In the bigger picture, the current policy isn't about redesign or swap. It's a all about the cashless policy. Our deficient banking and comms infrastructure is why it will that that long (3 years min). No where on can anyone reap where you didn't sow. There's so much to be done to improve our banking network. What about cyber security? Go and verify - our banking infrastructure gets penetrated during more than 90% of attacks. What about orientation?

Naira redesign has been happening like more than 4 times since the introduction of Naira. In recent times, Obasanjo did it and even introduced higher denominations , Jonathan did it also.
All previous swaps took less than 3 months and was barely noticed.

It is not rocket science that should take 3 years.

Problem here is that the timing was wrong, it has always been a big risk to make a major policy decision in a political year because saboteurs will attempt to useless it

If this redesign was done in June, within a month, all notes would have been in circulation without any upheaval

1. Sack Omiefele

2. Extend the deadline until the end of 2023. Subject to further extension.

3. Let the new and old naira notes co-exist

4. The CBN gradually replace old notes with new notes

5. After stability of supply, gradually initiate and enforce cashless policy. This is when CBN should start paying attention to the banking infrastructure.

6. Once cashless policy starts getting a solid footing, start withdrawing new notes until the CBN's supply target is met.

These should take a minimum of 3 years

I need some clarification. So if BVAS accredits & approves 50 votes but 70 people voted, in that case, 20 votes should be automatically rejected as ineligible. Or Are INEC officials still allowed to review the 20 Votes not approved by BVAS? I thought the whole process is set up to reduce human input at the polling station.
