Fhemmmy:What is the meaning of money, if there is no partner to enjoy it with. What is the joy of order if there is no chaos. |
etinbaba:poor chidren, your govt will never care, they may try to deny the story, citing hatered by foreigners. |
Different tribes and religions here means over a hundred ways of negotiating bride price. Some families take nothing, some accept commodities while others still will take raw cash. Some families will do 'pay as you go' in this case, they wont take money from you at first but you will be paying indirect tax forever. |
Did you find any famillies with that surname? Not only in Owerri but surrounding towns. |
gadogado:The north and south have the same problem, the same set of clueless, toothless, gutless old men are still trying to steer our destiny. None of the old men said anything about our vote counting, our collective potential or our future. All they keep thinking is about their diminishing egos. We need to wake up and seize our destiny from these old men who decieved our fathers and are still around to mislead our children. Enough is enough. We dont hate the north, just let those elders mind their business and not overheat the polity. |
It will be of immense help if you gather more details about your dad. His real name and the town or village in Owerri is required. Then you can pay a visit to probe further or pay someone to pursue the leads. Another important stuff is his picture, this will juggle the memory of people from that area. |
Andre Uweh:Put your head inside the freezer near you for five minutes, remove your head and take a deep breath, then reread your post. Andre Uweh:You watched a live festival of Ozuruimo from NTA ABA in 1993, you probably bought the video for proof sake. Baba, you are guilty of watchery! |
Have you heard of tototasters? Guys who believe every chic in the street should be investigated, to know how her 'kini' look and feel? |
kokoye:Sorry if thats the way it sounded, every Nigerian dating a foreigner is not doing it for the greencard/ residency permit, we are the most loving men since the days of St Valentine. And what a sparkling image we got abroad! |
kokoye:Good advice, but a little bit of reality thinking does'nt hurt either. |
Andre Uweh:Sorry to burst your bubble brother, I have watched closely a masquerade dance where majic is practiced. They made a very tight little basket and poured well mixed starch solution inside. It was almost like a cellophane bag sealing every crack in the basket, and yes, it was used to drink pammy! The problem is that little children like you who watch only TV believe every fallacy uttered by illiterate old folks in the villages. |
tshepiso:Nollywood stories dont fall from rooftops, sometimes they happen so clearly you'll think the script was written for you. Enjoy your marriage lady. |
This country still have issues with ethno-religious politcs. The day we grow above this 'my brother can do no wrong' mentality, then we have hit the freeway to a prosperous country. |
They are all too rich to try, they dont need the 1m dollars 'change', remember they have another minting machine in ritual money, hissssss! |
@gorociano, na wao, any woman who follows your advice will have to be very circumspect. Such women have a very looooong shelf life. Sometimes just ignore a few negatives to focus on the more positives to stay sane. |
Nigeria is improving in tourism through religious pilgrimages. Dont our govt pay cash for our citizens to visit other countries to experience religious peace of mind? TB Joshua should carry go, he will balance the equation and attract the elusive tourism dollars. |
Pardon me if am wrong, but the topic is about juju and our 'personal' experience of it? Then why all these invasion of philosophers, psychologists, atheists, christians, muslims, hindu, buddists? Please lets stick to the point and not derail this thread, juju will always exist in the minds of those that thinks it exist, nowhere else. I have explanations for everything that have ever happened to me, for some people though, they let others read meanings into all their affairs for them. Make good profit and they will say its juju. Have a llittle accident and someone will tell you enemies are in action, fall sick of malaria and people will suggest a native doctor. |
MRbrownJAY:The last sentence is wrong, 9ja marrages have a more success rate tthan that of other countries. There is more love in naija, only a few breakups. |
Ijebu this Igbira that, where I come from, my people are supposed to hold the lead in juju production in the whole state. But my village has lost 90% of their shrines since the past twenty years due to christianity, land disputes and new buildings. Shrines are disapearing because more people are starting to notice that it dont contain no powers. The jujumen have fled for lack of clients, as more educated men spring up and question the efficacy of juju, the jujumen have found another vocation, churches and prayer houses! |
What about 'shoot e no enter, odeshi' etc. The only reason you dont get to hear those that come foward to tell you it failed is that they would have been shot dead by the time they get to discover that the juju didnt work. Some armed robbers who did the charms had some of their gang cut down by police bullets and they came back and shot the native doctor to deatth. Some said you have to kill the babalawo who did the juju to make sure he dont 'undo' what he did when you leave the shrine. Reality check; why do our police still die daily from armed robbery attacks if it is possible for them to have 'native cover' ? The soldiers sef? Lets leave matter for mathias jare, all na fallacy, ancient tales fabricated to keep youngsters in check in those old days when there was no strong laws. Next story, Magun. |
deniyor:But she doesnt need help na! The woman in our story was sobbing on another man's shoulders and the man 'helped' her and her life has never remained the same since. |
oisehumen:Its called HELP, the guy is keeping the woman 'warm' and consoling her for her bad marriage. Wish men will be this nice to all hurting females, reduces the rate of suicide. |
More juju stories, please enjoy, A girl falls in love with a dope head, cannot help herself to leave the guy even aginst the advice of friends and family, responsible, richer, more handsome suitors were turned down by this girl all because of the useless boy. The parents are asked to see a native doctor to seperate them and insead of the man to use couseling to solve the problem, he accuses the girl of having water spirits that make her so stubborn. The parents will be made to pay heavy sums plus white lizards and blue tortoise to offer to the gods of the water to correct her head. Miskakes. A man will try for 20 yrs doing business the same poor way and getting, you guessed it, the same poor results. Then some cheats who double as agents for the native doctors meet you in your shop and offer to make your situation change. They will tell the man that every other rich man goes 'somewhere' for their powers to magnet money. Then you go there and the native doctor calls your name and tells you your life history (his agent had filled him in) you will be told that your prosperity is tied by one toothless grannie in your village because he had a quarrel with your parents. Then you will be billed for the treatment, the agent will get his cut and chikena! You will get a juju to tie around your waist, like a monkey before you enter your shop daily. Do you think thats the end of the tori, naaa, the poor trader will continue to get poorer results because he is having powerless charms and a false hope, he will go back for more juju, and still more. When they get tired of your questions about why you are still not successul, they ask you to bring a pregnank snake! Na wao, if all else fails you will be told to go and cut off the head of a virgin for rituals. Some cut heads and remain poor, then to make you run from them, you will be asked to kill your mum or son. More stories later. |
lastpage:My age, early thirties. But all views about juju doesnt seem to have any link to reality. Them say- them say, thats all you will ever hear and if you ask for proof, you will be frightened away. Once in my younger years, we were decorating a masquerade for xmas and the other village kids were telling me that a noisy metal staff makes people imobile if its placed in front of them. I asked them to test it on me and they came up with many excuses why it wont work on me. They even started frightening me. A herbalist who has been helping people use charms to 'remote' their children back from abroad has got his child stuck in foreign land for 17 yrs now. Why cant the juju help him? Did you say only the deep understand the deep? Okay, just tell your freemason friends to help you find a solution to Nigeria's problems or help the US to arrest Bin Ladin. |
Since most people that do business in naija dont live well, you people may want you to stay away. Its not good for a family if all siblings live in naija. Some should stay there. |
Dont let your parents vex and swear for you. If they ask for it, allow them go there but if not, let them stay where they can see their grand children. I also think that the growth of these homes is fuelled by urban squeeze where there are not enough homes to go round. Most parents that built and own houses here will prefare to live in their houses so you can only hire workers for the oldie in his or her house. |
Okay, another story which someone here with me just told me now. A wife had to act like a sister for the duration of a marriage where it was really her husband who was wedding. The man sleeps with the foreign babe in the afternoon and leaves her in the hotel to go home and service his real wife at night under the guise of family meetings. The wife had been convinced to cooperate since its for their own future good. What can povertynot cause. |
Hmmmmmm, just curious but, a cross river man who you cook egusi and bitter leaf soup for could turn out to be an Ibo man married in Anambra and wants his papers in southie. Cross River people eat edikaikong and afang soups. Sorry if I startle you but a yoruba man has wed an european in Enugu and we all were made to act like its his home while she was around. The yoruba man is from ogun and has four kids before he travelled. |
Sleeping in different rooms is good for younger, child bearing couples. Think of the disturbance of the babies, must the child keep the two sleepless at once? But as the kids grow and the age of the parents advance, its better to share rooms, one of the couple can help each other during health problems, like noticing when your partner is having a seizure, stroke or even attacks. |
