Travel › Re: Nigerian Lady Assaulted At Warere Beach Hotel In Zanzibar, Tanzania by humberjade:
I don't know why, once I am outside the comfort of my bed...anywhere other than my father's house, anywhere else I pass the night, my antenna is always at alert.

Me in most hotels around the world...

Firstly, I hate ground floor rooms...once in the room, I scan it for spy cameras.

Secondly, I try to place something behind the door, something that would make noise and wake me up should someone try to sneak into my room. Most times I lean a chair against the handle of the door, so that it will be difficult to open from outside. So except the person comes in through the window or the ceiling in the bathroom, there is no way you will come in without my notice.

Thirdly, I keep my most priced assets where a potential thief wouldn't look. I just leave a few bucks in my now scanty wallet to get the scent off the real thing. Neither do I leave these things behind whenever I leave the room...even to the shower.

Call me paranoid...na you sabi cheesy...One can't be too careful these days. We learn everyday.

I know a potential hotel criminal is reading this right now, but nor worry, your days are numbered. grin

Let's wait and see the numbers he can pull this time...the higher the number, the clearer his path. Like I often mention, if political players in APC thinks he doesn't have a chance, most of them will be boycotting his 2023 related events.

Time will tell...If I am chanced, I would love to come home during the next election to cast my vote for him. He proved what he is capable of during his time as acting President.

But most importantly for me is that anyone whose administration will reduce the suffering of Nigerians should win. But we don't need those two ancestors

Why should anybody be waiting for anointing anyway? They should go to the field and test their popularity. For me buhari lacks the moral to choose his successor. I'll not vote for anybody endorsed by Buhari.
Well, Buhari might be a huge failure by a million miles...but his endorsement of any candidate will go a long way...remember the party was built around him...and after all, APC might settle for a concensus candidate too...his endorsement alone, as poorly as he is performing, could win the endorsed the APC ticket and still fetch him an extra 3m or more votes at the general elections...do not underestimate the power of incumbency...Buhari is not Jonathan

It's not just Sanwo olu some other pro Tinubu governors were there too. It's a game of deep intrigues. Most of these governors see the VP as a small boy in politics.
If it was so, most would have boycotted...obviously most of them are still on decided; not knowing who the anointed one is... or are in on the game. Can't you see most of them didn't show up at Amaechi's declaration. If they thought lowly of him, they have boycotted without caring whose ox is gored.

oikirodah:
2023: Is El Rufai And Atiku Bagudu Sending A Cryptic Message Across Endorsing Tinubu's Candidature? Check This Out

In the Military parade, there is what is called "Parade Moving From Slow To Quick March" what this literally means is that the parade is going to change from a slow march to a quick march. Commencing with the left foot, a pace of 60cm (24 inches) is taken and the parade changes immediately.

As we approach the party primaries for the general elections the slow march has finally given way to a quick march. Everyone is declaring and at the last count Vice President Osinbajo has signified interest in the nation's top job.

This week we are expected to see Ogbonnaya Onu declaring, also the rumour is rife that Chirs Ngige is going to declare as well even Timpre Silva is warming up to declare.

So everywhere is bubbling with activities, Nigerians now have multiple choices to choose from.

There is something playing out that has gotten me thinking loud, you know the Governors are very powerful and have a large say on who gets what in party affairs. Getting to study the body language of some of these governors who are normally reserved has made me realise that some of them are sending cryptic messages across about who their preferred aspirants may be.

Last week Tinubu was at Kaduna to commiserate with the people of the State over the unfortunate train incident that led to the loss of lives. During the visit by the Jagaban the host Governor, Nasir El Rufai gave up his official seat for Tinubu to sit down while addressing the press and others.

Although the ceremony was a solemn one, nevertheless a cryptic message was passed with that singular act. El Rufai who was amazed at Tinubu's show of sympathy may have keyed into the "Tinubu Fever".

The seal of the governor of the state was not covered which goes a long way to say Tinubu was well respected and venerated, it would have taken nothing for Asiwaju to seat beside Governor El Rufai.

Then today again something played out that tells me Tinubu may have secured the majority of the backing of APC State Governors.

Tinubu called a meeting with the APC governors and the meeting was held at Kebbi House in Abuja.

Hmm, do you know what this means? Kebbi State Governor hosted the meeting, in politics during the eleventh hour which we presently are, every move is a suspect, you can not come out and host a meeting in your lodge when your party has other aspirants and tell me you are not sympathetic to the cause of the person your are hosting.

Why dem no host Yahaya Bello or Rochas or even Amaechi for their governor's lodge?

Why was Osinbajo's visit hosted at his residence in Aso Rock? Why did Tinubu not host the Governors in his house?

The game is getting more exhilarating oh, my own na to talk am as I see am o.

Check out the controversial photo that makes me conclude El Rufai has finally pitched his tent with Team Tinubu.

My name na Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah and I am the Principal/Chairman of Bush Radio Academy.
grin

What if El Rufai left his seat to allow Tinubu sit because it will be too cumbersome to be moving the microphones and seats around.

In politics, 24 hours is a very long time, how much more the fact that we still have few months till last day stipulated by INEC for parties to conclude their primaries. So many candidates will step time as time goes on, but in my own permutation it is Ameachi vs Tinubu/Osinbajo (forget the political games going on)..
Tinubu and Osinbajo are one, the 2 won't go to the primaries.

I am an Arsenal fan, but I said it in February that we will be in the mix come May, but that the team is too thin to make top 4. A key player gets injured, everything go to sh*t. And trust me, it could get worse.

With what this young team has gone thru this season, and how far they've come, the least they deserve is a place in Europe.
Travel › Re: Share Your BRT Delay Experience In Lagos by humberjade:
Nigeria is far behind in virtually everything. There is nothing we seem to be doing right in that country. Apart from the fact that the transportation network in Lagos needs to be digitalised, more importantly however, the govt needs to find a means to decongest Lagos roads...open the water ways more...ensure the completion of 4th mainland bridge in earnest...because as far as the roads are still congested, BRT and other related buses will be coming late.

And finally most service based companies in the Nigeria lack respect for their customers, they believe they are king.

In some countries, there are applications linked to all their transportation networks....you can see animated movement of trains, trams and buses...you know how far out they are...even if you have to connect 10 means of transportation to your destination...the apps directs you and gives you the accurate departure and arrival time of each train and bus. Although there few times some are delayed or canceled, but you won't be left in the dark.

Transportation is a gold mine, and if throughly and strategically operated and managed can bring fortunes to the govt and private investors. Countries like Germany makes a fortune from it. You dare not ride in any of the public means without a ticket...you ride free and get caught, you get fined an equivalent of 30k naira each time you are caught, and you must pay it. For these reasons, they make sure they keep all commuters well informed and taken care of.

Please does one need to be good before entering academy?

I haven't played football before but I wish to start playing it.If possible,go professional!
Well, it depends on so many factors: age, passion, health and physical condition, and luck.

Age: If you are well over 20 and you just want to start pushing your heart and body generally to withstand the rigours of sports, that's you asking too much from your body. Most professional footballers started at very early ages. And note that you must be below the age of 23 to get admitted, except of course you want to cut down your age.

Passion: This is where passion comes in, as far as you are still below the age of 25 years, if you haven't misused your body, and have huge passion for the game, you will be able to push your body beyond limit to catch up.

Health and physical condition: If you are alcoholic, chain smoker or do drugs, please stay away from professional sports altogether...cardiac arrest is real. Rule out all bad health conditions...heart palpitations, heavy chest, high blood or sugar level, etc
Sex addiction amongst other activities that makes the heart and body weak.

Luck: Not every skilful footballer is able to decently make it...some don't even make it to their local league, not to talk of making it abroad. Luck has made so many players make it far, even without distinctive skills...just piece by piece skill sets.

So bearing these in mind, you can shoot your shot. If you have the money, time, and patience needed before recognition comes, go ahead. And note that every position in football is now becoming more technical too...you have to work on your positional play, on and off the ball movements, good at short and long range passes, powerful shots, good at set pieces, faints, dribbles, etc...you have to be very good at least at one of these eventually if you want to make it professionally.

And you need to work on your endurance level, build your muscles a bit, and practice well ahead with a ball before hitting any academy...because most will turn you back if your endurance level is low, or you don't even know the basics of playing football.

Best of luck

Arsenal looked lethargic from the first minute...playing the way Super Eagles were playing against Ghana; as if nothing was at stake.

With the rate at which Tottenham is banging in goals, and as against Arsenal's slim wins, Arsenal might end up missing out on UCL yet again.

I think it is high time every institution in Nigeria inculcate how to do CPR into their curriculum. Imagine, someone slumped, the woman with him didn't perform any CPR on him, neither did the hotel staff or even the police that later came, who then conveyed him to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead. In all these, about 2 to 3 hours go don pass. A basic CPR from the widow or the hotel staff could have saved his life.
