Why didn't you write this before election? All this unworthy analysis. If it's Buhari also, something else would be written too. Like a goal keeper who has been told where penalty kick is coming. This is not analysis. |
Yes it is free indeed, from the perceived clutch of Saraki to strangling hands of Jagaban*dit* Congrats |
Where is improvement? |
Lifestone:It is more than pathetic. It calls for sober reflection. Old age is a blessing, at least people don't want to leave the scene in their prime, but come to think of the state of Nigeria; people might want to apportion blame that he wasted time he was meant to save and invest, but how many of them even have good things to live on let alone to save and invest; they are always on viewers' faces year round in borrowed costumes, effects and cars, very few of them are barely living above average. Most of what they showcase is not theirs and there is no system in place to make them reap the fruits of their labours. Piracy as a monster dealing them deadly blows. I was shocked few weeks ago when I read that a particular Nollywood septuagenarian legend declared himself bankrupt since 2 years ago. This is a man who acts so well in both English and Yoruba movies, whose appearance in movies describe wealth, but it is a make-believe world...and a plain irony at its best. It is only Baba Suwe's own they are hearing today who is down with sickness and having no savings to help himself out; there are many more among them whose situation is equally pathetic, the saving grace is because no life threatening situation is staring them in the face yet... which I don't wish for them for sure. It is a very sorry situation. |
ifyalways:Wisdom aptly expressed |
HigherEd:Thumbs up, HigherEd |
ogongogames:You got me by the chicken and egg analogy, I first thought of it too when trying to analyse this post. Thanks for believing in good values. But come to think of it, individuals come from families right? But you would agree that what a kind of leadership is, is what will make or mar the humans coming out of any family? We have both positive and negative examples all around us. Now apply it to society, society can do little where there are no sane authorities keeping human activities in shape and under control, even including the authorities themselves. The good news is that we have authorities and laws, the bad news, very bad news, is that the authorities are irresponsible with the law. Just like before you would blame a spoilt child alone leaving the progenitors out of the blame, so also is when you make the society blame-worthy, but exonerating the authorities meant to guide and nurture to a better society. So bad it is that on the part of the authorities, they even bend the power and laws to their taste so as to perpetuate themselves and their kinds in the place of power! Before we blame the children from a family, can we examine first the parents, before we blame Nigerians, can we look back in history if we have ever had a leader so willing to let power go when people perceive him to be ineffective just by himself? |
SHABZ:That's a good analogy you put up here, but do you know that the 'KPIs' or set target you mentioned, can be likened to a dream or a manifesto of a 'leader' leading a group of people. Organizations have leaders/or managers if you would call them that, that's why they could even have targets(KPIs) in the first place. Now, when targets are not met, it has consequences. The consequences now depend on the laid down rules/laws. Thinking very well about it, you would see that the 'rules' can be likened to laws and justice system in a setting, or a country. My submission is this, while followers too have their share of blame, leadership is always the owner of the biggest blame in a faulty system. Our laws exist, but how many of those laws have been justifiably used to put corrupt leaders behind the bars(that's what has helped China till today), why is the same law which deals with followers who break the law is excusable for the leaders who is meant to uphold same laws? It is leadership question. When company is lacking compass, energy and drive, it has been taught in leadership classes that the best solution which has been proven again and again to be true is to fire the head/manager. That's the power of leadership which we have not really enjoyed in this part of the world except for those we read about on pages in other countries in better climes. It is true that we have politicians as heads, but they are not really leaders. Do you know that even in advanced countries, leaders can by themselves resign from their position because they feel that people are not feeling their impacts or not fulfilling mandates...not in Nigeria. They will rather die there, with similar dumbasses-followers ready to die for them. Followers are who they are because of who the leaders have presented themselves to be. Look in a football team, no matter how good a team is, it most importantly needs a very good coach (leader) too. The buck always stops with the leader. |
Tamarapetty:Don't mind her; ignorant folks like her would believe her. The worst thing she could do would be to reduce little of its length, that's if at all. |
Online trolls who can't use their online savagery to salvage the country from quagmire from the hands of inept leaders. Online activism, an equivalence of fun in Nigeria, whereas it is the tool of revolution somewhere else. So who is right? The so-called lazy youths or the accuser ? |
It is good to get to the peak of one's career. Know all there's to know about something, at least more than the rest of the average...then life will usher you into heights untold. Great woman, an inspiration you are... |
deboysben:Sincerely it is possible to be educated and still be a Stark illiterate. But in other words,it is not because they are illiterate or uneducated, but because they are afraid to lose by nominating someone else for presidential candidate under APC, to them he is most viable, because of power of incumbency and because the cabals can find him easily pliable, and so on. It is a monumental shame. |
gare:You said it the best. It has always beaten my thinking how much this government's supporters are being paid to make them take stand against glaring facts and truth . Yet some folks stay alive just to support it. It is belly-turning. I still recall how much I anticipated PMB to become the President...but today, everyone with healthy and unbiased minds has seen it all. Traveling this path for another 4 years will perfect doom for Nigeria. I ain't for APC nor PDP and also much more bad misrepresentation in the place of power. Nigeria has never had it this bad. |
Hundreddegrees:I tire o. Making it look like prayers don't get answered. Yeah prayers don't get answered if we transfer our responsibilities to God to handle. God gave us brains and capabilities so that we won't disturb Him for all things as we can by ourselves do. He established the earth and He expects us to establish the world. But in a country where justice system is prejudiced, leadership qualities, compromised and everything just bastardized, you wonder why we are so religious yet so unachieving? |
Adebowale89:Adebowale, you have shown clearly here that either home training is lacking in your life or you were not blessed to have someone to have put you in the path of respect especially when outside or meeting a stranger, especially on a faceless platform such as Nairaland. Boy, it is not everyone on here who is your mate in every sense. I dignified you by even replying your quote of me; you shouldn't have quoted me when you knew you couldn't intelligently argue your opinion without insulting. Your likes are many here, heedless and headless, looking at every opportunity to manifest the necessary grooming lacked all the way up. See the way you are marketing your ignorance in the broad daylight, saying: "grace is natural phenomenon related to talent..." And that "Is it everybody that read and prepare for exam come out with good grade?" Lad, grace is not a natural phenomenon, do your homework and learn before coming to reveal that you are cerebrally inadequate. And the fact that it is not everyone who prepares for exams that comes out with good grace already informed me that you are far from knowing what is called value, added to the fact that cluelessness aided by your subscription to failure to self-educate is stinkingly offensive. It is not too late for you, you can still stop bringing disgrace to your upbringing and those responsible...until then social media might not be a blessing to you. |
Adebowale89:Next time you need to sit for an exam, may you not rely on grace only. To think that Ronaldo doesn't have talent is to be very ignorant; hard work alone can't do what Ronaldo does. Hardwork only refines what abilities you have inside resident. The reason why he equals and does better than Messi is because he works harder, aside his talents. It is beyond just Messi-Ronaldo matter. Every pacesetters in any field of endeavours know that the bigger the practice, the better the performance. 'Practice.makes perfect' is not a mere slogan |
oluwatosink:Hardwork will always beat talents any day talent doesn't work hard! |
I believe that we know what is good and also how to do it, even if it's to borrow ideas from those already doing same, it is allowed. Technology or advancement templates can be immitated BUT that Nigeria is not working is a deliberate thing as wanted by some elements, and they are not spirits or principalities. Things you hear and you feel bad and ashamed that you were born here. |
Why is it that any time we hear of defection, it is always a rounded figure of people who always defect: 10,000; 20,000; 25,000; 30,000 etc You won't ever see figure like 11,345 or something...it must always be a rounded figure. Politics. Lies. |
feldido:Thanks for that reply. I think Op is.more of a blogger than a techie. Cryptocurrency is one application of blockchain tech, among many others. Bitcoin is the chief among the cryptocurrency, to say it has died is to display sheer ignorance. Its price has crashed, yeah...but even its present price is still 100 times what it used to be before it got recognized world over. It is one thing to see it as an investment option and another to see it from angle of its use and application. These are not same thing |
Kolombz:I like your English vis-a-vis expressions. Leave that man, his delusion and clamour for attention have both stupefied him more than minds can grasp. Age of social media also gave birth to souls not even meant to lead themselves but expressing themselves and seizing available means to lead people which may be far better than them, as a result of their own insecurity. |
Cluelessness has spoken...let him who hath ears perceive what the time is expressing. |
Expect Buhari to show up for any debate to your monumental failure. You could as well hope that diamonds rains down from the sky. But it is a shame and an incurable shame at that when headless dummies defend a president not coordinated and versed enough to defend and bring to the fore viable economic policies, reasonable master plan to take the most populous black nation to the next 4 fiscal years ahead. Not sparing any...it is a much more ignominy that even past president(s) avoided presidential debates and yet went away with it, and still won. If you deserve my vote, can't you convince me with your plans and presentation, and ability to think on your feet? We are so 'populous' to the extent that intelligence and forward thinking ain't in our values evident by sound communication? It is so antithetical! |
Galaxyowerri:I think the country is almost done for...except by the Divine holds. 'Zoo' might be too honourable a word these days. Nigeria is thriving on deception, existing on falsehood and cover-ups. I believe in one Nigeria but this one existing has never been one. |
Exactly. Someone needs education. Ears are heavy with that same mantra since Godknowswhen. Can we hear something else. We have so fought corruption that even now corruption has changed name, status and definition. |
Ciscogod:There can be no action whatsoever he is going to do. It is US, not Nigeria. Beside, Google is not 'responsible' for it. The Spyders, crawlers only gather what people put online and how they use them. Result of Google search is what people using internet world over put there and map together not what Google did. Moreover, this idiot thing going with that picture is not today's development |
openmine:Thank you. It is surprising that Einstein wrote something like that. My first time of hearing it. He as enigma had many quotes attributed to existence of the Divine God...most likely towards the end of his life his hyper intelligence, IQ, got the better of him. Charles Darwin too started a believer then until something happened in his latter years. Sometimes Too much knowledge and grand personal achievements can be dangerous. God is R E A L and much more! Don't quote me if your belief is contrary. Argument, not today |
kimbraa:Thank you for saying it just the way it is. I once said something like this here sometimes ago. It is a given that VPs don't have really a voice but however, the person in question has not really lived up to the expectation people had of him. Nope! It is not that there is nothing he can do because he is the VP, but because there something he can do because he wants and needs to REMAIN THE VP, which he has done well by playing along. He had option to exit the door but he chose to remain and keep mum, history won't forget it sincerely. It is in Nigeria that people promote party affliation and interest above their own faith, personal dogma, and ideology...just to still be able to remain in the caucus and fold. Politicians never resign here from their vantage point when they observe that their own principles are being affected. No, they would rather keep up with the Joneses. Sorry, Nigerian politicians and ideology are not even meant to be on the same sentence: I am yet to see any among them worthy of being called an altruistic leader; it is why they jump from party to party: personal interest above anything else. |
Olalan:Very true, any potential candidate going to a party outside of APC and PDP for now won't sell or garner appeal much. Structures, resources, population, larger electorates divide will always swing to favour them irrespective of candidates nominated, at least for the now. Same as it is in the United States: the Republicans and the Democratics are the major parties, but other parties quite many still exist too who even have Presidential hopefuls at every election year... But nay! The popular parties will yet steal the shows. |
ifyalways:What is life if not the invisibly sustaining hand of the Divine? How frail man is...how indeed so frail and fragile man can be?! Life is a gift! |
Campaign promises. Lies in prophecies. |
'...made me(Jonathan) lose re-election.' Nothing like 'made me lost re-election' To whom it may concern! |
