I still maintain there are consequences for actions! A key rule is to forgive and not forget so you are not left holding the bag! Even the God of the Bible follows that rule! I don't believe there was anyone in the Bible that didn't have consequences for their actions even the man after God's heart in David did despite asking for forgiveness and it was accepted! Ire o!

PS - If we have a society that believes there are no consequences for actions especially climes like Nigeria, such places are usually shitholes! Even saner climes understand this!
In Nigeria, most people are “pardoned” because they have something to give, not because they don't deserve to be penalized. So essentially, the system in Nigeria is basically unjust and corrupt.

I never said there are no consequences. The question is, are these consequences permanent? How would you know if she hasn't already served the consequences already? You don't know up to 1% of the lady's story, so why should you determine her consequences?

You'd disown your brother for not being sure on what decision to take concerning a confession from someone he loves? I'm not sure you meant that.

That is the problem with most Christians, they think forgiveness is without consequences when their Bible is clearly against that! I wonder what Bible Christians read these days no wonder there is a lot of atrocities since they will be "forgiven" anyways. This builds a society that is a shithole in my opinion. In saner climes, there are consequences for your actions whether you have changed or not to serve as a deterrent to others and a lesson to the people involved! Bible or not!
Did you know that sometimes, making people pay for their wrongs does not achieve the expected result? Instead, it makes them worse than they were. I'm not in anyway against punishments and discipline, please don't get me wrong.

Just because people can change, does not mean people should not be judged by their past. If you ignore that, I hope you are not left holding the bag when they go back to their vomits. My 2 cents.
This is where wisdom and complete reliance on God are profitable.

You know that this person has the tendency to go back to their past, but what you don't know is if they WILL. Now since you don't know what the future holds, the best choice is to ask God for direction through His Spirit (because He knows all things), and He will do just that.

That doesn't mean you should ignore the person and treat them with contempt, your simple acts of love towards them can cement their turning away from who they used to be.

I'll give you only 1 cent for being reasonably speculative. grin

No it is not ignorance

It is CHOICE! Let her go and look for and marry her yahooman and his groupies.
“Choice” is determined by several factors, ignorance being one of them.

GhostWisperer:
how does forgiveness wipe away consequences?

Na Christians like you be the problem with reality.

Adam and Eve sinned and were forgiven. But the consequences of their sins are still being suffered today.

A girl who has fauked unrestrained, unethically out of boundaries is forgiven ALRIGHT!

BUT SHE WILL HAVE ISSUE WITH LOYALTY AND SEXUAL FULFILLMENT. HER SENSE OF SATIATION AND PLEASURE HAS BEEN FOREVER ALTERED. THAT'S THE CONSEQUENCES.

THE OPTION OF WHAT LIES OUTSIDE IS HEIGHTENED FOR HER!
The consequences of Adam and Eve's sin are bi-faceted.

1. It separated man from God and made relationship with God largely restricted.

2. It plunged the whole of humanity into evil and imperfection.

The first consequence (which is more dangerous) was corrected by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and is made effective in the lives of those who will accept it by faith.

The second consequence remains uncorrected because of the natural laws of this physical realm which we live in, but it can be SUBDUED by the power of God in Christ through the Holy spirit who corrected the first consequence.

The effect of the lady's sexual escapades you mentioned is a matter of the mind. Meaning it is spiritual, and as far as spirituality is concerned, there's no heart which is willing to be subdued that cannot be subdued by the word of God. God's forgiveness upon humanity made this possible.

So yes, forgiveness can erase the consequences of a person's past misdeeds.

I don't know how old you are as a male. But if you don't know how sex damages a woman , you will never understand it even if it is explained.
I believe in a God whose forgiveness doesn't rely on the past of others. His love is unconditional, and His forgiveness is only available for a heart which is willing to be forgiven. He can turn everything around for that person, no matter how damaged they are. Who am I to cast judgement on anyone when I'm not innocent myself?

Why would I advise someone to do something I wouldn't do? You don't know me. So why make such hasty and petty conclusions about me?

Most girls will tell you their past for two reasons:

1. In case you are likely to find out later.

2. To furnish ensnare you to trsjt them unreservedly. Her confession is just 1/10th of the things she had done.

And no girl who had WILLINGLY participated in simultaneous multiple sex should be married.

She's irredeemable.
No one is irredeemable, no matter what they have indulged in. It all depends on the individual, how much willpower they have to overcome their past and the impact it has on them. How does indulging in orgies make one irredeemable?

Always blaming guys for all your problems, who asked you to have ugly pasts, like it was not as a result of your foolish decisions
The past is past oga. Some bad decisions most people make are a result of ignorance. Unfortunately, not everyone lives to learn the lessons from there.

You can't say you haven't made any bad decision since you became fully conscious of yourself.

Don't completely judge people by their pasts, every single person is prone to change and it is usually a process, not something that happens at once.

Thanks, for being unbiased. People just want you to always support your family even when they are wrong.
I am not saying Annie is wrong because i dont know where and how the issue started.

But it will even shock people saying its because of 2babas money, that the man in question does not depend on 2baba for anything, rather he might even be the one giving 2babas kids as uncle.

Because 2baba is popular, that does not make every one around him dependent on him or broke.
Spot on.

I wonder why people would rush to conclude on the reason for his action, when they are not aware of the nitty-gritty of the whole story.

So how does his unreasonable conclusion depict all Nigerians as “a shameless bunch of fools” ? I think you should take your own advice.

My husband and I are one the moment we said I do. No body else matters and family should now their place. The moment they gave me to him, they gave up the right over me to him.

So, let them go and live their lives and build their own family. We will communicate through calls, family meetings and visits.

That's all.
Technically, this means that the new bond sort of weakens the old bond and all attention goes to the new stronger bond. I think this is reasonable, but most people see it as an act of turning your back against your family.

What is this? If you cannot support your own sister publicly, then shut your trap. Tuface's family is supporting him and you are disowning your own sister. Na wa oo. Annie has every right to be angry to find out that her husband, Tuface, went to sleep his ex. How would Tuface feel if Annie goes to sleep with one of her ex boyfriends. You think her body is firewood?
For a person to disown their immediate family member, do you think the only issue here is Annie calling out Tuface for alleged infidelity? There's obviously more to this. With the way it quickly escalated, it shows that something was building up.

Just like I was telling my friends yesterday, as a man — one of the best things you can do for yourself as a young man/young lady growing through life is to learn the act of self-control and how to put your body, mind & soul under subjection...because if you don't? You'll become like a directionless wind going from east to west...

Just look at 2face... He's musically successful no doubt... But what about family?

You’d Be Crazy to Miss This! Check my signature
There's no such thing as being directionless. It's either you're going the right way, or straying towards the wrong way. The latter is often expressed when you don't even know where you're going.

Assume a serial killer who derives joy killing people or a sadomisochist or a fraudster/scammer that derives joy from others gloom or loss.

Omo forgiveness is hard sometimes oh, takes years in some cases, you'll think you've forgiven them then something brings back all the hurt
Yeah, you're right but these offenses sometimes help us discover who people really are. With the way the lady has presented the matter, it's easy to think that her actions are not directly a consequence of her husband's infidelity. It looks like she was looking for an opportunity to perform her exploits, and the husband made it easy for her by cheating.

I like your last paragraph...does it really make you worse than the offender though?
Not necessarily, that's why I used the word “probably” . It does sometimes, especially when your offender feels remorseful about their offence.
