Awesome stuff... Put someone like David Oyedepo as president and you may hear news like 800 hospitals in one day or 800 factories in one day or 800 schools in one day... Some individuals are extremely visionary in drive. However it becomes a disaster when all of a society's visionaries are located in the corporate sector or in churches, while the public sector is left for miscreants and societal misfits. |
5000 CHURCHES IN 2019: Oyedepo’s Winners’ Chapel plants 848 Churches in one day. Leke Beecroft Bishop Oyedepo led Living Faith Church (LFC) aka Winners’ Chapel last Sunday 7th April 2019 established 848 new rural churches. This is as part of the plans of the Church to establish 5000 churches in 2019. The total attendance recorded last Sunday was 13,000 while more churches will be established today Sunday 14th 2019. The Church had earlier announced her plan to establish 5000 rural churches while she had acquired landed property worth over N350million ($1 million) for that purpose. Winners’ Chapel has experienced Church growth consistently over the last 30 years however since 2009 when she embarked on aggressive Church plants, she had grown from 700 churches to 5,600 (excluding Lagos) in 2013. While the Redeemed Christian Church of God plants churches every 5 minutes walk in the developing world and 3 minutes drive distance in the developed world, in 2012 the Mandate which is the operational manual or constitution of the LFC included a clause that a branch of the LFC will be established every 2 kilometers worldwide. Delta State of Nigeria alone recorded 505 churches as at 2015. The Church which runs the best private university in Africa also intends to establish a total of at least 7 universities, 140 secondary schools and 1,500 nursery and primary schools by 2031 as part of her goal to help develop the developing world. https://www.facebook.com/444807728996437/posts/1635424193268112/ |
I think the governor is desperately looking for something to commission. And this structure wouldn't cost more than 400-700 k to put up. Lalasticlala |
It's amazing and commendable. But can you explain to me briefly why you described it as ultra modern? |

miketayo:Lol vow of poverty... |
Kendumazy:Yeah he did. But when he learnt he had won in the court he changed his mind about returning the church properties and name to Winners Nigeria. Till now he hasn't returned either. Though he still insist that Winners Ghana didn't break away but it simply gained 'independence' from the Nigerian church |
The investment on infrastructure in the north surpasses that of the south. When would unoport get a senate building like this? |
daddytime:Bishop is smart and politically conscious. He knows if he puts a total stranger there hijacking is a probable event... When addjeman saw $60,000 monthly income way back in 2003 in Accra Ghana, he severed communication with the Nigerian church and hijacked the Ghanian branch when the Nigerian church refused Adjeman's demand for financial independence. Now imagine branches in New York, London, UAE, Pretoria, Texas, Toronto etc and the wealth they control plus their various national political intricasies. Those sort of branches can lead a minister astray because you may start to wonder why you are serving a man in a third world country and have to remit most of those plenty money to Nigeria.. Temptation becomes worse when you realise your anointing is growing the local church and certain members encourage you on. In the case of adjeman there were winners members in Accra that encouraged him to take the fight to Oyedepo. winterfell007:There is no such thing as God's own state on matters of the Gospel. Redemption is an individual choice no one can make on your behalf not even the state. By the way 30% of Americans are even Atheists. Winners exist in Congo, Liberia, Maiduguri and quite a number of tough places. The eventual goal I believe is every nation including Libya and Afghanistan but obviously many islamic nations are resistant to establishing churches so the church has to go to places it is permitted to go first... |
The winners chapel Texas facility dubbed 'The Liberation Center' which amounts to several acres of land in the heart of Arlington, Texas was commissioned in 2017 by Bishop Oyedepo. Merely looking at the video, the property is clearly about the size of Ikeja City Mall. That means the property should be between 5 - 8 hectares of land. According to Church website the current resident pastor of the church's branch is Stephen Ogah, Bishop Oyedepo's former Personal Assistant and Son in law. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcpkxLXgYwk |
Jim Ovia walks the talk... @Covenant university received over $270,000 from Jim Ovia foundation to train 7 Nigerian students and three foreigners(Africans not from Nigeria) throughout their academic study in 2018! He funded another 10 in Asheshi university Ghana. God bless Ovia |

The problem is that UI's monthly wage bill of about 1.1 billion naira is entirely paid by FG just like other federal institutions. So once salaries come in from the university account most staff don't care how it came by but just wait for the next cycle.. Trouble only begin when the university is unable to pay salary as a result of shortfall from FG which happens once in a blue moon. The question of how IGR is being spent must be thoroughly scrutinised. Most FG institutions make over a 100 million naira a month from campus businesses not to talk of fees that emanate from students. I'm glad people are finally asking these questions. |

Yes o. We churn out tech gurus for Covenant o ![]() |
Bilyonaire:1) well my initial opinion about oyedepo was based on the slapping incidence some years ago. But my visit to CU made me understand that oyedepo is very principled for an individual... 2)The other opinion was that his ministry was too much about money. I found this not to be true. The ministry takes just one offering per service. The wealth of the Church has been a product of good management not extortion 3). I only lived in canaanland during the duration of my academic stay in CU. Once I graduated from CU there was no need to continue staying in canaanland. |
Where is Pa Adeboye... |
WetinUGain:Please what is BBS in Babcock university? |
Oh my! What is wrong with us Christians.... When it comes to pastors and apostles, there's a thin line between admiration and worship that must never be crossed in God's kingdom. No man no matter how highly placed in this faith can be put on the same pedestal with God... When you start kneeling at the grave of someone then you have gone too far... Jesus alone is our High priest. And He is enough to convey our prayers to God the father.. |
amaniro:I think that request was made during Professor Julius Okogie's time as NUC's head under Goodluck's administration. Okogie and Okebukola who headed NUC during Gej and Obj era respectively liked the living faith education model... However bishop's recent political alignment with opposition parties will certainly discourage NUC's current leadership from being overtly supportive. |
germanized:Pls how much is the cost of buying a flat in the Lagos own... |
That has been pretty clear for some decades ago |
IFEOLUWAKRIZ:Lol I can understand why he would think you are me. Many people here think I am a PR manager for David Oyedepo ministries... |
Lalasticlala |
Its because the foundational members where mostly yorubas. |
luminouz:That is what it sounded like to me jare... |
You won't hear this on CNN, those ones are busy looking for every means to destroy Trump. |
amaniro:Private sector is key, especially in countries that are as populous like Nigeria in which govt can't adequately provide for all services. You can't compare the delivery of NTA to Channels Nitel to MTN Kaduna refinery to Dangote refinery FIIRO, Oshodi to IITA, Ibadan The only problem with private sector is that it comes with the baggage of inequality and inaccessibility. While the public sector is mismanaged by leaders produced by a quota system. When you realise that our president is not qualified to be a gateman at most Nigerian banks you begin to get the significance of the problem. People claim goodluck was not good but he implemented tetfund, paid first tranche of needs assessment, initiated pressid(which was cancelled because of southern domination of the list). How can such a country's public sector grow? |
forgiveness:She said northern Nigeria not north Africa. Of course libya, Egypt are major oil exporters. But just forget oil in northern Nigeria. If you find it won't be significant enough for commercial purposes. |
amaniro:I read an interview where the VC of UI admitted that covenant was very strategic and a potential pain in the ass for UI... While CU still needs to improve in many other areas especially student experience and religious moderation, the future is very much bright...

Nigeria must get recycling right. While we are definitely not the biggest polluters we significantly harm ourselves with our waste. Recycling is a win - win. Better environment and revenue... Lalasticlala FP pls |
