To me ethnic bigotry is as a result of the general failings of this country. I don't expect much positive change anytime soon with the current pace we're treading. Education of modern standards is more important than ever before and we're not even trying to play catch up talk more of competing.
The reality of gloom and doom will be over our heads for a long time I'm afraid; of which ethnic bigotry is a symptom.
alphaNomega: Rumuokoro does not need a flyover. It needs
1. Strict traffic enforcement i.e. stop commercial vehicles from stopping, parking and picking passengers in that area.
2. Anti street trading enforcement. Those traders that place their tables to occupy one full lane should be moved into the markets.
The roundabout is big enough to take any volume of traffic you throw at it! Even if you construct a flyover, as long as the two points stated above remains, rumuokoro traffic will remain a nightmare to Port Harcourt drivers.
Rumuokoro does not need a flyover? This is strange thinking indeed.
safarigirl: perceived prejudice against your person.
What is simple instruction to you, might not be simple to someone else.
True, but considering how Nigerians --home and abroad-- can be, I wouldn't be quick to dismiss the OP's claims as petty. Except you think his basis on such claims are invalid and we should not be concerned.
safarigirl: Some complaints here are petty and unnecessary
The fellow that did not want to give his ID probably had valid reasons you are blissfully unaware of, for not giving that ID. Just because you decided to be a good little boy and sit on the ground for thw police doesn't mean everybody should do same.
And this one you came here to report all the ethnic groups in Nigeria from the abroad, you, what are the negative traits you have equally exhibited there? It is easy to report others, while parading yourself as an epitome of a law-abiding citizen.
In a real world scenario, what good reason can you pin point for not obeying simple instruction?
Ceegar01: I think fashola is making a great point there imagine the amount of money states like Ogun, Delta and Rivers State are claiming to have spent on federal roads which i know they didn't.
Cost of road repair is higher in the South regardless. The terrain is different. All Nigerian governors are thieves.
Gone are the days kidnappings were mostly restricted to the Niger Delta. The kidnapping business is booming gradually it seems. Somebody cannot make money and enjoy it again.
Do they have papers? I hope they won't go there and 'dominate' the locals now that they're already talking about laziness.
This useless pride and uncouth nature of Nigerians will take us nowhere honestly. Nigerians are simply carrying the brunt of lawlessness to these countries. In the 21st century, welfare from the government in certain areas is the norm in most sane countries. That you're not used to such privileges in the least is not the fault of your hosts. We don't need another case in our hands please.
Hmmm. By the end of this year, everything will be forgotten.
Nigerian politicians are just as foolish as their South African counterparts. Until they realise that the opinion of the masses ≠ decision of the leaders, we'll continue running around in circles.
I'm very serious man! Xiaomi has an exposure problem that makes photos appear washed out. Anyhow you look at it, it's a problem. I like Xiaomi, but when it comes to camera, I don't think they rate high enough.
The Saudis can acquire as many sophisticated weaponry as they please, but Iran will always have the upper hand in the region. You can't engage militias with unmotivated soldiers.
Nice. Nigeria's male teams are usually unreliable these days - football included. You cannot confidently predict their win. I hope we won't be disappointed this time around.
This xenophobia of a thing a truly showcasing the white-worship as$ licking tendency of Nigerians. Most of us are just using this opportunity to display our innate inferiority complex; South Africans and Nigerians alike.
There's no excuse for the actions of the South Africans. The country has always been violent even before the end of apartheid. The violence did not just disappear into thin air. The Government of the country needs to responsible for once and stop blaming their problems on anybody/anything that is not a Black South African. The dearth of good leadership is what is affecting them not foreigners.
This notion of white superiority is a dangerous mindset that needs to die.
Sicksoul: It's kinda hard to believe this *real-life story*. Like a whole fucking bullet in your head and you don't notice anything? bro, tell me which ion you are made of, Because I know Tony stark won't say this kinda fable.
Brain is not everything but you think it was nothing to us, Ode carry your shît to those that appreciate it.
There's nothing hard to believe there. It happens more often than you think.
Eddygourdo: ha... Not a swallow? How is it then eaten Biko.
Cutlery (just spoon for most people). It doesn't have the same texture as pounded yam or any other swallow. Don't be deceived by the photo. Then you have your stew (or sauce).
JayPeeOham: Why boil the yam and plantain separately when u can simply put same in the same pot and boil?....which in turns saves time and gas!........abi u want make hunger kill person?
You can actually boil it in the same pot. You'd have to boil the yam slices first. When it's soft, you can add the plantain. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
