I got caught up with something on my neck in my neighboood recently.

There's this woman (A) who bought a sewing machine from one woman (B) 9 years ago, suddenly woman B just came from nowhere to come and claim the sewing machine that she sold years back that she only use the machine as a collateral from woman A that she didn't sell it for her.

Now the issue is Woman A has sold the sewing Machine and also insisted that if truly woman's (B) use it as collateral for how many years now she would wish if Woman B paid her back with the interest on the money which the money is way much more than money for 100 sewing machines.

Now questions is, how will I go abt it cause I happened to be one of the landlords in my area( I guess I am the youngest) and we are called to come and judge over the matter.
1. Woman's A doesn't posses the receipt of the sewing machine and as already sold the sewing machine
2. Woman's B want the machine at any cost claiming she has the receipt with her and she will use it against woman's A in court ( If the judgement didn't suite her taste in landlord meeting)


Note: They've gone to police station around early February which they've told woman's A abt the important of receipt and also let it known to woman's B that collateral shouldn't be more than a year and after that the person you borrow something from might as well claim the ownership what you use as collateral (Don't know maybe there's any law backing it though)

Na poverty cause all these one. Fighting and going to court because of sewing machine of 9years ago for that matter. Can she even competently prove that she gave out sewing machine as collateral? Any written documents or they are both just frustrated and looking for ways to vent.

Well 52k with 2 kids - feeding, paying houserent, school fees and all other things is not a joke, it's not enough simple. She will barely get by.

The minimum wage in Nigeria is 30,000. There are many private organisations that pay much less. There are many families being owed salaries for months both by government and private companies. Some of these families are more than 3 in number and they have not died. OF COURSE i know and agree that it is not enough but it is the reality of the condition. You should not spend or borrow above your limits.
This is financial wisdom 101. Even people who earn more don't have debts of 700k, this is definitely trying to live above your means.
She can cut down house rent and school fees by changing accomodation and school. No one's destiny is tied to a particular house or school.
Tough times don't last but tough people do. She has to be tough and disciplined on feeding too. Unfortunately, they can't eat the same things they were eating before. Either find cheaper or less for the mean time.

I don't subscribe to Christians playing secular music or dancing to it as a norm. But I believe that there are decent secular music that may not sound immoral or vulgar for a Christian to dance to on such occasion.

i think rather that the newly wed spoilt the event. The day belongs to no one but God, it is not daughter or father or son's day. Playing devilish music does not communicate the gospel either or add any blessings or joy to the marriage, so why play it? Why should the parents be subjected to hearing craziness by force because they are in their own children's reception? Jesus' miracle at Cana has nothing to do with this, it glorified God, this does not.

It is the best gift that we are told to covet earnestly in 1Corinthians 12. Like i said, i understand your point that it is not one of what we commonly call the 9 gifts of the Spirit but among the Fruit of the Spirit. The Fruit of the the Spirit are themselves gifts from God.

A "called" pastor to pick another call? No. An administrative pastor can be a politician, though any Christian in politics is likely to get his hands soiled. It's the way it is. There are true Christians in government all over the world though.

Nope, saying something is different from being something. Does the church believe all the books of the Bible as God's Word? Do they believe that believers should be saints/perfect like the Bible says? Do they believe in how the Bible says to live, dress, work, pray, worship etc? That's the meaning of Bible believing.
