At a point I can't "correct" them because it will lead to an argument so I just tend to keep it to myself or find those with like minds. Or i rather not reply some "insults" because it'll make me angry. It's just tiring. I'm glad I found this platform
All the above were all in my mind ooo. I am too introverted to even challenge them. I just go my way. Me too.

This is my problem too. I had a list of phones I wanted to get but I love going for classy things. Deep down, I wanted something that will be top notch so I kept on changing phones but my friends felt I was being indecisive, I ain't being serious and they shouldn't mind me, bla bla bla, especially when I made the decision of selling my phone towards exams period. I felt really bad. I've decided to keep mute over the whole issue because I can't continue explaining everything to people who don't understand me and are not willing to.
I tell you, they just feel like they can validate or condemn my decisions for me. Like, why do you do this like that? Can't you do it like this etc

I will like, for real? Are you trying to tell I am dumb? What do you know that I don't know? What is your level of education that I can't match or even surpass? Etc

Its just feels tough on me a times, what I have to face to be who I am.

Hello my people, I am so happy to find this lounge even though I have been on nairaland for a while.

I am an introvert, no questions about that. As a guy in early 30s, I have never asked more than 3 girls out for a relationship and I had never slept with more than 2 ladies, my wife and one other. It became so strong that my parents were considering matchmaking me, but I surprised them after I introduced my fiancee now wife to them.

I have a very brilliant mind, I enjoy being alone, indoors, not too much people around, have very small circle of friends and after school time, we are hundreds of kilometres or nautical miles apart now
I enjoy watching TVs alone, playing indoor games or video games.

But, I have a problem. Some people tend to think I am stupid or mumu cos I don't talk much and if I am not very close to you, I cant be free around you.

How do I make people see me as not mumu cos I don't talk or talk much?

How do I make them respect my decision or if I have not acted on something, not because I am dumb, actually most times its because I am intelligently considering major angle that they are too fast to think about or they had rushed their decisions and as a result overlooked or missed vital point especially at work.

How do I change their outlook?

This is because it has to do with work, if not as an introvert, I don't think I care much.

PoliticsRe: Amaechi Inspects Trains Built For Nigeria In China, Takes Delivery Of More by Idaytesj29(m): 8:17am On Oct 18, 2019
pharmagba:
They should have made it compulsory in the agreement that those locomotives be assembled here in Nigeria, this will definately create jobs, boost local industry that fabricates steel , and also ensure we have a ready service centre that can repair any fault that may occur both on short term and long term and we won't have to be running to China at every issue
The bad news is that for now we may have to. On anything that has to do with Technology, Advance Science and Hi-Tech , we just have to run to them. But we need to have an agreement that will allow for transfer of technology and knowhow, at whatever cost.

And we need to stop importation of food. We should be able to feed ourselves. May be then, improvements will start showing on the table of common man, cos whatever it is been done, if it does not affect the common man positively, its still a work in progress

FamilyRe: The reason Why I Will Consider My Dad First Before My Mom by Idaytesj29(m): 7:13am On Sep 28, 2019
pocohantas:
It shouldn't baffle you that many children consider their mothers first. People will naturally form a longterm bond with the person who has their back most.

In most Nigerian families, that person is usually the mother. Maybe because the father is out there hustling- when he is home and has time to bond with the kids, he chooses to be a tyrant. Some others are doing men are polygamous in nature. Then we have the set who are genuine victims of a manipulative wife.

I am closer to my dad and it didn't come in stages- it has been there right from childhood. It also has nothing to do with him paying fees, my parents trained me jointly to the best of my knowledge. However, my father built the bond, he was my go-to person. He wasn't out there making excuses and waiting to accuse my mum of turning us against him. That is what sensible fathers do.
I agree with 99% of your points, but the Tyrant part is somehow to me. Are you saying fathers who are disciplinarian are Tyrants and as a result won't bond well with their children?

Mehnnn! The comprehension level on Nairaland is super low!
When there aim is not to read topics and understand issue. They are not interested in the information or intellectual discussion.

All they are here to blindly support or criticise a leader, tribal abuse and bigotry, and recreate or awake decades old ethno religious tension among different ethnic groups in the country.

We are complaining about our present leaders, but the generation that I see now on nairaland waiting to take over mantle of leadership is worse.

XhosaNostra:
Lol, I have this thing...I'm not sure what to call it (an aura perhaps?) that makes people do & say weird things.
I cannot speak of social media experiences because I'm not big on that. However, I could write a book on the craziest things I've seen & heard in my waking life.

One time I was having a random conversation with a tattoo artist in my area. Out of the blue, he asked if I wanted to see his penìs tattoo & before I could grasp out a response, Jack was already out of the pulpit. It was just bizarre. I didn't find that particular incident annoying though. What I find annoying is the fact that people seem to feel (free?) enough around me to say & do inappropriate things. I'm not talking only about people I'm acquainted with (like the tattoo guy), but also random strangers I don't know from Adam. I've seem more penìses than a whòrehouse wench. Strangely enough, this didn't start now. We moved from my early childhood home because my father beat up a neighbour for exposing himself to me. I believe I was 8 or 9 at the time. It has happened so often that now I almost expect it & that's the annoying part of it.
Sorry about that, would you like to see something?

@Oga Gazzuzz, I use a 2006 Peugeot 206. I had a timing belt cut incident with my engine, my mechanic worked on it and I used it for a year and a half more before it starting smoking and eventually packed up.

Now, 2 months ago, I bought another engine, Tokunbo from Ladipo with a Citroen Sticker on it. It was fixed and I used Total Quartz 7000 for it. That's the first oil. My next servicing is next month and I plan to drain that oil (Quartz 7000) and put Quartz 9000 which is full synthetic oil.

My strategy is to use that 7000 to flush the engine and the use 9000 permanently as service oil for the car.

I'm I making the right decision?

Thanks as you respond.
Oga Gazzuzz, abeg advise me ooo.
