Or alternatively go back to school and do your Msc Degree. |
does court work in Nigeria?? Buhari went to court, what was the outcome?? I beg make we hear word!! No be only court, na field. |
@stimulus Muslims will surely hate jews. Have you forgotten that it was a jewess that killed him, by poisoning meat she prepared for him?? |
Hnd-holder:You are correct. Most of the polytechnic lecturers/ASUP members are not polytechnic HND graduates. |
Hey, university graduate in Statistics?? and you don't know what to do?? You must be a maths guru to have studied Statistics. Go get yourself a good secondary school and begin to teach maths and further maths. Or if you are good in computing which i expect every Statistician to be, go join a software company as a trainee and learn how to design and write algorithms and develop Statistical and Business software. Or go do some research(es), gather data, design an experiment and carry out analysis on the experiment for a company that would need such results. They may employ you when they see your research work, who knows!! Weldone!!! |
Not in nigeria. |
akingold:Hey man i can teach and want to teach and make money like you. How do you make the money?? Hope its not fraud sha?? Hook me up on ishmaelxy@yahoo.com |
ASUP may want to go on strike not because of the removal of disparity between HND and Degree but because of the abolishment of HND programs/certificate as well as the educational reforms which ultimately makes all polytechnics to become campuses of universities and not independent polytechnics as before. They have a good point there, after all ASUU have been going on strike times without number for reasons far far behind what ASUP are planning to strike against. |
klev:They will all go back to conventional universities and graduate with BA or Bsc. |
babyosisi:Babyosisi, is Allah not God the most beneficient and the most merciful?? |
The board could be bad. |
Hnd-holder:you dey mind dem?? |
It was real trap they set for you people. |
Nigeria and Nigerians hate anything that has to do with Polytechnic. The most painful thing is that our government will come out on air decieving people that "polytechnic is the bedrock of technological development". I once listening to news one day when one of our Nigerian Ministers was making that statement. If truely poly is the bedrock of technological development, does it mean that they don't want Nigeria to develop technologically?? because they don't even encourage people to go to polytechnics at all, rather they want everybody to go to university and get a Degree even if it is in yoruba, Hausa, Ibo or Religion. And people with BA Degrees in languages and Religion are given better attention and priority than people with HND in Engineering, Science and Technology. Banks prefer to employ BA History or BA Yoruba to HND Accountancy; why?? |
Doris B:May God forgive you because i have forgiven you already. There are some books in the catholic bible that were rejected by the protestants. Doris B:Hebrew name meaning "God hears" |
Since you do not like the Debiting and Crediting routine job which probably your little cousin who is 10 could do if taught, look for a way to move to the IT Department, i think it will be more interesting and professional to be there as an Engineer. But mind you IT guys don't have time for themselves too because they work 24/7. saturdays and sundays are working days for IT guys; else remain in the Debiting and Crediting unit until you find a better job. |
yes o, i agree with you. Employers could simply push up the minimum grade to 1st class as against the present 2.1. Degree certificates would become worthless because everybody whether fit to get a Degree or not will definitely get it. |
endychux:Thats good for you. What about other HND holders that are under-employed, earning 1/4 of what a Bsc holder earns?? |
Then let everyone get a University Degree and lets see if that would solve the problem of underdevelopment in Nigeria. |
Pls someone, a very good christian should help us with the answer. |
Hnd-holder:And they still bragg and call themselves Engineers. bloody Technicians!!! |
akinwunmi:We need both!! Theory must go with practicals; and practicals too must go with theory. |
our Nigerian government knows nothing about that. Just get a university Degree and that is all they want. |
@Kuwena I love your humility. carry on like that and you will become a maths guru. More grease to your elbow. |
HND discrimination would have come to an end long ago, but for government insensitivity to Technical education it is still on ground. The govenment itself encouraged the discrimination when obviously they give preference to only Bsc graduates even in jobs that requires competent Technical manpower (Polytechnic graduates). They employ HND graduates and place them at a lower level and not the same level with Bsc holders. |
The difference is the Technical nature of the polytechnic curriculum which introduces students to the real or should i say Technical aspect of the course. The university curriculum is designed in such a way that students become more theoritical in their chosen fields. We expect university graduates in computer science to develop algorithms while the polytechnic graduates will code the algorithms for users to use in solving their problems. |
Seun:Do we have Engineers in Nigeria?? I think all of them are the same thing (Technicians). Or have they engineered anything in Nigeria before?? Engineers in Nigeria are more or less Technicians. |
but what actually is our problem in Nigeria?? why are we so crazy about certificates and not skills and knowledge?? |
story |
someone once asked Jesus when the world will come to an end? He answered by telling the person that He does not know the hour nor the day but His Father (God) alone knows. what does his answer tell you? |
Catholic Bible is complete, but KJV is not complete. |
davidylan:Just want to keep statistics. I know Noah was in the ark for 40 days and 40 nights; and Jonah was in the fish belly for 3 days and 3 nights, Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights, etc. is there anything wrong in knowing that of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden?? |
