So when any group gathers around in a circle, they must be praying. And it surely must be to the christian God. And He must answer their prayers or else . . . Are you for real or just seeking wack?

Cicero
O you don't really understand these people! A majority of them seperate themselves and have not the Spirit. They are in plain churchless and not under any sort of 'authority'. Their view of a man of God is a beggarly, sickly man who can barely pay his transport. They think heaven and lazarus are synonyms.

I didn't watch the eagles that much, though I saw them gathered together at the start of the 2nd half against S Korea. I'm not sure, but it didn't occur to me that they were praying. Sorry I didn't take good note but I think I recall Yakubu tying his bootlace and opening space to THE G.K who seemed to be addressing his teammates in what has become an hobby of our national representatives in sports. I stand to be corrected sha, but I don't think they were praying.
Another thing is that prayer has facets and conditions. It's more than waving the magic wand, it's communication. Who's communicating, and who's being communicated with?

A true man of God is someone who does the will of God. It is not the picture painted to you by those critics above. Critics generally know little or nothing about issues.

^^^ There you go

coat tails,
Oga Image123, I don ’t need
to read Viaro’s post.
Viaro’s
post does not address your
talk about following God ’s
words. Stop hiding behind
Viaro Image123, why don ’t
you come out and defend
your position.
I'm under grace mr(s). I've not committed a crime by directing you to viaro's posts seeing that they address your issues. You do need to read others' posts. Little wonder you've being getting little. This is a discussion forum, and you should learn to also listen to others, not just clicking reply to pollute your views. Viaro's post addressed your beloved 'extract', and your Bible addresses what God said in Malachi 3 and Matthew 23. I'm reading all the posts on this thread and learning. I'm reading D-Optimist, Kunle,Ogagim etc. It's a discussion forum for 'seun's' sake.

Oh Zikkyy Zikky. I thought it was just yesterday afternoon around 3pm. Well, I'm a good child, I'll remind you. You said
and what is God telling us
in Malachi 3 and Mathew
23v23?
To which I replied
Oh tell me you have a
bible zikkyy. Even mazaje
has one, and it's subsidised
for you to afford one.
Is that not sufficient? You're asking what God is saying in Malachi 3 and Matthew 23, and I'm saying read it yourself. You do have a bible, don't you? Or you're not satisfied with the version you have? If that's the case, what version would you have quoted please?
How is that running? You'll rather that I read it for you than you read it for yourself? Then you come along with an 'extract' from gary and I refer you to an extract from viaro. What have I now done? Is there not a cause?
Christianity Etc › Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by Image123(m): 11:22pm On Jun 22, 2010
Need I say more, Zikkyy and others? Please read viaro's input above. Both the commentary on gary's post which you quoted, and other post. I pray your hearts be not hardened.

It doesn't matter who
God was speaking to in
Malachi - it was NOT the
Christian Church. It
doesn't matter whether
Abram owned the war
spoils or not.
Oh, I thought it so much mattered to you that the priests were the addressed. Now it doesn't matter? There's a double-minded man, unstable. What do you think to be God's tithe? You think Abraham gave devil's tithe or what? Maybe you should go back to '3years ago' before your eyes were opened like
Adam and Eve's.
Christianity Etc › Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by Image123(m): 6:43pm On Jun 22, 2010
Neither
YOU nor anyone else is
following God's
ordinances today.
NO ONE has shown me
any scripture where God
ever commanded anyone
to tithe on anything that
man made or earned.
So you're the one monitoring God's people and you can declare no one is following God's ordinances. How naive. You must have been following satan's ordinances, yes? Ever heard of a certain Matthew 28v20 or it also DOESN'T matter. I guess all that matters to you is that people do not tithe, you need deliveranceS.
And what exactly is man made or earned? Have you not heard that ALL things were made by him; and without him was not ANY THING made that was made. You need to dust your Bible and really pray. All those links and books are not exactly helping you gary.
Christianity Etc › Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by Image123(m): 6:32pm On Jun 22, 2010
Image123 - I am done
arguing with you. We are
not going to agree.
Malachi DOESN'T matter.
Here is an hardened being. I wasn't arguing with you but showing you the shallowness of your paraded 'points'. Only an ignorant fellow will carry a whole book out of the Bible and assert "Malachi DOESN'T matter". What did Jesus say? Luke 16v17. And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
I hope that verse MATTERS to you. Sorry you've lost it (if you ever had it). Run fast to calvary for cleansing, you stink of sin, garyarnold.

I kid you not, I'm not a 'Pastor', nor do I collect offering or salary from church. I think I've said that before to kunleoshob. It amazed me how he continues to falsely accuse me of that. I'm just a child of God who knows his Father's will.
Now, it's not a question of man telling you what to give, but rather showing you what the Father has said that you should give. We should learn to know when God is speaking e.g Malachi 3 and Matthew 23v23.

phobia and scurrying go hand in hand. You are in the best position to tell me what you're scurrying to do. BTW, when is it going to be made plain to you that tithe is A form of giving, and that any abuse of tithe can also be achieved in giving, therefore cannot be used as excuse to condemn tithes. e.g some folks leave their elderly parents hungry so as to 'give cheerfully'.
You know what, whipping up sentiments will never change the truth. This ye ought to have done, and not leave the other undone. 'This' referring to bring ye ALL the tithes. Bring it(foreverX ce)

It's not every message on radio, internet or T.V that's for you. I'm suprised that christians will still continue to listen to occult programmes on radio and to obvious false teachers on television. You'll say I can never step into that church, that man is not of God! But you do listen to him and watch his programmes, and he does step into your livingroom. Cease, my son, stop it. Overcome the temptation, do something else, or watch/hear something else.
Words are powerful, they form you. Words are refer, don't allow the wrong words to bear fruit in your life and future reasoning. 'Watch it'.

June 22 Proverbs 19v27

27 Cease, my son, to hear
the instruction that causeth
to err from the words of
knowledge.

It's a wonderful privilege to hear. Faith comes by hearing and without faith, it is impossible to please God. So hearing is important.
But are we to hear all things and everything? No. Even Jesus warned by saying 'Take heed how you hear'. We need to be circumspect, and not careless or presumptous. So many believers today are presumptous and not sober or watchful enough. Thank God He's calling His sons back today!
He says 'Cease, my son to hear the instruction that causes to err'. O! in case you did not know, some INSTRUCTION can make you err.

Still on gary
You bring up Nehemiah
13v12 but don't seem to
understand what is going
on here. Verse 10 shows
the ROBBING GOD of the
tithe
. The Levites had
taken the portion of the
tithe THEY NEEDED FOR
THEMSELVES TO LIVE ON
and the priests stole it.
Where is all these story in your bible?
Nehemiah 13v10 And I perceived that the portion of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.
Not even a mention of the word 'tithe'. Half truths are damning.
Christianity Etc › Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by Image123(m): 12:26am On Jun 22, 2010
Yes , but as I said, the
word YOU in that verse is
being spoken to the
priests.
Malachi 1v1 the burden of the word of the Lord TO ISRAEL by Malachi.
Matthew 11v7,10 Jesus began to say unto THE MULTITUDES. . . This is he of whom it is written, Behold I send my messenger.
Jesus addressed Malachi 3 to multitudeS not just priests. The promise of John was not only to priests. The words of God are not the exclusive preserve of any.

The
Word doesn't say ALL
sons of Jacob.
The priests had ROBBED
God. The Word doesn't
say anyone WITHHELD
paying or didn't pay the
Tithe.
Malachi 3v9 ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have ROBBED me, EVEN THIS WHOLE NATION.

Christianity Etc › Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by Image123(m): 11:38pm On Jun 21, 2010
OK, Image123,
You said, referring to
Malachi, "Verse 5
addresses not just priests,
but also sorcerers,
adulterers and so on."
Yes , but as I said, the
word YOU in that verse is
being spoken to the
priests.
You referred to "sons of
Jacob." Weren't the
priests sons of Jacob? The
Word doesn't say ALL
sons of Jacob.
The priests had ROBBED
God. The Word doesn't
say anyone WITHHELD
paying or didn't pay the
Tithe. How do you rob
someone? BY STEALING
from them, and the
priests STOLE the Levites
portion of the tithe at
the Temple per
Nehemiah 13.
You bring up Nehemiah
13v12 but don't seem to
understand what is going
on here. Verse 10 shows
the ROBBING GOD of the
tithe. The Levites had
taken the portion of the
tithe THEY NEEDED FOR
THEMSELVES TO LIVE ON
and the priests stole it.
When the people heard
this, they took brought
the tithe to the Temple
for the Levites. This was
NOT the normal way of
paying the tithe. The
tithe was normally taken
to the Levites to go INTO
THEIR CITIES, where they
lived.

What's all these up. Did you really type this? This is worse than what one of my friends would call eisegesis. This is terrible. Did anyone care to read up those passages gary is talking about? Or they're so happy gary's making a point? You've lied again gary. Lying is of the devil, the Father of lies/liars. You can repent.

Christianity Etc › Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by Image123(m): 1:24pm On Jun 21, 2010
Thirdly gary
You said 'the Levite's tithe went to the storehouse, not the whole tithe'. Your common sense told you that, not God's Word. God's Word addressing 'this whole nation' says "Bring ye ALL the tithes into the storehouse.
A classic example of this is seen in Nehemiah 13v12- Then brought ALL JUDAH the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries.
Seems this had more grace not to walk in the letter but in the Spirit, compared to many me antagonists.

Secondly garyarnold
You said "everytime the word 'you' is used, it is referring to priests". Well, Malachi 1v2 says to Israel(not just priests), I have loved YOU. Come quickly to Malachi 3, I love the chapter. Verse 1 is the promise of John the baptist. This promise isn't/wasn't just to priests. The Jews take the whole OT as addressed to them all, not to some sect. Verse 5 addresses not just priests, but also sorcerers, adulterers and so on.
Malachi 3v6 is clear, I'm suprised you missed it. "for I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed". Not just the priests, but the children of Jacob i.e the Israelites.
Verse 9 ye have robbed me, even what?
Hope I don't need to say more on this. Blessed are the meek, not blessed are the ones with a point and the last say.
Christianity Etc › Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by Image123(m): 12:50pm On Jun 21, 2010
What are the 'facts'? Are we no more christians because we do not believe in tithes? Why are tithephobics so dishonest, rude and false accusing?
The other one says 'you show a lack of knowledge on this topic'. I guess, to you knowledge is disagreement to tithe OR some quotes from the bible, that seems to support your talk.
How do I start with you, your problems/errors are so many. Firstly, I'll say it's sheer ignorance OR worse still devil's doctrine to claim that a part of scriptures is not profitable for believers, using whatever base.
You've said the whole Malachi is addressed to the priests(or probably you meant to say the levites). How true is this assertion?
Malachi 1v1 The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.
I believe the address is clear, the author is clear, the vessel/messenger is clear. I do pray you learn. Many tithephobics will never respond to issues, just skip to some other thread or forum to repeat their 'knowledge'. Hope you're peculiar?

Christianity Etc › Re: Today's Rhema (God's gifts to men). by Image123(op): 10:25am On Jun 21, 2010
Christians, we can be pure! Forget all these 'nobody holy pass'. It's not in the Bible. What is in the Bible is "Be ye holy for I am holy". Come up to your place in Jesus. Jesus that He might sanctify His people suffered . That's why He suffered, to make my way perfect. Not just for me to shed some tears when I watch the film 'Jesus of Nazareth' at easter. It is God that girds me with strength, making my way PERFECT).
Christianity Etc › Re: Today's Rhema (God's gifts to men). by Image123(op): 10:18am On Jun 21, 2010
June 21 Psalm 18v32

32. It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

When we look into the commandments of God, we'll see that they are broad. Fallen man cannot keep them. A graceless person cannot attain unto it. But do we need to fear or fret, no. Perfect love casts out fear. Fear and unbelief work together.
Many today do not believe that christians can live in holiness and righteousness, without spot or wrinkle. There goes unbelief. This is because people focus on the things that are seen, man and his past. Let's focus on God, for it is God that "makes my way perfect". Let's look unto Him and believe we can be perfect, even as our Father in heaven is perfect. For as He is, so are we IN THIS world, even as He is pure.
