airmark:Or Traore. . . but hes better than Cuadrado |
Tval:Abeg hit us with 2nd half link. Na on phone i dey watch am |
airmark:His touch is all over the place |
dawhizkid1:Oscar is 24 years old (no longer a youngster) and has never been nominated for young player of the year in his local league yet you class him top 5 young AMS in the world. I want some of what you're smoking. Coutinho you mentioned got nominated with the big boys, not even youngsters and made team of the year. How can i compare him with someone who cant even be nominated with youngsters after 3 solid seasons of playing AM for one of the top 2 clubs in the country? Meanwhile Sterling has been nominated severally, even won the European version of YPOTY and had £49m put on his head while Juve are pricing £19m for Oscar. The Oscar myth has been exposed. He is no longer a youngster and has never had an outstanding or even good season in his career. He is only still at Chelsea because we cant get a decent price on the market - to even breakeven on what we spent on him. Ive always rated De Bruyne over Oscar, forget politics. All these fake Brazilian internationals are/have been exposed for what they are - products of hype due to third party interests in their value. I cant place Oscar in my top 30 players under 24. |
dawhizkid1:Even dis na blasphemy if this is what you said. Is he not mates with Ramsey, De Bruyne, Isco, Sterling, Gotze, Coutinho, Calhanoglu and many others? Please we have tasted Mikel as our DM especially in 2012/13 season and had to replace him with Luiz, Lampard, Matic and co cos he doesnt do his basic job properly, so dont come here telling us about the Mikel you know from Super Eagles where Onazi does his defensive job for him. The Mikel we know sees an agricultural brute like Kurt Zouma drafted into midfield in his stead because he can't be trusted to do his job defensively. The Mikel we know is also well into his 30s claiming to be 27 or 28. The Mikel we know is only at Chelsea after 3 solid seasons of riding the bench because his patron in the Technical Director chair is looking after him. |
dawhizkid1:Hmmmmm. . . you told us this time last year that the Oscar you know is one of the top 3 Under23 players in the world. . . |
lordfalcao:Callejon is alright. Certainly an upgrade, most importantly he scores goals |
Looks like Chelsea are in for Jose Callejon Meanwhile Jose says to forget talk about Witsel cos he already has 6 midfielders. . . unless one of them leaves |
I don't who keeps giving this two faced weasel limelight on front page. Barcanista is a jobless oaf looking for appointment, our very own FFK on Nairaland. I cant stand duplicitous, hungry and desperate men.
|
I remember arguing with I think chic2pimp at season start that I know Felipe Luis as being weak defensively and strong attacking-wise right from his days at Deportivo. . . . and that I only saw him be strong defensively when Simeone started coaching him. I think his experience at Chelsea bears that out - defending is not his natural default setting. |
donjazet:When we request new signings, we are leaving space for the kids. . . the spaces that deadweights like Mikel, Ramires and Cuadrado are currently occupying. |
Icon4s:Super Ted and Voltron all day, followed by Robert Ramjet |
AirborneLacer:Old age, as with all promising Nigerian players. |
Nihilist:Good choice. Lots of pacy players means they're not relying on him for pace, also less competition for the no9 shirt. The window is starting to move slowly. Luis out, Rahman in. Next Salah out should bring a face in. We shoulda put Ramires out for Witsel also. I'm sure AVB is still a fan of Rami and would have him at Zenith |
ThaBlaqBonez:He must be employing bots or sitting on PC with his friends clicking all day. NL sef cant get you more than 2000 votes. I made the request to the mods but they are not forthcoming. |
liricyst:Once you spit this one for crowd, na boo dem go take pursue you. At least 25% of Nigerians have come across Ohm's law. . . . .a small percentage would give you props for that. Oscillation is even more niche. . . . we no send am. . . . and I no think say Okeke Physics cover am well sef. |
liricyst:C'mon dude, who no know say current na I. Why would I know that you are referring to Ohm's Law and not know the symbol for current. Does that make sense to you? You related Max Power to square of resistance without mentioning current, hence I said you should have built in current in your build-up as current is actually what is squared. I can't give you 10/10 for that line. . . . This is a 10/10 Ohm's law punchline. . . . Those old verses you penned are skilless/ and show proverbial weakness and ya current flow. . . Im sorry!! . . . shows no potential difference |
JM is giving me HBP with his recent statement that we will only sign John Stones thís window. What happened to his earlier proclamation that he needs a defender, midfielder and striker? Shey Mikel na the midfielder? I reckon the club has hamstrung him thís window, maybe due to the Felipe Luis bust and possibly Cuadrado who I think was recommended by the club anyway. They should not forget his 3 other signings delivered the league - Matic, Fabregas and Costa. These people no go kill me with HBP. Wasn't it obvious that lack of midfield cover made us tentative against PSG as we were dominated in midfield and scared of counterattacks? |
Chasing Stones over midfielder and winger is an exercise in stüpidity. It is not Mourinho chasing Stones, I believe it's the club. |
@ Mukina2, Airmark, lalasticlala Can we help one of our own on here and push this to front page? Thanks |
bandely:Bartomeus (and Rossels) regime has the corruption and tax evasion stain of the Neymar transfer hanging over it, not to mention haranguing Guardiola and making life difficult for him, but I think elections came at a perfect time for him - just after winning the treble! |
ThaBlaqBonez:If you put thís on FrontPage, you will get disqualified from sheer no of votes. Lalaboi who runs NJOK is one of our mods in music section, and I'm sure your fellow contestants come to NL also, and may complain. You have a healthy lead so I think you should win, but if any contestant has a sudden surge and overtakes you, let us know, then we can petition the mods. |
bandely:All candidates agreed that they were gonna keep Turan. . . .it was debated live on Barca TV channel between all 4 contestants and they came to a concensus that whoever wins will honour the agreement. . . remember also that Luis Enrique wanted the player so it is any Presidents interest to keep him happy as his stock is high with Los Cules currently. . . |
I voted for Blaqbonez and Prometh as they are part of our community. . . . Listening to all the entries, Blaqbonez was the best, followed by Chockie, then Tytanium . . . . Prometh in 4th, but all were good efforts. |
From the punches analysis above, I've shaded punches to Elymax. . . . so here's how the rest of the criteria goes. . . opener - 1 point - Lirycist •rhymes - 2 points - Lirycist all day eg: My bars shortly will dish out acute pain cos my opponent’s obtuse/ No giving this Rodent a truce/ His nick is Air coupled with lies, in him every component’s a ruse/ Best pity yourself in this dentrimental battle/ cos it shows you are expendable like experimental samples/ Ya family will be indifferent when I send the metal at you/ •similes/ metaphors - 2 points - Lirycist The science metas were a higher form of metas than Max's offering •punchlines -3 points - Max As dissected above •personals - 2 points - Max BTW @ darkenedrebel, 2 points is too much to give in a battle where personals were not a big factor. I recommend this category only carries 1 point going forward. •flow - 1 point - Lirycist •word-plays/puns - 2 points - Max Lirycist is yet to add this category to his arsenal •closer - 1 point - N/A, didn't really feel both Final scores: Elymax 7 - 6 Lirycist Close battle, highly debatable. . . . . . .but I give a slight edge to Elymax |
Wow, this is a CLASSIC final!! Engineering ninjas like Coogar will love Lycisists punches, me I liked em, but I also equally loved Max's witty punches. These are my Don de Marcos: Elymaxiimus:7/10 Elymaxiimus:The final punch was generic, but this build up was hilarious. . . . I am awarding extra 2 points for this build-up Elymaxiimus:Decent wordplay in the build-up and the final punch also landed nicely . . . . 7/10 Elymaxiimus:Simple and effective.. . . the first two bars was a waste of rhyming. . . .you only needed these two last lines to land an effective, clean, simple punch. . . . .7/10 Elymaxiimus:This was in the build-up, not the punch but I add 2 extra points for this cos I like those little mini-punches that keep the reader interested. Elymaxiimus:I deduct -2 points for this. . . . vets should not be talking of spider and web Elymaxiimus:This is only build-up, but I love the flow and personal lands funny as hell. . . . I award an extra 3 points Elymax punches total - 26 points ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Liricyst:6/10. . . . . could be better with better build up Liricyst:8/10. . . . .I would give 10/10. . . . but it's a very niche topic so I deduct 1 point. . . .also current is squared in Ohm's law so build-up could have been better. . . . Liricyst:8/10. . . .The punch is not a haymaker. . . . but the build-up is delicious. . . Note: You are now running out of credit on Physics subject matter Liricyst:Decent word association scheme . . . . 5/10 Liricyst:Now I'm deducting -2 point for overplaying Physics and for reaching. It's too niche, it doesn't land and swinging wrecking balls on someone's balls is a reach. Associating Newton's 'cradle' to 'grave' is also a reach. Poor set up, bad idea. Lirycist punches total = 25 |
nitlad:You must have been in conference Cup. Anyway, I see Mukina2 has given dyabman code. If standards are that low, surely nitlad must be eligible to receive code. |
bigkesh:Well said bigkesh. . . . jimmy4x, no be say we dey vex for you. . . .but we dey vex for you cos you keep bringing vagrants to our thread. . . . |
kr0ne:Don demarco! kr0ne:This is a funny @zz build-up. . . . |
nitlad:High wetin? Where you finish last season? You done crack top 10 before? Please don't compare water to kaikai. All fingers are not the same. |
jimmy4x:I'm not taking sides. Everytime we Chelsea fans log on here to check transfer news or see our fellow forumites thoughts on how the squad is shaping up, all we see is 5 pages of jimmy4x and some nonentities going back and forth on some unintelligible gibberish that hurts our eyes. Na you dey bring all these clowns come here. Chill out on the brainless arguments with your Barca, Real and Manure rivals on our thread so we can enjoy our collective experience on this thread. We no come here to see your private conversations on BBM either. All I'm looking for on this thread is clear space to read what Bimffo, Mithel, Emaprince, FBS, TVal, Nihilist, Nateevs, CFCfan, Airbournelacers, lalaboi and all our Chelsea brothers have to say, that's all. I can't be coming here to sift through 5 pages of unreadable nonsense between jimmy4x and some nonentity everyday. |
jimmy4x:Dude, just take a break. We are tired of stupidity and unedifying semi-literate nonsense back and forths on this thread. |
