Ipukulu Marines withdraw from title race with head held high.

Not many managers can claim to finish top 10 four years in a row or to finish 1st and third in two successive seasons with one FA Cup and FA Cup 2nd place thrown in for good measure. All focus now turns to the FA Cup for this season. One thing is for sure, Ipukulu is the best performing team in the history of Nairaland FPL.. . . .and Amangala never carries last!!! Kudos to the leader Roman Abramovic FC. Next season we reclaim our crown.

lasunray: After Helping Her To Find A Job She Boned Me

Hello Nairalanders,
Happy New Month,
I Helped a very close friend of mine to find a good job that pays close to hundred thousand naira, after her first pay she Just stopped calling, texting, keeping in touch as she does before. Its not that she is that busy because she does 2days off and 3days on (Mon to Fri).
I don't need her money; if she gives me any, I will definitely not collect.
I still try to keep in touch but she ain't reciprocating.
She gists me about the work place and other things but if I ask now, she always has nothing to say.

NB: Am still schooling.

How would you feel if you are in my shoes? I want to learn here so you candid advise will be appreciated.
First off, N100k per month is a miniscule amount of money and no reason for anyone to bone anyone.

Second of all you might be overstating the role you played in getting her the job. Anything short of recommending her to the employer is no cause to paint a picture like you gave her a job. Whether you alerted her to the vacancy, helped her do her CV or coached her for interview, it does not mean she is indebted to you forever.

To draw line under season long debate. . .

nateevs: Okay Ibime, I am completely lost on the focus of your argument. Let me get this straight. You claim the squad is unbalanced and that it is the fault of Emenalo. What if Benitez finds a formula for balance in this squad and wins games without buying a new player? Would that be seen as a indictment of the tactical and managerial approach of RDM and therefore an exoneration of Emenalo?

The only outcome that can lay credence to your point of view is for Rafa to run into the exact same kind of problems that RDM had. If Rafa finds a solution, then all your argument sublimes. Do you agree with this?
Has Rafa run into the same problems as RDM?

So I guess ma point is LAID CREDENT.

debosky: ^^ But Emenalo's squad won you the UCL and FA cup last season no?

Emenalo's squad won the League and Cup double with Ancelotti no?

Seems all bad is Emenalo's fault, everything good is to someone else's credit.
I was waiting for one of these nincompoops to make the mistake of trying to attribute RDMs success to Emenalo.

RDM took the worst squad in Chelsea recent history from near certain elimination to glory and yet some lilliputs who were so happy when RDM got sacked want to take his glory and give it to the slimeball Girls scout manager who stuck the knife into RDM.

The same slimeball told Abramovic that Benitez is the manager who shares his vision and would make the team successful. That alone is sackable offence since Benitez came and confessed with his own mouth that Emenalo has built an unbalanced team.

And don't dare attribute 2010 success to Emenalo. Nor to Arnesen who held his position at the time.

If Emenalo should be credited with anything during Ancelotti era, he should be credited with derailing Chelsea's season when Ray Wilkins was sacked and Emenalo was employed as assistant or "Roman's spy". Mist Chelsea fans still swear by the fact that the Ray Wilkins affair was what cost Chelsea the league that season as we were top and few points clear when that incident took place.

Emenalo is an incompetent slimeball who has proven his incompetence with all finality via Benitez. Benitez us his chosen man. Even the most rabid Benitez hater would tell you Benitez team does not concede goals except the team he us working with is unbalanced and has no midfield. Emenalo OUT!

Cahill said "all season I've been doing too much defending". This includes the 4 months Lamps was injured when Ramires and Mikel were baskets. The only "passable" midfield combo at Chelsea is Luiz/Lamps who are yet to lose a game together. I was shocked that FSW brought back the sloth Mikel against City.

Ramires has proved beyond doubt he is an atrocious central midfielder. As one of the blogs put it "every Man City attack started with Ramires " or as another put it "Ramires needs to know that running alone is not good enough to play for Chelsea ". Ramires is atrocious. The most Chelsea will ever get from him is deploying him as a defensive winger. That guy is just rubbish.

Mikel knocked us out against Juventus and his slothfulness against Man City was self evident. Yaya Toure exposed him as a sloth.

John Obi Mikel. . .

Some footballing lillyputs told us Chelsea would challenge successfully and were salivating themselves at season start ranting about MaZaCar and whatnot. How wonderful they thought Chelsea would be this season.

I told em Michael Emenalo has messed up the squad and that this team would fail.

Later they blamed RDM for our lack of balance and held Emenalo faultless..

They told us if anything Benitez would tighten up the defence, that RDM had no defensive nous whilst Benitez is a defensive manager.

They asked whether Benitez would exonerate Emenalo.

Even their "defensive manager" now claims the "team is unbalanced" and Emenalo is pissed.

When will footballing lilliputs throw in the towel and admit that they had not the second clue what they were arguing about.

Benitez OUT. . . . but first things first. . . . Emenalo OUT!!!

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill was left unimpressed by the lack or protection that was given to the back four and feels it has been a problem for most of the year.

He moaned to Chelsea TV: “Yes (I did a lot of defending), way too much really. I don’t know why or what was wrong. Normally you probably get asked to do three or four important things in a game, against Man City I probably had 20-25.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelsea-facing-most-crucial-period-1730912?

Benitez, confident in his own abilities, believed he was the man to transform Chelsea when he was parachuted into the seat still warm from Roberto Di Matteo's backside in November.

Yet the results have not come. Where Di Matteo garnered 24 points from 12 Premier League games before being relieved of his command, Benitez has picked up just 25 from 16. Chelsea, four points adrift of top spot on November 23, are now 19 off the pace.

Benitez, whose reign at Liverpool ended amid political intrigues more akin to a medieval court than a football club, had arrived in SW6 determined to avoid the squabbles.

But Technical Director Michael Emenalo - the man responsible for player recruitment - is understood to be seething at Benitez' continued complaints about the depth and balance of the squad.

Falling out with the man who pushed hardest for your recruitment is not the smartest move on the planet but more critical is Benitez' relationship with his players. Benitez believed he could right the wrongs on the training ground but is now resigned to his fate. Chelsea's mad fixture list - tomorrow's trip to Middlesbrough will be their 16th of 2013 and 27th in 94 days - has prevented any real intensive work.

At the same time, the players are beginning to voice private doubts over the Spaniard's methods and practices. They are devoutly unconvinced.

The feelings are seemingly mutual, with Benitez bewailing the lack of leadership and personality in his squad - yet at the same time omitting the one man who embodies those qualities, with skipper John Terry a frustrated figure on the Etihad bench on Sunday.

That Terry wants to play and feels he should is obvious. There has been no ruck between interim manager and captain but at the same time the centre-half is growing increasingly anguished by what he has witnessed.

The Spaniard is castigated for what are deemed dull, like-for-like substitutions and for his support of Fernando Torres - one goal, against Brentford, in 15 appearances - although switching to 4-4-2 at Manchester City brought little change.

Benitez knew his best resolution with the Chelsea fans was to reach the point of grudging acceptance but any chance of that evaporated with the home defeat by QPR. Since then it has been a downward spiral, on and off the pitch. When Chelsea win only six games out of 15, in all competitions, it is a crisis.

And now the test is more critical. The trip to Teesside is an obstacle but it is the last 10 Premier League matches that matter.

Chelsea's squad is not strong enough. Last season's sixth-placed finish, masked by the Champions League and FA Cup triumphs, were a pointer to this term's struggles.

But if Chelsea are not dining at European football's High Table, it will be far tougher to persuade managers and players to join by cash alone - even harder in the era of Financial Fair Play. Finish fifth and it is leftovers and crumbs, not the main course.

Luis Felipe Scolari, Andre Villa Boas and Roberto Di Matteo all lost their jobs because the men who matter at Stamford Bridge feared Chelsea would not finish in the top four.

Villas-Boas, exactly a year ago next Monday, and Di Matteo, were both guillotined following defeats by West Brom. And Saturday's visitors to SW6? The Baggies, of course. Benitez knows there is no more margin for error.

Very poor tactics by Rafa today.

Lampard. . . I expect you to score that penalty.

Mata. . . Very anonymous.

Mikels lethargy and slothfulness exposed by Yaya Toure.

Ivanovic on an offday.

Ramires wasteful in good positions.

Rafa is just a joker. He took off the best attacking player Hazard. He took the most lethargic midfield to Man City, a team known for packing the midfield with warriors, and all his substitutions were disastrous. He started with Mikel and Lamps in midfield and finished with Luiz and Oscar in midfield and Ramires at right back by which time the team was in a state of confusion. Disgraceful!

Mata offers very little in matches like this. He needs to drop deeper and get involved in the nitty gritty, instead he always wait on the halfway line for guys to play him in. This is why RDM subbed him off early in every UCL game last season.

You will my friend!

As someone who often has to present, and someone who used to be nervous at public speaking, here are ma tips:

(1.) Rehearse your material
(2.) Always arrive at meeting /conference early and settle your nerves with one to one chat.
(3.) Always take the positives of any public performance. Don't dwell on the negative points or ruminate on them.
(4.) find one of your pals at the meeting and "present" to them, looking at them while you do so.
(5.) the more you do, the more you tell yourself "I'm good at this" until you become comfortable taking centre stage.

Most importantly, nobody is genetically coded to love or hate public speaking. Like everything in life, you improve and get better. Nobody is naturally nervous never to change.

As a child I was a literary and debating champion at school. When I left Nigeria as a teenager, I became nervous of public speaking because I was conscious of my accent. Now as an adult I am good at public speaking after years of developing ma confidence and presentation techniques.

Arsenal should take notes from AC Milan on how a big club conducts itself even when on it's knees. Arsenal are the only big club who dont show any fighting spirit or defensive nous when facing better opposition. Winning is a mentality that left Arsenal when Wenger started his tiki taka experiment in 2005. The old Arsenal type counterattacking players like Gilberto Silva, Vieira, Manu Petit would have won a trophy by now even if Arsenal is financially hamstrung, but the tiki taka type midfielders that replaced em can't be relied to see off a game even for 45 minutes against Birmingham in Capital One Cup.

Roman Abramovich will take complete control of picking Chelsea’s next boss after complaining about being swayed into hiring Rafa Benitez.

The Blues owner regrets employing the ex-Liverpool boss as interim manager after being advised by technical director Michael Emenalo, who pushed hard for the Spaniard to be appointed.

Billionaire Abramovich had misgivings about the suitability of Benitez, who is hugely unpopular with Blues fans from his time on charge of Liverpool, but he was won over by Emenalo.

His plan was to appoint former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola in the summer.

Backfire

But Guardiola’s snub this week in favour of joining German giants Bayern Munich has left Chelsea and Abramovich with egg on their face.

The move for Benitez has backfired with inconsistent Chelsea’s hit-and-miss form this season.

This Emenalos input seems to be known by everyone except Nateevs.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/rafa-benitez-on-the-brink-at-chelsea-after-1585522

And while the Spaniard is not likely to be sacked yet – with fingers also being pointed at technical director Michael Emenalo for Chelsea’s unbalanced and under-sized squad – anything other than victory at home to Wigan on Saturday could see the trigger pulled.

That only increases the pressure on ex-Liverpool boss Benitez and his players, with matters not being helped by suggestions of a rift between him and Emenalo, who played a key role in persuading Abramovich to appoint the ‘interim manager’ in the first place.

When Benitez bemoaned the state of the squad – with injuries, suspensions and the Africa Cup of Nations – he only had 14 senior outfield players available for the trip to Tyneside – Emenalo is believed to have felt “insulted”.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 5:29pm On Feb 16, 2013
He has thrown Benitez under the bus to cover Emenalo, little did he know Benitez is the personification of Emenalos philosophy. Emenalo is certainly on the hook for recommending Benitez to bring the best out of the rubbish squad he built. Emenalo whose been recommending Benitez since AVB was sacked cannot extricate himself from his poor squad or the Benitez he claimed would bring the best out of it.

dayokanu: I told you over a year ago that if you pay attention to what Nateevs yarns here you would see a lot of holes and inconsistencies

His football knowledge is watery at best

What I notice is that he doesnt seem to have any conviction over anything he prefers to sit on the fence and the irony was that he accused FBS of the same thing he is the most guilty of.

Sauron in his stupidity one thing you admire is he sticks to his guns
Someone who praised Emenalo to high heavens for his signings is now engaging in "complete refusal" to apportion any responsibility for signing players to anyone.

He did not mention Tennenbaum, Bruce Buck or Mike Forde when he was praising the signings but now that shyte hit the fan and the squads holes are exposed, he started calling all their names including UEFA. Recently, he has also been downing Benitez but the same guy said he is sure RB would fix Chelsea's defensive problems and spent the first few weeks of Benitez reign quoting his every word and regaling us with the tactical revolution of Benitez 'vertical passes' that would profit Torres. Now he is throwing Benitez under the bus and shapeshifting again, so that his support of Emenalo and blaming of Benitez can remain intact. He even forgot that Benitez is the manager highly recommended by Emenalo to make his squad work. Emenalo and Benitez are inextricably linked. At the same time he is throwing Benitez under the bus, he is busy covering Emenalos back by naming Tennenbaum, Buck, Gourlay and Forde. Shapeshifter.

Of course you know Nateevs modus operandi of using grammar to distance himself from previously held positions which are proved foolish. The other day he was using grammar to argue with FBS on the fact that he is not Lampards biggest traducer on this forum. His shapeshifting tire me so I leave him to speak grammar
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 3:54pm On Feb 16, 2013
This guy is chatting shyte. I dont have his time.

We are discussing signing players and building a squad and the eediot distanced Emenalo from it because "Eugene Tenenbaum has Roman's ear more than Emenalo."

The same Eugene Tenenbaum who self confessed that he is not a football fan is the one this mumu is using to excuse Emenalos failings in building a squad.

What does Roman sending Eugene to fire Jose have to show that Eugene has any say on the playing staff that Emenalo buys and his failure to build a proper squad?

Last time this eediot was blaming Bruce Buck, Eugene Tennenbaum and using operational issues such as which exec Roman sent to deliver sack letter to excuse our Director of Football's failings.

With the amount of names this dude has been blaming as scapegoat for Emenalo recently, we can at least conclude that the squad is poor. . . . even though he will forever argue he has not conceded the point. . . .whilst looking for a million people and reasons to blame bar Emenalo.

Anyway I leave am to dey speak grammar. A-40, please continue with this fool. He is squirming under scrutiny whilst distancing himself from every argument he has engaged in this season. This is a typical season from Nateevs, chatting grammar after making a fool of himself all season.
