Wrong! I have a dollar denominated credit card with GTBank which can transact all over the world EXCEPT in Nigeria. I can't use it in Nigeria.

I use it mostly when I travel. I like their settlement and repayment framework.

Even the pit bull isn't as dangerous. If it's a matter of temperament, or prey drive, all dogs are dangerous. A small lhasa apso was bred to guard. As tiny as it is. It can be dangerous too but we wouldn't call it 'dangerous'

90% dog breeds were bred to work/guard. Mostly guard against wolves and other predators. So 90% of them have the killer instinct. So as long as you don't give them a reason to kill or attack you, then what makes them dangerous?

There are pitbulls that play with babies.. so please.

All the breeds you mentioned except the Wolf Hybridge, Pitbull and Kangal are not dangerous.

Almost all dog breeds have high prey drive. We can't tag them dangerous because of their prey drive.

1. Not all dogs are starved by the parents.. Which responsible parent will starve a dog?

2. A rottweiler is good around kids if trained to be. Train your dog and it will be what you want it to be. Same GSD that plays with babies have also been reported to kill a baby. So its about training and teaching the children not to poke or annoy the dog. Any breed will react if provoked.

Thanks for this wonderful advice. Although I also want the best quality breed but you know as Nigerians we always want the best for little or nothing I guess that is why we keep getting this mixed breeds anyway I got someone offering me one for 120k which is way above my budget, however, I am getting a better deal from JOS and I will upload Pictures as soon as I get it.

You should learn about them before trying to adopt one. How do you intend to live with what you don't know about?

For example, my partner has been asking for a cat but I don't know about cats so I refuse to purchase it because there are dogs in the house already. I'm unsure how they will live together as Cats and Dogs.

So if you really want to get a dog and you love dogs as you claim, your first step should be to learn about them. Study them and understand how they work before getting one.

Almost all dogs in Nigeria are Nigerian because they are locally bred. Any puppy born in Nigeria is Nigerian.

However, the pedigree and quality of these puppies is what matters. So many dogs are Nigerian but it's all about quality. If you have a quality GSD (Born and bred in Nigeria), you wouldn't want to sell it 30/35k because it's 'Nigerian'. That is the street value for majority of GSD because 80% of GSD in local breeding kernels are not purebred. But a purebred GSD may not go for 35k. Imagine a breeder who has spent a lot to make the GSD fantastic, will now sell it 35k because it's Nigeria?

Indeed the local GSD mixtures are what sell for 30/35k.. even 25k sef depending on where you go but we need to start discouraging mixing of this GSD by stop buying them!

OP DO NOT BUY THOSE PUPS.

Feed him with more of fish than meat. Add rice to it too.

My GSD, pride, is very stubborn ehn I get frustrated at times I've taught her the basics sit,down,jump,stay I even taught her how to play dead...
She knows what to do at times but just frustrates me then the next thing is she'll start jumping on me and biting my heels and fingers....

Any update on your dog?

1. Yes you can bathe the dog if necessary however, do not use sponge or cold water. Use warm(not hot) water with soap(shampoo) and your hand. But at 6 weeks, it should have been bathed already before handed over to you.

2. Give her some canned food or soft feeds like Nutritola and so on. Please do not offer dry foods at this stage. Also give her enough fish & eggs. The eggs should not be fried with oil neither should it be boiled too long.

I recommend Croaker fish. Rich in protein for a young puppy. Also give enough water.

BARKING AT 6 WEEKS IS A PROBLEM BELIEVE ME. YOU HAVE A FAIRLY DOMINANT DOG.

The dog is free to bark anytime indeed but ideally, Barking should begin @ 12-16 weeks upon understanding of why it should bark. At such a young age is dangerous. Dangerous for you in the long run as such dog may end up biting you or barking at you too in the future. I'm talking from experience.

We need to see clear cut pictures of the Father & Mother of those puppies. Not the mother alone.

Let me explain somethings to you:

- Being fat doesn't mean the GSD is purebred or 'full breed' and being slim or underfed doesn't make the GSD impure.

- Having plenty fur (hair/coat), doesn't mean the GSD is pure or full while having short fur/coat doesn't make it impure.

- Having a long muzzle like the local dog doesn't mean it isn't pure. And having a short muzzle like the youtube/Google pictures doesn't make it pure.

You may wonder:

How do I know a purebred GSD? What are the facts..

1.) The breed standard:- The breed standard vary depending on the kennel club or region. However, 90% of this standard are quite same. You should compare the breed standard with the dog you are looking at to determine if it's pure or not. Not looking at its face or muzzle or color or coat.

2.) Responsiveness/Prey Drive:- How responsive is this dog? Is the dog always looking to run? Always chasing something, always pacing around to do something? Always attentive when being spoken to? If yes, then we have a GSD. GSD is a working breed that likes to work. They love to chase. Love to run. And LOVE TO HUNT.

3.) Vocal Pitch:- A typical GSD has a thick voice with base. This doesn't mean a female GSD with a little sound or a GSD whining isn't a GSD. But it's something to look out for.

4.) Proactiveness:- Does this dog like pulling the leash? Does it like going forward and ahead on walks? This is wrong but if so, you have yourself a GSD.

So my friend, these are just a few of many things that can help determine the purity of a GSD.

You may also wonder what the breed standards of the GSD are. If you wish to know, check the German SV Standards. I for one respect the German standards more than the American or English because the GSD is GERMAN.

But if you insist on me telling you directly if those dogs are pure without stressing yourself to evaluate these points I raised above, fine, post more pictures.

But from what I see above, The mother looks compromised.

Capture one of those stray cats and whenever you are less busy, Put the cat in front of him. Especially where the cat has no where to run. It will want to defend itself. It will attack him so also will he defend himself by fighting back.

Don't let the dog kill the cat. Remove the cat. Do it again after 2 days. Repeat the process for a week. Now leave a cat in your compound and set the dog loose. He will attack and kill.

The point of that process is to implant hatred for cats in the dogs mind. I have tested this and it worked. So I think it should work for you too.

There is no factory settings. The factory settings apply to Chicken and Goat not cats. Dogs attack bigger threats not lower ones. Your visitors are bigger but the cats and rodents are smaller and lower so it won't want to stress it self but play with them.

Train him to kill anything on four legs and your problems with stray cats are over.

2. The dog may not chase to kill because it isn't trained to hurt those things. You need to train your dog in many activities. Train it to hurt any other animal on 4 legs. Then it will chase to kill.

You can as well, set traps to catch those pests disturbing you
