Sports › Re: Keshi Offered N168m Two-year Deal by Goke7: 11:22am On Jul 03, 2014
mikeansy: Oliseh and Garba Lawal/Mutiu should replace Amokachi

They need to expand the back room staff, scouting programme, video analyst etc

But Keshi should admit that he made mistakes in this world cup and stop playing God.

We took the following midfielders to Nations cup: Mikel Obi, Onazi, Igiebor, Ogude, Sunday Mba, Gabriel Rueben, Obiora Nwankwo

We took the following to Brazil: Mikel, Onazi, Gabriel Rueben, Azeez, Michael Babatunde, Michael Uchebo

Now there is something fundamentally wrong with the midfield we took to Brazil and we lost the match to France in the midfield. This is a mistake Keshi should admit and learn from. fact is the AFCON squad would not have lost to France because there would be credible replacement for Onazi or Mikel!

I believe that the expience in Brazil will make Keshi a better coach, but he needs to calm down, swallow the humble pie and work for the greater good of the National team football.

I admire his willingness to give youths a chance and his focus on local league. But he did not get his personnel selection right and he needs to accept responsibility for the wrong decisions he made and then promise to improve
now this is what I call constructive criticism and not the usual bashing, truly am still wondering the miracle that happened with the exclusion of igiebor who would have been a perfect replacement for onazi, this is my only grouse with keshi, apart from this am okay with keshi and all he has done for my beloved country.

Truth be told, we went to the world cup without backups for onazi and mikel which was the reason we lost to france period
Sports › Re: Foreign Coaches Scramble For Super Eagles Job by Goke7: 11:15am On Jul 03, 2014
mikeansy: Nigeria should stick to Nigeria manager

We have to take a long term view on these things

The most successful foreign manager won afcon and got us to second round of World Cup.

A Nigerian has equaled that record within a shorter time

While there have been a lot of foreign managers who have come in and failed.

There is no clear evidence that we will benefit from hiring a foreigner and quite frankly no one will hire mourinho or Wenger so what is the point?
But do we ever learn? we are surely going back to the soccer wilderness with all thiese madness
Sports › Re: Super Eagles - The Way Forward by Goke7: 11:05am On Jul 03, 2014
I just want all keshi's haters to know that the next eagles coach have to get us to the quarterfinals of the next world cup before we can pass our final verdict on keshi even if the next coach wins afcon. But hope we also know that to qualify for a world cup is no beans.

Let's stop all these arguments and see if the next coach can surpass keshi's records, until then it will be unfair to crucify keshi now!

Icon4s: KKeshi and d NFF should reach an agreement.
Keshi must nt go to SA remember we are in same grp for 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
your nff are too foolish to know that, I pity the next eagles coach, doesn't know what he's up to!
Sports › Re: Reasons Keshi Was A Failure. by Goke7: 10:40am On Jul 03, 2014
can we please stop all this hating on keshi, we are only making the job of the next eagles coach more difficult cos he's going to be under a lot of pressure. To qualify for the world cup is no longer a child's play and the next coach have to get Nigeria to the quarter final to surpass keshi which will not be easy for even a foreign coach.

Hope Onazi is OK now sha

Good luck to dem
thank you my brother osaze messed up big time, he even pulled evra up from the ground as if nothing happened moses was there watching with no protest, our players are not just crafty enough, for players who play in the biggest league in europe, its a shame to see the low level of knowledge about the game, am sure its when they saw the replay, they knew how naive they were, even the foul on onazi was without protest from our players

mikeansy: well when our players refuse to train after qualifying for second round in a world cup because of money what do you expect?

you cant ask for respect when you have no respect for you self.
very true but then we still deserve some respect from these guys, that's too unfair anyway just if the eagles win france om monday, their tongues will change

Sports › Re: Brazil 2014: No Guarantee For Keshi Yet - NFF by Goke7: 2:48pm On Nov 25, 2013
I have said it before and will repeat it again for emphasis that Keshi's greatest sin was winning the Afcon, the guys at the glass house are not happy and to add salt to injury, keshi qualified for the world cup in grand style, no need for permutations or calculator, imagine needing a draw at home or even a 1-nil loss to qualify, instead he did excellently to beat ethiopia 4-1 and went on to draw 2-2 with a world class italian team in a friendly match, they thought will expose him woefully.

Let's forget all the talk of doing well against the best in the world at the world cup, the NFF guys just want to make money at all cost by getting a foreign coach and am afraid they will go ahead unless someone very powerful like Jonathan or the entire Nigerians stop them. If you read in between the lines of what Barrister Green and the NFF President has said, these guys are already shopping for a foreign coach.

In summary, I want to ask, please what are the details of Keshi's contract? does it entail leading the team to the world cup even if he qualified? We all know about the Technical director issue a while ago when Tom sainfeit was appointed before the sports minister intervened, the NFF insisted then that it was part of Keshi''s contract. Am afraid, they will bring that issue up again in legal terms. These Guys are smart o!

The defeat Nigeria gave spain at France 98 is still painful to spain, they knew some key players were absent at the confederations cup hence they still want to revenge that defeat.
Sports › Re: FIFA To Rule That South Africa's 1-0 Victory Over Spain Never Happened. by Goke7: 8:34am On Nov 22, 2013
nstead of blaming FIFA, I think we africans are too naive when it comes to the rules of the game, if it was the other way round, I can bet that the spanish coach and players will not agree at all but instead we africans are proving too wise all in the name of fair play, the western world must really be laughing at our stupidity now, we must learn to be more professional at the game in Africa, this is one of the major reasons why its difficult for an african team to win the world cup. In the friendly between Italy and Nigeria, the italians did not take that game lightly at all because they knew it could affect their seeding when the world cup draws will be held hence the introduction of pirlo and the rest in the second half [3 subs at the same time]. Let's be more professional in Africa please

if osaze is scoring goals like ramsey in the epl, am sure he will get a call-up, keshi is not stupid, if osaze is that good, let him start scoring goals like he was doing back in west brom, but if not all this talk about osaze should cease and let's have some peace.

they were scared of defeat, they never knew the eagles had such quality to take them on, they saw that jungle don mature, hence pirlo and co had to come in. I bet you next time they play the eagles, if its possible, they may bring roberto baggio out of retirement, just kidding o lol

I now know why ameobi has been started the last two games for Newscastle, the guy was on point last nite, he has proved critics wrong.

A lot of sports journalists on radio ate their words this morning with the eagles performance last nite and those who are tearing down the defence with criticisms on this thread I think are unfair considering the fact that 3 of our back 4 are home based players who are yet to play at such a high level.

Mourinho met a very good team at chelsea but because he wants to mock and taunt benitez for winning the europa cup, which according to his arrogance chelsea should not be playing, he keeps gambling with his selection to discredit benitez, this is what is hurting chelsea now, i just hope he comes to his senses on time and do the right thing. its all politics and its not working for chelsea at all.

Sports › Re: Keshi Releases 25-man List For Ethiopia And Italy Matches. by Goke7: 8:52am On Nov 04, 2013
dabossman: For folks asking Keshi to bring in players he has never worked with into the squad for these two games, you need to understand that the games are too close together for the coach to take that gamble. Its easy to say use one set for Ethiopia and the other for Italy; but what happens if a day to the Ethiopia clash, a Mikel, Emenike or say Moses cops an injury? Would the coach want to now throw in a Haruna, Azeez, Imoh or Aluko into a crucial WC qualifier at the expense of players whose capabilities he knows already? What would we say of him if those players were to freeze on the big occassion or they fail to gel with the rest of the team?
Thank you very much for your matured views, we are just too much in a hurry in this country, Keshi is just sticking to the core of the team that qualified and won the Nations cup and played the world cup qualifiers so far so as not to disrupt the balance and unity of the team ahead of a crucial world cup qualifier [a lot of Nigerians feel we've qualified for the world cup but hey its still one game to go] if the italian gmae was a month away, am sure keshi would have brought in fresh legs]

Keshi is just being cautious by not changing a winning team, in the friendly games leading to the world cup, am sure we'll see some fresh legs, let's be patient please bringing in fresh legs even if they play for barca and bayern who don't know these ethiopians could spell disaster, this is african football for God's sake

hairbraiding: yeah Goke, you are right.

If the country was losing matches, then suddenly big budgets would appear. MILLIONS would immediately be allocated to get the best coach.

But now everything is going fine, so.. who cares? So sad. Same story, over and over again.

Achievers are frustrated, why big time mess-ups keep "peppersouping" grin

I will continue to say this that the greatest sin keshi has ever committed was winning the Afcon, the NFF guys still can't come to terms with that, keshi has pour sand into their garri cos by now we should have a foreign coach from where they can make all their money through:

1.the interview and selection of the coach by constituting a committee headed by probably that agbaya chief onigbinde who will always criticize nigerian coaches. The interview will be in London or any European country [enough estacode for committee members]

2. Hotel bills incurred by the foreign coach by lodging him in Sheraton or transcorp where they will connive with the hotel management to siphon money from the Government. That is why no official accommodation will be provided.

3. Kickbacks from the foreign coach to the Nff guys after his appointment and a percentage cut from his monthly salary. This will determine the coach that will get the job after an agreement between both parties, that is why a mediocre white coach can be appointed. Most indigenous coaches will not agree to this.

That is why even after winning the afcon, they still wanted to appoint a foreign technical director, it was the reaction of Nigerians and the sports minister that forced Nff to appoint an indigenous coach, amodu into that position to save face.

Nff will continue to punish keshi for winning the afcon, Let's remember that Herve Renard [former Zambian coach] has already been appointed before the game against Ivory Coast. This was why in one of the press conference during afcon, keshi was criticising and opposing the appointment of foreign coaches in africa.

Let's forget it, Keshi will never be paid even if he wins the world cup! My advise to keshi is to dump Nigeria next year [like westerhof did in 1994] after the world cup whether he achieves anything in Brazil or not. I commend his patriotism, many politicians and Nigeria don't love Nigeria that much.

Gondar: boy, don't need your pity. Pity your team cos a big fight is coming in calabar...you must be a fool to think we came this far and leave without a fight undecided. In fact..it will be nasty.
I wonder when ethiopians got into this forum with their arrant nonsense, please you failed to give to big fight in addis ababa and you think you are coming to fight in calabar even when your coach has said he wants to retire and spends time with his family.

Please don't provoke the eagles too much, this was what Liberia was doing just because they drew with nigeria in monrovia, they even chartered a plane to nigeria bringing supporters and they were spanked 6-1, a word is enough for the wise. Be warned.

hairbraiding: Really sad that the NFF will keep playing games with serious issues. This Boss has given you the African nations cup n is on point to the world cup, so RESPECT HIM AND PAY HIM. End of story

http:///4jccb
The reason why he will never be paid, winning the afcon, keshi has also complicated matters by qualifying for the world cup, imagine needing just a draw or a 1-nil loss at home to qualify for the world cup where the likes of france and portugal are not even sure of their chances.

KESHI WILL NEVER BE PAID, NFF IS NOT HAPPY. They keep making excuses that they are broke to lie to the Public.

Sports › Re: We Can Make Things Difficult For Nigeria - Ethiopian Coach Warns by Goke7: 8:58am On Oct 23, 2013
COOLDUN: For those of us who are conversant with the Nigeria football history, we should seize this opportunity to advice the Super Eagles Handler and the players to take the return leg very serious in order to avoid the repetition of what happened in 1977/1978 to our Green Eagles then who needed only a draw to qualify to the World Cup In Argentina 1978, but lost the match at the National stadium Surulere to an own goal by the best defender Nigeria had that time Godwin Odiye.

After the Green Eagles first Leg brilliant performance in Tunis, we started celebrating and ignored a warning like this man, our players were carried away by their performance in Tunis , i could remember one of the Journalists then writing that Nigeria were about to walk the Tunisians over in the pitch that day, but what happened at last? That day became a black Saturday, my father slept without eating his dinner even refused to go to work on the Monday that week. In fact he was traumatized because of the un expected loss of the match.

If you watched that match in Adisababa you would know that the Ethiopians outplayed the Super Eagles but later lost gallantly. They might play a distracting role in Nigeria hence they are not having anything to lose. Our Super Eagles is tactically better than them but that should not make us to take their threats for granted. Football is round no one knows it all. Nothing is impossible in the game of football.

I love our patriotism when it comes to the game of football but all hands should be on deck my people, we need the victory it must surely come at the end but let us not forget about the past histories that taught us sad lessons.

Super Eagles, Please prepare well both mentally and physically for the second encounter, Kenya played us draw at Calabar when we all were expecting them to be roasted. 1 0 in Ethiopia's favor will drag the match to the penalty shootout which might go either side.

Up Super Eagles!! Good Luck!!
I do share your views but one thing we must know is that the mentality with which this present eagles play with is what gives Nigerians the confidence that we would always win, the present eagles do not give up or give in easily to their opponents, you must be better than them in all departments of the game to beat the present eagles. the previous eagles with the likes of yobo, yakubu and co would have lost to even kenya in nairobi talk less of ethiopia in addis ababa, this present eagles fight to the end of 90mins, we were just unlucky in the confederations cup with the absence of guys like onazi and emenike.

the eagles will definitely score in calabar which will make things more difficult for ethiopia, the game against kenya was a one-off and almost all the players have never been to the world cup before including mikel, you will be surprised how early the players will arrive for this match, they know it is important for their carerr as most of our players are finding it difficult to establish themselves in their various clubs.

The Eagles are surely already in brazil
