Im suprised u are worried abt transportation All u needed do was to call or mail them and state your case then leave the rest for them Anyhow,Goodluck. Good for her. jennykadry: Every woman is sexually abused
No woman would say she has never gone through sexual harassment. I am telling you that no woman would stand up and tell you that she has never been sexually harassed since she was born. It may not be by pushing one down and forcefully despoiling her. It is very common to see men making passes at you and expecting you to return their overtures. There is no woman that would tell you she has never experienced such.
Government should help us
The government and policy makers should look into this. They should have good punitive measures for despoil, battery and use of acid on women. In the developed world, they don't even wait for the man to touch you. Part of their laws says that if you make a woman uncomfortable, if you use words that make them feel threatened, you will go to jail.
It makes their women feel comfortable. I am looking forward to a Nigeria that would protect not just the women's rights, but also children's rights. If there are no serious punishments to serve as deterrent to those that do this, they would continue with impunity. @Bolded portion, she said so abi na journalist drop that one ? O ga n. |

kadman: Actually that's not always true, my friend did his youth service in one in Yaba, he used to tell me how their loaded family showered the care workers with cash when they visited and only came once a month. I believed when I visited him at work and was told there are several others in Lagos.
While I agree that the concept is not the most popular in Nigeria, the poster who said "they will never work" is wrong. . . .And if u check very well, some of those old folks dumped at care homes were parents that never had time for their kids. They were so busy chasing their career or whatever that they failed to give their kids the love they so needed. Now the table is turned. The kids have dumped them too, afterall, they grew up at creches etc hence they see nothing wrong with that set-up. |

Yes,I dont understand how u feel but im suggesting ways to let the pains and hurt die.I know it hurts, looking at everything u said u did for ur wife but sweetie,we are NOT perfect,we all have our weaknesses and moments of madness. You it seems, are seeing the slap as a sign of ingratitude for all u did for her but i dont think so.She lost her cool and reacted foolishly we all do once-in-a-while Nothing heals like forgiveness,Please forgive her. |
Crime › Re: settlnnnnnnnnnnnnn by ifyalways(f): 10:07am On Sep 28, 2010 |
Poster,u sound very bitter abt the slap and U have every right to be BUT please, find a way in your heart to forgive her . . .For the sake of the marriage and kids.2 wrongs dont make a right.Dont complicate things by scheming and thinking of ways to deal with her. Like shes prolly regretting her action(done under 2 seconds of craze and loss of self control) u dont want to react too and maybe later regret.Look at it as another mistake or weakness in your lovely wife and forgive her Biko. |

Arguments are bound to happen in any and every healthy relationship(parent-child,friend-friend,husband -wife etc). The koko of the matter is to be able to resolve every argument amicably, listen to the other person, try to see things from the next persons point of view, adjust ur stand to accomodate ur partner and finally arrive a conclusion peacefully. |

Just tell her u felt hurt and im sure she wud feel bad and apologise. Finally forget the slap and move on.Shit happens. |

Mukina Thank you. Lagosboy: Mukina2 or Jarus could you post this thread on th main page , if Ify doesnt have any objections. Perhaps Allah might guide others to islam from her story.
"Nairaland Curiosity that leads to conversion to Islam - Story of Ifyalways" This might be a good topic. others what do you think. No Lagosboy.Doing so wud corrupt the thread,we dont want to experience that Lagosboy: I dey here o abeg i was a bit busy and not on NL. Accept my apology
Now to books on veils , that book you layed your hands on i beleive is a good book on veil and there are a few others which i willtry to dig out for you inshallah. However , i would suggest to you to thread on a line of caution and read on other aspects of islam and concentrate a bit more on developing a strong love for God, purification of the soul and learning the basic "fiqh" to practise the five pillars of islam for a start.
The reason why i said this is i have seen some new muslim convert who fell unto the hands of some over zealous muslims and these muslims made them concentrate on outer appearance (niqaab, beard, clothing etc) alone and in the end sisters started to cover their faces without really understanding the other basic fiqh of islam like ghusl. In the end after few months the sisters got choked and took off not only the niqaab but even the hijaab. Some even turned their back on islam . The bulk of the blame was on the muslim handlers who did not develop them un the love of Allah , islamic spirituality before the other super ragatory acts like niqaab etc.
The veil as we all know is not compulsory on muslm women but what is compulsory is the hijab and not wearing figure hugging and tight clothing. Let us concentrate on the fiqh of salah, ablutuion, purification, practical women issues like mensturation etc and the seven conditions of the shahadah and we keep stepping up the knowledge inshallah.
As regards names there is an hadith that says the two most beloved names to Allah are Abdullah (Slave of allah) and abdul Rahman (Slave of the most Merciful). However any of the 99 names of Allah or other names are all good. If you wish you could name the twins Abdullah and abdul Rahman as Allah has showered on you the greates mercy he can to anyone which is guidance. Also the prophet was called by Allah "mercy to mankind". Thanks but theres really no need for alarm.Just like a newborn babe yearns for milk,im just yearning to know and understand more abt my Islam, when theres any conflicts or confusion,u know i wud come calling . zayhal: In as much as what you have said may be true and correct, I'd still say that you shouldn't discourage Ify on her inquiry about the veil.
We can never compare a Muslimah who wears the veil to those who don't just like we can't compare a Muslimah who wears the hijab to the one who uses only the headcover. If one wears it (veil), sincerely to seek Allah's face, then I'm in no doubt that she'll surely find it.
Moreover, wearing the veil doesn't prevent one from gathering more knowledge about the deen. The two (seeking knowledge and outward appearance) can and in fact, should go hand in hand.
@Ify
Abdullah and AbdurRahman, AbdurRahman and AbdurRaheem Habeeb and Khubabyb Mudathir and Muzammil Miqdad and Muadh We are thinking abt those . . .Thanks. muhsin: Salam IFY and all,
Muhsin sounds good, isn't it? Wouldn't you name one with it?
BTW, may Allah bless them, amin. Are they yours? Muhsin and what? Yep,They are mine. uplawal: All these trying to make it look nice is so wrong and does not agree with women clothing acording to SHARIA,Allah says wear bubu as in loosed gown, without style,so dnt try to say like not too tight, reveiling, and so on,all women should wear is tent Do u have pics of what u call "bubu" without style and Tent ? Thanks all |
