1. Original Sufferhead (1981)

Fela describes the life of the average Nigerian who is constantly suffering, but smiling through the pain, believing in the rewards that await them in the afterlife due to the teachings of religious leaders, who themselves live the most lavish lives, enjoying the so-called earthly pleasures. He warns people to open their eyes to this injustice and stop being blind followers of religion.

Things haven’t changed much today, as people still blindly follow religion (and religious leaders), without necessarily understanding its true meaning.

3. International Thief Thief (I.T.T.) (1980)

Fela uses the abbreviation of International Telephone & Telegraph (IT&T) to directly attack the company’s CEO, Moshood Abiola, and other politicians like Obasanjo who continuously betray the continent and their fellow Africans in their bid to get rich off the white man’s wealth.

This song is relevant in today’s world as seen in the violence that goes on in the Niger Delta as a result of the insufficient resources and recognition that the region is given despite being the major supplier of oil and the bulk of the county’s wealth.
Politicians are still looting, extorting and selling out their people in their bid to get richer.

4. Authority Stealing (1980)

This song, like may others, talks about how the government steals and loots the country’s resources daily and goes unpunished, while the petty thief gets killed and burned on a daily basis. For him, the people in authority are just civilized thieves who get away with their crimes because of their position.

Our government still steals from us and feeds us lies and we let them get away with it. The petty thief gets thrown in jail while the political robbers remain scot free and given liberty to continue looting.

5. Coffin for Head of State (1981)

This song also condemns politicians. Here, he speaks about the corruption that abounds in religion, especially by hypocritical leaders like Obasanjo and Yar’adua. These leaders were the most corrupt people in the world, killing and stealing from innocent people, yet they openly condemn such activities and hide behind Christianity and Islam.

Today, we still see a great deal of corruption and hypocrisy in the guise of leadership and religion. Our leaders are still stealing from us, but yet are the quickest to attend church programs and quote bible verses.

6. Beasts Of No Nation (1989)

This song talks about the many unusual happenings in the country and how the citizens all behave like crazy people. It touches political, economic, social matters and talks about the silence of the Nigeria people against government oppression and brutality while speaking up against apathy in foreign nations like South Africa. According to him, these could only happen in a crazy world.

This song remains relevant today as the same hypocrisy and silence in the face of government injustice is still the order of the day in our beloved country and continent as a whole.

7. Yellow Fever (1971)

In this song, Fela warns about the dangers of skin bleaching that was becoming a trend for women. He lists the many unappealing aspects of bleaching and tells women that they were better off leaving their skin in its natural form.

Today, bleaching has become even more rampant than in the times of Fela. According to the World Health Organization, Nigeria has the highest number of women in the world who use skin-lightening products.

8. Teacher Don’t Teach Me Nonsense (1980)

This song highlights the fact that the white man seems to be living our lives for us, while they make their own decisions based on their culture and tradition. The white man, instead of condemning the bad leadership that goes on here, overlooks them while doing the exact opposite in their own countries.
He condemns the so-called democracy and begs Africans to open their eyes and realize that they are being misled and stolen from.

Today, instead of drawing away from the chains of colonialism, we still rely on foreign countries to help us make some of our major decisions and try to imitate every aspect of their lives, forgetting our cultures and traditions in the process.

9. Colonial Mentality (1977)

He speaks about the fact that Africans have colonial mentality and still live in the past despite having gained independence. They embrace everything foreign and believe theirs to be inferior, from basic things like food and clothes down to their names and religious practices.

This song is still very relevant today, as Africans in general would rather purchase foreign made products and would use foreign names instead of their traditional ones.Even Presidents go for treatment in foreign countries instead of developing their own health care system .

10. Confusion Break Bone (1990)

This song talks about the confusion that abides in the country and the lack or proper organisation. His tone here sounds sadder and more resigned to the fact that things might never get better for the country. He highlights all the problems he had mentioned in his earlier songs and says that nothing has changed and wonders at the insanity of things.

Nothing has changed today. The country is still in a permanent state of disorderliness and disunity. The government still gets away with being corrupt and unjust, and the innocent man still gets punished for crimes committed.

Are we going to say that PDP leaders are dumb?
How do they think that street protest will have any effect on a concluded election where certificate of return is already handed to a declared winner.

I believe the legal department of PDP must have advised the lost minded leadership of the party without them listening.

My advice to the leaders of pdp is that they should assemble their legal team to do the real battle in law court rather than playing to the gallery on the street.

Lagos State is developing everyday and night. Other states don't have to want competition with Lagos.

Naturally, development will flow to other states of Nigeria. We only need to have more infrastructurer development from our government at state capitals and some selected towns to make life more easier around the country.

Dino Melaye is always too childish. Dino is never a serious fellow.
If people take a closer look on this pictures, you can make deduction and addition.

But why should a senator protesting against lost election on the street after a certificate of return has already been issued.

The result just declared today in Osun by the Independent National Electoral Commission in favour of the All Progressives Congress and its candidate is a travesty of justice. That was not democracy. That was a demonstration of tyranny.

The victory of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was firmly established last week on Saturday the 22nd of September, 2018.

This so-called victory of the APC is not a democratic victory. Observers, both foreign and domestic, reported the brazen intimidation of voters and outright suppression of voting in PDP strongholds with even PDP agents physically prevented from being at the polling units.

These actions showed to the whole world that this unnecessary rerun, in polling units cancelled or voided by the INEC, was nothing more than a red herring, to distract attention and gain time, while the ruling party perfected strategies to pull a fast one on the electorate, as it has done today.

I wish to say to Senator Ademola Adeleke and the good people of Osun State that I stand with you today and tomorrow in your time of need. I will not be presumptuous to tell you what to do. But what I can tell you is that whatever you choose to do, I will be with you both in word and in action.

Furthermore, I call on the international community not to stand idly by while democracy is being trampled upon. Nigeria is a very unique nation. We are very strategic to Africa in terms of population and location. A destabilised Nigeria will destabilise Africa and this must never be allowed to happen.

Thus, the international community must intervene to ensure that what happened in Osun must be investigated, reversed and prevented from spilling over to other gubernatorial, legislative and national elections.

Finally, I call on Nigerians to be on guard. The APC has shown its hand. It is the leprous hand of a tyrant. Therefore we must be alert in future elections, for as Thomas Paine said “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE OF HATRED
I had the privilege of attending some meetings of the Yoruba and Igbo Leaders. I was not a leader but a youth who knew how to wash his hands. At one of those meetings in Owerri, I think in 1989, I think, I listened to Uncle Bola Ige and other Yoruba Leaders take the likes of Mbakwe, R. B. Okafor and others to the cleaners when the Igbo said the Yoruba were betrayers, citing that Chief Obafemi Awolowo led them into secession with a promise that if the Igbo left Nigeria, the Yoruba would follow suit. They accused him of not following up on his promise. Trust Uncle Bola Ige! He pointed to Chief Mbakwe and said, "you were there in the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu as I was. Is that statement correct?".He turned to two other Igbo and two Yoruba Leaders who were at that meeting and asked the same question, saying he had transcripts of the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu. They kept quiet while the Yoruba Leaders affirmed that Awolowo never promised to follow the East into secession. What he said was that if the Igbo were "driven" out of Nigeria the Yoruba would take it seriously and reassess their own position. Igbo Leaders DID NOT CONTEST this version. Then Chief Bola Ige threw in the clincher! "Who are you to accuse the Yoruba of betrayal?" he roared, and continued:
1. At Independence Awolowo offered a joint government between the NCNC and AG, with Zik as Prime Minister and Awo as Finance Minister. Awo and Zik "were still negotiating" when it was announced that Zik would be President in a coalition with NPC of the North. The East then collaborated in destroying the West and sending Awolowo and his leutenants to jail!
2. What of the 1965 elections which the West and the East agreed to boycott? We met all night and reached agreement about 3am on the day of the election. In the morning, while the Yoruba boycotted the election, the Igbo went to vote
3. After the 1979 elections Yoruba (UPN) and Igbo (APP?) Leaders were still at the negotiating table for a coalition when to their surprise, an announcement was heard that the Igbo (APP) had agreed to a coalition with the North (NPN)
4. After the 1979 elections, 1983 repeated itself. Not giving up, Awolowo reached out to Azikiwe again for cooperation. Talks started and they met in Benin where Awo pleaded passionately that only a collaboration between The Igbo and the Yoruba could save Nigeria. They didn't reach agreement but promised to meet again. Before the next meeting, the Igbo had again teamed up with the North
Uncle Bola paused and then continued "we can go on and on. So how dare you accuse the Yoruba of betrayal? How many Igbo have been killed in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Oshogbo (he mentioned other Yoruba towns)? You have your businesses in the West and went to Western schools. Yet you count the Yoruba as your enemy. You get killed in Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Zaria etc and have your goods looted yet you consider the Hausa/ Fulani your friends. It's your choice. If you want to be slaves for ever, we can't help you"
I had never been so scared in my life. I thought the roof was going to fall. There was a pin drop silence and no Igbo dared interrupt Uncle Bola Ige because he was telling the truth. The Yoruba Leaders ended the meeting at that point and left. I hope Chief C. O. Adebayo's memoirs will give more details of those exchanges.
Now to make three points from all this:
A. The Yoruba have been stretching their hand across the Niger for a handshake for a long time. The Igbo refused to take it for a long time until recently
B. Many Igbo Leaders of the 70s, 80s and 90s deliberately perpetrated the legend of Awolowo's role betraying them into the civil war and his role in prosecuting the war, to rally the Igbo population behind themselves. The Igbo agreed on Yoruba hatred than on any other issue. So it was the fabric that held them together for a long time
C. Time heals all things. Many Igbo reading this will be hearing for the first time that their leaders of old knew for a truth that Awolowo did not break his word to Ojukwu as alleged. And to think of it, EVEN IF OUR PARENTS QUARRELLED, SHOULD WE THE NEW GENERATION CONTINUE THE SAME WAY?. ITS TIME TO COME TOGETHER AND MAKE THE HANDSHAKE ACROSS THE NIGER WORK FOR THE SAKE OF OUR PEOPLE AND NIGERIA

However, she did her best before felling into Nigerians muddy and contaminated political atmosphere.

When Jonathan was President, Ita Ekpeyong was the head of DSS.

Therefore, if OBJ could have someone he trusted from his region and Jonathan chose someone he trusted from his region too, so why do you expect PMB to retain someone who he couldn’t trust to head his personal security team from other region, knowing the kind of politics of hatred and bitterness we are playing in this country? More especially when he was nearly killed in Aso Villa.

Let’s be honest, fair and sincere to ourselves. Also let’s learn to respect our laws and constitution. That’s what the law says and no ethnic bigotry can change that.

Whatever is causing grieving between Ambode and Tinubu must be considered for peaceful resolution.

Tinubu must not allow enemies to laugh at him.
I hope Lagos State is not going to witness the same scenario of 1991 when Michael Otedola, Femi's father capitalized on the brouhaha in SDP.
SDP was the party on ground in Lagos and it's a sure banker that who ever win the gubernatorial primary of the party is the next governor of Lagos.
Everything went wrong in SDP. Otedola of NRC was favoured by electorates.
Otedola became Lagos State governor simply because of infighting in the popular party.
Femi Otedola is pretty good too, to benefit from another mistake of today's popular party.

Fayose is the best comedian in power. As for his presidential aspirations, he knows from day one that the permutations on ground did not favour him. Even if he is quite qualified.

Why Atiku weep; and probably why the weeping will continue?

Atiku plotted the illegitimate election of Bukola Saraki as President of the Senate by conspiring with the PDP which means betraying his “then Party, APC”. He contributed heavily for the huge maintenance of the Senators to help Saraki undermine Buhari’s administration.

He contributed heavily in the compromised of the judiciary to get Saraki off the hooks of corruption cases.

He worked on Tambuwal to bring Dogara on board of their political chase board by getting the House of Reps to be on the same page with Saraki in his antagonistic project against President Buhari. Atiku continued financing the PDP and undermining the APC.

In all these calculations, Saraki and Tambuwal had made him to believe that they were working for him to be the Presidential candidate. Particularly so, when they over heated the polity and saturated the atmosphere with fake news and hate speeches.

Atiku defected to PDP and from the onset, he considered himself as the anointed candidate. Now that he has been paid with his own coin—-betrayal shrouded in blind ambition. He cannot stomach Saraki being appointed leader of PDP with the National Chairman attending his declaration. He cannot stomach Tambuwal contesting.

Atiku can feel within himself that getting the PDP is a Herculean Tasks. His journey into jumping to another party as he is known for, seems to have come to an end.

He was devastated by the fake news of his joining APGA. The fake news was circulated by the Saraki camp. MORE TEARS WILL CERTAINLY FLOW FROM ATIKU’s EYES �!!! We are watching
