I think Rashidi was just trying to look out for kids who will go hungry just cause their parents are already used to the state catering for their feeding and can not/will not attend to their primary responsibility.

This is a bane of socialism although such socialism is still preferable to what is practiced in a country like Naija with no social safety net for the underprivileged.

The Govt have been sending them voucher during lockdown.

What Rashidi did is force the Govt to continue feeding them through summer holidays which has always been parents responsibility.

That scummy is responsible for a further deepening of the nanny state and entrenchment of personal irresponsibility.

Most of these families have multiple TVs, multiple PlayStations, latest Nike clothes and trainers, yet Govt should continue to spoon-feed them despite paying for all of these through the benefit system. A lot of these families parents will have an £9 smoking habit per day, yet Rashidi thinks they won't find £0.50 to £1 for lunch meal during summer holiday.

Below is the soup my children often have for lunch. We who often give our children £0.55p soup for lunch will pay more tax so Rashidi can give them £2.20 for lunch per day, while the parents are smoking £9 cigarettes per day.

Extending the scheme to summer holidays is highly questionable as parents have always had the responsibility of feeding their children in school holidays. Parents whose children qualify for free school meals already receive child benefit for the purpose and those out of work receive employment benefits. The amounts attributable to these benefits will easily take care of the basic food, entertainment and clothing needs of a family except the parents have drug or gambling addiction, at which point their kids should be in care. I supported the Govt initial decision not to extend the scheme into the summer holiday, and am disappointed that they caved in to the Scummie. This is encouragement of Almajirism.

First question, are you planning an armed robbery? If not, you should leave matters like above to justice campaigners. These niggas cases do not bother me any more than an armed robber in Nigeria getting shot extrajudicially by Police because armed robbery is not my portion so I cannot relate.

Whilst not ruling out bias in the judgement, one should be careful not to let these professional campaigners mess with your head and turn you into an angry man that can't succeed in life.

Firstly, the law has stipulations on the maximum you can serve for a charge. When you did the crime, anything they give you in that range, you cannot complain by pointing at someone elses sentence.

The main difference between the two cases you highlighted above is the white guy did a Tekashi and snitched on his 6 co-defendants and negotiated a good deal out of it.

Right now in battle rap, we have a case of a snitch called Ahdi Boom who is being accused of snitching to get 5.5 years while his coDs got 17 years and 13 years for keeping it real. All of them are black. You can also check differences in the sentences handed out to Alpo (of Paid-in-Full fame) and Wayne Perry from the same crew in Washington after committing over 10 murders. Alpo is enjoying his life while Wayne Perry is buried under the jail till he dies. This is one of the reasons we need to dead the "Stop Snitching" movement in our Society.

Second difference is showing remorse before the Judge which is linked to the snitching point above. Snitching and remorse go hand in hand as far as the law is concerned.

Third difference, the white guy was a junior partner in a robbery of drug dealers while the black guy committed two consecutive armed robberies on seperate days of legitimate businesses with two children aged 2 and 5 sitting in the back of the getaway car on both occasions, which is reckless endangerment of those kids.

I don't know which news stories you read to think a driver just above drink limit should be sent to A&E instead of arrest. You can lay your EMT thesis to rest. Nobody will be sent to Hospital at 1.35 times the drink drive limit unless other drugs are at play. Maybe you are not a drinker, but let me show you how far off your thesis is.

I cannot see a situation where someone on less than 3 times the driving limit will be sent to Hospital just for alcohol poisoning instead of being arrested for DUI.

There is police brutality in several parts of the world where gun control is not a problem. Even our Nigeria has police brutality just that we have all accepted that it is a jungle.
So to link the police brutality so closely to gun control is not entirely correct in my opinion. I don't see why lack of gun control is the reason why Chauvin was kneeling on George Floyd's neck for almost 9 minutes while his accomplices helped hold George Floyd's legs. Kneeling on Floyd's neck for a couple of minutes AFTER he became unresponsive mind you.

In the case of Chauvin, chances are he will get sacked and convicted and serve as deterrent to other Police in an ideal world without guns.

In the case of most shootings, they even keep their badge not to talk of conviction because it is easy to justify reasonable force where guns are involved. This further imbibes a feeling of impunity sef.

I bet even stüpid officers like Chauvin were encouraged in their impunity from seeing other officers get away with shootings, not knowing his case will be more easy to convict if he decides to kneel on someone's neck. If he wanted to get away with murder, shooting Floyd may have got him off.

A gun is a volatile and fast-moving catalyst that can almost always be justified.

Hundreds of thousands if not millions are arrested yearly so it is definitely exaggerated to assume your arrest will lead to your death and it is something to be avoided at all costs. Statistics don't bear it out. You just increase your chance of dying by resisting.

All these over dramatisation of events will only lead to more deaths as gees like Rayshard turn a simple arrest into a do-or-die situation.

In UK, we have 3 deaths by police per year in a population of 70million. Does that look like something I should concern myself about?

You are missing the point. A black man may get away with this, and a white man may get shot for less, although unlikely, other people's prejudice is not my concern so far they can't act on it to the detriment of my life.

The point is we can't wish away prejudice, it will always be there but this video is what will happen to all men in the absence of guns, so we can focus on more productive conversations for our people. You can't force every white man to love every black man anymore than you can force every Igbo man to love every Yoruba man. So all you are doing is pointing out the obvious, and all I am seeing in these videos is removal of the catalyst (guns) gets rid of the problem just like we have in the rest of the Western world (except USA).

That is not true and that is why they are called the Police... to serve and to protect...I am a citizen, not the police. They are expected to make good judgement, they know the option of an EMT, calling the family or driving him home is there..they are not regular citizens!!!

If the EMT was called for the man and the police arrived at the same time which do you think will take precedence? He was not harming anyone.. you could have approached it a totally different way.

Do you realize they asked for his drivers license and insurance to which he complied. Do you realize they ran his identity using his ID and probably found nothing on him? Do you realize a better trained and experienced cop would have approached the situation with the intention to help the young man instead of administering a sobriety test on a man drunk?

Guy, there was always going to be a sobriety test and an arrest. That was inevitable as the sun rising in the East. No trained cop will let a DUI go with a pat on the back unless for health reasons. The only problem with that encounter was the abruptness of the arrest. While watching the video I could see that this cop is devious and will drop the arrest on the guy like a ton of bricks after all that shalaye. What the cop should have done is explain kindly that it is his role to take him in if the breathalyzer comes back positive and not to worry that no harm will come to him etc etc.

Abeg let's bring the guy blood alcohol level so we can test the veracity of the EMT suggestion. A nigga with enough coordination to drive himself there, navigate a drive-through, perfectly grab a taser from another man's holster and run at good speed does not sound like EMT candidate.

Ask Afrodoc the amount of ridiculous reasons the EMT have brought people to the ER and you will hear stories you go tire and that is because no one, absolutely no one has the right to question the degree of your vulnerability or emergency.

Let me ask you, why do you think illegals use the EMT to the ER for a simple headache? It’s simple, they would not be questioned. Guess who pays for the bill? Tax payers because the illegals have no health insurance so taxpayers absorb the bills through numerous city taxes.

By the same token, I will tell you it is not the Police call to judge your fitness for EMT unless you are physically in distress. The guy was not in distress. The EMT argument is a red herring. An average cop will pull over or interact with dozens of drunks/drug users a week and they will only send a small percentage to EMT - those who are physically in distress. If they send this guy to EMT, that means the average cop will be sending every drunk they meet to EMT rather than the cells.

Before we discuss further, it is profitable to get his blood alcohol level (as discussed on the video) to ascertain whether his level of drunkenness done reach where water done pass garri.

Ibime you are construing the use of EMT in US.. Neither the police or anyone in America determines what and when to use the EMT! The EMT have been called for ridiculous reasons than helping a drunk man parked! If he was asleep in the drive through and a DUI awaiting, then he qualifies for the EMT based on your definition on the use of EMT which is wrong I should clarify.. Any one who lives in America can call for emergency help, in any situation where they are vulnerable.. no one present or on the other side will question the legitimacy of your vulnerability or emergent need. There is a reason why it is divided into emergent and non emergent numbers.

It's a grey area but the question for you is whether every DUI is automatically an EMT call. The country has a health service to run, not flood the hospitals s and Emergency service with tens of thousands of drunks per week at the expense of real emergencies. What you are stating is an anomaly and nowhere near policy. Even Afrodoc will quit practice if you start flooding his hospital with every DUI stop.
