We are all different tho. Personally, I had been in 2 No-sex relatnship, I make my stand knwn and I'm firm on it, b4 I decided to just be on my own for a while.
But I dnt put any financial burden on them, why wld I be asking a man that's nt my husband for hair and clothing allowance? If he buys me a gift, I make sure I reciprocate wt somethn of like quality so at the end of the day if a break up happens, no one loses. If he gives me money, I thank him tho, afterall I no beg am.

OP, I don't agree wt many of ur points, e.g. I don't understand how sterilization wld influence the spread of HIV, sterilizing 18yr olds cos they supposedly av low IQ, etc
One of the major problems of Africa (using Nigeria as a case study) is lack of good leaders, and this is borne out of the greed, selfishness, self-centereness, complete disregard of situations as long as it suits one, taking things wt levity, etc, found in the average Nigerian. The leaders all go there with the mind to steal as much as they can, lack prioritizing, the lawmakers are busy fighting blow for blow, etc. The average Nigerian only has survival on his mind, every means to survive whether crook or clean, there is corruption at every level all in a bid to gain more not caring what is destroyed in the process. The educational sector and all other sectors are in shambles cos of this.
There is gross illiteracy, even some who went to sch come back as educated illiterates cos most went for the Cert, and lack of enabling environment. How wld one learn when there are no equipment or materials needed available. There is little practical involved, just theories and more theories. We are the ones, self-destructing ourselves, our nation.
There is also the problem of hypocrisy, we are very religious yet we still go against out religious teachings. We aren't in problems becos we are religious, but becos we pretend to be, but our hearts are something else.
On the issue of population, personally I believe if pre-marital sex is curtailed or controlled and family planning more introduced to pple esp in the rural areas.
Teenage pregnancy is increasing daily, a situation whereby a girl has given birth to 3 children b4 she is 20yrs, even outside wedlock all to diff men. NL is enough case study, with pple coming for stupid advice after getting a girl pregnant when they know they av no means to cater for a family.
Couples shld also be encouraged to plan their families well. This is where illiteracy comes in again. Poor pple are noticed to bear lots of children even when they can't cater for even one child effectively, and the cycle continues.
Even if a child had inherited a good IQ, the environment matters. The Nigerian environment is not encouraging at all. I don't see IQ as the problem, our problems lies deeper.

I'm tired of hearing these sorts of stories. This is what we get when we ask for virginity to be looked down on.
These teenagers need serious counselling, if u knw u can't hold body then be wise. If u know u aren't ready to father a child or mother a child, don't av sex. No family planning method is 100%, talk more having unprotected sex. After getting a girl pregnant, u'll nw come crying seeking advice.
Thank God she got pregnant for a guy that is still slightly responsible, not one that wld even deny her. Don't allow her abort the child, inform some of ur relatives and hers, make plans together abt ur future. Both families can work out what path to take, if they are well off enough to further u guys education or get a means of finances for u and get u married.

I agree in some ways to what Kukah said. I had always wondered abt the North despite so many pple in important positions coming forth from the North than any other part of Nigeria, there is nothing to show for it, just major decay, gross ignorance, illiteracy, minimal development, everything is just upside down. U see many of them down South begging for alms or doing menial jobs apart from the traders. And back home is no better.
We av really wicked and self centered leaders in Nigeria but theirs is worse. One of the thing fueling BH is the high lvl of illiteracy and ignorance in the populace, these BH minions don't even know much abt their religion, if they knew they wld certainly not contemplate suicide nor mass homicide, they are brain washed by the devil-incarnate sponsors into thinking what they are doing is right and they will get rewarded for it.
They shouting Allahu Akbar doesn't mean what they are doing is for Islam or for Allah. They are commiting major sins in the sight of Allah. They might bear Muslim names but it doesn't excuse the fact that their actions are anti-Islam.

I'm not taking any sides here, cos no one knows what transpired btw them, except they and God.
But, I want to correct the notion of a naive 17 yrs old, these days most girls are sharp even by 14, u already know what u want, what u can stand and what u wnt.
At 17, some pple are in 200lvl, 300lvl, a bit independent and can make decisions regarding their lives.
I know at 17 yrs, I wasn't a dundy united, who wldn't know what rape meant and still keep going back to her rapist in the name of love.

Why do people always twist things to suit themselves?? So what is the point of even wearing the NYSC uniform anyway, or even attending camp?? Just drop out and refuse to go for NYSC because you dislike the uniform and you cannot cover it up with a hijab. Anything other than the short hijab ending at the neck area like those worn by the foreign muslim police officers, is just a security risk in this era of BH threats.

I will overlook ur first two paragraphs cos they are in no way in line wt a reply for my view.

The full length hijab or niqab had never been in use on camps. Just the moderate ones and even at that some Muslim ladies are still harassed in some camps for using it.
I don't know where the OP got that pix from.
I don't see any reason for calling for the ban of hijab, once the hijab is moderate and won't hinder their activities on camp. The BH part is no point at all since corp members don't use niqab or long hijab in the first instance
