Crime / Re: Tola Azeez Flogged By Policemen On Her Way To Get Drugs & Some Relief Materials by Hardfact: 4:07pm On Apr 19, 2020
Anyone who has had personal experience with regular Nigerian Police men on the street. certainly does not need to be told the truth, what most
likely transpired even before watching and re-watching it. To be honest, it is out of the ordinary to meet a policeman and see him speak politely or act nicely to you.

An encounter with the police is many a time actually like being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. If you are too polite, it is a sign you are a novice and they will take advantage and want to exploit you and make you guilty over nothing, if you try to be bold and show you right, they will claim you are rude and abusive - Either way, you get screwed.

To make matters worse, the police authorities and high ranking officers are quick to shield their erring juniors when such videos go public and the matter gets to their desk, unless they see the case at hand is beyond their control.

This is Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Video Of Buhari Announcing The Extension Of Lockdown In Lagos, Ogun And FCT by Hardfact: 8:48pm On Apr 13, 2020
cyrilamx:
Don't they have governors in those states? Don't the governors collect security votes of no less than 500m naira monthly? Don't the governor boast like Wike that they are chief security officers of their respective states? Did the governors make recourse to FG before closing the borders of their respective states? if the governors like Ayade, Wike and others can use the FG police and Airforce to effect arrest like the Caverton pilots and maintain law and other, what prevent them from flushing out the hoodlums and ensuring peace? Everything is not FG. hold governors responsible.

It is public knowledge that the law enforcement officers choose at will if to or not to coperate with the governors on various occasions and heaven did not fall. Whom they are under compulsion to obey are the Federal. Governors are mere security chiefs without such much control over them.

Meanwhile, I wonder how much hope these words could inspire amid their poor handling of the situation of things.

Crime / Re: Covid-19 Lockdown: Lagos Unrest, As Residents Live In Fear Of Hoodlums by Hardfact: 5:05pm On Apr 12, 2020
Johnnyoungster:
Hoodlums on rampage and causing havoc to residents living in Agbado Crossing, Ope Ilu, Ijoko, Abule Lemode and the environs. As they all celebrated Easter keeping vigil with all manners of local weapons, charms etc expecting the ungodly visit of the “1 million gang/cult”

The residents turned to Vigilante, to secure the area. Are we on our own now?

What do you think, will they even pick up? Or would has tried these numbers and what was the response like?

Drop your comments below.

Already saw it coming.
Something must definitely give way.
People cannot just be on lock down, staying home and earning nothing, but spending scarce money/resources without serious implications.
Even our leaders know this but as usual they don't just care.

I am thinking will there be food shortage in America? With This way they are responsive and organized.
Since Nigeria always copy from them let's copy this one too

Never expect anything good from those shameless crooks holding Nigeria to ransome.
They are never good at anything good.
However hard they try sounding like they mean well, the evil that they do tell the full story.

Choosing to down play the bloodshed and make it look normal, the recurring wanton killing of innocent people by a set who deliberately organised themselves, armed, preconceived the killings in different states of the same Federal republic and are always going away scotfree, none caught, by the governments military nor police, none punished for taking peoples lives and you expect it to down just like that?

Totally unacceptable!

Looks like sometimes it's so nice being a clown, laughing so lavishly for your master wateva circumstance. Aint it? grin

Yup! "The professional praise singers"
Ssh! Correction - "Professional choir of praise singers". While GEJ is busy with the guitar, the choir will be busy with some nice choruses.

I'd rather pres GEJ plays his rightful fatherly role to Nigerians everyday than play the guitar for us on fathers' day.

Politics / Re: Have You Ever Meet Someone That Live Below $1 Per Day? by Hardfact: 9:37am On Jun 16, 2013
bilms: Let me state it here for the 1st time, 90% of Nigerians live above $1 per day. I said 90% because i can't conclude there are none who live below $1. However, i can say without any biase that, in my travel around Nigeria both north and south, especially among the most poorest people, i have never seen any one that live below $1. Even the most poorest i have encountered in villages except in very few occassions. Have you ever meet someone that live below $1 per day? If yes, what is the percentage?
Don't let your imaginations deceive you. That's one hard part of reality of the Nigerian situation you may have to deal with. As at when that statement was made it was more than true. In truth poverty is a reality.

Oh, @topic, yes evidence all over Abia, the dustbin State truly marks the end of speculations, confirms that rightfully Abia is the dirtiest state in Nigeria. Who wana contest?
Politics / Re: June 12 Annulment Was Payment For Abiola’s Evil Deeds – Sen Owie by Hardfact: 4:46pm On Jun 13, 2013
Abiola may never have been a saint. But his death and June 12 now seem to make him sympathetically so. I recall some Yorubas who ironically said similar negative things about him, that the anulment after the election was a blessing to Nigeria.

Politics / Re: Oshiomhole Bans Okada In Benin City by Hardfact: 7:42pm On Jun 11, 2013
. . Guess we can now add that for our govs the ban of okadas is height of security? If ever you were successfully making your daily bread through the humble okada riding, now you must be on a long thing.

Reminds me a lorry load full of confiscated bikes I saw somewhere around Surulere this afternoon. Again, reminds me how the Lagos police chase them about wherever (even the inner streets), with such unlimited freedom like an exorcist is chasing some wild demons from hell.

Politics / Re: Cleric Calls For Christian Governor In Lagos State Elections by Hardfact: 7:23pm On Jun 11, 2013
It'd be nice to see a xtian govern Lagos, at least for some level of fairness. All the same, what is really critical is one who can reach out to the masses, esp the poor, irrespective of faith. Recall Yoruba muslims are know to differ in tolerance unlike their Northern counterparts.

The simple fact that it is difficult to recall any widely reported/noted occasions where Buhari at least, busted out, condemning the Bokoharam and co, seem his greatest undoing.
Politics / Re: PDP To ACN: Stop Hiding Your Support For Insurgents by Hardfact: 8:00am On Jun 11, 2013
ACN should be cautious how they choose to play their politics, and know when to draw the line. In issues like this we ordinarily expect them to throw their full weight behind the FG to trash it out once and for all. Bokoharams are enemies to all and friends to none, and they and their likes should be dealt with decisively.
