tbaba1234: Based on today's performance, i think etebo's energy is important in the middle especially for tough games.
I hope we can get 6 point in the next two games, qualify and experiment in the last games. Which of today's player's energies would not be important in a tough game. We cannot have 12 players on the pitch. One person must drop. |

TheGoodJoe:
Iheanacho is definitely a better choice than Musa. His pressing and running makes him vital to us. Something he did very well today. Also, judge after few games.
You guys gave Ighalo ages and want Iheanacho out after one game. Iheanacho got into that position after impressing the coach in training.
In a less organised defence and out players creating chances for him, we can judge Nacho then. Seems u dnt get my point point abt Iheanacho. We missed his edge of the box movements today.Iheanacho attains his best potentials as an AM. |

Certitude: Only when we have either success or kayode. Not even these two can bench Iwobi. Success and Kayode should be tried in the striking position. |

Slimydude49: iwobi Is mostly likely to be dropped to accomodate nacho on the wings Hahaha. I dnt think so. Rohr knows the value of "big club players" in a team. He would rather drop Etebo. |

TheGoodJoe: Apart from the cross from Shehu, Iheanacho did not get any clear cut chance from the midfield. That was how organised the Algerians were. I doubt we can categorise that as bad. He makes more impact as an AM/SS. I fancy Success more in that role. We can even try Ahmed Musa as a CF in a friendly. |

joseph1013: Guys, we have to discuss o. Kelechi is not effective as a lone striker as seen in City and Eagles yet if he has to play as a SS, one of the guys in the midfield today would have to go (Etebo, Mikel, Onazi/Ndidi). How practicable is this?
cc: tbaba1234, thesupernerd, thegoodjoe, Michael2, goldfish80, icon4s, et al
I was not comfortable with Iheanacho as a lone striker. That boy is an AM/ SS. Even at City he does nt perform well as a lone striker. We missed Iheanacho today. Jst when Rohr thought he has solved the CF player problem he finds out that Iheanacho is not the right player for the CF job. To me Ighalo and Ideye are not any better. Isaac (the beast) Success could be the man for that role going forward. We need to bundle him to TB Joshua for deliverance from injuries first. I would like to see him and Kayode invited for the friendly(ies) in march. Iheanacho can go back to his number 10 role. Meaning Etebo will need to fight for a place as either a winger or CMF and that means more competition - what we always clamour for. |

Me make I no lie you ooo... With less than 6hrs to the game.... I am already feeling the tension.... Chaaaiiiii..... Super Eagles Fly! Score the goals! And make the Difference... Hmmm i feel you my brother. If u feel this way for this game how would you feel ahead of that last game in Algiers if we need a win or draw to qualify especially if Algeria is still in the contest. Just relax. No be do or die. Win, draw or lose life continues. Besides we still have 4 games after this. One thing i know abt this game is we will not lose. The worst is a draw. But i sincerely believe we can win the game as we have the slight edge of players form/fitness plus home advantage. The Uyo fans need to play their part. They must ROAR at every of our attacking moves. That usually has a way of causing panic in the opponent's defense. They will be making wrong passes and clearing out balls out of panic into our own players I have seen things like that happen several times. |

Nothing is certain yet but I am begining to incline towards the thinking that our forward line could look like this:
...... ........Iheanacho ..................Etebo Iwobi.................................Moses
Etebo could be switching positions with Iwobi intermitently.
chai! if these four players plus Mikel play to their potentials today, these Algerians will see fire and brime stone.
Time to offload Ighalo and Ideye they yaf tried. But now the potentials of this team have out grown them.
Isaac Success and Olanrewaju Kayode should replace them in the squad.
Kayode and Success should be invited for the March friendly(ies). |

Now it is time to throw our weight behind Rohr. We employed Rohr to make tough decisions. It is not easy dropping any player.
All the best to Akpeyi. It didn't come as news to me cos i so much expected it. U know i asked u the other day that "are u predicting Rohr's line up or are u proposing what YOU wish the line up to be?". Rohr is a "Big Experience" coach. U should know that by now. Besides, the reason he gave for not fielding Alampasu were the exact reasons we were try to pass across to u. Rohr is such a fantastic coach. He is already preparing our future goalies.Like Emmanuel Daniel and Dele Alampasu. I pray the NFF keeps extending his contract. We need him for the long term. |

TheGoodJoe: These are 16 - 17 years players. Owen, Rooney were known players within these ages. Yet, this ones are having this exposure now.
It is not only about winning. What of education? That is a big part of sports. This was a brilliant move. No, i say again. They are 15-16 yrs olds. And some may be 14. |
Sports › Re: THE NIGERIAN YOUTH AND CADET TALENTS/ PLAYERS THREAD (Home and Abroad) by Icon4s(m): 4:40am On Nov 11, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe:
I said, do not say a player is more experienced than another. Tell us who is better not experience. A player uses experience to get better. If another is better, he should start. Not selecting a player because he is experienced.
We are giving this young lads the experience to get better. When it is time for selection, select the better player. Do not use a vague criteria like experience to drop a better player.
I hope you get my point. U are just contradicting ur self. The other day, i asked u if Iheanacho is not better now than he was 2 yrs ago and u said something like "he is better but not bc of experience". When u say a player is better i wonder what u TheGoodJoe think are the indices to qualify a player as being better. No body is saying u should pick a player only bc he is more experienced than the other. After all the other day i pointed out that i would pick Iwobi and iheanacho over Aluko. I also said Success is currently better than Ighalo. U said now that "experience makes a player better". That is the simple truth but it also depends on the talent inherent in that player. The argument was on the goal keeping position. Akpeyi is a tested goalie and far more experienced than Alampasu. Akpeyi has never disappointed in the Eagles shirt. And u would prefare an Alampasu that plays in the 3rd division in Portugal who has never had a Super Eagles cap to be thrown into that Algeria game. I dnt care how u look at it Alampasu cannot do the job better than Akpeyi whether he is shinning in training or nt. Can he even co-ordinate that defense? |

The U20 have no tournament to play but they are exposed. They won the U17 World Cup. These ones have no exposure. Exposed to what? You carry a bunch of players of which a good number may not end up playing professional football to this kind of important tourney and you say its exposure. This is a total waste. |

Are you saying the 16 - 17 years players in Abuja FC will put up better performances?
The exposure is for them to gain experience. Not only to market themselves. It is a long-term project. Those boys are not up to 17. They are 15-16yrs olds. O what a wasted opportunity. And did I see u use the word "experience"? I must not see u use that word. |
Sports › Re: THE NIGERIAN YOUTH AND CADET TALENTS/ PLAYERS THREAD (Home and Abroad) by Icon4s(m): 9:24pm On Nov 10, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe:
The NFF will not disband them. The NFF showed innovation with sending this boys to this tournament. It is a long-term process. The NFF did not expect a team made of 16 and 17 years old to beat pros with players who have played in the Premier League and Champions League. It is a brilliant vision.
As for seeing Awaziem, Nwakali and Osimhen, it will bring bragging rights but these lads are exposed. We need to expose the players the NFF spent time and money discovering. We need younger players that will compete with the already exposed ones. So Solanke, Edjaria, Onomah and co are not exposed? If the soul aim of that Nigerian team to participate in that tourney is just to give those boys exposure then that is just a big waste. |
