I don't get it. Is she saying that those ones who can't even write in their languages but police NL correcting English grammar may have little prospects? The certificate warriors! Education is like a key to the world. Some lose it, some don't know how to use it while some use it effectively to open the doors to unlimited possibilities. / |
Oil has had a good run up from $40s to $60s and you consider a retrace from $66 to $64+ as a crash? / |
/ Global equities will lead the way. If they tank, NSE follows. It is not yet uhuru. / |
/ A very popular adage goes thus, "When the king wants to go crazy, he first kills the kingmakers". Tinubu should have been a good student of history and know that once you empower anyone to a position above you (especially in Nigerian politics), you are toast. \ |
Wealthandjobs:What holes do you people creep out from? So anywhere someone's name is mentioned in an investigation, the person should grab his files to go and establish his innocence without formal invitation? I wish Buhari wins again in 2019. I think hardship and only hardship can reset some of your brains to normal. / |
/ I love how everyone is complaining about illegal charges by Nigerian banks but all of a sudden when it involves Innoson, the haters believe the bank is innocent. Of course, if the bank had paid the billions in judgment against Customs to Innoson, GTB would have had cash problems and could easily go under. Add the problem of TSA and zero funds from the government, the rogue bank starts playing games of intimidation to avoid paying. Two courts of competent jurisdiction had decided on the case in favour of Innoson. Yet Customs and GTB refused to obey court orders without consequences. The case went all the way up to Supreme court and some smart Alec is here shouting "Go to court and defend yourself". It is a total abuse of court process. Of course, among Nigerians hatred supercedes common sense. / |
Billyonaire:/ Na na na... What's in a name? One man was called "King of Money"? Does it mean he ruled over money? We have seen at least three individuals called "Arab Money"...do you think they even know any Arab prince? It is all for the show. / |
GoodFaith:/ The facts are glaring. Nigeria is a case of he whom more is given, less is expected. The attitude is very peculiar to black folks in general. Rarely do you find an outstanding black nation. The sad part is that they are very comfortable with it and wouldn't mind passing the buck. But why engage in this long debate with someone who is in no position to affect any change? You may end up killing his fantasy which may not be good for his overall well-being. I wish we all get back to discussing Building Construction. Heck! If there is nothing else to discuss, I wouldn't mind contacting Ministry of Lands in Ibadan and have them demolish Egunmogaji's house. Good bye to Lawn Tennis or table tennis on the roof ![]() That will definitely blow up this thread and get him some reprieve from the "monitoring spirits" stalking him for comments. // |
Dremca:Really? Still debating Nigeria vs US/Canada? Everyone's experience is different. There are many Nigerians in US/Canada who are barely hanging on. When someone tells you that Nigeria is all that, you have no idea of his living situation. Perhaps he will be better off in Nigeria. This assumption that everyone is ok in diaspora is a ruse. Don't judge him until you walk in his shoes. / |
Nigerian degrees are as good as degrees from University of America, Murrieta California. I have never heard of the school until now. I thought it was a joke until I searched in google. It is a degree mill mushroom college. It is a distance learning school out to milk gullible Nigerians for cash. I will lovr to see anyone get a job with their degrees. / |
EgunMogaji:/ ![]() \ |
tosyne2much:/ Bloggers need her type to keep the headlines on Domestic Violence rolling. She is glad to be walking into punches in near future. Like I always say, feminists move one step forward; fellow ladies move them three steps backward. |
Futurecrown:/ Impressive! / |
ice4u999:/ No need for "I can"....just do it. I asked why someone who has little hope of relocating his family to Nigeria would sink funds in a building in Nigeria to impress God-knows-who. And that was in response to someone trying to shade a participant. But of course, your emotion got a better part of you as you descended into macabre dance of phanthom patriotism on the thread. How you railroaded that discussion into "investing" beats me. Are there any new building inventions or innovations you care to share here? Any new gimmicks in construction we need to watch out for? Let's stop derailing this thread before others get pissed off. / |
eagleeye2:/ Who owns Aqua Rapha in Enugu State? There are many more like that. Catholic priests do own businesses and the bishops expect annual stipend from them. / |
ice4u999:/ ![]() Acknowledging a problem is the first step in finding the solution. Who said Nigerians are not in many sectors overseas? Why would those people file for citizenship and would rather travel with Canadian passport? A few that moved back to Lagos are outliers. Don't use them as the yardstick to measure progress in Nigeria. Of course, Okorocha, Sarki wards will move back to Nigeria where the ground is already watered for them. What is the experience of an average Nigerian graduate in Nigeria? I am glad the mentioned that you saw them around the Lekki axis. Heck! There are Nigerian rich kids on Instagram. Are those whom you will use to measure the lives of a typical Nigerian? You are living in fantasy world. Like I always say, suit yourself. MMIA is always ready to welcome us. What are you still doing in Canada? Let's get back to discussing real estate matter a beg. / |
Daboomb:/ Actually Nigeria is where people who are struggling in diaspora go to feel important because of the exchange rate. No one comfortable abroad is contemplating moving to Nigeria. Some move after retirement to get more bang fpr their buck. They still run back overseas once in a while to cool off and for medical check ups. Quote me any day. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade. Nigeria is a third world country where things taken for granted like good roads, electricity, clean water, etc become big deals. With very high unemployment rate, how can one say Nigeria is close to El Dorado? Even if you are comfortable, the level of poverty and suffering around could be depressing and unsettling. No man is an island. "Everything has a price" is not the hallmark of a decent society. The price you are willing to pay, someone will be willing to pay more. That breeds anarchy, oppression and insecurity. It is illegal to possess assault rifle but herdsmen are fully strapped with AK-47 because everything has a price. Engaging a Nigerian in a debate will usually end up about money. Money is here and will always be after we die. Do you still wonder why Nigeria is a sh!thole and the citizens are regarded as almost worthless in every other country? / |
velai:/ The town involved is hated by all and themselves for obvious reasons. Their ladies are overripe with no suitors willing to take the risk because of the devilish myth(?) surrounding the town. / |
Amagite3:What racism? Who cares if she doesn't like black people? The only ones we are concerned about are the ones in positions that could affect people adversely by killing, maiming, denial of justice or employment. Otherwise, black people don't and shouldn't care about everyone that makes disparaging remarks about them. / |
/ Sarrki, Omenkalives and Ngeneukwuenu...Food is ready! Keywords: IPOB, Biafra, Igbo, Nnamdi Kanu These few words usually get them out of hibernation whether BMC alert shows or not. // |
It is a carryover from religion. Nigerian youths are characteristically very docile, nonchalant, gullible and too easy to impress. They expect miracles where critical thinking is necessary thus breeding intellectual laziness, mental degradation and abysmal application of learned principles. They have no foundation to handle diplomacy and doggedness needed in politics. The best thing is to hand them weapons so that they can systematically self-annihilate. Emphasis mine. / |
Amicable22:It is better to have a gun and don't need it than need a gun but don't have it. / |
/ He is only a bad guy because he got caught. Put hidden cams to monitor your Daddy and Mommy G.Os, and what will be recorded may be worse. Religion is a temple of hypocrisy. The only thing sustaining it is the free flow of cash. / |
Guestlander:/ Forget the past and the deal with the present. There is a clear and present danger about to destroy you but you would rather argue about history. Person wey im house dey burn no suppose dey pursue rat. |
ice4u999:/ It is sad that you reduced everything about life and living to only naira and kobo. It is not always about money. / |
ice4u999:You are stressed overseas and find succour in Nigeria? Something does not add up. There will always be exceptions. Perhaps...that's you. It doesn't make much sense to stress to make money and go through stress to enjoy it. I am the only member of my family that goes to Nigeria (sometimes 4x in a year) to keep eyes on things. Everyone's idea of fun is different. I don't enjoy the restrictions that moving about in Nigeria warrants. It is a kill joy. By the way, Nigeria is not the best place to invest. There are opportunities in Nigeria just like anywhere else. It depends on how much risk any given individual is willing and capable of taking. \ |
FastShipping:/ It is nothing about throwing shades. I know folks that have mansions in Nigeria thst they stay in only about 2 weeks every two years. Someone well adapted in an organized society tend to have only emotional attachment to Nigeria. Some people stopped going frequently after their old parents passed away. I think a member here (Egunmogaji) mentioned that wifey and children do not want to move to Nigeria. Many people face the same dilemma. So why would any sane person in such situation sink funds in Nigeria just to impress God-knows-who? Building a house in Nigeria for a diasporan living in US should be done with some loose change. It is not about affordability but prioritizing of wants. Personally, Nigeria starts boring the hell out of me after 2 weeks. When I get bored, I start building just for fun. So person wey wan shade person here get im own mouth. Nigeria as a place no get joy at all in all indices of life. Quote me any day. / |
FluidQueen:It is ok. When there is a hostage situation and they are negotiating for the release of women and children, I expect all the feminists to stay back with the men to eschew preferential treatment. Until then, feminists remain a bunch of frustrated, attention-seeking, low-life losers in my dictionary. No lady of substance belongs to the Feminists' organizations. The irony of it is that the "Feminists" move one step forward and fellow ladies move them three steps backward. / |
If you are a PEP(Politically Exposed Person), give money to the likes of Mompha to buy your dream car. He makes noise about it to create awareness. Then six months later, the car is shipped down to Nigeria. When EFCC comes, the car was not bought by you. It was a gift from a friend named Mompha. Everyone knows that Mompha owns the car -- it is on Instagram! EFCC has no case against Mompha who is a conduit pipe in far away Dubai outside the jurisdiction of EFCC. Yep! Like the pastor that bought a Rolls Royce and claimed that it was a gift from the members of the choir. Or as Diezani had people buy high-end furnitures with their credit cards for her as "gifts". Money laundering comes in different formats. In developed nations, they will want to see the income statement and tax return of Mompha. But trust launderers, they know where to operate. Not saying that he couldn't, but things are not always what they seem. Money launderers love bank managers and operators of BDC-- people who can move money under the radar. / |
Omooba77:Practical Christianity! No need telling followers to fast and pray. Go and vote. Let God do the rest. If he really he talks to God, shouldn't he already know the outcome of the election? Or does God only discuss tithes with him? / |
Yet no mention of building/upgrading the refineries. Nigeria is a lost case. .Mark you age today. Twenty years from today, you will still be dealing with the same problems. Folks from the 70s and 80s relied on prayers and hope without lifting a finger. Today they are still seeing the same corruption, bad roads, no electricity, etc that Fela sang about in the 70s. History is repeating itself. |
All you merchants of heaven/hell, did you notice the name of thr church? CHRIST EMBASSY LIMITED. It is a business venture not soul-saving church as many are being led to believe. UK government forces them to submit to financial audit unlike in Nigeria where they are untouchable. / |
