See, I'll work hard to better myself and become a great father for my kids( that's if I get married)
But i swear on my life, that man will see hell from my hand.

ProgrammingRe: Why Leaving Nigeria Must Be Your Utmost Priority As A Programmer by inyanging: 9:06pm On Aug 19, 2021
tensazangetsu20:
Bros trust me once I leave this country I wilk never come back and I will lay a curse on my generations. Anyone who decides to come back to Africa will die immediately he lands in African country. I shall lay the curse naked. Walai and I also tell my children the same thing. Anyday they return to where I have struggled to escape from they will die.

There's really no job in Nigeria I can come for. Maybe before I became a programmer you can say so. But all the money I make from programming it's white men. Infact my present skillset and how good I am now was my boss that took me under his mentorship and taught me so much. He's a white man. I have brought In two young Nigerians both juniors into the same company and he's also all teaching us. The same people were rejected by companies in Nigeria but na oyinbo man still come give them chance. Through his mentorship I have gone to work on projects that are used by billion dollar companies. Billion with a b o. As for political position, you can forget it. I will never ever contest to Be a politician in the zoo. I never even did my nysc after graduation so that disqualifies me and I don't give a Bleep.

There's really nothing Nigeria has given me I can say yes thank God I am a Nigerian. My university education wasn't even in Nigeria. As for working in Nigeria. I have only worked with a Nigerian company for two months and that was it the rest of my work has been with companies based abroad.

Secondary Citizen lol maybe for other professions not for programmers O. You don't know what is going on now. The tech industry is basically an employee's market now. This other countries I am talking about. Their salaries might not be USA level but they are ten times higher than Nigeria. I won't pay rent. Food will be given to me. This was stated explicitly at the interviews I have done so basically my salary will just be a pocket money. You can feel the desperation in their eyes even during interviews.

As for my family I really wish them well. The only thing I will do is build a house in Ghana for my mom and dad to stay in and bring my sister over immediately she graduates but as for Nigeria once I am done that's it. Even if I come to Africa to visit I will go to another African country and then the person who wants to see me will come there.
If I have not worked with expatriates and their comments in regard to blacks I will be accepting Ur posits but , those expatriates time without numbers said the preferred black coming to America with root with their people than those trying to claim America BC of good Life , ,SECONDARY CITIZENS CARRIES TAG TAG,for get that mentality, Nigeria is the next thing in this CENTURY, CHINA, UK,AMERICA ETC ,SIGNING, MOU,AGREEMENT, BILATERAL TALK POINT TO ONE GOAL '" AFRICA IS THE FUTURE, AND NIGERIA THE VERY ENGINE"

Jobs/VacanciesRe: What It Was Like To Tell My Kids I Lost My Job by inyanging: 6:56pm On Jun 02, 2021
Robertkenny:
Mrs. Juliet

I was with my husband on March 31st, it was 3 or 4 o’clock in the afternoon and I took a phone call from the owner of my company, the president and COO. He informed me that my position was being eliminated.

Significant changes had to be made to the small, family-owned business I worked for due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Coming from leadership, I understand. I worked for Skymack communications, a publishing company here in Lagos, for over 13 years. I was senior vice president of operations, client service and account management. The majority of the clients I worked with were in the airline space, so Covid-19 had huge impact on the area of the business I managed.

Even though being let go is not a personal issue for me, when you get that call from your boss, it’s quite a shock to the system.
I love the people that I worked with. And I have never been unemployed.

This was a first for me, and I had to tell my kids.
The first person I told was my husband. We went for a walk because I just wanted to takeout bad thought and feel free. It’s so overwhelming that you don’t want to think about the “What if”.

I cried when I told my husband, but it wasn’t sadness that I felt. I didn’t feel a connection to my job title such that it was a loss of my sense of self. It was more, “Well, what am I going to do now?” Or maybe it was because you have to say those words: “I’ve been laid off.” I never said those words before.

But I didn’t actually tell my two girls, who are 12 and 16, for almost a full 48hours. I just sat with it first. I was thinking, “How am I going to tell them that I have been laid off”?.

My girls have seen me get up and go to work their whole lives. I don’t believe they tied me as a person to my job, but they do understand that my job provides money for the family to live.

I was really trying to figure out, how do I tell them without scaring them? And how will I keep a level of composure?.

The third day I told them. Schools in Lagos were closed, so my daughters were homeschooling. I called them into the living room, sat down and told them that I had been let go from my position at work. I was crying while telling them.

They both sort of looked at me and they said, “Well, what does that mean for us?”

How you handle yourself is everything when it comes to how they’re going to respond, so I immediately composed myself.
“Well, we’re probably going to have to make some changes initially, but as a parent let I and your dad focus on that. I don’t want you to worry about that” I said.

My eldest daughter got angry and frustrated at my employer. “Aren’t you important? Don’t they think you’re valuable?” she asked with a sad face.

“I am valuable” I said. But my value has nothing to do with my job. I’m valuable for a lot of other reasons.”

“I will find a job that makes me happier, a place to work that values me, a place where I want to be” I said. The girls asked questions about money too. I have a loan to pay and other bills. “Yeah, we’re going to have to make some changes, for me to be able to pay back” I said.

“I’m going to have to really work to get another job or figure out what my next move is” I said.

For now we’re good. My girls and I are stable and we’re happy. We have made some changes towards managing most things around us. For instance with food shopping, we are not particularly frivolous, but now we are much more careful.

Also there is no “I need does cloths just because they’re beautiful or I want to do online shopping for me and my girls”. They know they need to be conscientious about what they ask for. And they have been fantastic without reminder.

And I have not stopped my job search, but I am not obsessing. Right now everything is fine, but that won’t last forever. So I am trying to determine what my new normal is going to be.

Thank you Bogger for sharing my story

Have you ever lost any job that makes you think twice? Please share your story.

There is no need bringing people who don’t like others into another nation and have another useless country like Nigeria. We can’t force others into it, that’s hypocrisy, akin to doing what the useless dream killer Nigeria is doing and people of good conscience shouldn’t be part of it.
However, it would also be good for people down south to fight together and liberate themselves from Nigeria first and then to your tents oh Israel.

Getting a degree is not a waste of time. It’s high time we stop faulting education for our own deficiencies. Some go to the university to get a degree in Animal Husbandry, some in International Relationship and lots of irrelevant courses in our society. And such individual will later blame government and education for not getting a job after graduation. No. It doesn’t work that way. We should be conscious of the kind of courses we pursue when desperate for admission. Out of desperation; I opted for Biochemistry while I was a jambite. I had to leave in my 200L for a health related course in a college of health. It wasn’t an easy decision but I had to follow advice and now I have no regret coz I’ll finish my degree in the same career next year. I’m not certain about getting a job instantly but I know I’ll definitely get one someday and not too long cos the local, State and federal government can not employ into the hospital management board without hiring my discipline. So pls, we should know the kind of society we lives in before filling and accepting admission offer. I have friends who later got their degree in Med Lab and didn’t stay 3 month at home before he secured a facility to work (Though Private) but at least; it puts decent food on his table. Education again isn’t all about been hired for labor after graduation. It’s to enlighten us and prepare us to be independent. Many times, I follow people to say “school na scam” but deep down I know it is not. School is never and will never be a waste of time and resources. But we should chose our discipline wisely. Don’t go for some secular courses with no relevance in our contemporary society. You can’t compare someone who studies Office Management or even Business administration to someone who got his degree in Radiology or Dentistry. No. They are very different. So pls let’s be wise

I don't agree to Ur submission, two courses u mentioned are all lucrative profession , is it animal husbandry, employment in peak milk farm @ jos , is only comparable to major oil company, ,talk of working in foreign Embassies for International Relation graduates I'd very juicy. All courses are relevance to human, existence & development, It is the application of the acquired knowledge in solving Humans needs that place relevance to it

Seyi Shay : She is actually the most competent of the lot
as much as she is the most vilified. Also, she is very
open regarding her thoughts and on the rare occasion
where she says yes to a contestant because of bias,
she actually owns up to the bias i.e looks, personality
etc. However, her cynical laughs while contestants
were performing during the earlier phase of the
auditions were very unprofessional. She improved on
this as the show wore on. She could also learn the art
of not using absolute terms to describe unsuccessful
contestants cos she doesn't know the future e.g you
can NEVER make money by singing.
Obi Asika: I like him the most cos of his mature
amiable demeanour. But he never seemed to have his
own opinion. Always deferring to Seyi or Sose. Heard
"like Seyi said, Like Sose said" thousands of times from
him already. It's sickening. "There's a voice or
something in there somehow, but like Seyi said.. "
Dammit! Own up to your own thoughts man. But he
improved a bit in this area during the last session.
DJ Sose: This guy successfully deceived me into
thinking he knew about the technical aspect of music.
As the show wore on it became obvious that he was a
rookie. I've seen many a technically bad vocal
performance, and you'd see Sose nodding his head
along sweetly in approval. Then when Seyi blurts out
the catastrophic aspects of the song, Mr Sose will then
change tune to " You've got some lungs in there, but
you're not Idol material " Biko are you a tailo

MY OBSERVATION:

Really Obi has no say of his only I concor man

Seyi allowed jealousy to have greater part of her judgments

Sose his partiality is so glaring
