I-man, stop reading the bricklayers sun newspaper, their sources are not always credible!!I quoted from my favourite newspaper, the Times. The Times well known for its first class journalism.I know you prefer "The Star" ![]() |
The Govt should stopp setting the price of fuel!Simple!Let the market determine the price of fuel. |
United Hausa Emirates will be formed without loss of single life,Hurry Up!I'm not getting any younger.I want to see this dream actualised before the evening of my life.Do you need any help? I can be of some assistance. ![]() |
This is the Gunners thread and I saw news concerning the Gunnners most popular player. What was I supposed to do? I think the real problem is that you are not happy with all the kerfuffle sorrounding Henry The man wants to leave a sinking club.Hey,you would do the same if you were in his position |
Thierry Henry’s possible move to Spain looks increasingly likely after Samuel Eto’o, the Barcelona striker and close friend of the Arsenal captain, said that he expects Henry to join him at the club next season. “He is a great mate of mine and we will play all together. There is room for everybody,” Eto’o told The Times. He talks regularly with Henry. “I was chatting to him while he was boarding the plane that took him to the States to see the NBA final,” Eto’o said. After losing their Spanish title to Real Madrid on Sunday, Barcelona are keen to make a statement of intent. However, they may struggle to raise the funds to sign Henry after Joan Laporta, their president, said yesterday that two potential big-money departures, Eto’o and Ronaldinho, will stay at the club along with Frank Rijkaard, the coach. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/arsenal/article1957805.ece |
Imani:If this was 1950,the culture, politics and tribalism threads would have been saturated with unparralelled tribalism.Tribalism is inevitable in a multi-ethnic nation. |
There were a few of her comments I found quite laughable. She says,"I am both Muslim and Christian, just like I'm both an American of African descent and a woman. I'm 100 percent both." The analogy doesn't work since there is no apparent incompatibility between being African American and being a woman. She also says "It wasn't about intellect . "All I know is the calling of my heart to Islam was very much something about my identity and who I am supposed to be".Obviously,it was not about intellect,an attribute which cannot be reconciled with this decision.I dare say Islam is the antithesis of intellectual thinking. Another laughable comment."Islam doesn't say if you're a Christian, you're not a Muslim,Islam doesn't lay it out like that." So how does Islam lay it out? I thought this was the main reason she got "involved" with Islam, can't say she "converted" because she is also a "Christian".- "To walk into Al-Islam and be reminded that there are more people of color in the world than white people, that in itself is a relief." This is the main reason Blacks in the diaspora convert. They view Christianity as the "slavemaster's religion",hence the need to find a religion where whites are the minority. |
It might be a case of schizophrenia. The Episcopalian Church,4 years after the first appointment of an "openly gay" Bishop has retained as priest,a woman who claims to be both a Muslim and a Christian.Political correction gone mad http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003751274_redding17m.html Shortly after noon on Fridays, the Rev. Ann Holmes Redding ties on a black headscarf, preparing to pray with her Muslim group on First Hill. On Sunday mornings, Redding puts on the white collar of an Episcopal priest. She does both, she says, because she's Christian and Muslim. Redding, who until recently was director of faith formation at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, has been a priest for more than 20 years. Now she's ready to tell people that, for the last 15 months, she's also been a Muslim — drawn to the faith after an introduction to Islamic prayers left her profoundly moved. Her announcement has provoked surprise and bewilderment in many, raising an obvious question: How can someone be both a Christian and a Muslim? ChristianMuslimPriest |
As long as the Govt still has the responsibility of fixing fuel price, there will always be scarcity. In every other sector of the economy, prices are determined purely by demand and suppply. What we have at the moment is an inefficient system. There is absolutely no incentive for private investors to come in when its up to the FG to determine fuel price.I wonder when we will learn our lesson |
I don't see the big deal. When Klinsman was Germany's coach,he lived in California,US.In Germany's case, most of the players play in the Bundesliga, yet the coach still stayed in California and did a good job.Almost all our players play in Europe. If the players themselves stay in Europe, what is wrong with the coach staying there as well? |
Shame on Gunners.Gunners always use the excuse of parsimony to explain away their failures. However, their wage bill is not far off that Utd and higher than that of Liverpool's(who finished above them for the 2nd season running) http://www.worldsoccer.com/news/Premiership_wage_bill_tops_1billion_news_122223.html Top wage bills Chelsea - £114m Manchester Utd - £85m Arsenal - £83m Liverpool - £69m Newcastle Utd - £52m Liverpool at least won the FA Cup and finished at least 15 points ahead of you in the League.Shame on Gunners Gunners earning were also higher than that of Liverpool: Manchester United was once again the biggest earners, making £167.7m. They were followed by Chelsea on £152.8m, Arsenal on £133m and Liverpool on £121.6m. |
What do you guys make of the rumors sorrounding Fabio Quagliarella? He has been linked with Utd for ages now but nothing has happened yet.He is not particularly prolific but is very skillful.I don't think Utd have the money to make an outright signing but at £10milllion,I will say they should go for it.I doubt very much if Sampdiria will allow him leave at that price. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007280295,00.html I found a funny comment in the "comments section" of the Sun link. ;DHere it is:Congratulations. You will play alongside Shrek, and ahead of Nani, surrounded by ugliness of the worst kind. Make sure you have your pukebag along with you at all times. YNWA |
Wenger for Barca The Sun is shameless. This is just quintessential bonzo journalism-http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007280218,00.html Mourinho for Enyimba says the Sun! |
Razorr:Nani may end up being a dissapointment just like Shaun Wright Philips and Damien Duff but that doesn't change anything. We have 7 decent players in midfield-Scholes,Giggs,Anderson,Ronaldo,Carrick,Hargreaves,Nani.Only 4 need perform at any given time.In the long term,we will continue to sell and replace players.Failed to mention Fletcher(Fergie's illegitimate son) Nani won't be under any extra pressure to perform. There is a wealth of talent in the team and he could be introduced gradually.Players either fufill or fail to fulfill expectations, that is the nature of football. However,no club in the last 17 years has been as good in the Premiership at harnessing youthful talent as Utd. Of course it will take time to adapt. That is stating the obvious.Ronaldo took time to flourish. There is nothing particularly elightening about the comments |
@nnenneigbo Wetin? The girl is a confirmed lesbian. . .so I no know wetin Jamie dey waste im time for ![]() |
Jamie mounting a lesbian Shocking! Isn't she suppose to be on top? ![]() |

@Ika Honestly, isn't the man barking mad? How can you be singing on the phone in the afternoon.Too early to be intoxicated,he obviously has some loose screws.Either that or he is cheating big time, and he is trying to overcompensate ![]() |
2) My husband is a "proper" igbo guy! The most romantic set in Nigeria! I always go for the best you know! Our collective experiences with them oyinbo/latinos people them are keeping our marriage "spicy"! I mean the bobo still calls me at work to sing to me on my lunch break! Drives my co-workers nuts with envy! So please nothing wrong with sampling and looking for the home "boy"! For cultural reasons and to raise my kids, I prefer to go back to Nigeria to settle down. @nossycheek How do you reconcile this thread here with this other thread? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=58376.msg1183380#msg1183380 |
An example of Muslims getting worked for nothing:http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article1948375.ece Britain's decision to award the author Salman Rushdie a knighthood justifies Islamic suicide bombing attacks, a Pakistan government minister said today. The writer was awarded the title in the Queen's Birthday Honours on Saturday. He has lived under police protection since the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini of Iran pronounced a fatwa (death sentence) on him over alleged blasphemies against Islam in his 1988 novel The Satanic Verses. The knighthood has caused outrage in the Muslim world. Today, Pakistan's religious affairs minister said that it was so grave an offence that any Muslim anywhere in the world would be justified in taking violent action. In the Pakistani city of Multan, about 100 Muslim students burnt effigies of the Queen and Rushdie and shouted: "Kill him, kill him" |
denex:Some of them would be people from Niger but I am sure there are Nigerians there too. The centres offer food nutritional supplements, vaccinations and healthcare, all for free. What makes you think Nigerians, close to the border with Niger, won't want to take advantage of all these free services? The largest ethnic group in Niger Republic is the Hausa. If there are centres in Niger offering food,healthcare,vaccinations,e.t.c for free, its hard to see why people find it difficult to believe that Nigerian Hausas, living near Niger, might want to take advantage too . |
@Topic If the man is an employee of the woman ![]() |
Tornadoz:How many times has Isreal bombed Iran?Isreal does not share a common boundary with Iran nor does it make claims to Iranian teritory. To the extent that there is rising tensions in Iranian/Isreal relations, this has been solely due to Iran's policy. Would you prefer a neighbour who says I could kill you or the one who really have a defined goal of wiping you out with his bigger gun?The only reason Israel is pondering military action against Iran is due to Iran's threats against Israel. The chronology of events here are important.Iran first made threats against Isreal, existential threats which become more threatening as Iran's programs develop.Isreal's threat,in response, has never been to wipe Iran off the map but to strike at Iran's capability to attack Israel. There is clear distinction between a threat to wipe a nation off the face of the earth(as Iran made) and one to attack another nations nuclear facilities(as Israel has made) |
Tornadoz:There is one distinguishing characteristic that Goebbels bore.He had a visceral prejudice for the Jews. You too share a similar anti-Jewish prejudice. |
There is a difference between religiosity and religiousness.Women are well versed in the former but less so in the latter. Whether women are more religious than men is hard to establish. |
http://www.pajamasmedia.com/2007/06/mahmoud_wants_war.php By Meir Javedanfar: Increasingly, the angry speeches of Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reveal a desperate president in need of a conflict. Just a few days ago, he crossed a key rhetorical red line by expressing open hostility towards both Judaism and Christianity. Ahmadinejad charged that “ideologies deviating from God’s teachings are being spread with dollars in the name of Judaism and Christianity around the world. Those who are doing this are saying they want to save humanity, whereas the only way to save humanity is Islam”. He went on to say that “Islam completes other religions” and that therefore “other religions are not accepted by God”. |
3-1 to Madrid.Bloody Reyes! |
Are you sure you are not a closet Arsenal fan? Outrage! Nothing to do with that club. Its for masochists. I'm always here because of the schadenfreude I feel in the thread of an underachieving club ![]() Madrid equalises ![]() |
debosky:We didn't win much when he was with us.He was a destabilising influence in the dressing room. His constant disputes with Ronaldo were well known. We were better off without him.On the pitch, his impact was not as rewarding as before. |
