Typical... isn't it? Starting what one can finish.

For the record politics is not my thing am only correcting wrong judgment from angiography neither am I supporting the other guy. And that is why I rarely talk about senstive issues as my words are elusive and often misconstrued.
Alright. I told u not to mention the issue again not cos I can't finish what I started, cos sincerely I can tell u that's negative. But I just dislike arguments on issues like politics, cos most times it degenerates to unnecessary bad blood. I guess I didn't get ur stand, I thought u were supporting what the other guy said.
Anyways,I'm sorry, no hard feeling. So are we cool?

What a word!! Wisdom I say is not in measure of age, and respect is earned not deserved.

What he said might look to you derogatory and insulting a potray of moral decadence and lack of respect for elders but if we are to analyse the motives behind that post he made I can tell you it's justifiable. Jonathan was nicknamed "Clueless" by the so called change which at the core have Buhari as their leader. Now if no one then could stand up-not even our so called Mr integrity, to correct that act of denigration of personality directed to abase our then President whom I believe the world did read those derogatory remark about why on earth should someone who was there when Jonathan was being called "Clueless" couldn't say or do anything against the people calling him that but now think he has the audacity and tenacity to impetuously defend and speak against those now calling our President "Buffon" amidst other names.I ask where was he then?

"You wouldn't want to believe," you say? Well I guess you are picking the wrong spot.
Oh really?! Please, continue. More grease to your elbow.
I don't know if u guys had a personal beef with angiography over political stuff, not my business anyway. I only spoke out cos, it's not in my way to insult leaders no matter how clueless they might be, and even when I do, u can rarely pick out an outrightly insultive word from my speech *there are ways to frame ur views with ur back up info and rational argument without being insultive*, cos for the fact that they are one's leaders they DESERVE respect. According to my religion and even culturally that's vital, I dn't know about urs. Although most times we don't acknowledge this and say whatever we want.
Aspire to be where they are or higher and be the change u want to see.
I guess we have different views though, the guy can continue insulting the President, he is free, but he would have to start the conversation at the politics section, where he'll meet like minds.
NB: Don't mention me on this issue again, thanks

I think u quoted the wrong person, I wldn't want to believe u're in support of the crap Olamitiosoj wrote.
Let's mind what we say about our leaders, whether u like it or not the man is this Nation's President and deserves to be respected. Other countries view our posts and the way we talk about our leaders reflects the kind of person we are. Even if he didn't agree with how the man is running his Govt, referring to someone old enough to be one's grand dad as a buffoon is just out of this World- too bad.

I dont think the ladies were bashing the teaching profession. Just like you mentioned in your write up, they are against the men expecting their wives to change professions after marriage. My mom was a teacher and a very kind and loving person. She hardly ever raised her voice and was very slow to anger. I consider teaching to be a noble profession and not a career for everyone. You need to have a vocation for it. Due to this silly mentality that everyone can be a teacher, we have a lot of useless teachers in our society
Teaching should be a regulated profession like it's the case in the West.
Well said, agreed.

Abi o, and the stories are quite interesting anyway, even though there might be little truth in the stories, probably products of creative and imaginative minds passed down over years. But we still have to respect it as our history. Every tribe has it's own version of various gods and their stories.

Oduduwa's stories has two versions. 1 as a man and 1 as a god. The version I talked about painted him in the context of a god and as far as I can remember he was said to be d one to create earth according to that story. I know Orunmila brought Ifa to Earth though.
I cld be wrong since it's been a while.

Oh, so it was Obatala: thought it was Orunmila. But, Odua had always been human and never had those kind of relationship with Eledua. What I heard was that Eledua sent 'Obatala' to earth which was full of water with those things. He got to earth, though I don't really know remember what happened during afterwards, the bird used it claws to spread the sand inside the shell onto the water(seems the sand spilt before the bird began it's duty) . I think it's best we stop posting about story of the history cause it's going way too long
Yh, alryt. congrats on ur admission sis, what course?

I've never heard about that 1st version. Anyway, you were not supposed to take it serious because Orunmila was said to be the one Eledua(God) sent to create land out of the water filled earth with a shell filled with sand and a bird, maybe dove
Nope, it was originally Obatala but Esu cornered him and when he was on the way to Earth he saw some pple having a party and joined in, he later drank so much wine at the party and fell asleep.
So when Olodumare saw Obatala had fallen asleep he then sent Oduduwa, who picked up the materials he needed *sand, the chain and a hen* and supposedly eventually performed d task.
They are just funny stories anyway but am I right or am I right?

This thread seriously got me spot on. I'll like to think I'm in btw *if there is anything in btw*, but I lean more to the introvert side, always been known as the reserved one, I don't see why I shld keep talking when there is no need for it, I don't make friends uneccesarily, I keep cool, study the people around me and try and get closer with people I feel I can roll with. And give me novels and I won't mind being on my own for weeks. Life as a nurse has made me have cause to interact more with people though which I totally enjoy *sometimes*
I love my life!!!!

your own version!...my own version says he came directly from heaven. Heheheh
Lolz, as in history can be funny ehn, I can still remember the 2 versions, the 1st one was that Odua came doin from heaven with a chain and created the earth (land and water), and the 2nd version that he was the son of Lamurudu who was a king in Mecca then and he later migrated with some people to Ile-Ife, and he gave birth to only one child who in turn gave birth to 7 children, one of which was Oranmiyan, who also spread out and took over other lands.
Tell me to shut up please, but seriously history is very interesting
CrimeRe: Fake Prophet Cons Lagos Nurse For Sex by HaneefahRN(f): 3:24pm On Sep 15, 2015
I knew a registered nurse wouldn't be so dense all in the name of religion. All these quacks called auxiliary nurses by Drs who use them illegally in their mushroom hospitals to save money instead of employing qualified nurses. They train semi-literate or illiterates, some of these quacks can't even make a complete sentence in English but since they wear white every1 calls that 'nurse'.
At the OP, an auxiliary nurse isn't a nurse as written in the topic but a quack because they are not legally and academically qualified to perform the duties of a nurse but are used nonetheless becos of the lawlessness in Nigeria by some Drs to save money not considering the dangers these semi-literate or illiterates pose to the innocent patient's life.
May God help Nigerians but the lady is gullible sha.
CareerRe: What Is The Most Suitable Job For A Married Woman With Kids? by HaneefahRN(f):
Ralphlauren:
For a man like you that currently works with a multinational company, this is a very shameful post. Is this what you are passing on to the young lads you "mentor"? So a job with an oil and gas firm is good for you but "ise tisha" is perfect for the woman? undecided smh.

I'm sure you've worked with (in the past) several women with professional careers that have excelled in their field and you are currently working with several successful professional female colleagues. But you would rather have your wife sell peak milk and Agege bread or be a "tisha" than have a career in a profession of her choice. And to think you married a graduate undecided

I have noticed this with you. You tend to distance yourself away from successful women and I have never seen you acknowledge any successful career woman on this forum or anywhere else.

Thank God you have a daughter. I'm sure you are sparing no expense to ensure she attends the best schools and your dream is for her to be a top shot someday. How will you feel if after she gets married, her husband insists she runs a "provisions" shop "not far from home" or she works as a teacher in Sangotedo secondary school. Will you genuinely be happy?

Anyways, you are a Muslim so I'm not surprised at your outlook towards women. You see them as lesser beings who should not strive for professional excellence. Smh.
Sorry, I just had to comment on this. Why are people looking down on teaching so much? Why is teaching so underrated like it's not a very important profession? You make teachers sound like lesser people. Being a teacher doesn't mean you can't study and aim high.
My mum is a maths teacher, has her masters with PhD is view and does part time lecturing, so why the subtle and outright bashing of the profession by some ladies, as if it's a despicable and lesser profession?
I believe a woman should follow her passion whether single or married, we also came to this World to fulfil a purpose. Whether teaching, medicine, law, nursing, engineering, etc, go into any field that pleases you. All these men saying trading and other menial jobs, some won't even leave monthly allowance for the woman, nor care for her feeding and clothing. A man that wants his wife to be a teacher should marry one and not expect an accountant to become a primary sch teacher. Thank God women are wiser now, don't depend on any man o. But at the same time, manage your time well, your career should not affect your family.
Proudly a nurse + fashion designer!

no it's not that important. It has no bearing on your admission. Infact pple graduate even from oau without nursing council license. Your notification of license registration is for work not for admission purpose esp into oau. But if you intend getting it...some pple gets it straight from nursing council here in abuja. U wl need a letter from d school tho (i mean it...u can get it urself from nursing council) but u may have to pay a few amnt of money. Lol

but pls...if you have the opportunity. Just find a way of getting it straight from the nursing council. Unilorin requests for it m sure and who knows, oau can change it's policy anytime...just to find a way of screening out pple

4. High school certificate and notification of result
5. Jamb D.E. form.
....

Have you gone to department of nursing for familiarization??...it will interest you how much some of them wld love to assist you
I really appreciate ur replies. I finished last yr but our results were released late and consequently the notification hasn't been released. I mean notification of registration wt nursing council for licensing. Some of my seniors said it's very important, but since u didn't, I guess it's no big deal.
I submitted my:
- Transcript
- DE form
- O lvls
- Statement of result for nursing council

I guess so, I av a gud transcipt too. I pray it's gud enough o. It seems our DE exam doesn't really matter anyway and they had used it to gain money. I hope things work out well. I heard from some of my senior colleagues that were admitted that the notification is very important for admission, but nursing council hasn't released our notification yet, what can u say about their claim?
NB: Nope, SONO is School of nursing, Osogbo.

the thing dey piss me off jare. I will blame it on the members of this thread tho'.
The processing of D.E is straight forward viz-a-viz; the D.E. cut off mark for all department is 50% (apparently, oau did the post D.E. test just to earn some cool cash). The major requisite for admission is the transcript from previous institution which must be submitted as early as possible. It will interest us to know that merit list has already been compiled. It's expected to be out by this week ending or early next week. After d merit list is the supplementary list which will feature the direct entry and pre-degree student, hence the reason why submission of transcript can't exceed this week.

On the criteria for selection of candidates...well, a baseline score of 50% makes you eligible for further processing. Then your performance as spelt out in the transcript would be the deciding factor...a student with distinction apparently has an edge over a lower credit student.
2. The school you finished from is also verie important. For example a nursing student who finished from OAUTHC has an edge over a nursing student from LUTH even if the latter has a distinction while the former has credit (there're 7 D.E. nursing students in my class who finished from oauthc out of the 15 admitted). Likewise, oau there're some schools that have strong reputations in oau e.g. Yabatech, fedpoly Ede, Fedpoly Ilaro, Fedpoly Ibadan, Fedpoly Offa(m surprised), Laspotech... We should be reminded that a 2:1 candidates from a university(esp. Southwestern universities) wld be preferred to a distinction student from a polytechnic especially into medicine, law, pharmacy.

Those ones i wrote above are the norms...if you really want to get admission against all odds, one has to start pressing some buttons and using some legs(lobby). I'm saying again pls u need to go extra length than staying at home and thinking your transcript wld do. Oau does not have a stipulated no of candidate she takes- 15 candidates were admitted into my department this year while only 2 were admitted year before the last (it depends on vacancy in the department you are applying into)...I'm open to answering any question i know its answer.
Thanks for the info, God bless. Are u a nursing student?
