Well all she need to do is to write you a letter of invitation stating you are friends and she wants you to visit. States how long you will be staying, where and who covers the bill etc. With or without virgin passport, it is not a MUST that u will be granted/refuse the visa so go and apply.
Please be advised that Canada has Embassy in Lagos for tourits and students visas, Its only those who wants to go 2 Canada to live process their documents in Ghana

@lanresz, I understand those special cases for sure but def. not if the person is an international student. International Students in Canada are only allowed to work on campus until after completing one year with academic standing. There is no way an int. student will come in and within 3 days get SIN Card or does immigration policy for int. students apply differently for peeps depending on the province?

debosky, Really? when did you arrive if I may ask?

@debosky, he cannot get a SIN card as an International student except when he do apply for a work permit which he would have atleast being in school for 1 whole academic year with good academic standing

@tunnytox, I hope I did not sound as if I am defending Canada cuz I am very neutral with things. No single country is perfect that's why one man's food is another's poison. Some people might move to US cuz of bigger pay, cheaper to shop etc while some might wanna remain in Canada so its a more better place to raise kids, more peaceful etc, so it really depends.

In terms of communication in Canada, a lot of companies are coming in now so things will be a lot better and more competitive. However, there are different plans to suite each person. Like myself, my plan with just 30 bucks a month allows me to receive incoming calls without being charged, free evening starting from 6pm nd free weekends, I am currently in the US for a visit nd my cousins pay to receive calls nd their free evening starts at 9pm, now, it all boils down to each persons plan.
I know a lot of people who moved from US to Canada nd not because of papers as they have papers but cus of other stuff, People take advantage of what offers them the best of what they are looking for. The same goes with the ones in UK, most who have come cannot stop shouting of how Canada is etc, so my point really is that it all depends on what you are looking for, If I am doing well in UK, I do not see why I should move an inch, da same with to other places,

@Kunle, I am pretty sure that once it is time for you to apply for the Visa, you will need to go to Nigeria but applying to get admission can be done from anywhere, Goodluck

You should have submitted it by 1st/2nd of June, You can still try your luck, who knows God will butter your bread. if not, they will tell you to re-apply nd start winter semester nd hopefully your school have winter. Which of the schools did you gain admission?
