The inspector general of police is allowed to use his /her discretion on who he consider as constituting risks to the orderliness of the conduct of elections. Fayose utterances and actions warranted that police be withdrawn from him for that Fourty eight hours. |
IamLabbyRich:Yes, Ambode will win |
There are extant law guiding the conduct of elections. Where the margin between the leading candidate and the runner up is less than voided votes, a rerun is inevitable. This is an established law that must be observed by the electoral umpire. |
ladiesreject:Simply because you probably don't know what the extant law guiding the conduct of elections is saying. Declaration of elections inconclusive is not a matter of Buhari government, it is what the law says. |
moscobabs:God bless you more for this true analysis of the subject matter. We will only continue to see the truth and trying to run away from the truth. Out of every single girls available today, 4 out of 10 will marry a sweet bachelor who is really ready and prepared for family lives. The remaining 6 ,some will marry but the marriage will not be able to survive due to a lot of questions about living a dream life. Some will end up as baby mama to unserious boy. Some will remain single till their time and terms expired. The best solution and options remains polygamy. |
All comments about Boko Haram been technically defeated was correct at a certain time. The cause of all the new attacks is due to the fact that our Armed Forces did not follow up with their initial success on the battlefield. Boko Haram and their sponsors took time to retreat and reflect. What we are seeing today is the result of that time of retreat and reflection. Boko Haram type of war is not an ordinary war with orderliness. It's a tough war with many life line. Too many sources of logistics and supplies. Nigeria Armed Forces must look inward and outward. Ready for real battle on the field and gathering of intelligence must be going on with the best of our officers in intelligent dept. This Boko Haram issues can outlives three regimes of government, the way we are going about it. |
VERY HISTORIC PIECE Copied from "FRIENDS IKOYI CLUB 1938" Forum posted by Adenike Marinho, a Medical Doctor. Tunde Oduwole, I-QS. 14.06.'18. HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE OF HATRED I had the privilege of attending some meetings of the Yoruba and Igbo Leaders. I was not a leader but a youth who knew how to wash his hands. At one of those meetings in Owerri, I think in 1989, I think, I listened to Uncle Bola Ige and other Yoruba Leaders take the likes of Mbakwe, R. B. Okafor and others to the cleaners when the Igbo said the Yoruba were betrayers, citing that Chief Obafemi Awolowo led them into secession with a promise that if the Igbo left Nigeria, the Yoruba would follow suit. They accused him of not following up on his promise. Trust Uncle Bola Ige! He pointed to Chief Mbakwe and said, "you were there in the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu as I was. Is that statement correct?".He turned to two other Igbo and two Yoruba Leaders who were at that meeting and asked the same question, saying he had transcripts of the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu. They kept quiet while the Yoruba Leaders affirmed that Awolowo never promised to follow the East into secession. What he said was that if the Igbo were "driven" out of Nigeria the Yoruba would take it seriously and reassess their own position. Igbo Leaders DID NOT CONTEST this version. Then Chief Bola Ige threw in the clincher! "Who are you to accuse the Yoruba of betrayal?" he roared, and continued: 1. At Independence Awolowo offered a joint government between the NCNC and AG, with Zik as Prime Minister and Awo as Finance Minister. Awo and Zik "were still negotiating" when it was announced that Zik would be President in a coalition with NPC of the North. The East then collaborated in destroying the West and sending Awolowo and his leutenants to jail! 2. What of the 1965 elections which the West and the East agreed to boycott? We met all night and reached agreement about 3am on the day of the election. In the morning, while the Yoruba boycotted the election, the Igbo went to vote 3. After the 1979 elections Yoruba (UPN) and Igbo (APP?) Leaders were still at the negotiating table for a coalition when to their surprise, an announcement was heard that the Igbo (APP) had agreed to a coalition with the North (NPN) 4. After the 1979 elections, 1983 repeated itself. Not giving up, Awolowo reached out to Azikiwe again for cooperation. Talks started and they met in Benin where Awo pleaded passionately that only a collaboration between The Igbo and the Yoruba could save Nigeria. They didn't reach agreement but promised to meet again. Before the next meeting, the Igbo had again teamed up with the North Uncle Bola paused and then continued "we can go on and on. So how dare you accuse the Yoruba of betrayal? How many Igbo have been killed in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Oshogbo (he mentioned other Yoruba towns)? You have your businesses in the West and went to Western schools. Yet you count the Yoruba as your enemy. You get killed in Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Zaria etc and have your goods looted yet you consider the Hausa/ Fulani your friends. It's your choice. If you want to be slaves for ever, we can't help you" I had never been so scared in my life. I thought the roof was going to fall. There was a pin drop silence and no Igbo dared interrupt Uncle Bola Ige because he was telling the truth. The Yoruba Leaders ended the meeting at that point and left. I hope Chief C. O. Adebayo's memoirs will give more details of those exchanges. Now to make three points from all this: A. The Yoruba have been stretching their hand across the Niger for a handshake for a long time. The Igbo refused to take it for a long time until recently B. Many Igbo Leaders of the 70s, 80s and 90s deliberately perpetrated the legend of Awolowo's role betraying them into the civil war and his role in prosecuting the war, to rally the Igbo population behind themselves. The Igbo agreed on Yoruba hatred than on any other issue. So it was the fabric that held them together for a long time C. Time heals all things. Many Igbo reading this will be hearing for the first time that their leaders of old knew for a truth that Awolowo did not break his word to Ojukwu as alleged. And to think of it, EVEN IF OUR PARENTS QUARRELLED, SHOULD WE THE NEW GENERATION CONTINUE THE SAME WAY?. ITS TIME TO COME TOGETHER AND MAKE THE HANDSHAKE ACROSS THE NIGER WORK FOR THE SAKE OF OUR PEOPLE AND NIGERIA |
Kemi Adeosun has come and gone in this present government. However, she did her best before felling into Nigerians muddy and contaminated political atmosphere. Many things are seriously wrong with the way we do things in Nigeria. It will be difficult for us to achieve much progress as a nation if we continue in this manner of certificate syndrome. Not that I am supporting her or anyone else who is cut in certificate mess. But, we should know better that certificate is not a proof of your knowledge deposition. If someone is performing at his or her field of operations, the only thing such a fellow deserves is encouragement. |
The act establishing the DSS has nothing to do with North as region please read below for your official perusal..... ... DGs of DSS from 1990 - 1992 : Chief Albert Horsefall 1992 - 1998 : Chief Peter Nwaoduah 1998 - 2007 : Chief Kayode Are (the whole of Obasanjo's 8 years) 2007 - 2010 : Afakriya Gadzama 2010 - 2015 : Ita Ekpeyong. Baba has not even finished his four years. One of DSS Acts as copied. According to the Act that setup DSS, it is a special security outfit to protect the President himself and his family and other VIPs. They are % loyal to the President and not to the country, even though they are setup by the country. They do not work like Police or other military forces. They receive special security training to protect President and defend him and his office. DSS was setup as a measure to counter coup from military forces, hence their loyalty to the President % alone. They are always prepared for any shakeup without reading meaning to it. That’s the nature of their job. In view of this, any President is at liberty to choose whoever he deemed fit to head the institution that was setup to protect him. For example ... When OBJ was president ... the head of DSS was Col. Kayode Are When Jonathan was President, Ita Ekpeyong was the head of DSS. Therefore, if OBJ could have someone he trusted from his region and Jonathan chose someone he trusted from his region too, so why do you expect PMB to retain someone who he couldn’t trust to head his personal security team from other region, knowing the kind of politics of hatred and bitterness we are playing in this country? More especially when he was nearly killed in Aso Villa. Let’s be honest, fair and sincere to ourselves. Also let’s learn to respect our laws and constitution. That’s what the law says and no ethnic bigotry can change that. |
Whatever is causing grieving between Ambode and Tinubu must be considered for peaceful resolution. Tinubu must not allow enemies to laugh at him. I hope Lagos State is not going to witness the same scenario of 1991 when Michael Otedola, Femi's father capitalized on the brouhaha in SDP. SDP was the party on ground in Lagos and it's a sure banker that who ever win the gubernatorial primary of the party is the next governor of Lagos. Everything went wrong in SDP. Otedola of NRC was favoured by electorates. Otedola became Lagos State governor simply because of infighting in the popular party. Femi Otedola is pretty good too, to benefit from another mistake of today's popular party. It means their patrimonial name is working really. OTEDOLA |
Ugosample:If you are a close observer of Nigeria political landscape, you will know that a big difference is between what Tinubu is doing in Lagos and what Bukola Saraki is doing in Kwara State. Tinubu is a king maker that allows the king to take charge of his kingdom after installation. Bukola Saraki is a king maker who constantly control the situation of the kingdom while the installed king is kept redundant. Keep your eyes and hears on ground. You will know what big different between Saraki and Tinubu. |
SolutionMee:Your so called support for Saraki is not really a product of your love for him. More over, I don't think you have been to Kwara State or lives in Kwara State. If you have any direct contact with day to day administration of Kwara State, you will not be blindly supporting someone who makes a sitting governor as powerless as a ward councillor. It's a matter of do or die that Kwarans must liberate themselves from the hood of Saraki this time around |
Fayose is the best comedian in power. As for his presidential aspirations, he knows from day one that the permutations on ground did not favour him. Even if he is quite qualified. As for Ekiti state gubernatorial election results, Fayose is just been comic as usual. Fayose lost the election to his arrogance, insensitive rules and hungry populace. It's always good to exercise your right in the law of the land, this is what is happening at the tribunal. |
VERY SAD ATIKU; The law of Karma. Why Atiku weep; and probably why the weeping will continue? Atiku plotted the illegitimate election of Bukola Saraki as President of the Senate by conspiring with the PDP which means betraying his “then Party, APC”. He contributed heavily for the huge maintenance of the Senators to help Saraki undermine Buhari’s administration. He contributed heavily in the compromised of the judiciary to get Saraki off the hooks of corruption cases. He worked on Tambuwal to bring Dogara on board of their political chase board by getting the House of Reps to be on the same page with Saraki in his antagonistic project against President Buhari. Atiku continued financing the PDP and undermining the APC. In all these calculations, Saraki and Tambuwal had made him to believe that they were working for him to be the Presidential candidate. Particularly so, when they over heated the polity and saturated the atmosphere with fake news and hate speeches. Atiku defected to PDP and from the onset, he considered himself as the anointed candidate. Now that he has been paid with his own coin—-betrayal shrouded in blind ambition. He cannot stomach Saraki being appointed leader of PDP with the National Chairman attending his declaration. He cannot stomach Tambuwal contesting. Atiku can feel within himself that getting the PDP is a Herculean Tasks. His journey into jumping to another party as he is known for, seems to have come to an end. He was devastated by the fake news of his joining APGA. The fake news was circulated by the Saraki camp. MORE TEARS WILL CERTAINLY FLOW FROM ATIKU’s EYES !!! We are watching |
Ole gbe Ole gba. Nothing much to write home about. |
God will open up our eyes to see the pictures of how things really runs in this world Religion has really blocked our views in Africa. |
SolutionMee:Saraki is terrible as a leader. This is a leader that makes his followers to beg for money to pay their daily recurrent bills. All the politicians that defected with Saraki were forced to took that decision. Saraki is not loved as a leader but fear of hunger make the politicians follow him. This is a man that have the treasury of Kwara in his pocket. |
hisexcellency34:It is always good to see from outside of government. Give the power of government to atiku and someone out of government will be the one making corrections on his policies. Osinbajo sees more economic errors in government of Jonathan when he was a running mate in 2015 |
Congratulations to the spectators who will have the opportunity of tasting two different types of meat |
Kog45:The different is clear. What is available in Lagos is not available in Kwara. There is a part of development goal in Lagos with Mega projects ongoing. Tinubu control of Lagos is totally different from what Saraki is doing in Kwara. I will give you many instances of differentiation when I have chance to stay on line. |
How strong a politician is do not really matter much. Kwarans must liberate themselves this time around. Kwara State is too big for one family to be in control, from father to son . And if the person who controls the political gerimandering run it with people in mind, it would have been better. |
HigherEd:God almighty will continue to bless the church. I'm a strong believer in the promise of God to bless and keep his people progressing. But, I believe we should build more Industry than building more mega churches. The arguments of church employing thousands of workers is not adding up. We need more productive ventures than prayer houses employing few thousand among millions of people. What we sow is what we reap. Industrial revolution is the key today not prayer revolution. The real blessed Nations do not have 30percents of the church we have in Nigeria. Our pastors should diversify to production. Watch and pray. It's what we plant that God will watered. God bless Africans |
Accessbank is the worst when it's mobile transfer on your phone. It requires a lot of luck to get through with you trying many times. I think the management of Access Bank should do something about this problem rather than opening another platform that will not function well again. |
dukie25:Handwork of haters |
Welcome to the league of presidential aspirants. it is a good news for us. The only problem here is that we are still battling with all the same set of thieves. Nothing much to write home about Saraki past leadership positions I believe we will get there soon, only not with these sets of character aspiring to be our president. |
What is all this stuff about. Someone is performing her natural duty and someone that is jobless is busy broadcasting it to the world. |
Lomprico2:The one you are referring to is also coming soonest. Simply because you don't understand how the system works does not permit you to call the promoters of Nigerian air one dullard. It takes sometimes to arrange things in aviation industry. Watch out by December, |
One of it will definitely happened SpatialKing: |
*Offa Robbery Case, Opportunity To Disarm All Thugs In Nigeria – Femi Falana* A human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana ( SAN ), has warned against politicising the case of the suspects arrested in connection with the recent dastardly Offa, Kwara State , bank robberies , where many people were killed. "The law should take its course irrespective of who is implicated. The case must be used as an opportunity to disarm all thugs in the country. 419 ( advance fee fraud ) once gave Nigeria a bad image around the world. A Brazilian bank collapsed after being defrauded to the tune of $240m by a Nigerian and in its bid to recover the money, the bank engaged the services of 11 lawyers from around the world, including me. They came to me among the 11 lawyers. How do we collect this money? How do we go about it ? It was very difficult because the police here then were part of the criminality . The main fellow that was to be arrested, the EFCC arrested him in the guest house of the IG . We are looking for a criminal and he is being sheltered by the IG ; just like you are looking for the vehicle with which a bank was robbed and you find it in the state house . That is the level of impunity in our country . And some people are shouting this is political victimisation ; nonsensical! Please , I beg all of us, let us separate criminality from politics . Wherever a criminal is identified, the law must have its way; the full weight of the law must be brought on the person. Otherwise, you may be a victim tomorrow if we don ’ t eliminate criminality in this society." 2019 is not 2015: Dynamics and strategy have changed because a new Sheriff is in town!!! If you think money will flow in 2019 election as it did in 2014, better go and find something else to do. Hunger go wound you oooo!!!! This is 8 months to general election but no sign in terms of liquidity. By this time in 2014, over 5000 support groups have endorsed Jonathan and milking him dry. The fact is that those who bankrolled 2015 election both in PDP and APC are yet to recover their expenses. Mr President doesn't believe in fictitious contract for compensation. Only contractors can tell you the level of integrity of Mr president. President Buhari does not even know how much some people committed to his election project because many were not captured in any record and he can even hand you over to ICPC because he doesn't believe in money politics. We saw members of TAN openly wept after losing the election because they knew what they wasted. Few political contractors who have cash after the election hurriedly went back to site out of fear of PMB to avert EFCC prosecution thereby losing their vault. Many people will not understand the level of blocked leakage by Honourable minister of Finance until you are a confidant of most people in government. Apart from ranking senators and reps, new members are struggling to recover campaign expenses Wallahi. A member told me this directly. Many appointees are struggling to settle down because their only earnings is their basic. No behind the scenes deal. Appointees in the past will be buying properties in Maitama but nowadays, appointees are living in Kubwa!!! Money only flows when contractors invest but no contractor can risk his money in 2019 because they already know that PMB will return and they will lose their investment. Many state governments are struggling. Most of the big spenders are afraid of VAIDS and whistle blowing policy. Atiku is just breaking even and oil licence holders are living in uncertainty. President Buhari does not believe in money politics and anyone close to him knows that. A lot of the people that have the mind to spend are living in fear because they know that it is stolen money and Magu is not smiling. Finally, during Mr President’s illness many politicians across party lines were thinking that he will not survive hence they started aligning and realigning. Trust was betrayed. Only Prof Osinbajo and few others kept faith and prayed for his recovery. God answered our prayer and restored him better than he was in 2014. The political intrigue in APC is the outcome of some bad alignments. Many are guilty and restless especially the Saraki gang. Saraki spent heavily during Mr President’s sick leave thinking that he can hijack the government, unfortunately, God shamed them by healing our president. Therefore, join us in the farm before it is too late. 2019 is a forgone election. Facebook and Twitter is the only place where the contest is hot. Unfortunately most of the state governors are owing salaries for months and have no reserve. It is funny when politicians that you think can spend are telling you that they are hoping on others to spend. Who will bail the cat? *Shared as received from.....* *#copied* |
oba1000:This is not Kwarans affairs, this is purely Ilorin emirates sallah celebration. Lai Mohammed is also busy celebrating in his ORO kingdom. ILORIN people are wiser than that of yesterday's now. |
