If this was 1950,the culture,politics and tribalism threads would have been saturated with unparralelled tribalism.Tribalism is inevitable in a multi-ethnic nation.

There were a few of her comments I found quite laughable.She says,"I am both Muslim and Christian, just like I'm both an American of African descent and a woman. I'm 100 percent both." The analogy doesn't work since there is no apparent incompatibility between being African American and being a woman.

She also says "It wasn't about intellect . "All I know is the calling of my heart to Islam was very much something about my identity and who I am supposed to be".Obviously,it was not about intellect,an attribute which cannot be reconciled with this decision.I dare say Islam is the antithesis of intellectual thinking.

Another laughable comment."Islam doesn't say if you're a Christian, you're not a Muslim,Islam doesn't lay it out like that." So how does Islam lay it out?

I thought this was the main reason she got "involved" with Islam,can't say she "converted" because she is also a "Christian".- [i]"To walk into Al-Islam and be reminded that there are more people of color in the world than white people, that in itself is a relief." [/i]This is the main reason Blacks in the diaspora convert.They view Christianity as the "slavemaster's religion",hence the need to find a religion where whites are the minority.

As long as  the Govt still has the responsibility of fixing fuel price,there will always be scarcity.In every other sector of the economy,prices are determined purely by demand and suppply.What we have at the moment is an inefficient system.There is absolutely no incentive for private investors to come in when its up to the FG to determine fuel price.I wonder when we will learn our lesson

I don't see the big deal.When Klinsman was Germany's coach,he lived in California,US.In Germany's case,most of the players play in the Bundesliga,yet the coach still stayed in California and did a good job.Almost all our players play in Europe.If the players themselves stay in Europe,what is wrong with the coach staying there as well?

Shame on Gunners.Gunners always use the excuse of parsimony to explain away their failures.However,their wage bill is not far off that Utd and higher than that of Liverpool's(who finished above them for the 2nd season running)

What do you guys make of the rumors sorrounding Fabio Quagliarella?He has been linked with Utd for ages now but nothing has happened yet.He is not particularly prolific but is very skillful.I don't think Utd have the money to make an outright signing but at £10milllion,I will say they should go for it.I doubt very much if Sampdiria will allow him leave at that price.

Sweetheart, did you watch the recent Euro under 21 championships? Nani sucked. That's why the Chelsea scout said what he did.  

Don't forget that when a big club signs a new talent, all eyes would be on the boy. The guy would be under pressure to perform. Nani has been bad recently (if you've been following his progress) and that's why they took a jibe at him.  

What the guys at Chelsea have said is that it would take time for the guy to adapt. I don't know what's wrong in that statement.    

Nani may end up being a dissapointment just like Shaun Wright Philips and Damien Duff but that doesn't change anything.We have 7 decent players in midfield-Scholes,Giggs,Anderson,Ronaldo,Carrick,Hargreaves,Nani.Only 4 need perform at any given time.In the long term,we will continue to sell and replace players.Failed to  mention Fletcher(Fergie's illegitimate son)

Nani won't be under any extra pressure to perform.There is  a wealth of talent in the team and he could be introduced gradually.Players either fufill or fail to fulfill expectations,that is the nature of football.However,no club in the last 17 years has been as good in the Premiership at harnessing youthful talent as Utd.

Of course it will take time to adapt.That is stating the obvious.Ronaldo took time to flourish.There is nothing particularly elightening about the comments

2) My husband is a "proper" igbo guy! The most romantic set in Nigeria! I always go for the best you know! Our collective experiences with them oyinbo/latinos people them are keeping our marriage "spicy"! I mean the bobo still calls me at work to sing to me on my lunch break! From what I gather from this Koinangish story, it seems to be that Nigerienne beggars in the North heard that they could now get free food in their own country, they decided to go back.

Some of them would be people from Niger but I am sure there are Nigerians there too. The centres offer food nutritional supplements, vaccinations and  healthcare, all for free.What makes you think Nigerians,close to the border with Niger,won't want to take advantage of all these free services? 

The largest ethnic group in Niger Republic is the Hausa.If there are centres in Niger offering food,healthcare,vaccinations,e.t.c for free,its hard to see why people find it difficult to believe that Nigerian Hausas,living near Niger, might want to take advantage too .

How many times has Isreal bombed Iran?Isreal does not share a common boundary with Iran nor does it make claims to Iranian teritory.To the extent that there is rising tensions in Iranian/Isreal relations,this has been solely due to Iran's policy.

Would you  prefer a  neighbour who says I could kill you or the one who really have a defined goal of wiping you out with his bigger gun?

The only reason Israel is pondering military action against Iran is due to Iran's threats against Israel.The chronology of events here are important.Iran first made threats against Isreal,existential threats which become more threatening as Iran's programs develop.Isreal's threat,in response, has never been to wipe Iran off the map but to strike at Iran's capability to attack Israel.

There is clear distinction between a threat to wipe a nation off the face of the earth(as Iran made) and one to attack another nations nuclear facilities(as Israel has made)

There is a difference between religiosity and religiousness.Women are well versed in the former but less so in the latter. Whether women are more religious than men is hard to establish.
