19. “The people of Ahoada, a Division of which a pan runs down to meet Port Harcourt, appear at one time to have favoured the idea of a Rivers state, but have changed their views and before us expressed themselves as strongly against it. Comparatively few of them live in the low-lying swampy country of the coastal strip and they have voted for the NCNC consistently, they said themselves that a main factor in their change of front had been the inclusion if the Western Ijaws in the proposed state. So long, they said, as the Rivers state was to consist of the River Province only, the Ibos would have been the most numerous tribe within it: but the inclusion of the Western Ijaw Division put them at a numerical disadvantage beside the Ijaws and they therefore preferred to stay out. Whether or not this was a line of reasoning that really had a wide appeal, the fact remain that before us they were opposed to the idea of the state. This is not surprising because their problems are different from those of the ijaws.”
20. “To include within a River state Ahoada and Port Harcourt, would, we believe, create a problem as acute as that with which we were asked to deal at present and and would be sharply resented by the Ibos of the central plateau.” |

I'm an Edo girl...I don't know y you people just want to force this your ideology on people..na by force for people to join....do a quick survey and you will find out most of the people you are talking about don't even want to join... Just because you have some similar culture with Igbo's does not make you one..just because I have some similar culture with Yorubas does not make me one.... When we you people understand that Nigeria is more than Yoruba..Igbo..And Hausa/Fulani Stop talking thrash. You are Edo. Why not stick with your Edo and stop trying to attach to Igbos in SS or make them hate their brothers in SE? Igbos in SS and SE don't have similar culture, we have same culture. No Igbo in SE cares about whatever Edo has going on with Yorubas. Just stay in your lane and let the Igbos in SS be. |
Politics › Re: Any Restructuring Of Nigeria That Is Not Regional Based Is A Waste Of Time by Igboid: 11:16am On Jun 18, 2021 |
Good suggestion. The current states must be dissolved and Igbo groups trapped in the misnomer SS given choice to join Igbo Region as well as Igbos in NC. The remaining minorities can continue with their SS. The Yorubas in NC would be given chance to join the Yoruba region while the Minorities in NC stay together. Within the Minorities Region, each ethnicity will have an autonomous province of their own and each province would have 100% resource control. For example, Ibeno or Obolo oil will belong to them and them alone and not controlled by hinterland Annang and Ibibios. The Ikwerre will not control Ogba oil wealth to build up Obio-Akpo LGA and KELGA. I think this is the real restructuring and resource control. |

I know the trick you are trying to play.
You can't argue based on facts, so you insult people in order to derail the thread. When that fails you try and derail the thread by talking about other things (as you did in your previous post). When that fails you try and shift the goalpost (as you are doing now).
It's all a waste of time. I'm only moved by superior reasoning, not all these childish games.

WrittyWritter: south south people.. I don't know y people feel the need to make us be under one of the three major tribes...We don't speak Yoruba..we don't speak Igbo..We don't speak Hausa..We all have different culture.
I feel the creation of the south south region was actually a good thing..we can be different together.. Because we till have different cultures and speak different languages..Na pidgin be our common language There is no ethnic group called "SS people", stop being silly We have Igbos in SS who are still one with those of us in SE. So when you say SS is not one with SE. It's important you mention your ethnic group, because there is nothing like SS ethnic group. Enuani Igbos in SS are still one with Igbos in SE Egbema Igbos in SS are still one with Igbos in SE Ndoki and Asa Igbos in SS are still one with Igbos in SE. So next time, do well to represent your obviously tiny and probably insignificant ethnic group in SS and not try to hide behind SS tag that still have significant proud Igbos in it to spin your Igbophobic sweeping statements. We( Enu-ani in SS Delta North) speak Igbo. We ( Egbema in SS ONELGA Rivers State) speak Igbo We( Asa and Ndoki in Oyigbo LGA Rivers State) speak Igbo We (Isobo in Obubra LGA of Cross River State) speak Igbo. But you an Isoko, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw, Ikwerre, etc don't speak Igbo, hence can only speak for your own group. |

Sincinnati: Don’t say this bro.
We should be cautious of the kind of comments we make in public to avoid been seen as people with no restraint.
The effects of Vandalization of gas pipelines is not the same as Crude. Where do you think UGM has been more active in Owerri, Imo State capital than any other place?
All these katakata in Imo, Anambra and Abia States have a very big political undertone connected to the topic of discussion here.
Currently, the Fulani government of Nigeria is ahead of the South East in this game of socio-economic shenanigans.
We have to pipe down, allow the development of this gas production facilities with severe monitoring from an uncompromisable team. When all these is done, then we sit down and discuss how this development benefits people of interest.
We have to come together now or never! More importantly, We Igbos have gone beyond the struggle of groups like IPOB and all its factions. A people of about 50 million should put up political resistance group more sound than IPOB. Their tactics will only leave us in regrettable ruins. Diplomacy and a touch of astute pressure groups and maybe a very well trained guerrilla group if necessary, will be better than the tactics being deployed by IPOB.
We cannot destroy our lands because ordinary Fulani and Hausa man wants to tap out gas. We are more sophisticated than these people, we shouldn’t destroy ourselves because of them.
Peace. Nnaa. That gas will not be siphoned without BIAFRA coming into existence first and foremost. That's how it should be. Everything else you say will only be an addition. |

Fejoku: Now you're talking. We in IPOB are not foolish. Give your advice and notify us of your observation but not those your negative criticism. We know how to deal with such situation. Do some of our Ijaw cousins seriously think that path will really help them? Some verified Ijaws on NL are still toxic despite the reality facing everyone yet all they harbour remains this inexplicable hate for Igbos. It is what it is and can't be changed but we won't because of them refuse the current outreach approach we have. It's left for the whole Ijaws to decide. Igbos have paid the price already and our freedom is at hand. Nigeria can never recover from the current ditch she has fallen into. The Ijaws who wish to pitch their tent with the terrorist fulanis will be the once to suffer it when we are gone. We won't be of any help to them when fulanis fall on them. The principle of seed and harvest must have its way. Anyi ji ofor jide ogu. Why do you need Ndiigbo to tell you of Ijaw plans? Are their plans not obvious? Modern day Ijaw nationalism is built around Harold Dappa and Boro principles and worship. And what are these principles? The general belief that the Arewa are their protectors against Igbo Boogeyman and that alliance with Arewa must Always be favoured over any alliance with Igbo. Boro day is celebrated everyday in Ijawland. IPOB has to accept that Ijaws are nothing but aggressive expansionist neighbors. They are not brothers or cousins as some of you want to refer them as. These lots are Arewa Trump card against us, like a Vassal they have right in our backyard. The Ijaw Igbophobia is not inspired by Arewa. Far from it, they (Boro and Harold) only realized the ancient saying: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. They see us as enemies and naturally sought out and formed a permanent alliance with our enemies. You can't be fighting for BIAFRA which pitches you against Arewa who Boro and Harold projected as protectors of Ijaw people, and expect Ijaw people to join and support you. IPOB are obviously not thinking things thoroughly. Ijaws see the Arewa as their sole protectors against the Igbo, aka Ijaw Boogeyman. And you stupidly feel they will join you and remove their protectors from them, and and have themselves trapped in same country with the Boogeyman? Why is it too hard for you IPOB to see things from Ijaw perspective? And No! You can never convince them that you are not the Boogeyman. Don't even try. Telling or trying to tell them to accept you are not the Boogeyman is like you insulting their parents and calling them liars. That's even more proof to them that you are up to some sinister plans. This is not a battle you can win. The only way you win is by letting these people be. We have been shouting this from rooftops since 2015 till now. |

Anytime anyday I would vote in a referendum for a Niger Delta Republic where every tribe is a minority than to be in Biafra where one stands the chance to be margibalized.Though I doubt there would be any referendum on our side of the Niger since there is no agitation for secession even though people are not comfortable with the statusquo. Fejoku: You put it down simply for anyone to understand. Those who know Igbos very well know that we call off people's bluff easily. Igboland has all it will take to make us a great country yet those of us in IPOB see that bigger picture. If we dismiss off the other smaller tribes of the AS and go alone, it will still return to hurt (not hunt) us. We have a lot of our blood brothers there who's current foolishness can be so exasperating yet we remain resolute bearing the pain because we see ahead. If for any reason we go without them (non-Igbos of the Niger Delta), they will be wiped out. It's very clear for everyone to see except them. The role Igbos are playing in Nigeria currently is too much. The balance of power we bring is very evident yet others who are suppose to help us win and bring safety for all prefer to play politics with it. The sahelian terrorist know this that's why they're working day and night to strengthen themselves further while our own cousins and neighbours are still toying with the situation neither strengthening themselves nor weakening the current terrorist government. Destinies are being designed currently but those that should most concerned think it's just politics. There is no middle ground currently which a lot of Yorubas are just realising. If you don't want Biafra, start fighting for your own country. Don't remain silent and indirectly aid the common enemy. I'm in most Ijaw forums. Their thought is that once Igbos open the floodgates of seccession after years of sacrificing our own blood, they(Ijaws) will use that window of opportunity to declare their own independence too. And if the Igbo fails, they would rekindle their relationship with the Gambaris and try to expand more into Igbo territories. IPOB must be aware of these lots plans and make sure to thwart them. |

OfoIgbo: Infact the report that claims that Anambra has about 30 trillion cubic feet of gas, is nearly twenty years old, and I don't think much has been done in that area. Otherwise that Anambra reserve would have officially tripled or quadrupled by now.
The authorities are hellbent on ensuring Anambra is not seen as both an oil producing or a gas producing state.
Igboland possibly controls more than 90% of Nigeria's gas reserves.
Another very important detail being that Nigeria's gas reserve are possibly more than double Nigeria's oil reserves It doesn't even have to be more than those of OUR OYEL people. It just has to be very substantial and we are good to go. Any attempt to put gas pipeline and siphon the gas to gods know where will be sabotaged by pipeline vandalism. That gas will be used to develop Igboland and Igboland alone. We finally have a big bargaining tool! |
