Christianity EtcWhat Bible Passage Do You Love Most by highmood(op): 11:53pm On Feb 06, 2016
Friends, though the holy bible is vast, but I believe there are some passages that makes you think deep and probably acknowledge the unseen God. If you agree with me, can we share just one of those passages and maybe say what inspires us about that passage.
For me, I love 2 kings 13:21 " one day some men were burying a man when they spotted a raiding party. So they threw the dead man into Elisha's tomb. When the body touched Elisha's bones, the dead man came to life and stood on his feet" .
This is one of my favorite bible passage, each time I read this, I think to myself, if the bone of a dead prophet could bring a dead man to life, what then should be said of the entire holy bible or the specific word of God through his prophets? Please kindly share yours, I just think it's a quick way of getting prayer points.

Apart from those questions for Airtel to answer, I think the lady should go to the bank and trace the account in which the money was transferred into. Technology, Technology, its good but have its shortcomings. Many people will lose so much money from this mobile money thing.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: How I Messed Up Job Interview Today... Please Learn! by highmood(m): 10:18pm On Feb 05, 2016
jayhumble:
I got a call from one of the telecom companies yesterday afternoon regarding an application I put in as far back as November last year. Anyway... Fast-forward to the interview. I woke up very early and prayed, cleanup and get set. Tho I'm a self employed software developer but who wouldn't want to work with a big telecom company or any government offer? I applied for Web Developer position and when I got there... I met about 5 other applicants; it took forever for the GM to show up since the HR teams said they can't proceed with interview without the authority of the GM. Since 8:30am when I got there... The GM didn't show up until 12:15pm...Well, I still didn't mind cuz I was enjoying the AC and free WiFi. All thanks to the front desk lady who gave me the WiFi password cool cheesy I was already crushing on the bae and hoping to y'knw get close once I get employed haha wink.... OK... Fast forward to GM arrival.
The GM checked the list of invitees and gave the HR greenlight to interview us. We were given a very technical online timed test and somehow it was just 2 out of 6 of us that made it to the interview stage cuz after the test, they told me and one other dude to wait behind while they told the other guys that they appreciate their interest blah blah blah we will call u talks (discharging them)
The HR team interviewed the last 2 standing and we both made it past the interview stage and then we were taken to the GM's office for final stage.

GM: Oh just two of you made it here...

Me & Guy: Yes sir

GM: Ok so do you have any past projects done by You? I want to see your past works on Web Development.

Guy: I didn't come along with my flash drive sir, I was hoping we would have our competency tested on company's system.

Me:.... Silent as I watch guy trying to bail himself out of the rope thrown to his neck!

GM: Oh you are not serious... You mean you never have a thought of coming along with you past projects? You wanted to convince us verbally? Oh no we don't work like that here... Go get your past project and come back next time.

(that leaves me as the last man standing meanwhile I have turned on my laptop and started digging out all the websites I built for people and all Web application jobs I ve done in the past from Java to php to ASP. Net and html css)

GM: Young man I see you are all set to present your competency. Let me see what you have to offer

Me: moved closer to his desk and showed him my works and he was quiet impressed. He called someone from the software support department to come and check me out and the dude asked me alot of questions you wouldn't know if you are not used to Web applications development just to know if I am truly who I say I am.

GM: Ok we have an on going project and I'll be glad if you can assist the software support department in executing the project cuz we don't have time.

Me: It'll be my honor sir. I have always have passion for software development and it would be a plus to exhibit my capability for this company

GM: so I'm sure you want big money for salary now

Me: I care more about skills and experience sir. Money will come anyway

GM: (he became very free and less official) We actually need 2 people but with your works so far I'm sure you can do both jobs cuz we need graphic designer and Web Developer and most of your websites comes with photoshopped graphic designs with the slides. I hope the owner of those jobs paid you well. You must be a big man ooo

Me: (Felt comfortable and lose guard my official mode thinking we were just gisting). Most of those clients don't pay me good, I didn't enjoy working for them

(Na so the man change everything for me and everything went 360 in a blink of an eye)

GM: Haha so that's how you will say someday that our company don't pay good and u don't enjoy working for us...

(Well, the rest is history...) he already had the Secretary preparing my employment papers so I can start on Monday but he halted everything and called the HR department in front of me informing them to source for a new Web Developer. The rest is history...

Lesson : Regardless how excited or confident you feel during a job interview, Do NOT EVER EVER tarnish your past employers or clients even if they made you go thru hell, just lie that you enjoyed them and wish you were still there....

Well I came back home in A very depressed mood and I thought I should help a potentially vulnerable person not to make such mistake.

I hope I feel a bit better after pouring my heart out.
Guy I think I had almost same experience. I was the last man standing in an interview that involves Complex Data Processing using Advanced Excel. But for the fact I was over social(my thought though) with some members of staff when I am yet to be to be officially accepted, the MD saw me and with few questions, mehn, "na say gobe". So never be over social and never be too mean. Don't loose guard. Just know when to exhibit your social behaviors,

LAGOS

City of many nations
Ogling at the gulf
Lying halcyon on a sandy plain
Playing with the ocean breeze
The rocks and the mountains are far from its sui generis
The springs, the valleys are lost from its locus

City overgrown by bricks
Centre of amazement and caprices
From the suffering smiling lively shanties
To those beautiful mean boring villas
An allure when exquisites are far
Beauty when beast are close

City with a difference
Convergence of ethnicities
Voices of traditions telling tales of cultures
Feeble and strong beating the colors of their drums
Even under the strength the angry sun emits,
The stiffened moon the warm cross embrace

City faster than a bullet train
Morning and evening like bees they flock
Ire sweaty severe faces clashing
Beauty easy gentle smiles exchanging
Singing, dancing, laughing, weeping
Yet on a pushing cart, "life goes on"

City for the brave
City for the wise
On its streets volumes speaks
Pictures on every banner reads
We Make men, we love clods
Because "eko oni baje"

We dnt kill neither do we eat such python snake. No matter how mature it is. I have slept in my aunt house in the village when we saw a large python snake coiled beside a cold container in one of the rooms. She just hit it with a stick and it left gently. Even one of my late aunts use to make it coil round her arms as she throws it into the bush. But, I can't stand the sight even rat.

You didn't do anything wrong by trying to help it just lack of understanding. But then you would have presented it to the lady and ask her to show the father. Another thing is that, I dnt know how costly is the perfume. All the same, its good as you intentionally resigned but you wouldn't have lied to him that you got somewhere else. You would have told him the reason and then stop coming, it will prick his imagination and that of his wife.

embarassed this is avoidable oh! Unfortunately they won't listen. I use this medium to call on the state govt to please construct a pedestrian bridge across oshodi-Apapa beside Julius Berger yard at Mile-2 for those coming out or going into Ajeromi Ifelodun through Otto wharf. The absence of pedestrian bridge there has led to the death of so many people especially youths. Please. May the dead man rest in peace.

So sad. If not for the neglect of the South East by successive governments, that area would have had a good road. And Fire Service would have gotten there on time to salvage as much properties as they could.
we must not blame govt for everything. In as much as we understand our govt in all levels, we must be proactive in making the right decision while waiting for them to fix things well. The school should have had some fire extinguishers that would have made the situation less severe. If many organizations had waited for our govt, them so many more billion naira and properties worth billions would be lost daily.

For the case of the oshodi demolition, I think the location of that market is not ideal. But telling me the destruction of people livelihood is justified, I think someone must be high on something. For Ladipo Main market, I think there is a controversy and a hidden truth. I am not against change but when change is beyond the reach of an average man, then suffering is been compounded. A clear example is that of tejuosho shopping complex, where the building is now by itself.

My brother, I am a strong supporter of Jonathan simplicity but for this case of misappropriation of fund, President Jonathan must speak out. It is shameful! My thought though is that President Goodluck Jonathan have noticed the massive looting going on behind him(within his administration) and could no longer condone it, so he decided to concede defeat to pave way for a fearless president. President Goodluck must tell us what he knows. Even if his intelligence was played upon, we need his own side of the story. It's disheartening.

It's so amazing how the arms deal saga has involved so many politicians at the tail end of the last administration; No one is talking about the missing $10billion oil money. Was it that the $10billion was just a false alarm and a tool for the opposition to win the election? Though Emefiele need to answer some questions but I think he must have carried out an order.

if you sau Jesus is God does he sleeps? if yes it mean ur God sleep n He guide isreal neva sleep nor slumber.
Think about it.
are u confused abt the story of Jesus. The bible says he takes the form of man in order to save humanity. So if he takes that form what do you expect. He shouldn't sleep? God is a spirit, but if a spirit stays in the same room with you, how do you attempt to communicate and understand him? From the old testament, the bible clearly talked about his coming. Don't you wonder in the book of Genesis who God was referring to when he said "Let us make man in our own image..." So Jesus is both a prophet because John the Baptist said someone greater than him is coming whose ropes of his sandals he is unworthy to lace and also a son of God because he did what God wanted him to do. He is God because Mary suddenly was pregnant without any form of intercourse and so on

FamilyRe: The Travails Of Marrying Late by highmood(m): 8:51am On Dec 23, 2015
a2space:
I am a 37 year old bachelor and I must confess that never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that someday I would be desperate to get married. When I was in my twenties, I used to hear of desperation amongst ladies to get married but I never clearly understood the feeling. I felt it was a "lady thing" until I got to the age of 34yrs. One day I was in my bedroom suddenly I felt the rush of emotions come upon me so strongly that all of a sudden started making me feel desperate for marriage. By the following year the desperate feeling became like torture and the loneliness was so depressing. I could no longer stand it when I attended weddings to see other young couples getting married. I could no longer stand it when I hear people discussing marriage around me.

I became like an object of fun in the office when they would call me "the oldest bachelor". I'm telling you, the feeling is not funny at all. Even when people innocently ask "Hey, why are you not yet married?" or "what are u waiting for?" It's a question that I just can't take emotionally. Though I'm doing my best to tie the knot soon but I must confess that it is a feeling that I don't even wish my enemies to have.

If me as a guy could be feeling like this, I can just imagine what single ladies of marriageable age are passing through emotionally.
For those of you reading my post, it is my prayer that you all get married at the right time and age so that you don't have to pass through the same emotional trauma of loneliness and desperation to get married.
mehn, this year I am feeling strongly to get married just like you. You just express my feelings and my sympathy for single ladies who wish to get married but haven't.
