There is a terrible veiled message here. Even those who buy cars - MERE cars to add to their existing fleet! - of more than N10m, are purporting to "support" the ailing guy by posting appeals on their social media accounts asking for donations from all and sundry. There is a mocking undertone that any self-respecting guy would immediately discern: make money at all costs - invest, invent, get lucky, defraud, peddle drugs, whatever! (but don't use violent means sha, if you ask me). Do anything ' socially acceptable' to make money, and spare yourself the shame of such nonsensical public opprobrium and drama. If one fool can buy a car of N70m to add to her fleet of cars, and yet can 'help' you her supposed "close friend" save your life by publicly soliciting crumb donations for your kidney transplant, then the message is clear: you are on your own. Make money anyhow you can (but don't kill or maim or traumatise your fellow man sha, anything else goes). It's a jungle out there, and people are determined to humiliate you. Idiots would spend millions on a meaningless night out or party or celebration, but would advertise your need for crumbs needed to survive, with pictures of you bedridden and pitifully begging for some money to live. And they are your so-called "friends". Joke. Prefer to die trying to make money anyhow you can than to be humiliated. |
We women are powerful beyond measure and stronger than we think. When women say these kinds of things, then it reinforces misogyny and gender inequality. Women are only "powerful beyond measure" and "stronger than they think" when they leverage on their BODY and exploit the desperate randiness of some very stupid, libidinous men. In this sense, women are only as "powerful" as men allow them to be. If you're forming pretty posh and sexy and one useless man overprices you when all he wants is your tired body and perhaps specious 'companionship', that's not power. You're a prostitute selling body/feminine charms like the next girl. Only more fortunate, that's all... If you're serious and want to make sense, say something like "people are more powerful and stronger than they think". Let your so-called inspirational words be gender-neutral and humanist, then we can take it seriously and take you and your success seriously. As long as you try to feminise your message and propagate this nonsensical mirage of 'girl power', those of us men who are wise and experienced would continue to see you as prostitutes. I can't tell you how many so-called Alhajas or 'big ladies' I know who hustle for contracts, business patronage, appointments, or job positions here and there by sucking big ogas' dicks in different offices and hotels, opening their flabby laps for all sorts of men, just to sustain their useless big-woman-ness, only to come out and try to "inspire" young girls to "work hard". Nigeria is a monstrous joke. There are 'rich' prostitutes in Banana Island and there are regular prostitutes hustling in Ojuelegba. The difference is luck, circumstances and packaging. Your area code or the car you drive doesn't wash away your ignominy, neither does the beauty/quality of the gift wrap increase the value or quality of the gift inside. After all the drama and nonsense your clothes are ripped apart and the same dank and helplessly ordinary meat nestles underneath. If you come out to lecture girls on how to be successful prostitutes, then that's perfectly fine. At least there will be no deception/hypocrisy. |
Redomi:When your own wahala come, na so others go "mind their business" while you wail and shed tears of blood and despair. Can I hear a loud amen from you? |
Lol. Wahala no dey finish for this life. And they can come very unexpectedly. Face am o, but may you experience a wahala-free 2017. Amii. |
bennaz:Then the likely culprits narrow down to neighbours around your house/street and visitors/artisans that have had access to your house. However, if your area is the type with plenty shops and such around where useless idiots (loafers) sit around/hang around to look around shamelessly, then you have many likely culprits on your hands. God knows how much I hate having all these annoying plenty corner shops and joints around where I live, with busybodies always sitting around staring at passersby like idiots and seeing when you go out and when you come in. |
bennaz:Sorry about that. Not the best way to start the new year. Meanwhile, have you been robbed in that house before? I mean confrontational armed robbery, not burglary as was the case yesterday. Then again, what kind of compound do you live in, what kind of neighbours do you have? A little profiling would help put things in context/perspective. |
queenitee:There's something called underemployment, or even misemployment... And it arguably depresses as much as (if not more than) unemployment. Life is not black and white. |
Nothing is as reassuring as an old bed, an old hand, or anything else that is comfortably familiar. People inherently seek the comforting blend of security and familiarity... in other words, people find incredible solace and peace in used-to-ness. That's the only explanation for this. Not surprised. |
dotman4real007:Don't be stupid. You people run your leaking mouths like buffoons because you don't understand depression and you have no ability to detach yourselves from your linear, narrow, meaningless life misadventure and empathise with another person's situation. You have no right to criticise another person for taking their own life. You're not in their shoes and you certainly don't feel life the same way they do. In any case, you don't like them more than they like themselves, so who the hell are you to call someone else stupid because they summoned enough courage to fatally harm themselves, end it all, and find eternal peace? She will rest in peace that's for sure. What's not so sure is whether you live in peace. "Life is a comedy to those who think, a tragedy to those who feel." - Horace Walpole |
These kinds of extremely sad events are reminiscent of horror fiction stories... Until one experiences them first hand. God forbid. Meanwhile, why do the mods prefer to ignore these kinds of threads and push nonsense (Bobrisky and other inanities) to the front page? |
These guys are too big to be making calls over regular cellular networks. They should use high end voip calls instead. The DSS can't intercept Whatsapp calls or BBM calls... Thats for sure. |
Lol. I miss my Bheer Hugz /Rhapsody... Arguably one of the most bubbly places to drink in Lagos. Lovely scenery and plenty to feed one's eyes with. Meanwhile when be the Abuja version na? Abuja people wey to dey form nonsense. Drop your empty airs at home and come out to turn up! Wayasayyy? |
Nonsense. I'm sure she knew his capacity before she bought him the so-called car. These kind of 'Blac Chyna' women can be annoying. You bought him a car because you knew he has money and can buy you much more than that. Who is deceiving who? Show me the hard working woman who bought a car for her struggling legediz boyfriend or husband to upgrade him out of love. Not these pretentious women who would gift ice to an Eskimo, to prove what exactly? |
Gay punk ass. |
You mean a Nigerian girl returned money you gifted to her? ? ? That's the kind of girl I certainly would like to know. She appears to have strong principles and knows what she wants, which is remarkable for a girl of her age. Ogbeni stop disturbing her and go and find your mate to play with. |
Nutase:I tell you. It's beyond shameful. So the ladies and their families were left to their fate to sort themselves out, without the police doing a thing. Shows you that we're truly on our own in this country, we can only pray that trouble doesn't find us. Mods, this should be on the front page. |
Oildichotomy:Don't mind the fools. That's why I don't take them seriously. Idiots who manipulate account books, inflate prices and orchestrate all kinds of ugly illicit schemes in their offices or businesses would come here and make noise about corrupt politicians or yahoo boys or whatever. It's just extremely annoying. |
Good news, but our prayers are with the other victims yet to be released... Francis Edegware, father of member of the National Youth Service Corps, Grace Oghene Edegware, who was abducted by suspected Fulani herdsmen, has confirmed that he paid N200,000 ransom to secure her freedom.http://punchng.com/kidnapped-corper-i-paid-n200000-for-my-daughters-release-father/ |
This promises to be very interesting. Meanwhile, the idea that Fayose can bribe Adeboye is ludicrous. I'm sure that the RCCG's quarterly 'revenues' exceed the annual federal allocation to Ekiti State. Adeboye has access to far more cash than Fayose, so it's an outright insult to insinuate a possible case of bribery here. |
aikfrank:Can I customise the virtual card with a randomly generated US identity including name and US address most importantly? Cos often one is required to put in a US address when paying for services on some sites. I don't want any association with Nigeria on that card. Is this possible? |
Oyinbo nogo kill person one day. |
If people still troop to this fraudster's church and happily hand over their hard earned money to him as offering and tithes, then..... |
And so it came to be that people's beloved daughters and sisters are spending Christmas in an unknown bush, at the mercy of heartless beasts. This makes me really sad. Why haven't we heard anything about rescue efforts and so forth? I can only pray that they survive this ordeal in one piece and recover from the trauma of the experience. |
7agaza:And of course most of us have experienced this painful situation. Nigeria is not really ready for a full blast cashless system because of too much inefficiency and error-proneness in the system. Why should I be compelled to bear the attendant pain and inconvenience? The other guy trying to defend the CBN and talking about mobile money is too academic and idealistic in his reasoning. The bottom line is that people must be able to access their cash at any given time because they are entitled to it. Any artificially induced liquidity squeeze is indicative of economic failure and that lends credence to the growing concerns about the havoc Buhari and his incompetent team have done and are doing to our economy. |
This is beyond sad. For these young women to be at the mercy of blood thirsty and ruthless animals called Fulani herdsmen deep in one bush for several days is more than a nightmare. We can only pretend not to imagine what might be going on there and the extreme trauma they would be facing. Meanwhile, why is it so difficult to locate the exact location of the kidnappers using the phone signal information? If it's a useless case of some bloggers writing against the 'almighty' Femi Otedola, our extremely corrupt and hopeless police force would "swing' into action and use the latest technology to track the culprits. Now we are talking about human lives and a real case of violent criminality, yet nobody in the police is interested in swinging into action. |
Itzcaleb:Nigerians can be very docile. We should all take this matter up and ensure that this nonsense ends once and for all. What is the meaning of SARS? Is it not Special Anti ROBBERY Squad? What has 'Yahoo Yahoo' got to do with robbery? Why should SARS be interested in who is a yahoo boy or not, when their mandate is to go after ARMED ROBBERS? Should that not be the business of Special Fraud Unit (SFU) and the EFCC in particular? Yet the senseless IGP and top police echelon would pretend as if they don't know what is going on and allow this madness continue. It's a big shame. |
See him face like person wey just cum. |
SWORD419:So what exactly is your point? |
This is too bad. The mods should move this to the front page so that it would he given more publicity and so that we can get more information about how the event occurred. This will help the relevant authorities do the needful and rescue the victims as soon as possible. |
Unlimited22:Oh really. Didn't know. What's the name of that short one that looks like a crackhead midget? |
Elchappo:Who is this leprous animal? Which dirty old witch gave birth to this useless thing? You don't deserve to coexist with normal human beings. |
