So now everyone realizes the award lost relevance since 2010.
Imagine last year the best coach was given to Jurgen Klopp, and a Bayern coach who cleared everything was snubbed, yet you all didn't see that. When Pep cleared it all, he was clearly given, but when Bayern equals the record their coach was snubbed.
It's just bad enough knowing Messi receives these award when he clearly didn't deserve it in 2010, even 2019, and now this.
Clueless football fans will bring CR7 to the topic, but his 2013 award that he didnt deserve, he paid for it with the 2019 that he deserved which he didn't win.
That of Leo, please don't come with goals goals goals, as you clearly don't have an idea of football if you keep bringing the Eibar man here.
Football fans argued he won't do well outside Barca, just imagine how he has made them feel right with the PSG show now, just imagine.
My take is, i think all Bayern players should boycott that award for life, the club deserves better respect.

See talk! If you are not married you are called names! We are shamed by families and by friends into marriage. We are been told if you don't settled down at 20's forget it at 30's. Society called women in their 30's different names. I understand why she couldn't wait

It takes a very very strong woman not to bend to pressure.

The single lives they are all afraid of is what they later end up with in their 30's and 40's but this time with kids. Is that not foolishness.
Omo, you just said it all.
See how a lot of these ladies live a regrettable life being single moms. Others cope with cheating guy, other have to drag attention with number 2 woman.

You will need to understand the difference between the old testament and the new testament. The old testament is more about Israel while the new testament is about the Church. You will have to come to the presence of God to bless your marriage. You need to know that you are more a Christian than a traditional man. The Jew rejected Christ because of their tradition.

As a Christian after your traditional marriage it is important that you do the church aspect of it. Since you are a Christian it is important that the church blessing rest upon your marriage.
Note before; I am not concerned about those ceremony that involve spending. Do your traditional marriage, take your ring to your church, let the pastor or Rev bless both of you and go home. No be by force to pay for hall and cook food. That is where people are getting Church marriage wrong. They only equate Church marriage to spending by doing all those things. If you have money for gown, wear your gone and the main his suit then go and bless your union and it ends there.
There can be no greater blessing than that which you parents bless you with, not even the best prophet can bless you more.

This post is for intending grooms.

I made this post because it was one of the major reasons I parted with my ex(it was a serious relationship) few years ago, then I wasn't financially stable as I am now, so my decision was inline with my capability then. She told me she won't move in with me unless I do church wedding even after the trad. and she was serious about it. She wasn't ready to reason with me.

Considering the fact that majority of the men( those within the marriageable age range and above but are not financially stable enough to run everything at once) have the plan of doing the white wedding first, later on do the church wedding when they are more financially stable.

This led me to running a check recently and I find out that in some homes or families, they don't allow their daughters to move in with their husbands even after the men have paid their bride prices, until the church(or white) wedding has been done.

Dear single men, what do you think about this?
Can you cope with it until you're ready for your church wedding?

To the married ones, did you experience this?
How were you able to handle it?

MODs, please do the needful.
It is better to have the conversation early to know the smart/mumu with you o.
Once bride price is paid, that is it. White wedding is the traditional wedding in the Western world, our people just perish for the fact that their mumu can never do.
A man pays bride price and wedding is done, what else with these people?

This story reminds me of what Megareal (a nairaland user) said about marriage, on a different thread the 14th day of April 2021. I will never forget what she said because I thought it was profound, the full text is below.

See more of what she said below........
How many ladies can you explain this to?
Have you seen ladies months before wedding? They don't think about what family could distract them from, they are so focused on how the pictures they will take and post should/would look like, they want to "pepper" social media as they see it, (Dem no know say na for just people to post their pictures and move on).
Some careers die the year they get married, they think life is a movie (mostly for Naija here) they don't know the disadvantage that comes afterward when the children start coming, as they won't be able to take care of the home and the attention their job may demand if they don't have a caring husband that wants them to grow in their career. I can go on and on and on, that's why I am not excited about weddings here in Nigeria (aside make I chop semo and better soup).
I really don't understand how some ladies forget their career once they are married, many forget to remain as attractive as they begin to add unnecessary weight. Like it is baffling, why then did they waste money going to school? Getting married is not an achievement, we need to ring this thing in their heads, as divorce is getting higher yearly, meaning any home can hit the rock anytime if the smallest matter is not attended to.

I had that issue after my first child, after 8 years of 3 children I've learnt to live with that. I think it is just in mothers to behave that way. I just pray to God for grace to continually provide for family rather than start shouting of less attention, time, love or meat lol grin grin

What has really helped me to get loved as much as my children is helping my wife love the children in little things in the way she understands as love, like helping with assignments, play time, bathing them, feeding them, outing, shopping and going to bank, my children like going to bank maybe because from bank we usually branch shop rite or buy toys that will be lost or damaged the next day.

Husbands are babies to their wives until the real babies come you will know your real position. It may continue this way until your children are grown and leaves your house, then your wife can come back to you.

But some are not not this way. My wife loves and cares for me so much but she puts extra when it's the children maybe just maybe because because they are children
Wow, you really nailed it.

My husband has an uncomplicated house before we got married. After we got married he moved to the UK and we continue building the house while his Dad goes there to supervise.
One day his parent said their landlord ask them to move out of their rented apartment and they will like to move to our house.
My husband told them they can’t as they house is still under construction and we are building it for our own personal use. He even went ahead to let them know that the money used to built the house is not just his but both his and his wife’s money, so they can not move there.
We gave them money to rent another apartment.
We kept asking when they will move, but they said they will and keep procrastinating the moving date.
We got a call from them today saying that they have moved to our house.
What do I do in this situation?
Madam, for peace and love, don't say a word when your husband is handling things with his parents.
Have a good discussion with him, let him handle the rest with wisdom.
Hmmmm, You really need wisdom here, there are times our parents hurt us and we just have to understand things from their point and life, life may be really challenging for them, but let your husband handle this with utmost wisdom.
Please, don't get involved when he is speaking with his parents, for peace and love, don't get involved. In fact when the heat is much, try to calm both parties down. It is just a property, there are people who even wish their parents can move into their house right now.
Please, let wisdom be used.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Some Jobs That Will Soon Be Gone For Good by Heavance(m): 2:07pm On Sep 26, 2021
4kelly4handsome:
Here are nine jobs that will be obsolete in few years:

1. Taxi Drivers:
With the increasing popularity of rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft, the traditional taxi driver who works for a taxi Company faces extinction. Running a taxi company is much more expensive than ridesharing, but regular taxi services can not compete with the pricing models of the new transportation model.

2. Bank Tellers:
When was the last time you walked into a physical bank and conducted a financial
service with a bank teller? Automation
and artificial intelligence is quickly replacing this long-standing job. Most loans can be completed and through an app, and checks can be deposited directly Over your mobile phone. For cash transactions, automatic teller machines can increasingly perform more complicated tasks previously completed by a human being.

3. Cashiers:
There may always be a need for one or two cashiers in a store for price check issues and other common purchasingg problems, but the standard cashier jobis in danger. Self-checkout machines and the move towards digital currency are quickly automating the jobs of cashiers.

4. Telemarketer:
While most of us cheer the idea of
telemarketers going away, this doesnt mean we will no longer receive unsolicited phone calls. Currently, most of the telemarketing calls are conducted by automation and Switched over to a person when specific criteria are met. Howeve, those in the telemarketing industry actively look for ways to automate even the current human process.

5. Dispatchers: (except emergency services) Dispatchers for typical service industry jobs such as plumbers, taxi drivers, and other services are quickly being replaced by automation. Over the next five years, most of these jobs will likely be replaced by computers. While we believe machines may eventually replace emergency service dispatchers, this will take longer than five years.

6. Watch repairers: there are two significant concerns with the watch repair jobs that are still in existence. First, many people are switching over to smartwatches that integrate with their phones. Any issues with smartwatches are usually too complex for a traditional watch repairer, so these watches must go back to the manufacture. Second, as automation replaces many in the manufacturing industry, traditional watches tend to get cheaper while watch repair costs are increasing

7. Printing press operators:
Printed media is a quickly dying medium.
While magazines and newspapers are still printed in small quantities, the next five years will show a massive push to strictly digital content. The printing press operators will still be needed for some required publications, but their overall numbers will be all but obsolete.

8. Bus Drivers: Driverless vehicles are becoming much more common, and we are sure public transportation is soon to follow Traditional bus drivers will soon be replaced by driverless transportation to increase efficiency and lower government Costs.

9. Librarians: With the move towards digital media and libraries turning to self serve kiosks, the traditional librarian role is quickly disappearing. With the move towards digital media and libraries turning to self serve kiosks, the traditional librarian role is quickly disappearing

Key Take-Aways
Finding a recession-proof job is essential to preparing for future uncertainty.
By focusing on industry trends and the future of automation, we can better for
careers that can pass the test of time.
Aside number 9,
All the write up is false as long as you are in Nigeria.
Reality is different from what is written here. For instance no 6, 1% of Nigerians are not using smart watch, so what are we concluding?

Iamagoodgirll:
So I came across this post in a group

NL guys have you experienced this?, also share your view.

I NEED ADVAISE FROM A MALE READERS:

And no, my story is not made up. It’s for real, actually very real. I am a top executive of a very successful conglomerate my father founded. I resumed the job early this year when I returned from the U.K after completing my MBA.
As a result of my job, I usually find myself frequenting places I ordinarily wouldn’t want to- Ikoyi club, society weddings, conferences, etc. I’m a geek for the most part, and something of a recluse. I would rather stay in my house at the end of day and watch TV. When I became Deputy CEO of the company, I realized that I had to start hanging out at these places to build a social circle, mostly for business reasons. I am not a very sociable person, but with the help of my more outgoing cousins, I have been able to build a pretty decent network of Lagos ‘big boys’ between January when I returned and now.

During a conference in Lagos this year, I was approached by a young lady banker. She was working in the Marketing department at one of these banks, She’s pretty young- about 7 years my junior. I’m 28; this lady is about 21. You know how young these graduates are these days.

Anyway, she walked up to me and started persuading me to consider opening up a bank account with her bank and told me all the benefits of the account, etc. She looked so innocent and desperate, and practically begged me for an opportunity to see me again so that she could convince me. I ended up giving her my complimentary card. I usually don’t just give out my card like that, but I did.
Three days later, when I was hanging out with my new-found friends and my cousins at a bar at one of the Hotels on the Island during the early evening, this girl called me and reminded me who she was. She said she really needed me to open an account, and that she was eager to convince me on why I needed to open an account. My friends noticed I was talking to a girl on the phone. You know how guys are; they teased me and asked me to just play around with her and invite her for drinks.
I asked her to come over to the Hotel, and surprisingly, she said she would be there in 20 minutes. The branch she worked in is on the Island, so she apparently took a Bike and came to meet us. This was about 6pm. The girl came, and my friends all saw her. They smiled and talked among themselves in hush tones, and I talked briefly with her for like 5 minutes and told her I would make a decision on banking with her or not. She was desperate from what I could see, and she was eager to get my account.

When she left, my friends all laughed mischievously and told me in plain terms that I had to sleep with the girl. They went on talking about how all these bank marketers sleep with different men before getting deposits, and insisted that I must not be any different. Now, I’m not a virgin; I’ve had my own fair share of sex in the past, but I’ve never been one to take advantage of a girl. I knew she was desperate as she had a target to meet up to, or something of the sort. But when you’re a guy hanging out with guys, it’s pretty difficult to be the odd one out. All my friends made me promise that I’d sleep with the girl. I promised; I didn’t want to look like some geek. And I’m really trying to feel among these guys.

To cut a long story short, two days later, when I was in my office, this girl called me and tried persuading me to bank with her. As she was talking to me on phone, I asked her jokingly: “What are you willing to do in order for me to open an account with you?”

She hesitated and then she told me: “Anything you want sir.”

Gbam! That was my cue. I asked her to meet me at one hotel for drinks later that evening. I asked my PA to book a room for me at the Hotel. She came to meet me. We had drinks, we chatted. She told me that her bosses had ordered her to deliver N10million to the bank that month, and that so far, she hadn’t gotten anything. Her job was on the line, and she had only just started working there 3 weeks before. I asked her to follow me to the room. She did. I slept with her.

Surprisingly, it turns out she was doing it for the first time. She was actually a Virgin. The bed sheet was stained with her blood and all that stuff, and I was just amazed. I thought being a marketer and all, that she would have been sampled many times. But no, she was a virgin. When we finished, she was shy of looking at me in the eye. We didn’t talk much. I gave her money for a Taxi, and gave her the name of the Finance director of the subsidiary I am in charge of. I asked her to meet him the following day to open up a corporate account. I instructed the guy to open up an account worth a few hundreds of millions- probably enough to meet her target for the next 2 years if there is such a thing in commercial banking circles. I don’t know how these banks work.

Anyway, she called me and thanked me profusely for saving her job. My friends now know I have slept with her, and I have solidified my place among them as a ‘bad’ guy.

The issue is this: I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. It’s been like six weeks now. I haven’t called her since then, even though she keeps sending me text messages asking after my wellbeing and thanking me for banking with her. She deals directly with my Finance guy so we don’t talk money ever. But I think about her every day. I think I actually have feelings for her, and the idea that I was her first makes me feel like she should belong to me. I’ve never been a Lady’s first. I’m actually going crazy with thoughts about this girl.

Am I crazy? Should I call her up and ask her out? How would that feel? How would she react? Also, considering that my friends all see her as the bank ‘LovePeddler’ would it be a good idea to still ask her out? How will my friends see me? I’m not looking for sex from her; I’m looking for something real, something intimate. I want something that’d last- probably forever.

I’ve never felt this way about any other lady in a really really long time. What should I do?
Thank God you have experienced this first hand, what ladies pass through to hold on to a damn job.
The pressure to meet target, if you don't take up the job, the presidents word rings in your head "lazy Nigerian youth".
I am in no place to condemn you, your position alone will make me regard you with respect, age na just number (you know what I mean).
My take is, why not give her a call, and change her career path with your position? Help her out before this pressure of target will completely set her to a path of destruction...
Think about this please.
I had a colleague who got help in a similar style, her life is far better now.
Like I said, I am in no place to condemn you, if you help her now, the good work alone would immortalise your name in her heart.

Smile4mee01:
Sometimes I take a look back on marriages in my family and the society and see where exorbitant amounts were spent on wedding ceremonies only for the marriages to hit the rocks a few years later.

Is it not better to celebrate 20/30/40 years wedding anniversary than the wedding itself? Because that way one can take stock of one's life, see how either partner has been a blessing to each other, and move on.

Even in university admission, Matriculation is not celebrated as much, but graduation. Even graduation comes with mixed reactions because you never know if you will get a job with it, or even keep it away ad hustle in business.

I remember weddings of Tiwa savage, toke makinwa that year. E loud, Even the FCMB saga banker who died, celebrated his wedding not knowing what the future held. We often forget the risk involved. Many men and women have had their lives worsened via the marriage intuition. Some have also made their lives better.

Also, Almost all marriages had prayers in it. before and after prayers, was it that those prayers were not answered or what went wrong?

In a nutshell, I believe and support marriages. I just don't think it makes no sense to go over and beyond celebrating marriages nowadays with the inherent risk of the union ending up. I would rather spend on an anniversary, on my partner, celebrating and thanking God for a successful union so far.

All of these things make me observe.
Hmmm...
Omo, on this topic, I believe we think alike seriously. You just said what I always think o.
When I see people inviting many people for the wedding celebrations, and posting many pictures on social media...... It is always a No No for me.
Some believe I am too serious, but I think ahead with my head. It is better we celebrate 5 years anniversary as the start, than uploading proposal & prewedding pics on all social media platforms, in the name of being woke.
A man easily moves on, but the women who are always more affected are the ones who jump at uploading pictures & videos here and there.
We are not saying people should not celebrate as some people will think, but the goal should be focused on celebrating 5 years anniversary as a start, then 10 years and so on.... Not decorating social media with big elaborate weddings and within 2 years, stories of crash jumps in.

Thanks bro. To be honest I was so afraid to allow her in my house but my wife had reassured me that she wasn't a witch, she said her mother has sacrifice a lot for them imagine being a single mother of 7 children in this country after everything she passed through taking care of them all alone and for these children to grew up and tagged her a witch it's very sad and heartbroken. I don't know but there is no way that she is a witch I just don't believe it too, I think her children are being lied to by fake prophets.
You see, there is a lot mothers face that children will never understand, no matter how old they are... And when some unnecessary prophets lie to them, it becomes a problem.
After raising 7 kids alone, and being tagged a witch, do they know how bad that woman would have begged for death?
You see ehn.. There are some sins God can never forgive us for.
Forget he is a merciful God, but there is a kine we must never cross. Many people take God's mercy for granted.

Why would landlord increase rent in the first place?
Go around some good locations or ask those living around, these boiz can pay anyhow, so these landlords increase rents anyhow... If you are not okay with it, they prefer you leave, so they can have these G-boys pay them well.
They don't care who comes into the house with them, what they do... It's all about the money
