A40:You keep bringing up incidents which would make me look like a Police apologist, but the fact is that in your state of outrage, you are not fact checking these incidents. I am not a Police apologist, just a factual non-emotive type of person who takes every case on its merit, knowing there are racists in every organisation and also incompetent people in every organisation. I would rather deal with facts each time. When you first brought up the above tasing incident, you linked it to racism, but the Police officers (who have been sacked and charged) were black. So is it racism, incompetence or police brutality, and in this case are you satisfied with the response of the Police Department in sacking them and charging them? I believe these things will always occur in a violent society like Yankee. When we should get upset is when justice is not seen to be done. If Zimmerman had been dealt with by the legal system, I don't believe we will be having this outrage over George Floyd because we would know for certain the cop would get his comeuppance in court. We can't expect everyone not to be racist (the fact Trump is President shows how racist that society is), what we expect is for systems to be in place to stop that racism affecting us, and punishment when it does. I believe that has been served to the officers in the incident you quoted above, even though their case is not racism but incompetence.

BlueRayDick:They came to an agreement. Niger Delta will burn if Buhari touches GEJ or Patience. GEJ allowed all his accomplices to hang to protect himself. Maybe GEJ also returned some money under the table |

A40:Once Olopa come with choppers and tactical units, all bets are off. I have seen them come with choppers for Mark Lambie one ol gee in my hood before. They lockdown my workplace, we were not allowed to move lest we get caught in something cos Olopa was ready to shoot anything moving that day. I have also seen what must be British version of SWAT team come for one guy before. The way they lockdown neighbourhood and were signalling, running from one hiding spot to another in pattern, signalling "cover me" and all that, I was wondering which kain gangster live in the neighborhood. The operation lasted 2 hours and I had to miss work that day. When they brought the guy out and he was doing stronghead even after handcuffing him, they gave him some good licks. When you see Olopa coming for you like you're Escobar and you start forming agidi and dragging with them, anything can happen bro. |
Greatihex:Likes I said, buy at any price below $5k and sell at any price above $8k. What it's doing now is just it's natural movement. It's actually lower than when we spoke. |
Neymar1095:And we have a new contestant in the Royal Rumble. This nigga did not even wait for countdown, just rushing in like egungun to Express. We need more of this. |

Godx:Well many European countries/Australia etc are successful at controlling that flow. They will just have to figure it out and Police it properly. Heavy prison sentences for gun trafficking will help in the first place. Nobody will want to do 25 years for trafficking a gun that will earn him $2k. Then gun prices will start approaching $10k and more. That's how you start to create scarcity, and then only serious criminals, not your average home invader will start owning guns. Declare amnesty and pay people good money for their guns they hand in, then give it a couple of decades and the number of guns in the county will be manageable, and probably only held by drug dealers, same as in Europe. The Mexicans have no incentive to ship guns for common Joe Bloggs, any guns they ship will be for their drug trade. |
Godx:No they won't. Govt Policy is all about statistics . If you create scarcity, the price goes up tremendously and only the most hardened and successful criminals will have access to them. Even those calibre of criminals will find more efficient use for guns than low level home invasions. Statistically you can easily do away with 90% and more of firearm home invasions. We have hundreds if not thousands of burglaries in UK per day and very few involve guns. |
Melvyn11:No. What makes you think you are better at wielding a gun than a criminal? It is better neither of you have a gun. If you create a scarcity of guns, the statistical probability of a criminal accosting your property with a gun is lower. Almost all UK burglaries do not involve firearms and on the rare occasion they do, there is less likelihood of a fatal outcome since the criminal knows you are not armed so he is in less danger himself and does not need take things to that extent. Melvyn11:Norway has one of the strictest gun control laws in Europe. Gun ownership generally around Europe is limited to Agricultural use, and the caliber of weapons is usually limited to single action non-automatic weapons. This is why we don't have the issues you keep seeing in US even though we may have some prejudiced police officers and citizens. |
donjazet:The problem is not much more grander than that. Almost every race on this earth have been enslaved at some point from Hebrews to Barbarians, Britons, Gauls, Indians, Visigoths, Chinese etc etc. Racism is not a new phenomenon and will not go away. The Romans enslaved and sold many Gauls, Visigoths and Barbarians. They are now called French, Spanish and Germans. When you hold your side as a people, nobody will mess with you. When you are a beggar, people will trample all over your rights. |
Melvyn11:If there was no 2nd amendment and the guy did not have a gun, it would have been a simple Police bust or simple case of Police raiding the wrong property. I disagree vehemently with citizens owning guns. Gun ownership is first of all a feudalistic mechanism in Europe for landowners to keep peasants at bay. 2nd amendment rights was simply created for Cowboys to protect themselves against Indian reprisals after stealing their land. Having dealt with the Indian threat, plantation owners then needed the idea of 2nd amendment to continue to help control and subjugate their slaves. The idea itself is borne out of racism and conquest and is an abhorrent culture in a society where crime rates are low. Where you have high crime rate like in Nigeria, you may keep a gun at home for safety but it is not a right, and definitely not an open-carry right like in some US states. Once crime rate goes down you abolish any right for citizens to own guns. |
Godx:Is this a Black Lives Matter or a gun control/ no uniform policy matter. We both know even from watching the Wire that if cops go into a property and gunfire comes back, it's anything goes when shots start letting off. Anything moving is likely to get hit. I keep saying that there is a big grey area between 2nd amendment rights and Black Lives Matter. If we focus on repealing 2nd amendment, Black Lives will start to matter. Any situation where 2 people are armed will often escalate, add in the fact that some police harbour prejudice (whether you agree with it or not) then what should be a simple situation will turn into a Police brutality situation. Take the case A40 brought up. The guy came to his door with a gun after calling the Police to a possible burglary. He saw the Police car pull up and still came to meet Police with a gun in his hand, then dropped the gun a few metres away. Is it racism for the Police to ask him to neutralise himself before carrying any conversation? No. Because that Policeman will get called to 100 such incidents in a year. He only needs to take one of them at face value to lose his life. The Police job in such a situation when both he and a civilian are armed is to give orders for the civilian to stand down and neutralise themselves. I understand given our history with racism, it will be difficult for a black man to hear such orders from a white man without taking it a certain way, but as far as I'm concerned, it is the Cop who gives orders in such a situation not the other way around, and regardless of the skin colour. It's not everything we must scream racism at. Let's deal with the real matters like this George Floyd case. |
nihilistjnr:Nah, not once in the video did George call the cop by name. There was no recognition between them What you have here is a cop who harbours prejudice and is overly aggressive with black guys. His egungun finally entered express that day |
nihilistjnr:She said if they had known each other, the cop despite being a racist would likely have shown some mercy instead of killing him. |
nihilistjnr:No they weren't. The cop worked there for 17 years and was known to be overly aggressive with black customers. George Floyd had recently joined the same company but they never worked the same shift together. |
The killer cops wife has filed for divorce. The part that caught my attention was that she is a refugee from Laos. Another thing that caught my attention is that a black cop, a Latino cop and Chinko were the other 3 officers on scene. The more you look, the less you see. This world is more complicated than just black and white.

Expert17:Glasgow na poverty town na. Edinburgh na sweet town. My sister used to live there. |
Expert17:Northern Irish wahala spilling into Scotland. Na Glasgow you dey? That's really the main place in Scotland where they do the Catholic/Protestant wahala. Other towns don't really care. |
A40:I don't see what's wrong in this video. If you are Police responding to an alarm and someone came down with a gun, what will you do different? Oga please put the gun down, turn around, get on the ground, let me know I'm safe first before I investigate any matter. You think Police should just go to every call out trusting that everyone with a gun is safe and a homeowner? I have said it, once you remove guns from Yankee situation, a lot of these situations go away. |
airmark:Good. They should easily prove the case and let the Judge hand out the maximum |
donjazet:Don't make assumptions. No doubt people experience racism but reading from books on the subject will only give you a heightened sense of it. If the book is about racism, then that's all the book will talk about. It won't tell you that people are human beings who enjoy companionship first and foremost. If I tell you my two black children were made sole heirs to a conservative supporting white woman in her late 50s who always complains about immigrants in her hometown of Folkestone, you won't believe it. And guess what, my wife only met her through work in 2010. Expert17, abeg what is your view on racism in Scotland? |
Many guys on social Media are complaining about the manslaughter charge on the cop and can't understand why he wasn't charged with first degree murder. This is why it's important to be calculative and not get too emotive on an issue. There is no court that would convict that guy on first degree murder as it wasn't premeditated or planned. He was called to an incident, completely ruling out premeditation. 2nd degree murder charge is also likely to fail as it would be difficult to prove it was willful intention of causing death. Manslaughter charge is the only charge that will stick. If they can get the FBI to throw in some Civil rights charges, hopefully they can extend the guys prison time and deliver some modicum of justice. Also the guy is said to have been the subject of 18 investigations. FBI should trawl through these including his 3 shootings to see if they can compound his legal woes. |
donjazet:Guy, reading about the history of racism and living in the midst of those who are supposed to be racist are not the same thing. Wetin Nihilist dey tell you be say you read too much and take what you read too literally. Don't think you are the only one to read up on the subject. |

Gundel001:Your brother unfortunately sounds like he has autism. It is not his fault, it's a disability that affects emotional intelligence, and the ability to connect with other people. It is usually described as the inability to read other people's minds. |
Roland17:Which part of my post blames them for racism? My post is clear - those bearing resentment for historical injustices and carry it in their heart will find it difficult to make progress. You cannot progress amongst people you are not at ease with. This is not blaming them for racism but commenting on the psychological aftereffects that have hampered their progress. As an African, I cannot take their heightened sense of repression into my own psyche cos they sent me here to make progress, not to count bridge. What is 'Babylon' to them is a place of promise that my people sent me to better my life. I will not join in mentally making this place a Babylon for myself. |
chic2pimp:Same as London riots, they start looting their own stores and those that provide employment in the community |
