toluxa1 A certain you on post 7 talked about 'proper Bible study and comparing scripture with scripture. That you later commented on babes in bible study. But now, scriptures shouldn't be produced to support what I'm saying, seeing it disharmonises your views. You're one funny set. That's why I loved this thread. Was Joshua an alien, not a man, when he CHOSE with his family(we will) to serve God. I just read your 'long post', I hope you've been reading mine? We are not zombies, we are created in God's image. We have a will(WHOSOEVER WILLS,let him take the water of life FREELY).revelation 22 |
Bigbashiru You say you are an agnostic, then neutral? And you call others enemy of the cross? Are you joking or on medication? And the passage I quoted is irrelevant? Little wonder you ooze contradictions. You have little or no say in this, for you know not what to say |
toluxa God's salvation plan for mankind? Are you on nairaland at all? There are threadS on that already. Perhaps, you could help THEM discover something maybe. BTW, I thought we were discussing about AFTER salvation, can it be lost or not. Not how can it be obtained. 5solas I said John was writing in retrospect(looking back). I didn't say Jesus was speaking in retrospect |
5solas It's actually possible to 'unkeep' one's self. It's like one has been provided for and protected by a bigger body(government/parent). That person can still suffer himself or harm himself physically despite the security measures in place. Some say that the dog that will get missing doesn't listen to the hunter's call. Jesus says I am with you always but fact remains that the sheep can stray away of his own will. The master never left, the sheep left. Jude 21 'gives me some water to hold' by saying "KEEP YOURSELVES in the love of God." No doubt, God wants to keep and CAN keep, but we've got our little part to play |
viaro Yes there are lot of questions but fortunately lot of answers given by God as well. I think Matthew 19v28 captured the 12thrones analogy better. "Ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel." In all, I believe the biggest lesson still comes from the mouth of Christ. He says what I say to you, I say to all, WATCH. Whatever side of the divide, we should not be careless or lascivious with God's grace as some boldly proclaim. Blessings |
I was reading John 15v7. He said 'If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. I'm thinking 'if ye abide in me', it means then that it is possible to decide not to ABIDE. Ordained yet deciding not to abide. I'm thinking hey; 1. What's the point of evangelism if a sect of people are already 'chosen/ordained' as you call it. (What they should enter the kingdom anyway, are they not ordained to?) Why go and preach the gospel to EVERY creature, or every can mean 'not all' as well. |
Ah, this was one thread I was enjoying. Don't die thread, you shall not die |
^my bad, sorry. Was I dreaming or was I busy meditating on the size of the tabernacles? Jesus knew prior the ONE. But betraying him or denying him do not rule out the possibility that they were saved before these actions. Salvation is believing in Jesus, the 12disciples believed in Jesus and they were assured of a place in the kingdom, judging the 12tribes. I won't like to expound salvation more.( We observe the possibilities of such in the thread yonder) |
I'm inclined to 'believe' that 'demons' have taken over some 'christians' mind for hia. |
^bla bla bla. Tithe, the way to go! Go and read and pray and repent and fast kunle. ![]() stop accusing of whatisnot |
^bla bla bla. Tithe, the way to go! Go and read too kunle |
Viaro Welcome back from where you went. is it me or did someone else notice that a 'one after the order of viaro' shows up anytime you take a leave? Should we wish for more disappearances or build 3tabernacles right away. Good to see you back though.I've seen John 6v70,71. I like to note though that John was writing in retrospect. I know ONE was a 'devil', but I'M NOT SURE the exact one was known prior. |
To other issues, 2Corinthians 13v5: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith. Here, believers are told to check up. Why check up if it's impossible to lose salvation. More specific is Ezekiel 18v24.edited But when the righteous TURNETH AWAY from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: in his sin shall he die. Verse 25 gets it more spiced up. |
In John 17, Jesus Christ prayed that his disciples be kept. Why pray for someone to be kept if it's not probable/possible to be 'unkept'. Jesus in the same chapter spake of the disciples(including Judas) as out of the world. Verse 6 thine they are, they HAVE KEPT my word. Another verse says none of them is lost but one. Evidently, he was found before getting lost. |
1stly, let me say that Judas was saved. He was numbered with the apostles. Jesus said he had a place in heaven, judging the 12tribes of Israel. Acts 1v17. He was NUMBERED with us, and HAD OBTAINED part of this ministry. He had a 'bishoprick'. This passage alone refutes youR claims that one cannot lose salvation. Judas lost it, brother. |
nuclearboy I'm not going to get into this tithe 'tussle', at least not now. You go and read your Bible, all of it. You may start with Hebrews 7 for example. |
I noticed that evil men/unsaved people, unbelievers usually do not understand God and His ways. They do not understand the judgement of God. This is truth and fact. They think that they do, they are quick to dismiss it as unfair, wrong, even evil. God's Word is saying evil men understand not judgement. This is their default position, and seeing how a typical man hates(is lazy to) change, majority of them remain that way, without understanding. But thank God, they that seek the Lord understand all things. It doesn't say those that are born again or even those that are spirit-filled. Precious things are usually hidden. Explore, seek the Lord. On every single situation you do not understand, seek the Lord. He that seeketh findeth. You'll find in Jesus' name. |
April 29 Proverbs 28v5 5. Evil men understand not judgement: but they that seek the Lord understand all things. Ever had to teach or speak to others on a very convenient/familiar topic? You may then have noticed the 'enthralled' gaze of some. You should also notice that their captivation was not necessarily a function of their age, gender, tribe or education. They can be older than you, more educated or experienced than you, could even be a colleague who is supposed to be on the same level with you. But the crux is that he did not previously know what you just taught, or he just heard it spoken in a new dimension. No man knows all. It is pride that makes people argue as if they know all. |
Judas Iscariot was NEVER a saved man? wetin we no go hear. toluxa1:What? You thought I was quoting my biology textbook? |
Alethia There's nothing to take easy. I just quoted scripture and showed you what you did, simple. |
toluxa1 I'm yet to say that we have ability to choose God. You have added 'God' of your volition. I said we have ability to choose and quoted scriptures to that effect(Proverbs 1v29). Another says 'choose you this day who you will serve'. Except this scriptures are wrong and you are right sha. But Bible clearly tells us that we have a say in this matter. We're not programmed zombies, programmed for heaven/hell. Whosoever WILL, let him take the water of life FREELY |
BigBashiru:This is THE JOKE OF THE DAY. Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely Revelation 22v17. You should get a hold on that emotion of yours, you were not ordained that way friend. |
^ You couldn't see past that he didn't donate it in the church. If he had said that he tithe in church and got a job, you might have said like me, that people get and lose jobs daily irrespective of whether they tithe. An unbalanced weight is ABOMINATION before Jehovah |
FRUITS! Haha, I don't know whether to get happy for you or get happy at you. |
Did I just think you arE confused? no. ![]() By the way, which one be current scriptures. The ones I quoted like John 3 and Proverbs 1 are 'ex-current' abi, we're together. |
^deepS How about if the judge resorted to killing, or to denial of rights(imprisonment) in delivering his verdict. Would it be pathetic? |
^I don't see anyone on this thread talking about confessing sins except you. Even the atheist OP wrote about professing Jesus as saviour, already. Being controversial is not an healthy hobby |
You're not the first to feel pathetic. Everyone thinks the other is unfair and inadequate. Even my cousin's goat looked 'pathetic' the other day when it's kin was been roasted for our consumption. I noticed too that the convict's kinsmen usually find the judge's decisions pathetic. You're not the first and you may not be the last. |
^ I 'quoted' 5 portions of scripture telling us something is at stake. You chose 1 of them that seemed convenient. Sorry, but I'll leave it at that again for now. |
I thought i sometimes read that this DeepS person was taught something about law. How come we're on his field and he doesn't seem to know it? God is not you. He is judge and his actions cannot be weighed in the same perspective as we would weigh your actions. What someone does and we call murder is what the judge/law does and we call justice. We and perspective. I'm growing a stronger affinity for that word than you seem to have for the thread |
You talk of proper Bible study and comparing scripture with scripture. My question on whether John 3v16 is scripture was not answered. I'll re.phrase it- Am i quoting ababio or Bible. Proper Bible study tells us the mind of God, not just the 'malinterpretation of some passages. Looking in the Bible, we find that we have ability to choose, except those passages are wrong and you arE right sha. Proverbs 1v29 for that they hated knowledge, and DID NOT CHOOSE the fear of the Lord. These ones above went their own way of perdition of their own volition, not God choosing them/for them |
toluxa1 Rewind come back small. I quoted John 3v16 saying WHOSOEVER believes in him will not perish. I implied that anyone/everyone can have a go at salvation. I didn't say all will be saved, instead ANYONE/WHOSOEVER believes, not some 'chosen' sect. Then came someone saying whosoever means 'not all' or as many as. That's why I put the two words in place of WHOSOEVER in John 3v16 to show how different they sound. They sure didn't look synonymous in that passage. |
