It maybe true that documentation took place but i can bet anything that it had nothing to do with this on going recruitment. Maybe new intake for IT and SIWES or a different intake for contract staff (still doubtful). I wonder how some persons view NNPC as a corporation , it's for serious minded people and not a Chinese company that anything goes.

I don’t know maybe some of you guys do suspend logical thinking due to anxiety or desperation.

It’s just like saying those that had sure admission connect has started doing documentation before they release admission list or those going for service and someone is already in camp doing documentation before call up letter is released.

This recruitment exercise is just exposing some people who do not understand how connections work. It could have been believeable if the recruitment is an underground exercise but this kind of general recruitment and you still think they will secretly call some to come do documentations while no list is released, don’t you think it will raise suspicion? Those that will enter through connection are chilling at home right now waiting for them to release the APL, stop giving yourself unnecessary headache.

oga, you are just going academic now. We know there different engineering disciplines. Mine was just a summary. Some engineering staff in NNPC can be classified as support staff as well

Under NNPC they operates with the Operations and maintenance crew ,they also run trainings with them. HSE officers goes to site with these set of persons during field work, even during Preventive maintenance (PM) ,they design permit to work system and they follow it up , although the new practice is that no one should be in custodian of PTW at site

In NNPC technical covers majorly Asset Management and technical services ,these divisions are in most of the Subsidiaries . Operations(Plant Operators, permit me to use this term) and maintenance staff. Don't be confused about this, HSE department is also under these categories.

The senior staff you talked about have all returned back to their various subsidiaries and the ones before them have also returned back, check my previous post you will see where i talked about committees before there was a memo to that effect.

The Corporation drafted its most Senior and Experienced Staff amongst others, across all Subsidiaries for the Interview Exercise. They all converged in Abuja for well over 10 days for that assignment, away from their duty posts. I believe the recruitment is one of the current important Projects the the Corporation is embarking on. It is naive to suggest otherwise.

Permit me to remind you Sir that the Corporation is still a Parastatal/Agency of Government, under the Federal Ministry of Petroleum with its operations subject to decisions of its Tenders Board, Governing Board, Ministerial Supervision as well as National Assembly standing committee's oversight. What you have painted is typical of what accrues in the Private Sector where there is full independence and near zero external pressure/influence. The Corporation is not immune to bureaucracy typical of Civil Service, let alone political influence.

However, I strongly believe the recruitment is transparent and credible thus far. In fact, it might even end with little or no influence depending on how certain things play out (I wish I can say more on this). We all know the President's Chief of Staff is a member of the NNPC Board,this is somewhat a plus to Mgt. I just felt it was needless to run into the arms of 'hungry' new politicians with the recruitment when they could simply end it. DPR 2013 utilized that window period if you recall, NNPC tried same in 2011 but dragged feet till Diezani came and put a halt on it. The union had to protest before she 'okayed' it in 2012. I understand its a whole different scenario now.

I don't think I have suggested anything contrary to what you've stated regarding the what is expected of the Board Chair, and his roles. Though it is also pertinent to mention that major contracts approvals and procurement implementation is handled by the Tenders Board while approvals for work programmes and corporate plans/budget is handled by the Governing Board. They are not the same.

I work in an Agency under the Presidency. I started a postgraduate program in 2016. It will interest you to know that approvals for something as trivial as Study Leave, or Secondment, Or even Leave of Absence goes all the way to our Governing Council. The SGF is a member of the Council. You can just imagine. Its not the same in some other parastatals.

I agree with you some of the concerns may seem to just be over-flogging the issue, as they may have been taken care of already.

I think we are giving too much weight to this recruitment in the national scheme of things. NNPC is recruiting GTs, few supervisors and a couple of Managers - low level people in the NNPC scheme of things, not to talk of national petroleum industry. It is not that COOs or GGMs are the ones they are sourcing for. If change in executive management within NNPC did not significantly stall the process, I don't see how inauguration of ministers has anything to do with issuance of offer.

For NNPC Board approval, if at all it is required for this recruitment, it is usually before commencement of the whole process (usually included in annual budget of the organization, and in few cases, specific approval at Board meetings). Even if final post-interview list still has to be approved by NNPC Board, there is nothing that says the current NNPC Board cannot do that. We all know the Minister of Petroleum is statutorily the Chair of NNPC Board, but we have an alternate Chair in the absence of minister and Board meetings can still hold.

NNPC Board has far more important things (like project approvals, state of the global industry etc) to discuss at Board level than recruitment of low level NNPC employees.

My 2 cents.

For ISPON General HSE is 5days (45k) and HSE Competence Development level 3 is 4 days (25k)....GHSE is a must before you can run Level 3 at any time of ur choice

Lol @ pressing issues, for things like recruitment there's a team setup and also a timeframe for completion like most projects, I doubt the daily running of the organisation should hinder the process. What we dont know is the timeframe and that's what we aren't giving ourselves peace about

NNPC won't because of our nervousness run her organization like a one man business. List is set but scores must be settled ,the organization also have other pressing issues calling her attention other than this recruitment. Very soon you will hear from them.

If i read correctly, 1 or 2 persons have confirmed that it has gone through FCC.

Well, i would think the list must have gone through the management of the organisation first before going to FCC and when it is approved by FCC, the validation of the list by the management team should be seamless. This would be based on the logic that very little influences could be made on the list after FCC's approval, this is just a presumption. Otherwise, there would be no need for FCC's approval in the first place.

This is becoming tiresome.

I suggest there is need for WhatsApp group to be formed on buying and selling of scrap materials by the Op of this forum to aid quick response.

This is still an assumption, i listened to the man's screening , he is more qualified to become the Minister for Petroleum with over 30 years of experience and very vast in the industry but no portfolio has been given yet , politicians are capable of influencing anything.

He can't cancel it, in fact he doesn't have that power, there is currently a board chairman in NNPC that is acting on that capacity (Alternate chairman) , PMB wasn't joking when he appointed that man early last month.

I dont think the week after Salah will be possible cos that's the week for new ministers. The new Petroleum Minister will receive reports from all the petroleum parastatals and other departments/ministries under him which may take him up to a month to digest. By that time , NNPC can no longer make any decision about this recruitment without his approval. The new Petroleum Minister can decide to play along with NNPC or decide to delay the process or even suspend/cancel the recruitment process. Is better for NNPC to notify successful ones before introduction of new ministers .We should try to keep ourselves busy.

My good friend NNPC is not a baby in planning, they budgeted for over a million applicants , by the way NNPC doesn't need budget implementation to pay for TF,they only need that to absorb new intake and which has been captured on the budget.

First, there’s a difference between budget preparation, approval and implementation. That a budget was approved doesn’t mean everything in the budget will be implemented (considering financial restraints).

Now to the recruitment process, NNPC has no idea how many people will apply for this recruitment, they can only prepare an estimate. Have you considered other variables? What if they estimated 500,000 people to register during the application stage but over a million applied? What if the estimate they prepared for those coming to Abuja for the interview is between 5k-6k and we are hearing about 9k attended the interview? Have you considered maybe they actually underbudgeted for this recruitment process?

Not to even talk about funding, you know they can budget 200m for this recruitment and just 100 or 125m will be approved to them?

There are a lot of variable involved and until you are certain that the TF reimbursement for 9k people was actually approved for payment, you can’t begin to cast aspersions on the corporation.

I wish i can , NGC and NGMC are using same premises and buildings for their Operations but with two different management and staff, ITs are very helpful and useful but are considered on the ground of recommendation, be mindful of some persons here, they may want to take advantage of the situation and so request for money for pipe dreams.

As a safety officer i don't think he is fully correct , slippery floor should be more appropriate, excessive noise, poor lighting , dust , poor ventilation etc... Hazard is simply anything or object that has the potential to cause harm.

I have idea that NASS is trying hard to penetrate fully and once this is allowed then the process might be delivered to some degree.

I knw a frd we both did our Msc together is the US with very strong connect. I was shocked when he told he already had his Apl long b4 the interview started and he has been told to report back in December.

This Mr. Goddy Agba is just making me laugh, I don’t know why. Maybe because he was once GM of Crude Marketing at NNPC during 2010-2014.

Oga i also did my IT in KRPC and the number of Deltans there are uncountable , in fact the MD then was a Deltan (Umukoro), i worked under three persons , A Deltan (Head of team), Edo man and another from Port - Harcourt .In Fact the Manager of my Department is from the East.
