SmithRussell: You dey joke??
Before I gained admission my WPM peaked 108 bros. I know why you feel that you’re fast. When I was at 80 AWPM, I felt like the fastest in the world until I searched Google and found out that someone had typed at 240+, even though it was a customized keyboard, omo I had to humble up and improve with MB, importing my own texts, since I was already too familiar with most of the ones inside Mavis Beacon
That shiit depends on constant practice. That was 6 years ago. I haven’t done any form of fast typing for some years now but I’m certain that my speed is never going to go below 70 WPM, unless I’m above 50, or if I stop using a phone/laptop, or if the QWERTY layout changes. 108? That's crazy, man. |

pocohantas: Audit firms do not pay so much in Nigeria, this includes the Big 4s. However, they have a fast, clear and defined career path, not forgetting excellent career growth. So, forget the money, the experience is worth it. Majority of them do not even stay long there, once they get that boost on their CV, they start jumping upandan like ashewo.
Perhaps, but I don't know really. I know someone who was in KPMG. One thing I know is it didn't take long before he got a 2009 Camry and rented a 400k house in Surulere and furnished it... BEfore we know what's up, he was already working with one auditing firm in the UK. Don't know if it's Coppers & Libra or something. Not sure. Came back, got married and returned to the UK. After about three months, he took his wife there. It was fast. He did Elect-elect in UNN, and he sabi book. In summary, I doubt KPMG pays 120k a month. |

GboyegaD: BCH doesn't have a good reputation but funny enough, my graduating set produced a 1st class. Abi? They have people that do well, albeit. But omo, e tough. It is well sha. Last last, OAU isn't for the faint-hearted. My cousin used to say, "Ije Ife, ikwete." More like, "If you go, na him you go gree." It's difficult to tell what OAU is like when you're not a student. Until you go... and then confirm. |
Education › Re: Two OAU Students Commit Suicide by Hausa(m): 9:18am On Apr 21, 2021 |
prettyaura: from what you have written, its obvious you didnt graduate from OAU..nobody will go to a school like OAU and come online to write wat you have written here..except maybe you didnt graduate with a @least a 2:2..quote me anywhere...NO ONE GOES TO A PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITY LIKE OAU AND COME BACK AFTER 10YRS TO SAY THEY REGRET IT...WHATS YOUR POINT EXACTLY? A lot of people have expressed that feeling. Are you him to know what/how he feels? I was in Ife too, and I nearly got depressed. Or maybe I did sef. I got frustrated and just wanted to leave. Well, eventually I didn't sink. But I tell you what, people sink in that school. For those who really had a good foundation of planning academically from primary-secondary school, who have had a natural reading culture, Ife is not as tough as it is as per workload for these set of people. But what happens if you missed that foundation and then stumble into Ife as a student? First, there'd be excitement as per I'm a student of Ife, but subsequently it starts to creep in. Things that are not load start becoming loads... and then they turn to stress. Coupled with fetching water from upstairs, going as far as Edm or Agric to read just because your room mates in Awo or Angola perpetually cannnot give you the light of day. And then the fact that you'll struggle to cook, eat, etc. For some, it is strength. Some, building up tough mentality. What about others? They fall apart like a deck of cards and then start to get disenchanted. Some lose grades and start to go down academically, some can no longer plan their time. It is for that reason that I tell people that there's a reason there're all sorts of orientations... from school mgt, faculty, dept, hostel, church, lecturers, etc., when you come in. Because people know how tough it is. It isn't for the weak. These orientations in one way or the other tries to reset your mind once in a while. Because there, your mind setting can go haywire. I know because I've been there. I've seen with my eyes. So if you really passed through Ife, you'd know this because you HAVE BEEN THERE DONE THAT. Unless you didn't. Cos it begs the question as to why you'd make that statement. |

GboyegaD: You finished from Ife too? Wow, you sounded like someone who either studied physical sciences or Biochemistry based on the report you gave. My cousin was in BCH in Ife. 8-9 years spent. Gbagura: I've said it that Igbos can't even play this tribal cards they claim to be good at. Yorubas treat their f'up silently with no noise. Those igbos that have been messed up several times understand what I'm saying. Those 'Lagos is a no man's land' chanters have had their fair share of the real owners of Lagos.
I love humanity regardless of who you are but growing up, I realized most igbos doesn't deserve to be loved cos they openly claim to hate you yet I don't understand why they've refused to stop coming to Yoruba land. You tend to hate people, you then had to come to their land to show them that you hate them and you expect not to be hammered on the head in response?
Civil War never ended in reality. The advantage Yoruba have is that people troop to our region more than the other way round.
Watch them start spewing trash instead of looking for ways to get their heads reset. It is said that the area or environment you grow up in influences you. This is what must've happened to you, unfortunately. Such that after many years, one can see how you're spewing it. It sounds bitter and hurtful. And the way I see it, I can tell from the tone that it's eating you deeply on the inside. Good news is some of us didn't have these kind of experiences until we got much older. Education even helped to make us have a better understanding of the anomaly. You're either too young, not too educated, or have little or no experience. I wish you gain more of the aforementioned moving forward. It'll go a long way. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Have You Ever Lost A Job Due To Your Tribe by Hausa(m): 12:47pm On Mar 12, 2021 |
Cashsteady: But let's be honest Igbo people too get wahala too much.... The problem one Igbo man gave my landlord in my former house made that landlord stop renting house to Igbos... This is not about tribalism or something I think the company action to that was maybe because they had a bad experience with an employee..igbo people should learn how to comport and should learn how to relate well with other tribes.. These things happen. Growing up, my landlord was a Yoruba Muslim. We lived peacefully till we left. When we moved to our house, we rented to Yorubas, who lived peacefully too. The idea of using one scenario to generalize is a tad unintelligent. There're lots of Igbos and Yorubas living peacefully in Lagos. I lived in a Yoruba man and Hausa man's house too... In peace. That I did it no mean sey make the other person do am. Orientations are different. Stop the idea of using one scenario to do agenda. It's wrong. Totally. |
