Iffylove: 1. Please, do not mention anything about your family joining you in your SOP, instead state categorically that they will be in Nigeria, they're the best hometie you have right now. 2. I don't know much about this question, my guess is when you arrive Canada you can apply for your family to join you. Just my opinion. Goodluck! |

I wasn't expcting this, I applied on 05 July 2020, received biometric request letter on 06 July 2020. I received Medical Examination Instruction letter today, 24 July 2020. When I saw the mail this morning, I thought I have been denied, I avoided my account till I couldn't hold it anymore I had to check. I just applied 19 days ago, and my admission is for Winter 2021, I am hoping and praying this ends well. Goodluck everyone!! 14 Likes 1 Share |

Thermodynamics: It's better for you to do a course that is in line with your bachelors discipline or your work experience. You can always switch to your preferred program when you get to Canada. Mechanical Engineering is very broad, I am somewhat sure the job prospects is high in Canada for the program, especially when you have other computer aided design skills, with some programming and numerical analysis. First thing to do is to check the schools requirements and see if your grade meets their cutoff, tuition fees, masters or PGD or PGC (depends on your CGPA), then you apply. I'm not in Canada oh, just my 2cents, so take it or leave it. Goodluck. 2 Likes |

itwillendinprai: Is the WES course by course ICAP evaluation a requirement by your university of interest? If no, then you submitting it won't matter in your application. Admission requirements for US and Canadian schools are very different, I applied to University of Regina with my WES 3.4/4.0 GPA and was rejected, mind you WES was and still is among their requirements. If the school you want is requesting for a WES evaluated Transcript and your WES Transcript is within their cutoff, mostly 3.0/4.0, go ahead and apply. But if they are not, and you apply with the WES Transcript hoping to get an advantage, you just wasted your money. This is based on my personal experience and I might be wrong. Goodluck. 2 Likes |

Lekiboboe: 30 pages! I don't think PRIMO can work this time or it won't be clear at all, blurred letters. 30 pages! That's all my client information docs already in one document. I couldn't even use PRIMO for some 1 page documents due to the quality. He should give a try and see how it looks. I used only the survey plan on my land property due to the pages. 3 Likes |

NairaLuck: I paid my deposit with GT Bank Naira Mastercard via CIBC. My deposit was even $CAD4,000. Came up to around approx. N1,100,000 or so. This was in March, I had a deadline to meetup and the FormA was suspended by the Central Bank during that period. Confirm with your bank on your daily limit. What I don't know is the exact charge for the transaction. But if I had the option of FormA as you do now, I would have used it. |

koonleh: Which school are you applying to? Is WES ICAP course by course evaluation a requirement? Which document is WES requesting you to upload? You can mail them to clarify this for you. To the best of my knowledge, once they have evaluated for you before, they will request for the recipient's details, not to upload another document. Your best bet is to contact WES and ask them. |

Hello all, Please, I am about to submit my application and I need your input in my application documents, what do you think? Is there any info you think I am missing that can make my profile strong? Background - I have a BEng in Civil Engineering (2011), I have been working in my field (Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering/Construction) since after service year in 2012 until now. I got admitted into the University of Windsor, MEng Civil Engineering - deferred to Winter 2021. I am not married and I am sponsoring myself. My documents: Acceptance Letter- 1. Windsor Acceptance Letter - Conditional ( Windsor gives only one letter, no unconditional, at least to the best of my knowledge) 2. Receipt for my Transcript processing and posting from my Undergrad University (This is to show that I am fulfilling the conditions in my offer letter) Proof of Funds- 1. Reference Letter from my bank with a closing balance of N15million 2. My 1-year Statement of Account from the same bank above 3. Payslips from my previous employer 4. Oanda.com exchange rate website photo, showing the date and the Naira - CAD rate. 5. Salary Account Statement of Feb - Dec 2019,( just to show salary payment and I mentioned this in my SOP) 6. Windsor Tuition Deposit Receipt for $CAD4000 Client Information- 0. Statement of Purpose 1. Education docs. - SSCE, Bachelors, Transcript, NYSC, English proficiency letter from my Undergrad school. 2. Employment docs - Reference Letters from all previous and current employer, current employment is part-time and unpaid so no payslips. ID's, Awards and Certificates from employment or online programs 3. Mother and brother IDs 4. Pension Manager Introduction Letter and Statement of Account with N6Million (stated in SOP as home-tie) 5. Land Property Survey Plan 6. Photo of me and my family, and a photo of me and my colleagues at work. 7. Admission letter from a UK university, (I used this to state the reason I chose Windsor, Canada for this program in my SOP), I am filling my IMM forms now before submission, please, If you think I am missing any doc let me know. It shall end with praise! 4 Likes |

Iffylove: In my experience with admission application especially for thesis programs, even when it is not compulsory to get a supervisor prior to application or admission, I won't apply to that program If I don't get a positive response from a supervisor. Remember, this is just my opinion. All the thesis programs I applied to with no positive response from a potential supervisor, even when the school website states categorically that it is not mandatory, I received a rejection mail. You can try your luck, If you have a strong profile with research experience, that is published research in journals. OR maybe I am wrong and the school is making it mandatory for potential students not to get a supervisor for a PhD program. All the best. 1 Like 1 Share |

Lekiboboe: Thanks for this insight, very helpful post on pg 116. I think he was asking for how to hyperlink the table of content such that, when clicked, directs the user to the document page within the merged documents. I have been looking for how to do that too, because the table of contents is doc but the documents is pdf and I think you can't hyperlink in a pdf document. Please, correct me if I'm wrong Jermaineayo. Do you have any way to do this? 3 Likes |

Pee2Jay9: In my opinion, what you posted from part 15 and what you want to do are different. In the application portal, it was mentioned that you can merge your family info IMM form with extra 'IMM form page' if your family information couldn't be contained in the given IMM form. It didn't mention that you can merge your additional family document (which is not an IMM form) to the family IMM form for upload. Disclaimer: I am just clarifying what I read, I don't know if it can be done or not i.e. to merge IMM form with another document. 2 Likes |

JustMellow: Thanks a lot for your help. My first employer just gave me a reference letter for this application and I didn't receive any appointment letter from them when I worked with them 8 years ago. For the second employer, I have an employment letter and a reference letter that will soon expire. My current employment is part time and not paid, and I have only a reference letter from them. I want to use the reference letters and the employment letter for my application. I hope not to get delayed due to employment situation. For the pension statement, I mentioned it in my SOP under the home ties section that it was for that purpose. I will remove the salary account and use only the savings with the pay slips. Thanks a lot for your assistance. 1 Like |

I am preparing to submit my application, but I have a few questions to clarify: 1. The reference letter I received from my current employer is almost 2 months old. Can I still use it for my application after 2 months? I saw a checklist with a 2 month validity period, I was wondering if that's the requirement. I want to avoid requesting for a new one. 2. I want to include my pension statement of account in my application, not as proof of funds but as a home tie. I received the SOA around March, is the validity period for this also a month? Can I still use it now or do I need to get a new statement of account. 3. I have two bank accounts, a salary account and a savings account where I saved for my education. So when I receive my salary, I transfer my savings to the savings account. I want to upload only my savings account in my proof of funds section (that's where all the funds for my education is), and then include my salary account in my client information section as evidence of legit income with my pay slips, is this a good idea? 1 Like 1 Share |

Ysakaws1: Really? For which program? Have you checked your profile on the egas portal? Did you apply for a course based masters or a thesis masters? This might not be good for your application because enrollment for some courses for Fall 2020 has commenced, even co-op application is on already with deadline on July 10. You need to contact them as soon as possible. Send a mail to: gradst@uwindsor.ca AND Go to this link: https://www.uwindsor.ca/registrar/540/contact-us On the link, scroll down to Graduate and Professional Application Service Specialist section, you will see a list of Admission Officers' names and their contact details, your Admissions Officer is determined by your last name using the alphabetical listing there. Send an inquiry mail to your admission officer. I received my offer letter since March for Fall 2020. I have even deferred to winter session and received the offer letter for Winter January 2021. Goodluck! |

Frankrobbn1: Hello Frank, On this bank statement issue, I have a Pension Account statement that I want to include in my application, just to show ties to home. Should I upload it among the Client Information documents? Does this one month validity period apply to Pension Account statements too? I received my statement in March, I don't know if I can use it now or request for a new one. Thanks for your assistance. |
