He is in Hammarby Taalang (their youth team in the 2nd or 3rd division).
He has played 12 matches and scored 4 goals. I hope he makes it to the main team
as he is an attacking midfielder. His name is Alfred Olatomi Olaniyan.

By the way if our Nigerian League was good, they will easily develop these young stars and sell them to
European leagues in maybe France. We need a good local league but that is another story
Thanks for the update.
I remember one time while sleeping in the hostel those days and hearing people shouting Aguero up and down. The lad had just come in as a fresher and was mesmerising a lot of senior players in the hostel miniature field.
I was like "who be this dude wey everyone just dey talk about sef?" I went to see for myself...
On sighting him I'm like, "naaa, this guys height is a bit too low to eventually blow." Because he was short. I underestimated him. Well, I was to be wrong.

By the time I took my time to watch this guy, I'd consider him arguably one of the best young players I've ever seen.
OMG! This guy was something else. A beast who had developed a foundational and intelligent football brain.
His ball control, deft touch, awareness and ability to beat strikers was on a god-mode level... not to mention his ability to score and the fact that he was entertaining and exciting. I immediately predicted he'd go far.
Like play like play I heard he had repped us for African U17 but was unfortunately sidelined for the U17 wc.
I wasn't surprised when I later heard he was in Sweden.

Like, there are lots of players that are good. But no way will you watch this guy play and not want him called up for bigger things.

You see, hammarby will develop Akinkunmi Amoo into a world class player.
The greatest problem African players have is situating a club that is
actually interested in developing them.
All these famous clubs are not interested in developing local African talent.
The clubs that are developmental in nature are:
1. Red Bull Salzburg: This is very obvious
2. Nordjallen: This club developed Mohammed kudus
3. Hammarby (where Akinkunmi Amoo is)
4. Generaly, the Nordish leagues (i.e Norway, Sweeden and Denmark).
5. The Belgian league
6. Isreal league where peter Olawale is (his club is a developmental club)
6. Man city subsidiaries like sk lommel and one club in France etc
. Ifk Gothenburg (that developed alhassan yusuf
Midtyland that developed Onuachu, onyeka etc
5. Others i cant remember or do not know

Hammarby is particularly interested in West African players and the owner of Sidos (Akinkunmi Amoo's football academy)
actually has an agreement with them. He could have been sold to a bigger club
but his managers refused as they did not have a developmental plan for him.
This is where our u17's should go. Going to a big club can be counter-productive.
Our youths fail in Europe because they go to the wrong environment but i am very happy we have learnt our lessons
Samson Tijani's movement to Red Bull Salzburg was brilliant as they are committed to youth development
There are some clubs in Europe our youths should not even go to or at best such clubs should sell/loan them immediately.
Anyway i commend Liverpool for developing Taiwo Awoniyi well. They constantly loaned him to where he could get playing time
until they found a good club for him in Germany where he will be played as he is their most expensive player there.
Our u17's and u20's will now suceed in Europe more often because we now know the importance of developmental football
and not rushing someone to Barcelona after scoring 15 goals in a youth competition.

Lastly Pele said Africa will win the world cup because African footballers will go to Europe and learn
and i think he was right.
Nice report. Please do you have an update on a certain Tomi (Aka Aguero).
I think he left the shores of Nigeria with Amoo or something. He was once seen in a picture with Ibrahimovic.
Ever heard of him?

Switching nationality is always very complicated, Eagles’ Scout, Adelakun explains
By Ayo Olu Ibidapo - July 21, 2021 712 0

Super Eagles Chief Scout, Tunde Adelakun has revealed some of the challenges facing the country in getting players of Nigerian descent to commit their full International future to Nigeria as the NFF continues to ensure the best players lace their boots for the country at all levels, AOIFootball.com reports.

In an exclusive interview with AOIFootball.com, Mr Tunde who also doubles as an Assistant Coach to the NFF, also stated that the federation still has an abundance of talent spread across the globe just waiting to be scouted.

“The job has not been difficult at all. I think the only difficulty is the rather good problem we always have – having to pick from an abundance of good performers in the various leagues.

“That is a good problem to have, although it has its pitfalls but we try not to overthink it,” Tunde reasoned.

Having already secured the international future of German-born defender Kevin Apoguma, Tunde and his scouting team now have a big task in their hands to bring home the duo of Michel Olise and Eberechi Eze, with the Eagles scout revealing a much bigger problem than what the fans think should always happen.

“Nationality switch is very complicated. A player who was born in a country perhaps has been developed by the country where he or she was born to get to a point where he or she is being courted by one or two nations. It will always be difficult.

“Some of them only know the UK as a home for instance. Because that’s where they grew up. So they need to be softly convinced to jump ship. Makes it more complicated when they have played at one age-grade level for the European country where they were born. They need to write a letter unequivocally stating that they want to come to play for Nigeria, and that by writing that letter, they have given up their rights to ever play for their country of birth.

“That can be really scary for a young player. But they do. Then they need to prove their Nigerian citizenship. By having a passport of their own or at least for one of their parents to have a valid Nigerian passport. This proof of citizenship is key,” Tunde further revealed.

He also went ahead to state that the most tasking part of the process also has to do with the other Nation’s FA to give a no-objection verification which sometimes slows the entire process and can even drag endlessly.

“We also have to request from the nation’s FA (England and the home countries if the player is from the UK) asking them to give a no-objection verification to the NFF for the release of the player. Sometimes this is difficult because the said FA might still feel they potentially could do with the player’s services in the future.

“It’s when we get the no-objection confirmation that we can put it all together in a package and submit to FIFA for their approval,” Mr Tunde concluded.

The NFF have in the past lured players of dual citizenship to represent Nigeria, with the Eagles profiting instantly from Victor Moses who helped Nigeria to glory at the AFCON in 2013 having dumped England at that time.

That move did inspire the likes of Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Josh Maja, and most recently, Ovie Ejaria to switch allegiances from the UK with the switch now also reflecting in the Super Falcons with the likes of Leicester City’s Megan Ashleigh and Mowaninuola Dada of Watford joining up with the Team in their Austria camp.

Well this explains it all. Unless there is something else they re not telling us.
I overheard Victor Moses wasn't raised in England but Nigeria.
Am I mistaken?

In La liga, the rule is that first-team players (A-Team) are given 25 slots and MUST wear numbers 1-25. Keepers are given special numbers 1,13 & 25.

It's hard to retire jersey number(s) in Spain because of the said rule. Sevilla tried to retire Puerta's but could not unless they are ready to play with -1.

And also, Alaba is a BIG player.

YOu are right. Hitler was once president of Germany and his rascist ideology was used as an instrumentality of government.
As popular as he was, he was not germany. The federal republic of Germany lived on after him.
Germans are not Hitlerites and after his demise, his ideology was done with and Germany redefined herself as a nation.
Nigeria has existed and will exist after Buhari and his activities cannot be used to define Nigeria.
As a sports man, you are representing the nation of Nigeria and in 100 years time if you win an Olympic Gold,
you will have won it for your Country and not your president (buhari or whosoever).
The nation of Nigeria belongs to the people of Nigeria and its citizens no matter how much our leaders
like to bully us and mismanage the country.

However, with the way things are going Nigeria may not last more than 15 to 25 years.
I forsee a massive civil war, insurgency or uprising which the Governmet wil not be able to contain
and which will lead to 2 things.
1 Either we have a regional Government where peace and justice reigns
2 We break up and disintegrate as a nation.

Our leaders cannot see beyong 2023. Even if they succeed in 2023 by 2035 Nigeria may be facing disintegration and civil war
and they will not even have a country to rule over.

Nigerian leaders are ignorant, short sighted and myopic and lack the vision for long term planning.
They are just brianless. They believe eronousely that because they are in power, they can get away with anything
but they lack the wisdom to know that very soon, they will not even have a country to rule and they
might lead Nigeria on the road to Mogadishu and Somalia.
If care is not taken Nigeria may produce a Charles Taylor who will cause a 5 year civil war that will lead to disintegration.

Nigerian leaders are underrating the capacity of the masses and the certain section of the country to protest and fight for their rights.
Our leaders will be shocked by the strange turn of events
I'd be lying if I say your comment on our Nation haven't crossed my mind a couple of times. I can envisage it, but to an extent I'm hoping things change fast before it gets to a head.

E no go funny at all.

I had a very tough childhood, one of those things that made it worse is the false accusations, whenever anything goes missing or misplaced, i am always held responsible, and i will be tortured till I confess to a crime i did not commit, most times I wonder if i somehow steal those things most especially money and jewelries in my unconsciousness, it messed my life up, i became lost, i had no one to speak to, even in the house it was like they all gang up against me,i was always depressed, sick, disoriented, i was gradually losing my sanity,i was just a teenager, i was brilliant but yet I keep repeating classes,i became aggressive, tempermental, zero social skill, all because i was a child and cannot defend myself, ps I grew up with my aunty...but the last time another aunty tried it with me....hehee..she saw crazy that dat! But it still hurt me till today because I was innocent of those accusations and most importantly my relationship with those aunties and cousins can never be cordial coz am suppose to be greatfull to them but I hate them because they messed my life up..
I know that, right? I can relate 100%.
It messed me up big time too. They'd say I'm supposed to be grateful, but they've got no idea what harm they've caused.

But for real, Ezego is a legend. The great Udubunch of Africa; Onyeocha bialu uwa na ôji. The only man, dead or alive, that used to spray money in bundles. . .heard he would literally 'stone' celebrants with endless wads of mint N20 or N50 notes at the time. His wealth was so monumental that even Abacha felt threatened and had to detain him for some months on trumped up charges until he became assured that the man was not a threat to his administration and then released him (lol).

As for how he became so wealthy, well, let's just say he was a hardworking 'international businessman' - who also enjoyed a little help from 'benevolent spirits'. His (residential) glass house in Ajao Estate was a wonder at the time (not anymore), and so was his electronics plaza on Allen Avenue.

Some of his 'young money' contemporaries at the time included the likes of Igwe John 'Joneb' Nnebolisa, Chief IKB Igboanugo, Igwe 'Lulu Case' Kelly, etc. These were pioneers. . .men wey open eye very very early when others never sabi anything. To be honest, I can't say Udubunch was much wealthier than the rest, maybe he was just far more generous and flamboyant.
Who's here reading this after seeing the Oba fanfare of Obi Cubana et al?
