Well, the smallest syllable in the Bible is worthier than anything you have to say.

Here's the real last, the last book of the Bible, saying otherwise:

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and THE ABOMINABLE, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Revelation:21:8

REPENT.

Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Kumuyi: Women Who Wear Men’s Clothes Are An Abomination Unto God by HigherEd:
Well, it isn't religion that should determine what a man, woman wears or not. In Scotland men wear skirts, In certain parts of Nigeria men also wear wrappers, biblical Jews wear robes. Let everyone wear whatever their cultures allow... Messages of the church on dressing should end at decency.

I know this sermon reference regards women wearing trousers and I completely disagree that trousers are men wears. There are certain trousers men can't even wear... Can a man wear leggings or bumshort? By the way trousers is not even an invention of the Church therefore we can't determine who can wear it or not.

Probably the bible reference was even referring to cross dressers like bobrisky and denrele who intentionally identify with the opposite sex, not the average woman you see wearing jean trousers.

Believers of today should focus on preaching Jesus and unveiling his grace not showing people how unworthy they are. If you like fulfill the law in entirety if you don't have Jesus hell is your case.

Lastly, nobody is an abomination unto God, we've been saved by grace and by the precious blood of Jesus. It is His blood that qualifies us not our futile deeds. Thank you.

Chukwuka16:
Again,

I always laugh when I see posts like these.

Can the OP kindly browse Researchgate and Google Scholar just to highlight the RG score and h/I-index of leading scholars across UI, UNN and CU/Lautech. I believe the difference will be clearly seen.

The quality of outputs from the federal universities and some state universities is miles ahead of private universities.

Matter of fact, academics from these mainline universities output excellent papers in very top rated journals from Lancet (those UCH guys) to Science to Nature (collaborations) and the normal elsevier versions (typical IF around 4-10) without much fuss.

It's great to celebrate small successes but let's not over hype something that isn't really quality. Scopus in 2019? Let's do better.
Now you are no longer talking like an academic. Researchgate is a compilation of research work done since a university was founded. The oldest private university in Nigeria was founded in 1999. The oldest public was founded in 1945. How would you actually compare the two systems and think public universities wouldn't rank higher?

Regarding academics it is still a matter of normalization. 32 departments in CU producing 3 high rated academics is equal to 100 departments in UI producing 10 high rated academics. What about the fact that certain fields are more funded and researched than the other? UI with medical offerings would definitely produce more cited research papers.

Only an expert consultant can give you a full proof assessment of universities. And Times higher is one of such organizations. And from its verdict CU is more research relevant than UI and UNN.

In essence they are very strict with students i right?
Yes they are strict but that isn't why they have issues with poor grades. They just have a crop of students that are very rebellious. They once poured garbage on this VC lol.

CU noticed at some point that students above 21 at admission were difficult to curtail so they kind of stopped admitting them. Focusing more on students between the ages of 14 -20 for undergrad. For CU the younger the better!

Unfortunately other church schools apart from CU and BU don't have the luxury to pick and choose students. So they mostly have to settle with whoever applies and that comes with a lot of baggage.

Most private universities are grade buying universities. But it seems this VC wants to make ACU an exception. This is calling a spade what it is.
There is more academic integrity in the average private university than the average state uni.

Now there is more academic integrity in all faith based universities than all federal and state universities in Nigeria. Schools like Bowen, Covenant, Al hikmah, etc

Academic integrity goes in the following ways
1) Never Inflate grades of students
2) Never Deflate grades of students
3) Never receive sex or money for awarding marks

And when you go down to it public schools are the biggest offenders...
Christianity Etc › How Christians Can Deal With Demonic Manifestations - Kenneth Hagin by HigherEd(op): 9:26am On Mar 31, 2019
Hagin, one of the most prominent evangelist to walk the earth answers questions about demonic operations.

Can demons manifest themselves in the
physical realm?

Answer: Yes, although we have the authority to stop
those supernatural manifestations.
When Dr. Lester Sumrall was building a church in the
Philippines in the 1950s, he heard on the radio about a girl who would fight with something nobody could see, though people could see toothmarks and saliva on her. She had to be confined in a jail cell.
Doctors and psychiatrists examining her asked her
what had been biting her. She said, "There are two hairy-looking monsters. One is big and the other is small, and they attack me." They were demons manifesting themselves in the physical realm. Of course, she was not a Christian.

Dr. Sumrall got permission to see her. When he first
entered the jail cell, the devil supernaturally spoke through her in English, "I don't like you." The devil cursed him, cursed God, cursed Jesus, and cursed the blood.

After Dr. Sumrall got the girl delivered, she couldn't
speak a word of English. He had to communicate with her through an interpreter.
The devil had spoken out of her mouth supernaturally.
Those toothmarks were real. That wasn't the girl talking in English, saying, "I don't like you." It was the devil. So the devil can do some supernatural things. But, thank God, we do have authority over him.

Question: Can a demon affect the atmosphere of an
entire church?

Answer: Yes, a demon can hold a church in bondage.
A certain church where I held a meeting was a very
difficult place to preach. The people were good people.
They loved the Lord. They loved my preaching. But it was tough to preach there. The very atmosphere was hard.

Everything I said seemed to bounce off the wall back intomy face.
Some months later I returned to the area to preach a
revival at another church. I also went back to this first
church and spent some time with the pastor and his family.
I spoke at a New Year's Eve watch night service for them. The next day, the pastor's wife asked, "Brother Hagin, can you see any difference in our church?"
I said, "What do you mean?"
She said, "Is it any easier to preach here? What about
the pulpit now?"

I said, "There's as much difference as between daylight
and dark. It doesn't seem like the same pulpit. It doesn't seem like the same church."
She said, "Get my husband to tell you about it."
The pastor said, "I don't usually tell people about it
because they might think I am crazy." The spiritual world ought to be as real to us as water
is to a fish. Yet, many in the church think a person is a
fanatic if he touches that world. "I won't tell everybody," the pastor said, "but I will
tell you. I got so concerned. This was the hardest church I ever preached in. The pulpit seemed to hold me in bondage. I knew the people loved me. They supported me well.

We had good fellowship with them in their homes.
But that pulpit was like a prison.
"I began to fast and pray about it. The seventh day
of my fast, I was kneeling on the platform about three feet behind the pulpit when I happened to look directly
overhead. The ceiling disappeared."

(Discerning of spirits had come into manifestation. God allowed this pastor to see into the spirit realm. He saw, sitting up in the rafters directly above the pulpit, a huge spirit. It looked like a big baboon. It was as large as a man.

The pastor said, "I found myself saying to him, 'You're
going to have to come down.' The spirit said nothing, but seemed to draw up as if he didn't want to obey. I said, 'You come down in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.'

"He fell down onto the pulpit, then jumped to the floor.
I said to him, 'You get out of here!' He said nothing, but
looked at me as if to say, 'I don't want to.' I said, 'Just
march right out of here, in the Name of Jesus.' He marched down off the platform. I marched right behind him. Hewould go four or five steps, then stop and look at me, almost begging. I would say, 'No, go on.' But he wouldn't move until I said, 'In the Name of Jesus.'

"We went down the aisle that way, stopping every four
or five steps. I went ahead of him and held the vestibule doors open. (The spirit could have gone through the doors, of course, but this is what the pastor did.) That thing would not go through until I said, 'In the Name of Jesus.'

"Then I opened the front door. I stepped back and said,
'Move on out.' He stood there. He never said a word, but I could tell by the expression on his face, he was begging to stay. I said, 'In the Name of Jesus,' and he moved. "He went down the church steps and got halfway out into the yard. Then he stopped, turned around, and looked at me again. I said, 'No, you don't. You go on in the Name of Jesus.'

"He went as far as the curb. I said, 'You'll have to go
on. And don't ever come on these premises again.' He
stood there until I said, 'In the Name of Jesus.' Then he
ran across the street and down the other side about a
quarter of a mile. I watched him run into a nightclub. The next night it burned down. "Ever since, it has been easy to preach here. The people have noticed. They have asked, 'What happened?' But I didn't tell them."

Question: Have you ever cast out demons that were
manifesting in someone's home?

Answer: Yes, I was holding a meeting for a pastor and
his wife almost 20 years ago, and they invited me to their home. Both of them were ministers of the Gospel.
As we were sitting there talking, the wife said,
"Brother Hagin, I don't know how to say this to you, but
this house we're living in has manifestations of evil
spirits."

I don't know why she didn't do something about it.
She had the authority. She just didn't know it.
The pastor (he was one of the top men in his Full Gospel denomination) would hear the evil spirits go through the house and knock things over. His wife said, "I've actually spoken to one and it's spoken back to me. I've told it to go and it didn't." I said, "I'll take care of that for you."
"Will you?" they asked. "We've thought about
moving.'' "No," I said. "I'll take care of it. You won't ever see or hear these manifestations again in the Name of Jesus."

Just sitting there at the table, speaking in an ordinary
conversational tone, I said, "In the Name of Jesus I command every evil spirit to leave, and all demonic activity in this home to cease." I told the couple, "Now it's gone; you'll never hear or see those demons again."

They told me last year — 19 years later — there was
never another manifestation of that power. The pastor told me he almost had been embarrassed when his wife had brought the subject up.
But I'm not embarrassed to know the devil and demons
are real, are you? They were real in Bible times, and they're just as real now as then. I'm not afraid of them. And you ought not to be — not if you're a Christian, that is.

Question: Can you give an example of how God uses
spiritual gifts to warn us concerning the devil's tactics?

Answer: Yes. I was holding a meeting in East Texas
in the 1950s toward the close of the Korean War. One
night I had something in my spirit. I knew God was
speaking to a young man.
I said, "Young man, I see right out in front of you —
it's only a step out in front of you — a black wall." (I could see, in the Spirit, a black wall.) I told him, "And once you step into it, you're gone. I don't know what it is — but it's something right out in front of you. I do know this much. If you'll come to this altar and give your heart to Jesus, you'll be saved and never go into that darkness."

That young man didn't come. The pastor even talked to
him, but he wouldn't come. The next week, while holding a meeting about 100 miles away, I got a letter from the pastor. He said, "Brother Hagin, I thought you'd be interested in knowing this. The young man whom you said was going into darkness went out and got drunk. He thought he was going home, but he went into the wrong house. He began slamming, hammering and knocking on the door. He tore the screen door off and kicked the door in.

"The man of the house didn't know who was there. He
unloaded both barrels of a shotgun right in the boy's face." This pastor said, "I went to the hospital and the boy was still alive. The doctors didn't understand how he had lived, and they knew he wouldn't live long.
"I talked to him and told him who I was. You couldn't
look at him, it was so pitiful. But somewhere down in his throat, I heard these words come out of him: 'Oh, why didn't I listen! Why, oh why, didn't I listen?

I couldn't see this darkness out in front of me, but I could feel it. If I had listened to God, I wouldn't have been drunk. If i had listened to God, I wouldn't have been out there And then he lapsed off and never did say anything else."
The poor fellow went out into eternity. Was it God's
fault? No! God tried to get him to stop. God did His best to arrest his attention. But he didn't listen. He had the power to listen. Why didn't God overrule him? Because God doesn't work that way...

Even with the Op’s lies/semi-illiteracy, whichever the case is, covenant cannot even come within a mile of UI’s reach.

Covenant was founded in 2002 and by 2017, had recorded about 550 pubs (according to the Op).

That’s an average of about 36 pubs annually.

However, the Op posits that the output from covenant hit 1100 by 2018 making the output for the period 2017-2018 at least equal to the cumulative output of the school from its inception in 2002 to 2017!

I probably don’t have a good understanding about these things but these figures look heavily skewed.
Nothing skewed, the data is on Scopus platform for all to see. CU is increasing her funding at a very high rate.

Due to lack of actual research these fake professors of Political Science, Chemistry and Engineering in Lautech and CU are cutting and pasting information on research output to a fake journal. What is the relevance to their areas of expertise? Nada! Waste of time and money conducting data collection on Scopus

You want to assess research output and you are using only one database -Scopus? What happened to other databases such as Web of Science, PUBMED, Academia, Frontier, Loop, etc)?

You can guess that the OP is one of the authors of this fake publication.
Everything the researchers wrote about are readily accessible on Scopus itself. Scopus and web of science are the most cited indexing platforms.

Education › Ajayi Crowther University VC Blast Parents And Students In Open Letter by HigherEd(op): 6:44am On Mar 31, 2019
Dear Parents,

Greetings. It is not likely that I will post any mesg on your platform after this.
I must express my shock at the behavior of some parents and their messages against the VC and the University in recent times.

It is not common for VCs to exchange words with parents or students over matters of University rules, discipline and morals. I’m not sure you individual parents interacted with your VCs where you studied. My simplicity and availability has been abused and that has to be withdrawn forthwith.

You sent your children to Ajayi Crowther University believing that they will get good education and sound morals. The discipline here is no where near that of some sister Christian Universities which are over subscribed. The developments going on here academically, spiritually and infrastructure-wise has been much improved and works are ongoing to make things better. Students ought to have some endurance and not be spoilt with claims and rights that shouldn’t be fought over.

*What happened recently?*

1. ACU would have resumed for second semester on 25th Feb. Due to the shift in date of elections, we changed resumption to 16th March (more than two weeks) yet many students resumed many days after the deadline! And you want us to tolerate that? Parents who habour students when they ought to be in school are themselves not disciplined. You can’t raise next generation with the same corrupt and indisciplined ethos that has ruined Nigeria. We eventually allowed all late comers in after keeping them waiting outside gate for few hours as punishment for them to learn how to obey rules of punctuality. Parents who disobey rules and set bad examples do not expect red carpet treatment just because they paid fees for their children’s education.

2. A student committed sexual immorality and confessed in writing to have had sex with two female students in classroom and was placed on suspension pending trial yet the Parents proceeded to sue the University and post insults against the University, forgetting that we have rules and that the two girls also have parents who have been hurt, and innocent students who might be badly influenced.

3. You complain about light, water, etc. We put on generator for students between 6-8am, 10-1pm and 6-10pm daily in addition to when PHCN gives power supply. We spend N3.7m monthly on PHCN bill and buy 20,000 liters of diesel monthly to run ten generators, totaling about 8million Naira per month yet the University does not receive one kobo in subventions from the proprietor, Anglican Church. We forget that even in our homes do we always have light?

4. Do you know that the hostels, except one, do not belong to the University and that we remit the rent to the owners who do not maintain the facilities? We spend our own money to carry out repairs in hostels that do not belong to us. In this last semester we have spent about 5 million Naira to repair facilities including providing alternative water system, purchase 185 fans, sockets, toilets, nets, etc.

5. You parents decided that we should compel your children to observe daily library hours, which is one reason students are complaining. Be it known that in a three floor library in which we have invested over 30 Million Naira in recent accreditation exercise, you will hardly find five students reading there. They are all busy with their phones: browsing rubbish. They don’t read except a few serious ones who end up with good grades. Many end up in third class. Some hardly attend classes for up to a week yet they turn up for exams and are disallowed. They think that once they paid fees, they are entitled to be passed.Bad homes produce bad student

6. Recently Deans reported that less than 10 students were found in their respective faculties during a period when more than 1,600 students should be in class. Your children are mostly unserious. They want to play around with opposite sex unchecked, they want to go to town to smoke hemp or prostitute. But we gated them and as a result the University is now well rebranded.

6. We decided to lock hostels during lecture periods in order to force them to go to class or library. But you parents protested asking for "freedom" that will eventually destroy the moral and academic lives of these children. You same parents who have your children elsewhere obey the more stringent rules at Covenant and Babcock Universities, etc and you want Anglican Church’s University to tolerate trash!
Based on your protest we have after one day’s trial, reopened the hostels at all hours and released your children to choose whether to study or sleep in hostel when they should be in classes. They now have freedom to choose whether to fail or pass. We shall henceforth not treat them, in your words, like "Secondary school students". Some of you will bear the consequences of your indiscretion. But we will not allow anyone teach us how to run our system.

7. Parents who find it difficult to abide by our rules and regulations are kindly advised to withdraw their children. We are not desperate to keep any student here. We will sanction hemp and drug users, those who bully others and want to behave like cultists and sexual perverts. Those who can’t train their children well will not be allowed to corrupt other children here

8. May I advise that no parent should call me on phone on any matter concerning students henceforth. The Dean of students will attend to the public on complaints.
I wish you all the best and may you and your children do that which is right in the sight of God and for the future good of the coming generations. Amen.

Just do the CU treatment and collect their phones, they will cry but their attention to academics would increase. When you block all these distractions you see an improvement in academic performance.

Truth is some of these children in universities forming adults are spoilt brats that need to be mentored. They would destroy their lives and that of others if not properly mentored.

Unilorin, CU, Babcock and Al hikmah are leading lights in this regard.

Important point!
But applied research which you are referring to cost billions of naira. The US govt spends about N800 Billion on John Hopkins University's medical research alone. JHU anchors much of America's Medical research aspirations.

The US spends about 400 billion on Georgia Inst Of Tech.GIT anchors America's defense technology aspirations. And it goes on and on like that.

Summary of it all is that if you want cutting edge research the govt has to spend. But considering that the likes of Harvard, Stanford all use Scopus then its a good indication of where the strengths of our universities lie.
