Crime › Re: Nigerian Prisoners In Uk To Be Sent Back To Nigerian Prisons! by hackney(m): 2:12pm On Mar 20, 2010
The shocking thing in all of this is that nigerians expect that the nigerian govt
somehow will give a damn.

LISTEN!!! : THE PEOPLE IN GOVT ARE THERE FOR THEMSELVES.
Everything about nigeria is every man to his own!!! (all the way down to health, water and electricity)

Even the nigerian embassy here in the UK only sells visas and passports.
There has been cases of them turning nigerians with problems away.

If countries like china and libya start killing nigerians what will the govt do?
Nigeria is seen as a scourge. Like vermin that no one wants.

TV/Movies › Re: Nigerian Government Plans To Fund Nollywood by hackney(m): 1:23pm On Mar 20, 2010
If they can curtail piracy, the film industry may have enough money to invest in
better films as well as pay their employees.

I wonder how the govt will influence movie scripts.
lets wait and see.
Business › Re: Bank Directors With 12 Years Experience Must Quit – Cbn by hackney(m): 1:11pm On Mar 20, 2010
^^^^ well said.

A policy whereby experience counts against an individual is very flawed.
it's fair to regulate a director's monopoly over bank issues but having experience count against them is not a good idea.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Recalls Ambassador From Libya Over Gaddafi’s Statement by hackney(m): 9:34am On Mar 20, 2010
The truth is that other leaders have the temerity to make comments
about Nigerians willy-nilly because nobody takes nigeria seriously.

Who will blame them considering all the unbelieveable nonsense happening in nigeria.
The fact is that most countries regard nigeria as rubbish with views that dont count
in the international community.

Of what use is nigeria to any other country?
(apart from our citizens scurrying around other countries like rat infestations).
Family › Re: Funny Things Parents' Do That Makes You Chuckle! by hackney(m): 8:58pm On Mar 19, 2010
We had this thermometer on top of the tele and Dad said that one day the thread will drop below zero and it would snow. (in Imo state!!)
I and my sister will sneakily go and shake this thermometer like mad, turn it upside to no avail.

After we realised that he told us that so that we can stay indoors watching the thermometer instead of wandering
out of the compound.
Politics › Re: Would You Support A Dora Akunyili Led Inec? by hackney(m): 8:36pm On Mar 19, 2010
Considering Dora's track record especially regarding how honest she has been
and her level of dedication during her Nafdac days, i think she deserves a shot at inec.

It's not about being a man or woman;
infact i think a woman should even rule the country as it seems only a woman will genuinely want to clean up that mess
called Nigeria.
Celebrities › Re: I Am Truly Sorry For Cheating On My Wife-sandra Bullocks's Husband Speaks. . . by hackney(m): 6:54pm On Mar 19, 2010

Jackie is hot; no doubt but Nadia is soo fresh-looking that you cant wave her off like that jare.
Nadia is very pretty but i think jackie is only ever so slightly prettier. (those eyes, mwuahh)

views as absurd in real life.

Politics › Re: Army Fights Back, Says Gov Jang’s Statement Embarrassing, Display Of Naivety by hackney(m): 6:50pm On Mar 11, 2010
It will all end in grammar as usual.

I think it is unfair that the Nigerian citizens pay tax considering how useless the
govt is.
Politics › Re: Nzeribe At It Again; Calls On Military To Take Over! by hackney(m): 2:44pm On Mar 11, 2010

Celebrities › Re: Shade Adu Is Back After 10 Years by hackney(m): 2:24pm On Mar 11, 2010
Musically speaking , Sade is the best Nigeria has ever had.
A hundred kudos to her.

"No ordinary love" is a timeless classic.
"Sweetest taboo" , the video , the vocal.

she's the very best.
Romance › Re: Am I Over Reacting? by hackney(m): 2:13pm On Mar 11, 2010
I honestly think she's no good.

You haven't married her yet and she is doing all these weird things like snapping,
taking hidden calls and being rude.
She probably thinks you are already in the bag and her true self is emanating gradually
(which means it can get a lot worse; heaven forbid she's the type that will derive pleasure in cheating on a loved one)

The truth is that some people are just not good, simple.
Its up to you to get out or put up with it for life.

Good luck my dear.

^^^^^^ That one na police? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Abeg we need to call them another thing o!!

The reality is that in naija, every single thing is "every man to his own"

Infact safety is the biggest reason why i dusted by expired kpale , renewed it and came back here.

Amidst people saying: oh' what about the oil company contacts? Zap. that! !
Thieves went to my uncle's house and were there for hours; they even ate there and drove away
in his cars.
My auntie still has nightmares like she's going mad.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Orders Probe Into 'brutal Bus Robbery' On The Lagos-benin Highway by hackney(m): 6:57pm On Mar 05, 2010

Education › Re: Wonder Twins Head For High School Aged Nine by hackney(m): 4:44pm On Mar 05, 2010
To be honest, i dont blame the British for praising the 'products' of their
environment.

Other societies can borrow a leaf (if they want)
Education › Re: Wonder Twins Head For High School Aged Nine by hackney(m): 4:18pm On Mar 05, 2010

Nigeria is full of nonsense so that is highly likely.
Family › Re: Earn 40,000 Monthly Can I Get Married. by hackney(m): 8:33pm On Mar 03, 2010
N40,000 a month?
Without knocking it, i'll like to think that it depends on where you live and
how you commute to work.
Eg if you live in your home town and work a trekkable distance, then you might just
pull it off  because you have no real expenses but no kids yet oo!! because im not sure you can pay for primary school yet.

Luxuries of any kind is completely out of the question.
Career › Re: Bizzare: Intercontinental Bank Downsizes Again by hackney(m): 8:19pm On Mar 03, 2010
@matrixme
No banks that i know out here charge you for withdrawals.
Current accounts actually accrue interests here (though very little ; about 0.02%    grin)
but at least that way you are sure they are not taking anything.

Moreover banks should be working hard to invest wisely with customer deposits and not charge them for donating
investment funds to them (if you think about it)

The terrible thing with job losses in naija is that there isnt any help available at all from the govt.
The laid-off workers will have to 'magically' cater for their families in far away expensive , cut-throat cities.

My heart goes out to them sha.
Sports › Re: An Open Letter To Lars Lagerback by hackney(m): 5:09pm On Mar 02, 2010
I'm happy they are looking to install a foreigner to coach the national side.
That will eliminate all the petty hungry bribes floating around that dump.
