moHot: wicked why call him a dumba$$$ this is a superman you know
I said it with love. Love. I actually like that guy. That's why I am hoping he reunites with that awesome chick. Imagine, some ho.r.ny wretch texts a dirty message to your man, and you're supposed to thank her kindly and smile broadly. Shi!t, I'd like to see some heffa try that with my future husband. Get ready to throw down! The only person the awesome chick could get her hands on was the dude. And she did what any loving marriage-material future mother of your children would do: try to help that naive man see the light. So, yeah, I certainly didn't mean to insult Ojeycombo.
It's the OP and his gang I'm not crazy about. That amateur boxer needs serious help.
Sugardiva: Chei poverty mentality that naija men have no be here, I swear! So a girl breaks ur phn, u brk her jaw? The jaw of a living breathing woman is equivalent to the value of a mere bb? I no blame all d naija guys here. Na poverty dey worry una. If not u will be able to differentiate btw the value of things and the value of life.
And to all of y'all dissing female lawyers. Is that intimidation or inferiority complex i hear in ur tone? Or is it just plain stupidity? Rilli trying to figure out which it is. After reading this thread i realize that 80% of naija men dont deserve to be husbands, BFs or even FWB. The 20% that are are endangeared species. God help us.
Don't mind them. I just look at it like, these are Nairaland guys, not the typical Naija man. Imagine beating up a woman? For what? She didn't even lay a hand on him! I once saw a relative land two hot slaps on her husband, a body-builder who was raised in a military household by the toughest of the tough Naija soldiers. It was like feathers to him. He didn't lay a hand on her - he just went to hold her wrist before she landed a third!. And some of these guys applauding the OP are so proud of "fighting" a smaller and weaker person than them.
ojeycombo: Op, people will always have diversed views to issues like this. However, one thing you should know his this, "PATIENCE" is the mother of all virtue (i know that maxim is stale). Quite frankly, you were stretched beyond your elastic limit; and you got irritated in the process. But beating your lady in the feat of anger could do more harm than good. i sha knw sey girls get bad mouth and dem fit mumu u, but it doesnt mean you should use the "iron" fist on that tender creature If you want to box and flex muscles, come to daddy then Having said that, we can not continue to wallow in who did what or what warranted what. You need to call your woman to order. Apologise where necessary, placate her indignation and appease her sincerely. Shed off your ego and be that "REAL" man she fell in love with. As Killz right put, we dont even know if u were the Offender in the first place. therefore, you should know the best way to "catch" her back, unless you dont Love her anymore, Babe Beater!
You think she frustrated you, let me give you a short story, and you tell me what you would have done in that situation: Last year my girl was suspecting another girl with me. Quite frankly i know the girl in question liked me to a fault, but i never entertained any reason to date her. One night, i was even having fever and insomnia, i had to take sleeping drugs to enable me have a good rest in preparation for the work week. My girl picked up my phone and seat the girl a very romantic text msg in this form "hi Swthrt, i feel like making love to you this night. Been longing to rili feel you deeply" (abeg if u never pass 18 no read o ); and the lady replied "I can imagine you handling my b**bs and getting deep, ". You can imagine the rest of it. Anyway, my girl was so infuriated that she woke me up with a hard slap on the back, accusing me of infidelity, PART 1. (To be continued)
ojeycombo: PART 2: , she was so angry she asked i got up and tell her the eaxct truth. i felt a little off balance coz i was down. i insisted we spoke about it the next day. Take note, the time here is about 1am, and i was supposed to get up @ 4:30am in preparation for work. I work on the island and live in Ogba. you can imagine how tough it was for me. when i saw that she is not ready to burge to my plea, i asked what she wanted me to say again, after she had sent the text, and gotten her expected response. i was only but smiling when i received 2-HOT SLAPS on my cheek! saying "I am talking seriously and you are laughing at me". O mo! the sleep clear one time!! i saw starts mehn!!! that kind of slap that is given to armed-robbers. I didnt touch her; i just went back to the bed, coz i was feeling rili dizzy. As if that was not enough, she went to wear i hung my Suits (as a Banker), packed it all, opened the door and soaked them inside a dirty bowl of water. i ran after her and quickly removed them from her hand so they don't get entirely soaked. I was drained that night, i swear! i still cautioned myself from reacting.
Guess what she did again, she took that SIM card and chewed it ( not so bad for an angry lady though), went to some of my Trousers on the hanger, pciked a new blade, and tored them neatly. about 7 of it. She smashed my DVD player and Play Station 3 game on the floor. i still didnt touch her. i quickly grabbed her and asked if she was hypnotised or in a trance or something. She pushed me away. When i later checked the time, it was already 4am in the morning. i couldn't sleep anymore. I went to have my bath, picked one of the damped suits and left her while she was already realising her "madness". I was all messed up in the office throughout that day,
Till today, she and a lot of friends have been begging me to forgive her. All i do is just smile and continue my daily activities of a better tomorrow. I really loved her, but she has abused that feeling. It does not mean i should kill her. Your greatest judge is your conscience.
So, Nairaland dudes, what would you have done in this situation is it the financial "set back" on things she destroyed no matter how small it is, PATIENCE and WISDOM bro. that is the name of the game, if u need to "survive" Hasta lavista!!!
Dude, you are soooo foolish!
Lemme tell you why.
You broke up with the best chick you will ever have. Run after her, act cool, tell her you'll forgive her and you two can try again. The whole time, inside of you, you know you are so ready to take her back and even take it to the next level - Marriage. Yes! Marriage. You see, this is the kind of mother you want for your children. Why? In a place like Nigeria where you send your toddlers to nursery school and they come back beaten black and blue by a crazed teacher. Imagine this chick confronting such a teacher? One time and no one will ever lay their hands on your children again. The legend will travel past your town even. This is an awesome woman. (She is not a violent woman, unlike the OP and his NL posse who are egging him on.) Don't ruin your future by losing her o.
Anyway, what did you expect her to do? Some slut texts a sexy message to you, and you expect her to simply invite the woman over? Lailai!
The story is very faulty the way you relayed it. You claim she hit you multiple times. Didn't you also say you were groggy from drugs and seeing stars?
So she first "tapped" you on the back. Big deal. When you didn't wake up, she lightly slapped you on the cheek - similar to the way we're told to do when someone appears unconscious. Then the second "slap" to the cheek was probably because you appeared to be in shock - that's another thing you;re supposed to do to calm down agitated people. All she wanted was to help you talk it out, warn you about this harlot that might try to ruin your career, huh? So your clothes got wet? She didn't want you going to work all drugged up; she'd rather you called in sick. Don't you know when someone is looking out for your a$$?!
The only wrong thing she did was the cutting of the trousers. I imagine she always meant to do some alterations to them since you're been wasting away from your illness. Your rash behaviour prevented her from sewing them back up. Lookit! Do you understand now? From the bottom of my heart, I am begging you to call this chick now. I hope she forgives your dumba$$.
Ivynwa: I hope that the death of Perx has given a good food for thought to this nairaland lady and the likes of her that goes about mocking people with the problems they share in the forum. I hope that they have learnt from this and will stop--- that person you were mocking may be having his/her last days on earth. Why make fun of him/her and say hurting words to such persons? Why do such hateful things even come out of you? Where does it emanate from that all the time you are mocking people?
A person on a computer sharing his/her problem with others may be very lonely and sad, where do you get the heart to mock these persons? Where? I don't know why people listen to all those rubbishes you spill here, condone it, justify it, give you a pat on the back and smile over it. As per myself----I don't lick *sses whether rich or poor ones/living abroad or home based/presidential or commercial. I don't, I just hate to see hurting people made fun of and hope the likes of you stop that rubbish.
I hope you still can find it in you to be wallowing behind me and my post in nairaland even while i post with a heavy heart over Perx. I hope you still even read and mock my posts in nairaland with your better half as you said you have been doing. I hope you don't only show him my posts but the biles you spill on people here like you did on this case. Nonsense! I hope nobody deletes this posts of mine so that you and your likes reads it and you know what you have to do after reading it. KNOCK YOUR HEAD ON THE CYBERWALLS AS USUAL AND SPILL BOMBS AND ATOMIC BOMBS OF WORDS. The good thing is that I won't be reading it, you can't penetrate me with your devilish words. Now that you have learnt to be civil to people I hope that you do just that, yes I said it. Nonsense!
Ivynwa: I don't care who reads that my post up there, if they don't want to say the truth in this website somebody has to do the dirty job. It's a pity I have to do that job of telling it to them in their faces, they should stop mashing on the hearts of people---playing with their marital, personal, financial, tribal etc problems here. High Time they stopped. Nonsense!
You're right, Ivy. Anyone that wished bad things to Perx, they will have to deal with their conscience, if they have one. She did nothing to them, yet they just had to be evil. Anyway, they won't change. That's how they get their kicks. They'll get theirs soon enough.
She has finally picked to patiently hear whatever I've got to say and all my apologies and when I was done she just drop the call without saying a word.
It was a shock. I've gotten over mine since. She'll get over hers too eventually.
lol. You're as clueless as you are quick-tempered. She is going to ruin you but good! hahahaha. "She'll get over hers eventually." hahahahaha. She's either scheming to have you jumped by area boys, or she's going to chop off your willie the next time she comes over.
OK. Will do. Mine should take considerably less than three weeks, since it's only one subject.
I wanted to ask you about your support of Abacha. You've probably had to defend that ad infinitum, but I don't get it either. This is the guy who put Abiola in jail simply for stating his right to an election result which he won fairly. I understand your respect for Buhari, but why Abacha?
maclatunji: Please, let us not try to find fault with the medical team. When a soul bears too much pain, it desires to leave the body that gives it so much pain. I am sure they tried their best and Perx tried hers too. Let us accept that she lived a good life, gave all she had and went to the great beyond when God decided. I beg you not to play the blame-game.
You're a terrific guy. But, I disagree with the above. If you've ever been in hospital, recovering from surgery (in Nigeria or abroad!), you know how easily a doctor/nurse's negligence can put your life in danger. I am not saying anyone did anything wrong, but it is worth a review. People have to be held accountable for their action towards others in their care. I'll leave it at that for now, since people are still giving their regards to sister Perx.
BTW, there was a picture posted of the hospital room where Perx's arm was visible and I was taken aback by red marks (her veins?) up and down it. I wanted to ask about that condition but decided not to spotlight it. I guess we should have known just how bad things were then.
Ivynwa, I thought about you, girl. I was scanning NL, and saw a post of yours, I guess from yesterday, and I realized I hadn't see you post here since the news broke. Sorry, dear. I have already posted more than I wanted to, so I will just stop now. I just want to say a word to you. Hopefully, you will hear more shortly. I was shocked too o. Very sad for sweet brave Perx.
BUT, people can say whatever they want about her being in a better place. All I know is, that lady didn't have to die. There is nothing I have heard that leads me to believe there was no hope. She did not have to die. She had surgery and lapsed into a coma. After all she already went through. And now you are telling me she was scared to die. She wanted to l-i-v-e. She went through so much and did everything a survivor can do. . .
No need for abuse o. Sounds like the traditional wedding was done, but because they also previously agreed to a Registry wedding that's been on hold for 2 years, she's getting concerned. Plus, interfering in-laws aren't helping.
OP Rolahun, you probably don't want to stress yourself too much with all sorts of doubts. And, you also now realise, you came to the wrong place for advice. lol. Take it easy, talk to your husband. Best wishes and so on. . .
armyofone: all the molding and pressing nigerian parents did on their children are not necessary. i haven't seen any oyinbo with oblong or 4 corner head and they don't mold their newborn
Must African peoples live their lives based on approval from Oyinbo all the time? Oyinbos don't use our kind of sponge, called konkon/kankan to wash their body either, but some of us still do. Of course, the same Oyinbos will then spend hundreds of dollars at the spa to have their skin exfoliated with all sorts of things including mud.
Thanks for the info, OAMJ, R231, Ify, Jarus, Chelsea. . .
Maclatunji, Idowuogbo, all,
I haven't stopped crying since my last post. Poor Perx. She was so brave. The first time I read about her situation , that other thread, I read it but didn't know what to make of it. That woman put up with doubt, mockery and even downright verbal abuse, but she kept her head up. Oh, I am sorry, perx. Wish things had been different. Why did she fall into a coma? We would like to know, when the time is right. Rest in peace, Princess.
I just found out now. Dear Perx! I did not expect his o! The last time I checked, maybe 2 days ago, I saw a pic of her room and some doctors. I need to read backwards to the last post I read before. OMG!
They're not "killing Americans" because they burned the Qur'an. Afghanis are fighting back against an occupying force. How easy it is to forget than USA invaded their country and continue to build up their bases there. If you as a defeated man would just sit there and let your country be re-colonised, fine. But others are not willing to be violated in their own country. The fact that Muslims never accept oppression is the main reason they're been demonized by ignorant oyinbo-worsippers like Frosbel. None of the conflict involving Muslims is religion-based. The Palestinians fight back because of a territory, not because of "radical islam" whatever that politically-coined propagandist term means. Iraqis fight back because they were also invaded and occupied and millions of their people killed and women and children violated. (Do you think we will ever forget Abu-Ghraib?.) Lybia was invaded. Cote d'Ivoire was invaded. Syria is about to be invaded, as well as Iran. Tell me, who's the bad guy here? What is the prevailing similarity?
But when the oppressed fights back, you get nonsense reports about religious wars. War is war. Because one side happens to be of a different religion doesn't make it a religious one. Tell your lords, the mighty USA and NATO, to stop invading other countries and they won't have to worry about their Desecrating armies getting shot.
Ptolomeus: Thank you very much for your kindness dear brother Kilode I asked a question on Orisa in this thread, (post 271) that no one has responded. If you can give me your opinion I would greatly appreciate it. I am available to answer about everything you want. I am extremely grateful! My best regards
Ptolomeus,
Don't be fooled by our dear Kilode!?'s humility. He is a very knowledgeable and resourceful Yoruba (and then some) poster here. I think you will also enjoy meeting another poster, Katsumoto - he's Kilode!?'s twin. And the pride of many omo Ooduas on Nairaland. No one knows where our very clandestine brother, Katsumoto, is from, but he has posted in Spanish so I know you will have lots in common with him. It's certainly good to have you on the forum and share your enthusiasm for Yoruba and African culture.
I have an interest in children's health and hunger prevention, so I'll volunteer to research infant mortality. What's the outline? And due date for report submission?
What show is that exactly? The presenter's grammar is poor - "very few understands what he says . . ."? On the other hand, despite all the criticism of Hon. Patrick's bombastic language and odd phrasings, his grammar is excellent.
I couldn't hear the discussion. Audio was awful. I could hear a soprano chick singing in the foreground.
I liked the traditional outfit, plus the coral bead Hon. Patrick was sporting. Much better than the usual attire of white shirt with trousers pulled up to his chin. lol.
