One thing I've discovered is that only very few countries depend on mineral resources have equal and balanced personal prosperity, only a few prosper, majority are in penury and the fight for control? Bloody!!

My parents got free quality education that has rubbed off on their children, now we have to pay crazy amounts to get little kids into kindergarten in this day and age!!!

Oil money is easy money but like most free things, it encouraged mental laziness, hence we are where we are today..
Exactly because these mineral resources are not renewable and when their prices fluctuate, you are in deep poo, only renewable resources and sectors grow economy and make citizens of a country prosperous like Transportation, imagine the forex emirates and ethiopian airlines are generating for their countries, railways open up villages and transform them to big towns and cities. Real estate is booming in UAE, kenya is generating forex and employment exporting rose flowers and vegetables, look at what mtn is doing for south africa, zuma had to come and beg PMB for mtn. Hajj has become a major component of saudi arabia economy. Tourism is flourishing in kenya and south africa. Education is adding value to UK, canada and Australian economies

Oil is a curse and will never bring development, the oil communities in Nigeria are wasting their time, the fishes and shrimps [Nigerian shrimps ranks among world's best] in the niger delta will bring more employment and better their lives if only they are wise.

I want to believe you have use some of your Brian's..
GEJ was president for 5 years and I neva heard him say or feel that his people should get more than others..or he ia angry because the north didn't vote him
remba the north consistently voted PmB with 12-13million votes from 2003.in 2015 he got 2million more votes from West and north central to win...
So has GEJ or OBJ in all of these times ever feel or say something like some people are 97%others are 5%? pls use your brains...
Lies, how many Yoruba got appointments under GEJ compared to his brothers from the SS and SE, you guys problem is that you forget so easily.

GEJ was a bigot if not he would have been re-elected

Then President Buhari is Not a Politician and can't rule a complex nation like Nigeria.
Now he knows we hate him, let him let us be...
We wanna be all by ourself...
He should rule those who Love him (North and SW) and leave Us to control our resources.
You can't Hate us and want our Crude...No way!
I understand the Yorubas are pained because they have no resource to control...
Remember you have lands for Cocoa farming.
statements like these are the reason you guys are not politically smart, yorubas have always been advocates of resource control and the best beneficiaries so far and as a matter of fact are secretly praying for regional government cos it will be to their greatest advantage. But posts like yours are the reason a yoruba man may never support anyone again from across the niger. You keep throwing insults at people and want them to support your candidate when elections come, how wise you guys are and when you lost out, you then start crying to pull out of Nigeria

One thing I'm wondering is ; Did this system of government just become a "current" thing? This false "federalism" we practice, the act of granting few individuals licences to prosper at the expense of the well being of every other person..

I agree with this in principle but simply because i know for a fact that the elites (both north and south) who maintain a choke hold on the prosperity of the nation will never ever ever ever allow a peaceful unraveling of this unholy alliance, i don't see it ever ending well... Peaceful unbundling ? Not going to happen, they will get mercenaries and fight to the death, Carnage and destruction is what i see.....

I am a product of OAU and ever since i saw what Cocoa got SW before the oil curse, i've always wondered how and where SW could have been if the black curse hadn't been discovered in Nigeria...

Aguiyi Ironsi did this nation a whole lot of damage..
we would have been better off today without oil dear, we are finding it difficult to move on and develop because of the oil and owners of the oil.

Cursed be the day oil was discovered in Nigeria cos that was when we starting growing backwards.

Ohakim was disgraced out.Rochas was lucky cos no lesser evil option was available to replace him with.

Ohakim had it worse only that you didn't take notice cos he wasn't in APC.
I knew Ohakim's case was that bad especially when he beat up a catholic priest but in all I think Imo people should choose their next governor wisely and hold him accountable like they are doing for Okorocha though in a very harsh way which I think its not too fair. I think Okorocha deserve some commendation, even in rivers state some still admit amaechi did well in first term. We shouldn't allow politics of bitterness to overlook some positive sides of our Governors. People say all sorts against Tinubu but he laid the foundation upon which fasola and ambode are building upon today. The likes of akpabio tried, past governor of enugu tried, amosun is trying, mimiko did well first term, aregbesola tried first term, truth is if we have more governors like these men in their good days, Nigeria will be better off. States like delta am not sure have been fortunate. Thank you Sir.

The masses are no fools and when elected leaders give their best the masses will defend them.

Its not even as if the Nigerian masses demand much from her politicians.

Dee Sam raised the standard of leadership in imo state and no politician is yet to get close to such.

Go to the streets of imo and see how Dee Sam and papilo are celebrated. May the soul of Dee Sam continue to rest in peace.amin.
then why are you guys so hard on Okorocha, even his predecessor never had this kind of animosity and what is even the hope that his successor will get to the height of Deesam, Sir whatever is happening in Imo state is also common to other states as well, Can we say any governor in the sw has gotten to the standard of Awolowo? Definitely not but I think you guys should take it easy on Okorocha, even the former governor of abia state who is now a senator is not getting these hard knocks like Okorocha is getting. na beg I de beg una.

The Northerners who displayed open hatred to Jonathan and even went on rampage killing Corp members when he won in 2011, were they marginalized by Jonathan? Did Jonathan go on stage to tell them how many percentage of attention he will give them. That Buhari is a very wicked unforgiving man and should be paid back in his coins.
oh, there were no killings down south here during 2015 elections abi? we know the NDA is all about avenging the 2015 elections, reason some of us don't give a damn any longer.

Many states didn't vote Obama in his first tenure yet he didn't victimize any section of the control cos he needed their patriotism and support.

U now don't want to be politically correct rather justifies his hatred on his human limitations regards to him feeling hated by SE/SS. Continue
of course nah, GEJ and his wife too never said statements against any region ad he never victimized anyone throughout his tenure as far as you guys are concerned, never did anything wrong grin

Jonathan did nothing for the SE and very little for his own SS.... I can't even pin point one single project, The northerners never liked Jonathan and they made it known, but his cabinet was shared equally and Major projects where all up north, am not clamouring for Buhari to take such route, but they is intelligence in what he did, that is why the only reason we hold against Jonathan today is Corruption.

it is logic, that is the best way to eliminate opposition, PDP seems stronger today because the are working on the minds of the SS & SE.
we still have a chance to eliminate opposition if we go back to the drawing board, if we continue like this, we should take note that APC would have disgruntled members (dele momodu), break-aways (saraki & Dogara), and those who don't believe in the combination anymore, while the opposition remains because we did not address their issue. also noting your either APC or PDP come election 2019.
Oga the SS and SE won't get anywhere politically if they don't respect the political make up of other regions, the guys you are mentioning that will break away are political feather weights. The SS and SE will continue to be PDP and be crying marginalization without political tact and diplomacy. You can't throw insults on an entire region and expect them to vote for you when elections come, I see fellows complaining of PMB's 5% remarks, they forgot when GEJ's wife as first lady called the northerners [made up of three regions] born throw away children'. She even said at a time that PMB was brain dead. Yes let's continue insulting each other and be crying for so called inclusiveness.

I agree with you bros, the yorubas voted for GEJ whole heartedly in 2011 and was even responsible for his becoming acting president when turai yar adua held us to ransom after her husband died, the SS and SE were no where to be found then with some of them even supporting turai. But Jonathan got there and betrayed the yorubas while the SS and SE who were no where to be found earlier suddenly found their voices and even the SE gave a new name to GEJ, ebele. Am saying this because we forget so easily especially those saying that yorubas betrayed jonathan. The entire south voted GEJ in 2011 with the hope that before power returns to the north, it will take a very long time but Jonathan messed up the opportunity by turning the igbos against the yorubas and deepened the mistrust among southerners today. It will be difficult for the southerners to forget party affiliation, we have hurt each other so much due to the careless of our leaders down here. You are very right with your postualtions, pdp stand a bright chance in 2023 though if they are not disbanded by then but you are very right.

Buhari had the power and support of the North and Sw, all he needed to do was to draw the SS and SE, despite how the election result tilted, if only he had shown equal love, he would have Nigeria at his palms because showing EQUAL love to all Nigerians even when some didn't vote you cripples that region from opposition totally..

How come SS and SE are crying more that PDP Politicians? because they feel marginalized
How Biafra is now very known internationally? because they feel marginalized
How come the militants are up in arms? because they feel marginalized

and the opposition would work with the minds of the (marginalized) people.

Truth be told, I love Buhari no doubt and believe him, but at this rate, we would crash eventually.

THAT STATEMENT OF 97% AND 5% KILLED THIS ADMINISTRATION.

MATT 12 VS 25 - "Any country that divides itself into groups which fight each other will not last very long"

Nigeria is Divided on so many lines today, Political/Religious/Tribal/Regional.... God help us

The SE and SS declared public hatred for PMB during the elections campaign last year, PMB is human like everyone of us, if any group display openly their hatred for you, it will take you time to get over it easily. The SE and SS also added insult to injury by telling PMB and the whole world openly that they had no regrets supporting Jona.

The SE and SS lack political tact, the northerners who supported Jonathan all through lay low after the elections and started reaching out diplomatically to PMB, even the northerners in PDP presently are always tactful when dealing with PMB. Politics is a game and it could go either way. When its not in your side, you act diplomatically and build bridges. Our brothers across the Niger must learn and respect others even when they do not agree politically. PMB will complete his tenure and when another election time comes, every region will have their opportunity again to show their political prowess. We should stop being cry babies.

oga, there were lots of praises for okorocha during his first term which made him win second term despite his moving to the APC, I think second term Governors generally most times are not impressive, same for for even states under PDP currently but I think the animosity against Okorocha has been way over the top just like amaechi.

we need to exercise restraints at times, the likes of Dickson and mimiko are not faring too well either but I can't see that animosity against them like that of Okorocha.
