cybersleek:Wisely said, I am with you on the level of change that is required. I just returned from Nigeria after one months stay, and was totally dejected by what I witnessed. I am currently back in the United States but hope to return back in June. You should think about joining politics. |
What makes Nigeria one of the worst countries to reside in, is not the bad roads or the failing power sector, niether is it the poor health care system nor the detiorating social infrastrusture, Its the people! Yes you and I. We have failed woefully to utilize all the resources provided to us to do somthing tangible. We are lazy, Corrupt, cowardly in short the most indolent black species in sub-saharan west Africa. And if any one of you, who in blind patriotism choses to challenge this charges, I say unto you now! list one accomplisment since our independence in 1960. "500 billion dollars unaccounted for (Multiply that by 118 Naira, and the majority of the illiterate population can't even grasp the number) Thats enough money to eradicate poverty in the whole Sub-Saharan region. Nigeria didnt steal the money, Nigerians did. While the rest of us sit down and pray to God for help. F.Y.I God has blessed our country more than any other country in Africa. There is no major resource that can't be located in Nigeria. Yet we remain a third world country. Quoting from our North American brothers "NIGGA PUHLEASE" |
lucabrasi:One of the smartest comments or post on this forum. I wish more of us on nairaland will use this as a benchmark to what a post should be like. Insightful, thoughtfull, focuses on the subject matter. unbaised and straight to the point while still maintaing and supporting the premise for his argument. Anyway I agree with him. |
The word Bible is derived from the Greek word Biblos which translates in to book e.t.c Bibliography. When i say it is written in the Bible I simply mean, That there are numerous treatise written to that effect. you can literally interprete my meaning to be "it is written in the book" or to some of us in academia "it is common knowledge" I also belive the narative beneth the initial quote supports my meaning. Once again, it is sometimes better to fight for your rights yourself than to leave everthing up to God. That is the uptmost display of indolence. People pray to God while our countys wealth is squandered. So the poster should pray to God while Cult boys are harrasing him. I bet you forget say cult boys to dey go church on Sunday. So prayer cancles prayer. now your back to square one. |
Move to Philadelphia, USA. You should attain your goal weight in about a month or so. |
Wow we all know how to quickly run to God in times of peril. In the Bilble, it is written "For he so help those who help themselve" not "for he so help those who run to him for everything while ignoring their own ability to fight, seek, or work hard for what they want" Oya go and stand in front of express way and pray to God to stop the molue" Any ways my friend if cult boys are bothering you, find a possie of friends to hand out with, inform them of the situation and have them with you whenever possible. Also inform the police (or in this case bribe the police and let them know of the culprits involved) but advice them not to take action till necessary. If your scholl has an anti cult team, avoid them because in my case, they notified the cult boys that i reported them, which led to a huge fight on campus (because the cult boys accosted me when i was with my friends) the police came but they were on my side. the boys were arrested (but obviously let out the next day) they tried to retaliate at a friends party in Ikeja. (But again i was with my crew) this time we made a good example of two of the culprits, almost beating them to a pulp they rest fled and i had to rush the injured ones to the nearest hospital (dont want any body to die on my account) Well in sumation, i was never bothered again. I got a few threats and dirty looks but that was it. actually became good friends of one of the guys that got beaten realy bad and funny enough his on this forum mouthing of. I SEE YOU HAVNT LEARNT YOUR LESSON YET ![]() |
Let whomsoever handling with the idea of delving into the occult be warned!!! It is better to earn the love of another, genuinely and honestly, no matter how difficult and cumberson the effort might be, than to evoke the mania that accompanies true and devine love (which man can never truly experice because devine love is of a higher spiritual substance than his species) Note I use the term Mania (as in madness) Before condecending to these primitive but effective occult practises, one should ernestly consider their true motives. Upon severe introspection, it is easily dicerened that the real reson one would like the other to fall in love with them, is purely upon lust or greed without considering the feelings of the other person. Now ponder upon this!! if you are willing to ignore the emotional disposition of such persons that you intend to enslave with love potion or other occultic remedie (trust me there are numerous), then do you truly love them? What if they were in love with someone else? would you sacrifice their happines for your own greed? we forget so soon tha hate balances love. It is the natural order of things, to now demand devout love with out its counter balance, is a deadly game with dire consequences. Many round the world are now paying the price both in life and in the life after. So beware and step with caution. As for those who mock the genuiety of such practises. you so called mordern man or sons of science. You should be thankfull that your own ignorace protects you. But lack of knowledge is not lack of understanding. There is a whole world out there. It was there before us, it is there now, and will be there long after we all are gone. Those of you who think that medelling in for fun or recreation should halt in their track immidiately. Exploring such occultic realms witout traing is like scuba diving witouth the right gear. |
Toothbrush and a shaving stick. |
I have a better idea! How about this, if the woman says no, (which she surely has every right to regardless of marriage) Then it is okay for the man to find some one who can fufull his need. An amicable compromise wouldnt you say? and vice versa same apply's to the woman (if the man say no, then she can find somebody to fufill her needs) Alas peace in Nigeria. |
hotfunmi: hotfunmi:Why should the statement be withdrawn? It is the truest sumation of African affairs extant bar none. We are all proud to be African especially Nigerians. But devout patriotism should not be a deterent to reason! The truth is the truth, and the sooner we learn to identify and accept it, then sooner we can all work on our iniquities. |
Im taking her to Mykonos Greece. Our cruise leave from Miami. She dos'nt know it yet its meant to be a suprise. ![]() |
dtw_sola:Just like your mother!!! |
Wow, there are a lot of things you nitwits dont understand. Its amazing how we can simplify the most complex of situations while on the other hand, complicate the most simple things. Beign a coach, is not so simple! Its not just about putting the right player at the right spot. its a lot more perverse than that. First of all there are the special interest groups, that demand certain players (those who are either affiliated to them by tribe or affinity) play while other forfeit. Now these special interest group, are also responsible for sponsorhip of the teams. so for a coach to ignore their request might be an unwise choice. This is just a vague example, it gets a whole lot more complicated. Trust me. |
why many people love photography (especially me), is because we live our life in a stream of time which is constanly flowing. It is one of the very few elements we have no control over. we can only measure and observe it. photography is a way of capturing time, and preserving it. When a picture is taking, it is almost like stoping time and then taking a look at it from a diffent point. it give a certain reasurance of identity and personality "i was here,i am me, i lived my life. Time is forerver reminding us that live is short. and i think that we all humans know that. When we take a picture, its like an ability to temporarily have control of an element we have no control of. Wheras video is just another sad reminder that time is ticking and life is shour, because once again it captures that flow of time. |
dtw_sola:Does there have to be a criteria? last time i checked it was called and open forum. Which means a place to post anything of interest to "ANYBODY". I believe what your failing to comprehend is, what might seem so unimportant to you, might mean a whole lot to sombody else. So there in lies your crieteria, PS: Your Welcome |
Gemini25:Sorry to dissapoint you, but em, i think your are ment to have a solid understanding of whom you really are before, during and after the relationship. If you had to wait to be single to reflect than maybe we should reword it to " Due to my inability to decide on where i want to go, and what i want to do with my life, I have become single. (because women dont paticulaly fancy such insecure traits in men) That might make more sense. |
There is no particular benefit of being single, especially in comparison with being with someone. It is more or less some sort of psychological defense men put up because A) They just ended a relationship B)they cant get in a relationship. so they resort so some fantasy about the joys and beauty of being single. People, especially men often associate relationships with entrapment e.g loosing so many freedoms ( like hanging out with your friends e.t.c) But my fellow Nairalander! Might i remind you that if care and patience are exercised when selecting a partner, and a partner is selected based on similarities in personality, hobbies, behavioural patter .e.t.c there would be absolutely no need to feel this way. Because your partner will share the same interests as you do. Certainly, this is no longer the case, and is seldom practised by our modern day men. Instead, selection is based on the most trivial of things e,g lust, wealth, physical beauty (don't get me wrong, it helps if your girl is pretty) while ignoring important things. In situation's like these, the emotional interest invested by both parties is highly unequal and biased. and often tip the balance to where one party is sacrificing a lot to ensure that the other is satisfied, which ultimately ends up in disaster. This is this point, when such diffident persons logs onto Nairaland and create a post that says "What Do You Enjoy Most About Being Single" As if there was something to enjoy. My conclusion to such persons is "My bad" |
NEPA ohh NEPA Why can’t I sleep? Is it because of the sweat that is now soaking my sheet? Or the relentless mosquitoes biting my feet. Is it the harsh embrace of intolerable heat? Or the stench of rotten food permeating my fridge Nepa ohh Nepa If you were a man I would slap you I would take cane and flog you I would jump on you and bite your neck I would……yeah Nepa don bring light. Thank God for Nepa May you have many children? If you had a farm, may it grow plenty cassava and groundnut May your wife be beautiful with big ikebe Just let me iron my sokoto Just let the air conditioner cool me small Just let me turn on the borehole machine Just let me……ohhh Nepa don take light again Make god punish una ![]() |
Dis Guy: lmao. Another great sumation. |
The tribulations plaguing the Nigerian movie industry today are boundless. But amongst these seemingly endless list, one in particular is ubiquitous… copyright infringement. Many might argue against the quality, over exaggeration of dialogue and mediocrity displayed in our movies today. But the true reason’s that our movies lack the quality and the well thought out planning required to make a quality picture, is the simple but inevitable fact that no movie producer, or director is willing to risk investing such funds as is required to make a good quality movie, only to loose the proceeds to boot legers. All other aspects can be attributed to this simple fact. Let’s examine a quick example… In America, most films are shot on a format know as “Film” hence the terminology. This format provides a certain warm and personable quality that is immediately noticeable when viewed especially when compare against video or digital media. Digital media on the other hand is sterile and cold and looks like something made with a home camcorder. Sadly enough this is the format that most Nigerian producers chose to film with because it is cheap and readily available. Film in itself is highly expensive and can cost anywhere from $50 for 100ft of film (which is equivalent to 3min of shooting time) to thousands of dollar for the same length, depending to the quality grade of film or the nature of the project e.g. black and white vs. color. So do the math! And figure our how much it would cost to shoot a full length picture of 1hr 45 min also consider outtakes and bloopers? Another contributing factor to the stunted growth of the Nigerian movie industry is the attitude of the market. In economics, we learn that the demand determines the supply. Thus when the behavior of the market changes, and more Nigerians start to demand quality pictures, the movie execs would have no other choice but to provide the funds necessary to produce such film in order to meet that demand, then the government would have no choice but to implement stricter copyright laws and penalties in order to protect the investments of the various Movie Associations. Hence less piracy, more money to pay better actors, script writer, directors, costume designer, and all those other persons who assist in some capacity or the other to ensure the successful completion of a movie. This is the nature of demand and supply. The mere fact that this is not occurring leaves me no choice but to conclude that we Nigerians are happy with the current state of our movie industry. |
Im not a big fan of beating women, but i have to say this joke was funny, lmao ![]() |
surugede:You must live in a cold humurless world. That why it is called a joke, it written in abstract, like most jokes are. e.g the turtle said to the man. we all know amimals can speak. and superman cant realy fly but its entertaining to watch none the less. Get yourself a life. ![]() |

Yes our men have failed abysmally, but then again it comes down to the chicken and egg argument. Which comes first? the Chicken or the Egg? Is the adoption of such unscrupulous behavior a result of mans insatiable appetite for lust? Or is it the result of woman’s unending quest of seduction to attain material gratification? Maybe it is a copulation of both factors; the point still remains the same. Women today have been taught that seduction is the surest way to get anything from a man! The integration of such teachings by society or culture, into the woman’s development, is one of the greatest failures known to man. As a result, woman spends an inordinate amount of time worried about her physical appearance…basically are they hot enough to attract a partner. No woman can deny that this question looms over her on a daily basis. The resulting factor of such primitive thinking can be witnessed in our modern day fashion… The fewer clothes you wear the better or “the tighter the better” this is designed to play on mans heightened sexual appetite (woman’s seduction). In retrospect let us now consider the man. He… like wise has learned that in order to get a woman he must be financially stable. Now let me state clearly before I proceed any further… what I am about to say, is in no way defending any act of infidelity or promiscuity but just a simple theory. Sadly enough man of today is lustful, and many scientists would argue that it is in our genetic nature to fantasize with the idea of procreating with any member of the opposite sex that we deem appealing. Sometimes these fantasies are materialized into reality and the result can be devastating to person involved in a relationship, usually the woman! Inherent in woman is the same genetic make up; the difference is women have more control, and therein lays the power women have over men! Since man lacks this ability he is more susceptible to such acts or promiscuity than women. Now surely no woman would go out with such a man!!! Knowing fully well that her heart stands a high chance of getting broken right? This is where money comes in. This is the point I am trying to make. A rich man can get away with infidelity, and still have an abundance of mistresses why? Because woman have been taught that it is mans duty to provide while she stays at home to raise the family. Hence she has been raised to be expectant off men and as such psychologically is attracted to men that are financially stable, because she has been taught to aspire to that, even though they might be seriously detrimental and emotionally dangerous for her. |
Money, Money, Owo…Ego…. It is a very poignant and almost heart drenching observation, to witness urbane women openly proclaiming their profound love for wealth under the guise of an unperturbed relationship. I however, am unsighted to such a correlation e.g. man with more money = less stress! Money is like a narcotic; it serves only as a palliative but not a solution and as such, offers no elucidation to an already deteriorating relationship (it’s like putting makeup on a repulsive woman, or like the old axiom states, “a decorated monkey is still a monkey”) How fervent some women have become; accepting a submissive and indolent domestic role in exchange for wealth. This practice is fast becoming the norm in Nigeria and should be curbed at the root before it is too late! On the other hand, a relationship built on “true love” that which is felt from deep within and is experienced equally between both persons, would always blossom despite any vicissitudes that may arise. In such a case, money or the lack there of, Would never be a factor. In the event that such pecuniary troubles occur, both persons due to a true understanding of each other would learn to support and guide each other through the difficult times. A sumptuous lifestyle never assured a long lasting or healthy relationship; instead, it is a justification for a pitiable one. So please, my fellow readers and poster on Naira land, let us be meticulous and patient in finding that true partner that would love you in good and bad times. True love in itself is a virtue that is seldom stumbled upon but on which there is no counterfeit, so when you find it appreciate and treasure it, respect and be humbled by it. For all those women out there chasing dreams, please ground yourself…reality is harsh but sadly enough it is the realm we live in. To deprive yourself from reality by dwelling in unnecessary fantasies is to deprive yourself from the necessary tools needed to survive in reality thus making you venerable and subject to many emotional aches. |
Lets all gather together in prayers for this guy, Father in heaven please forgive this man. He is blinded by love. so blind is he that he can't see all the beautifull women above 21years of age in our beloved country. He is so desperate that he deflowerd a 14year old girl. saying that it was okay with her. Please cast out the demon from his privates. Father in heaven, if i recall correctly such an act is regarded to as pedophilia in other countries, and is punishable by jail time. ohh and one more thing. father in heaven please bestow common sense on him to know such topics are generally frowned upon. and please father in heaven don't let this man come near our little sisters, because i fit take cutlass comot in blocos. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. , FUCKING PERVERT, |
Wow here we go again. First of all only let me start by saying; only lazy people believe in miracles, people who are too lazy to work. Those are the people who will rather pray because it is more convenient and easy to pray than actually go out and make things happen. These are the same people who are gullible enough to believe such outlandish claims, made by people who are nothing less than fraudsters. How we have come to make a mockery of our God? To imagine that He has nothing better to do with the universe, creation and eternity than to attend to our petty needs. When did God turn to our slave? Beckoning to our every wants and desire. A truly honest human being would immediately shudder upon close scrutiny at how hopeless the situation has become. There are approximately 192 countries in the world, with a total population of about 6billion people. Most of these countries are not blessed with 1/10th the natural resources that Nigeria has. Yet they have struggled through enough adversity, to ensure that the average citizens have access to basic social amenities like, roads, water, health care, education, electricity, Rights (e.g. vote, speak, gather in public, information). They adopted a police style that seeks to protect those rights, and legal reforms to uphold them with an army to defend their borders. In Nigeria our policing style was adopted from our colonial, which sought to suppress and oppress not to protect our rights. The luxury we Nigerians seek to enjoy when we travel abroad to other countries, were not just handed to them by God. If you took your time to observe their history, it is immediately evident that it was fought for. In our case in Nigeria, it is different. We want God to fly down from heaven and build us roads and hospitals, maybe while he's at it, marry us a fine woman, while giving us a good job that pays exactly what we want it to pay. In the famous words of our African American brothers “nigga please” These type claims made by such fake prophets, is severely detrimental to our progress as Nigerians. It makes us too complacent because it appeals to our lethargic nature. It is almost like saying “sit back and watch while God makes Nigeria great” Well you all keep waiting, you can call me in America when Nigeria become the greatest country in the world….ohh I forgot the phone lines are bad…, lmao. And while you all a praying, can someone help me tell God I need him to pay my cell phone bill…, I spent more money than I could afford on my Agbada. Lol |
The emotional fabric that circumflex’s a matrimonial union, is usually very complex and hard to decipher. When a marriage losses its emotional value, it can quickly become difficult for both persons involved to tolerate each other let alone live together. This is why before marriage, it is highly important to know your partner; because once the fantasy of love dissipates, and the sex gets dull (which it will) then you have nothing left but a good friend. Once children become involved, the situation gets more complex. Now the future of the child is of utmost important to the parents or parent. Many a parent (especially the woman) would like to ignore the emotional trifles in order to ensure that the child/children have a steady platform to grow. Western science has proven this to be unhealthy to both parents and severely detrimental to the development of the child. Imagine growing up in an environment where all is ostensible. Eventually the act can no longer be kept up; the arguments get louder and in due course spew out from the confines of your bedroom to the full view of your child. To many in Nigeria, we are taught that this is acceptable behavior, some of us might readily identify with the situation because at one point we were those children. Now imagine how sad you felt. It can be psychologically devastating to your child. In my opinion (remember this is an opinion not a recommendation) do what your heart feels is best for you. Any man, who beats a woman to a pulp, is an animal and as such doesn’t deserve a woman of your capacity. I can understand if due to your traditional values and norms, you might want to keep the marriage going but at what cost? Let me remind you that there are thousands of women who get killed by their husbands during domestic disputes each year. The ones who are lucky to survive such brutal attacks are usually so badly disfigured that they pray for death. I bet you at this moment you’re thinking to yourself “ ahh that’s to extreme, Or no not my husband, he wouldn’t take it that far” but research states that a majority of women who have become victims of domestic abuse at some point, all said that. Now my question to you is this, if he beat you that bad then he had probably hit you before and is going to hit you again. So why wait. Plus he is having premarital affairs to add insult to injury. You must really love him, or suffer from a terrible case of inferiority complex. As for the other insensible comments that were posted on this forum by other users in regards to this subject. You have affectionately displayed an inability to reason and empathize with a fellow user. I can only shudder when I read your post. How desensitized some have become, going as far as accusing the woman for causing her own perils. Once again I can only attribute such intolerable behavior to a severe lack of knowledge and understanding bar none. |
Quote from ow11 [s]"Again another one that doesnt like to read". [/s] Once again, another gallant display of mediocrity by someone who claims to be an advocate of the subject matter. I am cognizant of the topic of this forum. But unlike you, I realize how futile and totally worth less it is to bicker and dwell on past issues which serves to one end and one end only,… a means of venting, but offers not significant benefit to an already despondent situation. “Naming and shaming politicians on a forum” wow… is this what you have been reduced to? First of all let me say, “Most” of the claims brought against some of the personalities you mentioned, were all based on anecdotal evidence…hear say. What physical evidence do you have proving any of them committed a crime? Is it the house in Hawaii, Knightsbridge, Spain? Or is it because they have billions of dollars oversees? When did we adopt the inclination to accuse people openly without any legal evidence or at least empirical facts? Granted our government is corrupt (and there is evidence to that claim) and there have been and still are people of questionable character and ethics at the helms of power. But I for one will not stoop to the level of accusing people openly without any facts. If the voracious raping of our countries wealth offended you that much, why didn’t you do anything about it? Ohh let me guess “you are only one person, they have the army…you love life to much to speak for your rights. My point being if you couldn’t and didn’t do any thing then, you probably can’t and won’t do anything now so why complain? Might I remind you, money is still being embezzled as we speak. I guess that’s for another forum topic. Id hate to impugn your integrity but I have to say that your posts lack substance and is intellectually deficient. As such it lends no credibility to the intellectual nucleus of this forum. My friendly advice to you would be to invest in your education or at least keep investing in it. |
