Depends on what you are trying to secure putting into perspective those around you who may be victims of your security measures. Victims who are neither hostile or a danger to you but are so by proximity etc.

Those around us whom we wish to secure will know the security(the dog) and the security will know them. Nigerians dont train dogs. They think it's just buy it and keep in cage and release at night. That is when there is danger.

A dog that is well trained does not need cage and even if it does, there should bê an agreed time amongst the People when the dog Will bê let Loose. Lets say 10pm. At that point everyone knows there is no movement beyond 10pm só anyone passing beyond 10pm Is a threat and must be put down. Its BASIC protocol.

This is exact thing that happens in my compound. I loose my dogs @10. No one comes out. Só if you are bitten we Will still arrest you. If only People had their protocols, we wont worry about dogs eating our Kids.

P. S my dogs spend their day inside my house and night outside guarding the whole compound. Im happy. Só bro relax.. Train your dog. No one will arrest you if your dog put Down a dangerous person

I read one news about a year ago where three pitbulls jumped out of their owners compound attacked and killed a woman who pushed her child away in the trawley to save her child. Those dogs were put down by guns.

In certain countries you need a license to have certain dogs and examined if you are fit to handle such dogs.

I reiterate when a dog can comfortably take down a armed human, it raises awareness in it and that dog is now a weapon and the owner should make sure its firmly within it's grip.

Some guys want to own dqngerous dogs even when they don't need that level of dog and it fierceness.

Ps: I have friends who will willingly give me these type of dogs but I can't keep it and have the dog maintain its true self with various kds in my compound.

People have dogs to protect and fight for/with them when danger looms so I don't understand. A dog does not fight with blows and kicks but it's teeth

I had not even read about it when I made that post but from the little experience I had as a child when we still had dogs, and that dog wasn't a boerboel. A childhood friend of mine has though, and you don't enter the house unless the owner gives permission else by default it attacks you. The day the dog got out though, they ravaged a woman's livestock and came out again for more till it owner arrived.

Here is what Wikipedia had to say about what it is predisposed to and how much control is needed, in this case we are also talking about a dog that took down a human something am not sure it has done before, or it even thought possible to do

OP personally I prefer a boerboel but let me just give yu differences and similarities. boerboels originated from S.A they were bred to guard the farm, free thinkers and very protective of their owner and properties rottweiler on the other hand are from Germany, drover dogs as well as good guard dogs. in size the boerboel is bigger weighing as much as 200pounds. the boerboel has a better temperament and is especially good with kids. the boerboel has a shorter hair and less grooming both are working dogs, intelligent, agile, easy to train and they make good guard or security dogs.......... so it's left for yu to decide both both of them are excellent

I am planning to increase my number of dogs, and I want to get an additional 4 before the last day of the year. I got my first dog earlier this year(februrary) and I have been increasing them in between as I grew to love and attach to them.

I am thinking a Rottweiler or Boerboel.

Can rott and boerboel professionals give me ideas? Pros and Cons? Risks? Also is cow head good for dogs? I've been asking myself this for months

I have no favorite right now between both. I want something that is working and is quick to anger.

p.s you see those ones that are bred to hunt predators, those one are very dangerous o. Although some people keep their pets close to babies, it has never been advisable because sometimes the outcome is always a sad one. Me sef I no fit try am. And the Dogo Argentino is a very dangerous breed but I love it

It's true. I agree that there are very dangerous dogs out there... But like you mentioned earlier it all depends on how we relate with them and handle them.

And I think people should adopt/buy dogs for their breed purpose. Don't just buy for the sake of buying or because it's fine or its 'cute'. When you buy a dog for the purpose at which it was bred you wouldn't worry because you would obviously have everything under control.

For example, you buy a GSD. GSDs are working breeds in as much as people have slowly turned it to a show dog but it is bred to work. If you have such, you would 'put it to work'. Maybe use it for security or farm work or labor. Same goes to other breeds like the Rottweiler. Buy it for their main purpose. Don't buy a rottweiler because you like it's 'swag' and keep it inside your house with children and when it happens you say rott is dangerous.

Naija CC are kind of strange. Just checked the requirements for GT bank. It says on the website that one needs to usually have a dollar account. A credit card should also be able to work in any country including its country of origin. Infact it should be domiciled in the local currency.
I guess they sort of modified it because Nigeria is really not ripe for the real credit card type transactions.

Checked standard chartered Gold CC. That is a proper credit card.

I also have the Naira denominated Credit card as well with same GTBank. Which works all over Nigeria EXCEPT outside Nigeria.

I think every bank has their own credit policies. I don't think there is a 'proper' credit card. Each bank their own. But the point is, credit cards are available.

In my opinion, I believe it is natural to be insecure and not a bad thing. It is our insecurity that makes us monitor our loved ones so hard preventing them from making bad decisions that will come back to hurt us.

We can't ignore or keep quiet or give 'space' to our loved ones whom we know have a high/medium tendency of doing bad things in the name of not being insecure because when that loved one does something wrong, we would be affected.

So in my opinion, screw the scam called 'Insecurity'. Yes I am insecure and proud to be. If anything happens, when I am suffering the heartbreak or the depression, no one will be there with me. In fact, they will still blame me for negligence.
