When is it probably safer or fair to do court marriage as a guy?.

(1) When the lady you want to marry has loved you so much for long number of years; maybe from secondary school till your adulthood.
(2) When the lady is a virgin. In this case, she is giving you a costly gift in marriage.
(3) When the lady is richer than you, spends well and loves you a lot. When a lady is richer than you and has invested a lot in your life, you may not bother much giving her your wealth to enjoy when things clicks.
(4) When you are the one insisting on it. A lady not interested in court marriage may be kind of safe.
(5) When a lady is not money-conscious. If you have been with a lady for a long time, and you notice she is not having the love of money as a weak point, you may be safe.

I believe most people in Nigeria do it to avoid the expensive trad/church wedding or for japa purposes.

Court marriage is ok when both parties are rich or poor. If the equation is not balanced, don't go near a court unless you will be the beneficiary.

I noticed that the jehova witnesses around me usually feel uncomfortable when a christian song is been played but they are quick to dance and sing along to secular (even ungodly ) songs.

Now the question is - why do these people react this way but chose to be more positive to unchristian subject rather than christian subject of which they are already familiar with.

Bills splitting can be 50/50, 60/40, 70/30, I think all this depends on the financial strength of a man.

My opinion is, just like the nurse said, a man should be capable before getting married even if your wife will assist you, it should be little. A wife should help her husband out if he has financial challenges and husband that have financial challenges shouldn't just sit back and watch their wife do things. I'm one of those who still believe it makes zero sense to take loan from China and build railways. That's not our priority at the moment. We need to get things working. As it is, nothing works.

The pressure on the naira is just too much. Fuel importation alone drains more than half of what we earn selling raw crude. We can tap into the oil industry and flood the African markets with our products. Ghana shouldn't be importing fuel from India when there's Nigeria.

The naira will continue to fall until we take the pain and sort out and can be sorted out locally. For now, we can only hope Dangote stays true to his promise of getting that refinery working, that's the only way we can stabilise the naira a little bit.

The solution to Nigerian problems need political will and common sense but our armchair online economists will beg to differ. Nigeria can refine and corner the whole African market which is a lot. But because there is no political will, corrupt politicians and their cronies are making billions importing refined version of what we export in this 2023/24.

Ask the ones supporting the floating of naira, you will realize that they are mere echo-chambers who have no iota idea of what they are supporting. A patriotic Nigerian who is willing to throw away borrowed Economics and focus on Nigeria can fix many of the major issues in less than 2 years. The woman selling garri at Alaba Rago doesn't need an Economics degree from Harvard to understand the concept of Demand and Supply. Such local sense is what Nigeria needs now instead of trying to be more white than the Caucasians.

Jerome Powell is an economist but US economy is struggling as well with high inflation. Right now he is still fighting inflation with raising interest rate. Ben Bernanke instituted Quantitative Easing. US was in recession in 2008 and another economist was the Fed Chairman.

Alot of Nigerians don't understand how bad our economy is, they think its just to build roads and start farming etc.

Countries like Switzerland, Japan, China, etc are notorious for intervention in their forex. The big news this week is that all eyes are on Bank of Japan because of Yen weakness. Now imagine a country like Nigeria that’s running on voodoo economy. USA as big as it is still offers subsidies to farmers. This is why I abhor textbook intelligence. Nigerians have multiple degrees but application and common sense are their biggest challenges. Tailor the economy to local contents. Economic prescriptions from IMF and World Bank have never helped any country.

We borrow funds to share and party. What could go wrong? There is no light at the end of the tunnel because everything needed in a productive economy is non-existent in Nigeria. Prayer and fasting won’t cut it.

I wonder if Abuja would have "bend" the way it is if actually the so-called engineers are doing their work. Maintenance crews only exist on paper and collecting salaries for doing nothing. Dilapidated roads, broken street lights, etc and one can't help but wonder what the engineers do in the Ministry.

It is a global economy. The data analysis should be based on the global economy as other economies of the world are battling inflation this period as well. From UK, US, Canada to Australia, it is the same story. Nigerian is not an isolated case.
