/ It should be easy win for the Nigerian team. It depends on the coach. Just tell the participants to think of the fuel scarcity, price of rice and Fulani herdsmen... ...then pretend that the opponent is Buhari. / |
alade112:Some of you love to argue from your rear end. With unstable power supply, why would anyone add to the company's overhead by installing elevators? Some do it but it is an aberration. Nigeria is grossly underdeveloped. Imagine a situation where many 4 and 5- storey buildings have elevators in Nigeria. That is one train wreck waiting to happen. No sane being would get into any of them. Generators are not the solution to power problems. Nigeria is a basket case. In advanced countries, there are some probabilities of getting stuck in elevators. But in Nigeria, it is a guarantee. Therein lies the difference. / |
Lakside1955:/ It is called principle. An attribute no Nigerian possesses. Everything in Nigeria boils down to money. Yes! Money they don't have. / |
/ Now this is inspirational... From grass to grace. Not the Paddy Adenuga's story. / |
/ They have been paid to stay calm to see how 2019 plays out. This is just a charade. / |
kopell:Anytime you go shopping with the guy that will do the work, just know that you are being cheated. It is an unwritten rule. It only takes a "coded" look at the seller to understand that you are game. The guy will go back the same day or next to collect his share. Don't bother going to the seller they recommend. And if you are talking about plumbing or electrical materials, he is definitely bringing some back to the seller at high discount prices. Win-win for them. You just cannot win. / |
tobtap:Because your leaders worship foreigners and through your country and her citizens to the dogs does not warrant the disparaging remarks on leaders who place the interests of their nations above all. Migrants in developed nations are treated like second class citizens unlike Nigeria where they are worshipped as demigods. / |
OreMI22:/ The biggest setback for US-ENU flight is the total time of travel. The layover duration at Addis-Ababa airport is too much. I wonder who will waste 12hrs layover in Ethiopia. The same goes for Virgin Atlantic. They have almost 24hrs layover in London in LOS-LAX itinerary. Ethiopian airline is competing with Turkish airline on which will waste passengers' time on unnecessary layover hours. But Air France, KLM, Delta will get you to your destination with minimal layover hours. That means a lot. It seems that people on the East coast have better luck with Ethiopian airline. |
Daboomb:/ You work hard to make money. You work had to initiate a project. Now you work extra hard to monitor "vultures" Yet they all cry "corruption is bad" Will it help to go buy building materials with Amadioha or Sango? / |
They probably paid the boys to stand down until after the election. If Buhari wins, they come back to continue the attempt to colonize other regions. And if Buhari loses, they will blow Nigeria back to the stone age. It is a lose-lose situation. Until Shekau (the proverbial cat with nine lives) is in custody or publicly executed by his sponsors, Boko Haram remains intact. This is the first condition that must be met before bringing up defeat. / |
Karma at work! Igbo people fleeing the pogrom in the North were massacred by the people considered the Middle Belt. And here we are. They are being massacred by their masters and made refugees in their domain. Oh well. This life sef. Let them enjoy themselves. \ |
Buhari was removed by IBB. He didn't have the time to steal/loot like his counterparts IBB, Abacha and OBJ. He was dejected and depressed. Now that he finally cried his way back to the Aso Rock, he has to retire richer and wealthier than the others. Gullible Nigerians thought it was all about them all these while. Dude is making up for previous mistakes and missed opportunities. / |
LordAdam16:Address the issue with the respect with the dude that wants to retire. Stop personalizing stuff. The tally is coming in. Bitcoin wiped out $500 billion in the last 3 sessions. It doesn't have to be life savings. Why waste money on obviously flawed scheme? / |
/ How many soakaway collapse do we record in Nigeria in a year? Some built with columns while others did not. But they are all standing. I believe soil type has a lot to do with it. Building a soakaway in swampy Lekki or PHC may not be the same as building in rocky town of Suleja. But for a house, there are standard practices that must be adhered to. In all, when in doubt, go for the industry's best practices. |
LordAdam16:Dumb f*ck? Thanks for the compliments. The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent. How much are you down? Knock yourself out. / |
Andrewgame42:/ When ifa priest starts scamming people, he will also be mocked. No Nigerian is abusing Adeboye and Oyedepo as individuals. They are being abused for scam, false doctrines and hypocrisy. \ |
How would someone take a look at the man in the picture and give him some money? Dude looks like an old school p.i.m.p. Can rapture just happen already? / |
einsteine:As decentralized as MMM right? I heard this argument many times with the MMM suckers. This is how it works: Initial buyers get in. Market rises. Investors take notice and dive in. Towards the top, the noise becomes louder. Analysts come with bogus calls and predictions. Smart money take their money off the table. Retailers come and buy into the hype. With COT data available, they know how retailers are positioned. They short the hell out of the market. It goes down. More retailers buy into the hype. It goes up and then melts down. Check the historic charts of indices, gold, oil, crypto. It is the same pattern. Will it ever go up? May be, but the market can stay irrational longer than investors/retailers can stay solvent. Haven't you heard that before? Yes. Central banks have rained on cryptos' parade. Singapore talked, it tanked. China talked, the same thing happened. The same goes for India. Even our dear CBN is issuing warnings. DO NOT EVER GO AGAINST CENTRAL BANKS!. They have more in their financial arsenal than any group of investors. They can start with verbal intervention. There is emotion in the market. The more it goes down, panic sets in and people bail. Or worse, depending on the market, there will be forced liquidations and margin calls for margin traders. Yep. That is money gone! For US residents, they cannot write off their losses. BUt they will be taxed in their profits. Sucks right? You cannot be talking about anything finance in the global arena and not involve central banks. Some companies offered ICOs (initial coin offerings). Yep! So much for anonymity. But you are at liberty to believe whatever you want. Why do I even bother? It is your money, suit yourself. In the last 24hrs, bitcoin has shelved $2,358 and is sitting at $5925. Some suckers bought at $19000. You are talking about a fad not backed by anything. I don't want to discuss other "pump and dump" scams going on in the other little known "mom and pop" cryptos (just like penny stocks with small capitalization). LOL. If the TL support around 5900+ area breaks, it is over! This is the last battle line. / |
/ So it is a crime to earn an honest living? These are the Nigerians that want CHANGE. / |
einsteine:Bitcoin is the leader and that's what comes to mind when you mention crypto. A rising tide takes everything up with it and vice versa. All the mom and pop crypto out there are on pump and dump mechanism. How do I explain it? When MMM was dying, there were many MMMish gimmicks that were started but they are withered away with MMM. The same format is playing out. Major governments of the world are going against cryptos. From Singapore, China, India to US. The main rule in financial investment is " Don't fight the Central banks" / |
/ What happens if you put the sticker on Buhari? |
millionboi2:/ Brain work is still work. They work. They are billionaires and there are other billionaires and shareholders invested in their ventures that they answer to when necessary. Zuckerberg is worth billions by valuation doesn't mean that he has the billions in a vault somewhere. Comparing an ocean with a pond? The OP cannot afford it. I hope he is not married. / |
sabanageorge:That's a big gamble as crypto is likely to enter into multi years of ranging. Take a cue from gold (parabolic rise followed by irrational exuberance, and now ranging). The sad part is that no matter how frugal you are, your fund cannot sustain you. You will be surprised at how many people hate their jobs but still have to do it. If Bill Gates, Dangote, Zuckerberg still wake up to go to work, I don't see why you shouldn't. Money is a limited resource. By the way, crypto is played out. It will die a natural death. Smart money moved funds out in Nov/December. Retail investors will be left holding the bag. History has ways of repeating itself. Crypto is a fad and a gamble. It is never an investment. Like MMM, I expect the noise about crypto to die this year. In less than a month, it went from $10k to $19k. In less than a month, it went from $19k to $7.5k. I feel sorry for retailers. / |
Buhari's brain belongs to the 20th century. No nation deserves to be punished with an illiterate and uninspiring leader. Nothing tangible or intangible was achieved in the last 3 years. Even the fight against corruption has turned out to be a sham. How I wish Tunde Idiagbon is the one in Aso Rock. But they killed him a long time ago. Just like in the 80s, Buhari is just a numbskull the North is using to fill their quota. Nemo dat quod non habet. / |

EgunMogaji: ![]() Just because of you. / Does it even make sense that someone will be talking in mm in a project as big as a house? Try marking in mm and see errors in measurements everywhere. Inches will be pardonable. US does not use SI units and their buildings are not collapsing. As a matter of dissent, I don't want to use SI units or US system anymore, I want Nigeria's units of measurement. Nigerian engineers and mathematicians show your faces! Don't even get me started with Quantity Surveyors. Let's say it is the worst way I had wasted money. \ |
Evasmil4:Not looking for work. I usually convert back to inches. They are all units of measurement of length. You say 254mm. I say 10 inches. Both lengths are the same. Everyone is happy. I am beefing SI unit. I think mm creates a lot of room for errors. If it is cm, I will understand. |
Benue people should continue dealing with the herdsmen while the unnecessary talking and blame games continue. They will be silly to turn in their weapons of defense. That's all. . |
Good information. Verily...there is something about mm that irritates me. I find inches more appropriate. / |
EgunMogaji:I read through the thread. It is indeed very funny. Spyder880 in stock market? Now in realty. It seems that anywhere there is money to be made, Spyder shows up. That's the spirit my brother. Kudos! |
Ayodejioak:It is not about comfort. It is a choice of career. The same way some people wonder why a multimillionaire will be an armed robber. In life, some chose to be tailors, traders, teachers while others chose to be beggars, pimps and robbers. Each group use whatever tools necessary to achieve their goals. Here, the beggar chose deformed children to maximize profit. You are considering the humane side of it while the perpetrators are looking at the financial side of it. Because you cannot do it does not mean others cannot and that includes robbery, professional begging and scamming others. There are millions of what you call comfortable people that do not make N25k per day in Nigeria. That is about N750k in a month. These "uncomfortable" fellas are pulling in more than majority of graduates. And you dare call them uncomfortable because you met them in the field. / |
The US Constitution we claim to have copied was made in such a way that the three arms of government can check the excesses of one another. It is very evident in the way the courts overturned President Trump's immigration policy. What we have in Nigeria is a nation where sycophancy has been elevated to an art. From nairaland to the general population, folks do not know their right and are more comfortable going with the most popular opinion. What is the job of the National Assembly and the Judiciary? They kept mute why Buhari moved like an elephant in a glass shop. Everyone keeps quiet until the likes of Kanu or in this case OBJ starts pointing out anomalies. Then the bandwagon effect takes over. Wetin concern me sef? / |
