This is Igbanke language.
Igbanke people are Ikas found in Edo state.
So they are the most Edo influenced Ika people.
Yet their language remain Igbo.
How can someone come and say that Ika is a mixture of Igbo and Edo or mostly Edo.
That's nonsense.
Ika as far as Language is concerned is atleast 90% Igbo at the Igbanke (Western most Ika in Edo state) and 99% Igbo at Igbodo (Eastern most Ika).
Ika have the right to claim whatever identity they want, but you see that language they speak?
It's pure Igbo language! Period!

Passionnn:
The language spoken in Ika is far far removed from the Igbo language. It's not even a dialect of the Igbo language. In Delta, we call them Delta Ibos because they are part of the Delta North senatorial zone. The true Igbos in Delta are those from Oshimili and part of Aniocha and UseleUku.
Stop writing nonsense.
The language spoken in Ika, even as far as Igbanke in Edo state is pure Igbo language.
The words are 98% Igbo and any Igbo man from SE especially from Anambra/Imo states, understand Ika easily and they understand us too.

Ika is a dialect of Igbo.

In Agbor they have one village called Oza-nogogo, those are the only Edo people in Ikaland and they speak an Edoid language totally unrelated to Igbo.

Ika can be whatever they choose to be, but the language they speak as mother tongue, is atleast 98% Igbo words.

It was also this disposition to be seen as nationalist and to not be seen to be championing anything that is strictly Igbo that made Obi run away from APGA immediately his tenure as governor elasped and rushed to PDP where he was frolicking and galivanting with GEJ all over the place.
Obi had a chance to stay in APGA , be it's grandpatron and build it to become a truly formidable Igbo party that could through quality leadership take over the rest of SE states and unite them as one, thus providing us with that sorely missed pan IGBO attitude towards national Politics and interactions with other Nigerians.

But God forbid that Obi be seen to be championing an Igbo nationalist cause. Obi in his now usual nature of avoiding pan Igbo ventures shirked away from that responsibility and ran to PDP where he can be seen as a Nigerian and not be tainted with APGA Igbo flavor.

In conclusion, while Ndiigbo continue raving about Obi, we must all look before we leap.
The past antecedent of Obi doesn't portray that of a man who cares about Igbo marginalization or for equity and fairness for SE.
If you are an Igbo and you are supporting Obi because you are hoping he can finally reverse some of the national policies instigated post civil war that has worked against the Igbo, I would admonish you take a closer look at Obi past history.
He might not be the man we are looking for.
Politics › Re: Can Ndiigbo Truly Trust Peter Obi? by Igboid(op): 5:17pm On Jun 13, 2022
I'm not a fan of Simon Ekpa, but he truly has a point.
His voice and opinion about Obi is currently a minority one in Igboland, but can we all pause a minute and take a closer look at it? Perhaps he has a point.

What if we all drop Biafra and jump on Obi wagon, and it turns out that Obi is only Igbo just by name, and we suffer even worst discrimination in Nigeria, or we don't have our marginalization addressed because Obi was too eager trying to be a nationalist and not be seen as pro Igbo as he has always done all his life.
Can we have the strength to go on with our Biafra agitation while Obi remains president, or worst suspend it, endure the marginalization so as not to be seen to be rocking a so called Igbo man regime?
The later scenario will make us look hypocritical before the rest of the world, because our renewed Biafra agitation post Obi would then be seen as a blackmail against the new regime.

Politics › Can Ndiigbo Truly Trust Peter Obi? by Igboid(op): 5:14pm On Jun 13, 2022
While it sounds good to have an Igbo man as president of NIGERIA, the big question though is: Can Ndiigbo trust Peter Obi.

We can all recall vividly how Obi dealt ruthlessly with MASSOB in Anambra during his era as the governor.
It is true that MASSOB got derailed and degenerated into nuisance to Ndiigbo all over Onitsha.
But does that justify the high-handed nature Obi handled them?
It was during Obi tenure that we all woke up one morning and saw tens of lifeless bodies of young Igbo men floating in Ezu River that up till today, no one has given a concrete explanation on what truly transpired.

Obi has shown the penchant to deal mercilessly with Ndiigbo in bid to prove his one Nigeria disposition, because deny that all you like, that Ezu event Happened under Obi watch as the chief security officer of Anambra state. The buck of the blame stops at his office. He can't fully wash his hands off it.

As a matter of fact, I have never seen Obi show support to anything that has to do with Biafra or Igbo nationhood, he has always cunningly avoided getting involved, always eager to be seen to be a Nigerian nationalist.

I understand the Euphoria sweeping through Igboland over Obi emergence, but we must take a break and think about this thing.
Could it be possible we are supporting a man who is only Igbo just by name and not by mindset or even disposition?
A man who would be eager to kill our Igbo youths and dump them in Rivers or simply look the other way while the Nigerian military do so, just because our youths are pro Biafra?

Wike sowed the seeds of injustice against SE, and reaped the whirlwind of Northern domination.
He should make peace with that.
If any one should be crying about the outcome of PDP primaries, it should be SE and not Wike and SS.
22 years of undivided loyalty of Bloc votes is what SE has given PDP.
Yet not for once has the party repaid back this debt.
Wike and SS have enjoyed the dividends of PDP support twice( 2011 and 2015), SW didn't support PDP in 1999, yet OBJ their son was rewarded by the Party that year and again in 2003.

What did you expect Obi to do?
Start sharing 50k Dollars like Atiku and Wike were doing to buy delegates?
Atiku and Wike are spending government stolen funds, Peter has no such stolen funds to waste. He made his Money through genuine business. No one who made his money genuinely would spend the way Atiku and Wike spent in this primaries.

Additionally, take a look at the distribution of the delegates.
Even if we remove the cash and carry Politics from the equation and narrow it down to South vs North, the North will still win, because they have more delegates.

Common sense is lacking in SW and SS.
Common sense shows that the only way PDP could have produced a Southern candidate was by zoning.
And if you are coming to justice, you must come with clean hands.
SS and SW both having enjoyed PDP presidential candidate victory twice were in no position to ask for zoning to their region.
They knew that SE was the rightful place to ask for zoning, but they weren't ready to let that be.
So they were playing hanky panky games by screeching zoning to the SOUTH!

Atiku coming also from a zone in the North that haven't enjoyed PDP primaries victory rightfully demanded that any talk of zoning in the South should be for SE only. This alone made Wike and co happily jettison the talks of zoning because they reasoned they could stand on injustice against SE and Battle the North and still win.

Well it backfired! As it was always going to be.

See listen carefully. As things stands, until SW and SS Political elites come together and accept that SE gets justice and fairness by rallying behind SE presidency, there WILL never be another president of Southern Nigeria extraction until SE has had our turn.

We WILL make sure the North rule for eternity, if need be.

But Wike and co stood against such arrangement.
So Atiku decided that if there is no zoning to SE, then there is no justice and everyone should be able to contest.

Wike betrayed and sabotaged SE out of PDP ticket. SE owed him nothing, but the greedy and visionless PDP leaders in SE were more than happy to cash out on Wike , having realized that it was impossible for a Southern candidate to emerge without the North withdrawing from the race.
Had he stood for equity by insisting on SE zoning, Atiku would have been forced to back down.

It's an open secret that Makinde of Oyo state fought for Wike aspiration but also I'm not sure Obaseki from ss supported the Southern agenda..

But all I know is that South betrayed wike unlike their Northern counterparts
There was nothing like South.
SS where Wike came from have already been nominated for PDP candidature at the primaries twice (2011 and 2019) and at each time with massive support from SE.

SW has also enjoyed PDP primaries win twice (2003 and 1999).
If anyone should be feeling betrayed, it's SE aspirants who were not only betrayed by Wike but also by fellow SE delegates who were bribed by Wike and worked for Wike.

Don’t be clever by half. Fayose and makinde supported Wike in line with south presidency agenda. SE politicians worshipped Atiku with their votes. The records are there.
Liar.
No time did Makinde and Fayose openly supported Wike.
Show me news article where they did.

It's on record that Wike bought PDP SE and their delegates. Anyanwu in Imo, Chris Uba in Anambra, Ikpeazu in Abia and Ugwuanyi in Enugu all were bought and worked for Wike against Obi and other Igbo aspirants.
Only Ebonyi delegates rejected Wike dollar rain and stood with Anyim Pius Anyim.

Yoruba delegates probably voted individually for the highest bidder between Atiku and Wike and had no consideration whatsoever for any southern bullshit, like you did in 2015 presidential elections.

SS delegates voted Wike
SouthWest delegates voted Wike

All in line with Southern presidency agenda

South East voted Atiku.
We are watching.
What is the evidence that SW delegates voted for Wike?

Did any SW governor openly campaign for Wike like Gburugburu and Okezie Ikpeazu did?

Anyway, SE owe SW and SS nothing since both groups have insisted on no zoning to SE.

Dream on boy.... South south is not Southeast... South south don't vote by emotions.... No northerner has won against southerner in the southern mid region ....
N.b atiku will pick his vice from se .....
So SS will forget your role against GEJ in 2015 and vote your son Osibanjo ?

I'm not from SS, but I don't see how that is possible.

From what's on ground, Peter Obi, Ihedioha and co are fully GEJ allies and will do the job for him.

Real igbos already know they have no place in the current Nigerian political sphere and will support GEJ instead of another northerner or south westerner.

GEJ is really loved here, forget online sentiments.

Btw, PDP did more harm to ndi igbos considering what we suffered for them. So Atiku should bear the rejection and revenge.
Keep deceiving yourself.
