I just checked up Milito's profile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diego_Milito. His birthday is on June 12. It seems someone is going to be having a Big Birthday Bash! ![]() |
This is a beautiful allegory. Thanks for sharing. ![]() |
Cheers . It's strange but my post is still not showing. I wonder why . . . |
At Post: It is often said that behind every great fortune there's a great crimeReally? Just hearing that for the first time. Anyway, its p a t e n t l y FALSE. |
babs787:Well said Babs. Only point is that Jews do believe in the Messiah. Only that they do not believe that Jesus (Peace be on Him) was the messiah. |
This may be helpful: 1. Understand the architecture of the microprocessor you're going to work with. Know the size of it's data/address bus (i.e. whether it's an 8/16/32 bit processor etc). You should also know the clock frequency of your processor. 2. Know the various addressing modes: immediate, register etc 3. Know the typical I/O that interface with the processor such as timers, ROM, RAM. You should understand how a processor accesses its peripherals 4. Know the registers of your processor. Processors usually have special-purpose registers (like the accumulator) and general-purpose registers. 5. Understand flags, zero flags, sign flags etc 6. Understand 1's and 2's complement arithmetic 7. Learn to work with hexadecimal and binary numbers. Be able to convert between them. 8. Learn to write pseudocodes, flow charts etc 9. Know the instruction sets for your processor like: mov, jmp, add, sub, goto etc. They may be different for your processor but the idea is the same 10.Finally, read as many texts as you can on the subject Good luck! |

Isn't it strange that Sam Sodje appears both on the 23 man list and on the Standby list? On that basis alone, this list should be dismissed. |
If we can have a Plateau North and a Plateau South that will be good. ![]() |
Iwu is not the problem. It will be naive for Nigerians, and the International Community (who campaigned openly for his removal) to assume that Nigeria's Electoral problems suddenly died with the removal of Mr. Iwu. Like disease, you cannot achieve health by removing the symptoms. Iwu is a "symptom" of a failed and diseased system. It can be argued that even Goodluck himself is a beneficiary of Iwu. Would Goodluck have sacked Iwu if the US hadn't specifically requested this? We don't know. Until we strengthen our institutions, and perform a system-wide overhaul of age-long worst-practices, we will have no respite from rigging, misrule and corruption. The destination is still far. |

Why are you guys stressing yourselves out? In my opinion, this statement is no different from Wole Soyinka's statement that Orisa worshippers should be allowed to see Yar'adua - in other words it won't happen. It's just something some people wish to see happen but know won't happen. An empty call. Unless, obviously, in the shocking, "news-breaking" scenario where new findings link the Pope himself to the perpetration of some of these acts. Relax guys ![]() |

pristjones:Yeah. She might have done the deed out of her profound love for her unborn child. However, it doesn't exonerate her from the charge of selfishness (to put it mildly) - for in saving the life of her baby she's endangering the lives of many others. |
@OP I for one believe that once a person is married, you remain marriedBetter change that thinking. Marriage is meant to be a source of happiness to both parties, but if after several attempts to reconcile a couple fails, if after several attempts to find a resolution fails, the best alternative will be to part. Many couples have divorced and gone on to have successful marriages elsewhere. Why deny them this opportunity? Many people enter into marriages based on lies and deceits which surface later, will you then bind the other party to a deceitful and abusive relationship just because "once you're married you remain married"? Will anyone here, object to divorce when s/he suddenly realises one day, that his/her marriage was one ghastly error? In addition to this, there are a lot of horrible things couples have done to one another other than infidelity. Marriage should never be a prison - for anyone. |

Instant and unexpected riches often end in disasters. And taking money that doesn't belong to you comes to no good. You guys can read this story to understand what I mean: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20100402/tuk-man-ruined-by-9m-lotto-win-dies-6323e80.html But then of course you're all joking right? I believe like good Nigerians you'll all instantly alert your bankers on your new financial status?! ![]() |
dexmond:Relax man, you don't have to shout We can hear you ![]() Very well said AIRDIG. ![]() |
"Why do Nigerian Students Fail Jamb Exams?" Do students from other countries write JAMB? Your question assumes Nigerian Students, in particular, have a very high failure rate at JAMB, compared to Students from other countries? Probably not what you mean. |
muhsin:Thanks. May Allah increase us all in understanding, amin. ![]() |
@KgDavid i still don't think that marriage to one's cousin is rightWell, it depends on where you're coming from. Cousin-cousin marriages are commonplace in other cultures. As an example, Einstein married his first cousin. And so did Charles Darwin. I'm just giving you notable examples. nor is marriage to a girl below the age of 18Not many years ago, it will be very odd indeed for an 18 year old girl to still be in her parent's house. Not to talk of thousands of years ago. The age of 18 is a "legal age of majority" which came about only recently. (This allowed a boy or girl attain a certain level of education before marriage - this didn't hold in the past!). It also allowed them to have a driver's license! Even in this present day, there are some countries where people can marry < 18 and legally. And not just Muslim countries. In the past, what determined a girl's suitability for marriage, was her biological maturity - or the ability to bear children. Boys got married, only a few years later. It's only nowadays that you hear a girl (or boy) say "Hey, mum I'm just thirty . . . isn't THAT too soon?!!!!!!!!!!" Back then, probably due to lesser populations and the generally more precarious living conditions, any physically mature member of the "clan", got married. And that's how mankind perpetuated to where it is today. |
@kgdavid Answer to your Question Zainab was the Prophet's cousin. The Prophet had adopted Zaid, a freed slave, and when he attained the age of marriage, he facilitated Zaid's marriage to his cousin Zainab. The marriage wasn't a happy one. Perhaps it was due to Zaid's former slave-status that made the marriage unhappy. Zaid sought permission several times from the Prophet to end the marriage. Afterall, he was the one that facilitated it. Eventually, Zaid divorced Zainab. The Prophet married Zainab after that. There's no irregularity. The marriages that are forbidden in Islam are known. In Islam "Adoption" doesn't establish a blood relation and doesn't make a person a father or a son in the real sense to another person. This used to be the opinion of the Arabs before Islam. As far as Islamic Law is concerned, "Adoption" is just an "artifact" where someone takes another person under his care and treats him as he would treat his biological offspring. It doesn't create any blood relation where there was none pre-existing. The only "adoption" that bars a marriage is "fostering". As it stands, Zaid would never have married Zainab, were it not for the Prophet. The Prophet facilitated it in order to establish equality in the Muslim community. |
sultan003:Even YOU, can create a Wikipedia account and write or edit anything. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia with several contributing authors from around the world. This is not saying the story is false anyway. But you shouldn't cite Wikipedia as an authority. |

Hmm, if the minimum wage is increased the salaries of the senior civil servants will increase as well. Very shrewd thinking indeed. Let them learn from the trials and tribulations of ASUU and understand that they're just dreaming! |
So it had to take another country to put an end to this drama? Nigeria still has a lot of growing up to do. |
Maybe we need to sack him again. The previous sack didn't work I guess |
money2ride:OBJ calls Clinton (who's recuperating from a heart condition himself), who calls Obama, who calls the Saudi King to locate the Nigerian President. Beautiful. We're expected to believe that this merry-go-round actually happened. |
Well, the constitution doesn't know anything like "First Lady". You're first lady so long as the President is around. Any perceived power that a first lady has is only because of her husband, who is the president. I only see a problem if Turai returns to Nigeria, and heads not to Katsina, but to Abuja. Should that happen, and she attempts to live in a public manner (pursuing some of her pet projects and attending programmes) THEN they'll be a problem. |
This country called Nigeria ![]() |
That should be Gekko. Check out his profile - https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-397486.0.html |
