibamah and Basemath. In fact, their names are different.



In 28, we see his cousin's name was Mahalath, but in 36 it says her name was Basemath. In 26 Basemath is the daughter of Elon, but in 36 the daughter of Elon is Adah. And what's the relationship between Judith in 26 and Oholibamah in 36? Where did that one come from? How can you see all these and say Genesis was the work of one man Moses?

Now I understand that you feel they are the same person, but does it say Esau has only three wives? And the same person can't have different fathers right? So apart from the common case of marrying a cousin which could be the same person of both, I don't see why those hitties and Canaanites, the other wives are the same

Esau married first at the age of 40, and the next record of his marriage was after his father Isaac had died. If we are to calculate the age Jacob left to get married he was way older than 40. Now have you considered the possibility that Esau's first wives didn't bear children, it's not like such case was rare in their family.


Now about your first question Joseph was a prime minister in Egypt and Joseph learnt a lot from Jacob who had probably meet Abraham who was alive when Noah also was alive. We live in a communication age where numerous rumours and gossips spread, filling people with hate or fear, how we handle what our ears hear affects even our faith, for faith comes by hearing Romans 10:17. If we are not careful to discern what we hear about God or others in the present world, we may be led astray without knowing it.

God wants us to be so careful about what we say that there is a command against false accusation, Exodus 20:16; 23:1 you shall not raise a false report nor bear false witness. If you are not sure about something keep quiet about it, even if others speak about it.

What did John the Baptist testify, John.1.29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! There is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Number 2. Jesus mentions the Father

John.5.36 - But I have a greater witness than John--my teachings and my miracles. They have been assigned to me by the Father, and they testify that the Father has sent me.

Jesus was sent NOT as an incarnation of God or of any god descending in human form
Incarnation an idea that the flesh and Jesus are different thereby disbelieving that the word became flesh and that Jesus came in the flesh by believing he only dwelt in flesh and left it and ascended meanwhile Jesus rose and is at the right side of God with his body of which we are a part of, the body of Christ

37 - And the Father himself has also testified about me. You have never heard his voice or seen him face to face,
38 - and you do not have his message in your hearts, because you do not believe me--the one he sent to you.

Jesus says the reason people don't believe him to be the Messiah but like some accuse him of claiming to be God or equal to God.

Number 3, Jesus mentions the scriptures, especially the Torah written by Moses

John.5.39 - "You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!
40 - Yet you refuse to come to me so that I can give you this eternal life.
41 - "Your approval or disapproval means nothing to me,
42 - because I know you don't have God's love within you.
43 - For I have come to you representing my Father, and you refuse to welcome me, even though you readily accept others who represent only themselves.
44 - No wonder you can't believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don't care about the honor that comes from God alone.

Don't you just like how Jesus says God alone like Moses wrote.

John.5.45 - "Yet it is not I who will accuse you of this before the Father. Moses will accuse you! Yes, Moses, on whom you set your hopes.
46 - But if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me because he wrote about me.
47 - And since you don't believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?"

Moses who wrote about the Messiah never called him God.

For this very reason I was being persecuted and called a liar right

Let's read because it's not only in Luke 6 Jesus spoke concerning accepting children of God is accepting him and accepting him is accepting God.

Matt.10.40 - "He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

To receive and accept a person is to honor and respect them.

Now Luke also wrote Luke.10.16 Then he said to the disciples, "Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God who sent me."

Now this may have led to the oh why isn't in my name here but did Jesus come in his own name and not in God's name. He is hailed, blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. So what does coming in a name mean?

Let's look at John 5

John.5.23 - so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. But if you refuse to honor the Son, then you are certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.
John.5.24 - "I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.

So to honor Jesus is to believe and accept him as the son of God thereby honoring God who sent him

The truth is, is Jesus to be worshipped? YES but is he to be worshipped as a god? NO. No where in revelations is the lamb worshipped as a god.

In the same John 5, Jesus was correcting the misconceptions and accusations from the phrasisees that he was making himself equal to God by saying he has nothing of himself and that all he has he received from our Father God. Jesus does what God our Father shows him that He is doing, so God is honored for doing good, so also Jesus who does the same is honored and what exactly is this about, it is about eternal life, to judge those who will receive eternal life that is the good works shown to Jesus given to him, as he is appointed our Messiah...

If anyone accuses you of your eyes been covered because you reject that Jesus is God and not just the revealed son of God

You should remain that the veil is mentioned in Hebrews 6:19,9:3 as what separates people from God which was the practice of the old covenant, a veil that torn at the death of Jesus recorded in Mark 15:38.

So how and when does the veil hide that Jesus the son of God is God? So a veil is making people not to, like Paul wrote in 2 corinthains 3 from verse 14, not to believe in Jesus but hold unto the old covenant but according to Emusan the veil prevents people from seeing that Jesus is God, problem is Paul never wrote that in 2 Corinthians 3:14-18 or does the veil hide who the Father is?
Let's not go to far, because there's another veil the one Moses covered his face with, who saw the back of God and heard God's word and this was only possible because God covered him and then the reason Moses wore a veil to cover God's glory that reflected on his face and all that is recorded in the Torah

Anyway, the veil can only be removed by believing in Christ
2Cor.3.16 Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are--face to face! 17 They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We're free of it! 18 All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him. (MSB)

You I wish I could mention the verses about this whole veil and Moses entering God's presence and removing the veil.

Now this passage in 2 Corinthians 3 is a blessing to us, it's not about Jesus being God but about us believing in Jesus and turning to God, like Paul wrote in verse 4, "through Christ to God" do we then get transformed into the same image, you know Jesus the image of God, who isn't God but the image of God, we transform to the image of God and not transform to God.



And also if they tell you Jesus said that he is to be worshipped as God, note Jesus is to be worshipped as the lamb of God as our Lord, our husband.

Something they may say, "from Jesus very own mouth "so that everyone will honor the Son, JUST AS THEY HONOR THE FATHER. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him." John 5:20"


Now Jesus also said what you give to these little ones you give to me, that doesn't make them, or us, Jesus. Those who honor those sent by JESUS honor him, and those who honor Jesus honor the Father who sent him.

Luke.9.48 and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great." let me just drop one verse instead of listing all the verses in the gospel this is recorded.




Now does it end here, what if they say well honoring others is in the name of Jesus you don't honor Jesus in the name of the Father, you just honor Jesus as you honor the Father, so it's the same honor.

Ask, honor your father and your mother, does it mean honor your mother as your father? Now if you honor your mother as your honor your father, you honor her as your mother.

When someone tells you
"1 John 5:20 actually proved Jesus is THE TRUE God.

The same John wrote in 1 John 1: 2 "Yes, the one who is life was to us. We saw him, and so we can tell others about him. We now tell you about him. He is the eternal life that was with God the Father and was shown to us."

John actually said here that Jesus is The very ETERNAL LIFE"

First read the Bible and what is actually written and testified

1John.5.20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we are in God because we are in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. (NLT)

One is the true God our Father and the other is our eternal life. This isn't the only time God and Jesus is mentioned and people take it as God is Jesus, God and our Savior, God with the Word, which other one, God and our Lord similar examples can be found in the new testament or when God speaks then Jesus speaks like in Revelation 22. Now to understand the author we have to look at what John as written as well

John.17.3 - And this is the way to have eternal life--to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.

Now we also have to consider how does Jesus who was life in God as written by John even in John.1.4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. (NKJV) become God? when the life is or was our light while he was in the world?

In the Father was the Son who is the life that is the light to us.

The very 1 John 1:2 says the life was with the Father, was with God and not that He is God, yet some claim it is prove?

1John.1.2 - This one who is life from God was shown to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and announce to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was shown to us.
.3 We are telling you about what we ourselves have actually seen and heard, so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

Oh so verse 5 says God is light, personal that verse means God is in light and isn't in darkness but then Ps.84.11 For the LORD God is our light and protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will the LORD withhold from those who do what is right.

As some translation put it Ps.84.11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. (NKJV)

Now does that mean the sun or a sun is God?

That's why John wrote 1John.1.7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (NIV) so the he here is God, his son being Jesus.


Understand that Paul wrote
1Tim.6.15 - For at the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
1Tim.6.16 - He alone can never die, and he lives in light so brilliant that no human can approach him. No one has ever seen him, nor ever will. To him be honor and power forever. Amen.

But here we have people believing that God died on a cross because they believe God is light, and Jesus said I am the light. I say it even if God is light, even if He is a consuming fire or even a spirit like He makes his angels to be, none of it, none of them is YHVH GOD.
